The concept of the “Great Replacement“, popularised by the French writer Renaud Camus, is the subject of heated debate in Europe and the US. It refers to the hypothesis of a demographic replacement of native European populations by immigrant populations, mainly from Africa and the Middle East, as a result of migration dynamics and differences in birth rates.

This term, often associated with polemical discourse, deserves a factual examination to disentangle what is myth, reality or taboo.

Let’s explore the available data in Europe, the arguments on both sides and the reasons why the subject remains so sensitive.

Demographics: What do the figures say?

To assess the “Great Replacement” thesis, it is essential to rely on reliable statistics. In Europe, demographic trends show two distinct phenomena: a decline in the birth rate among European populations and sustained immigration over several decades.

Decline in the European birth rate

According to Eurostat, the fertility rate in the European Union (EU) has fallen from 2.1 children per woman in 1970 (the level needed to renew generations) to around 1.38 in 2023. In countries such as Italy (1.2), Spain (1.12) and Germany (1.4), this decline is particularly marked. At the same time, the ageing of the population is accelerating: in 2020, 20.6% of Europeans were over 65, a figure projected to rise to 30% by 2050.

Immigration and demographic composition

Immigration is a key factor in the evolution of European populations. In 2022, the EU has welcomed 5.1 million (!) migrants (legal and illegal), mainly from Africa, the Middle East and South Asia (Eurostat). According to the Pew Research Center, people of non-European origin account for around 10% of the EU’s total population in 2020, compared with less than 4% in 1990. In some countries, such as France, Sweden and the Netherlands, the proportion is higher, particularly in large cities. In Brussels, for example, over 40% of the population is of non-European origin (source Statbel).

Birth rates among immigrant populations

Data shows that women of immigrant origin, particularly first-generation immigrants, often have higher fertility rates than ‘native’ European women. In France, for example, INSEE reports that women born outside the EU have an average fertility rate of 2.3, compared with 1.7 for women born in France. However, this differential tends to narrow with subsequent generations.

On the basis of these figures, demographic projections vary. The Pew Research Center estimates that, by 2050, populations of non-European origin should account for 20% of the population in several European countries, depending on migration policies and birth rate trends. These projections do not mean total ‘replacement’, but a significant transformation of the demographic composition.

Arguments for and against the “Great Replacement” thesis

The proponents of the thesis
Those who defend the idea of the “Great Replacement” rely on the demographic trends described above, which are as massive as they are indisputable. They argue that the combination of a low European birth rate, continued immigration and higher fertility rates among immigrant populations is inevitably leading to a reduction in the proportion of “native” populations.

Opponents
It is stressed that migration – all migration – is a “normal” historical phenomenon, driven by economic, political and humanitarian factors. According to these analysts, demographic projections do not justify the alarmist term “replacement”, because immigrant populations integrate, gradually adopting the demographic behaviour of the host countries. They accuse the GR thesis of indulging in xenophobic rhetoric, stigmatising migrants and fuelling social tensions. Institutions such as the UN and pro-immigration think tanks stress the economic benefits of migration to offset the ageing of Europe’s populations.

The Great Replacement: myth, reality or taboo?

The figures confirm a radical demographic transformation in Europe – in quantity and speed – with a rapid increase in the proportion of populations of non-European origin. A significant proportion of Muslim migrants and their descendants unambiguously identify with radical Islam, including its anti-Semitic prejudices and stereotypes. In essence, this radical Islam, which rejects the very idea of democratic law, is categorically incompatible with Western civilisation. If there is no longer any common law, all that remains is a fractured, Lebanonised, Balkanised society in permanent internal conflict. The great replacement as a result of radical demographic change in Europe is a factual reality, as clear as the sun in August.

For some, this phenomenon has been orchestrated by globalised elites; from this point of view, the Great Replacement is the result of some kind of conspiracy. I don’t share this point of view. For while ideologies and powerful ideologues — Soros, Steve Job’s widow — are obviously in favour of the obliteration of borders, important local factors also come into play. The question of immigration to Europe, for example, would never have arisen if there hadn’t been a collapse in ‘local’ demographics in the first place (see Jean-Claude Chesnais, La transition démographique, 1986 and Massimo Livi-Bacc, A Concise History of World Population, 1989).

Rather than giving in to polemics, isn’t the challenge for our societies to manage those developments pragmatically? Encouraging active integration, freeing Muslims from the totalitarian gangue of islam and its anti-Semitic overtones — if such a thing is still possible — strengthening social cohesion and rethinking migration policies to meet economic needs while respecting citizens’ concerns. By excluding those who refuse any form of economic and cultural integration, and putting in place effective removal processes.

Which brings us to another taboo of the Left: remigration.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested 11 Iranian nationals found to be living in the country illegally, including individuals with suspected terrorist ties and significant criminal histories.

These individuals were apprehended from eight states, including Minnesota, Mississippi, Alabama, California, New York, Colorado, and Texas.

According to DHS, the detainees include a former member of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), a convicted Iranian Army sniper, and at least one individual with confirmed Hezbollah affiliations.

One high-profile arrest occurred in St. Paul, Minnesota, where ICE took into custody Mehran Makari Saheli, a 56‑year‑old ex-IRGC member linked to Hezbollah and with a prior firearms conviction.

In northern Alabama, agents arrested Ribvar Karimi, identified as a former Iranian Army sniper who entered on a K‑1 fiancé visa last October.

Five of those detained carry records of serious offenses—including drug possession, grand larceny, firearms charges—underscoring ongoing concerns about repeat offenders overstaying visas or exploiting parole pathways.

Notably, Yousef Mehridehno, living illegally for nearly eight years and placed on the terrorist watchlist in February, was apprehended near Jackson, Mississippi.

Homeland Security published a report on the arrests on Tuesday morning:

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested 11 Iranian nationals illegally in the United States over the weekend. ICE also arrested a U.S. citizen who threatened to kill ICE law enforcement while harboring an illegal alien from Iran. The weekend arrests reflect the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) commitment to keeping known and suspected terrorists out of American communities.

“Under Secretary Noem, DHS has been full throttle on identifying and arresting known or suspected terrorists and violent extremists that illegally entered this country, came in through Biden’s fraudulent parole programs or otherwise,” said DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. “We have been saying we are getting the worst of the worst out—and we are. We don’t wait until a military operation to execute; we proactively deliver on President Trump’s mandate to secure the homeland.”

• On June 22, ICE Atlanta arrested Ribvar Karimi in Locust, Alabama. Karimi reportedly served as an Iranian Army sniper from 2018 to 2021 and at the time of his arrest, in his possession, he had an Islamic Republic of Iran Army identification card. He entered the U.S. on a K-1 visa, which is reserved for aliens engaged to be married to American citizens, in October 2024 under the Biden administration. Karimi never adjusted his status — a legal requirement — and is removable from the United States. He’s currently in ICE custody, where he’ll remain pending removal proceedings.

• On June 22, ICE Houston officials arrested Behzad Sepehrian Bahary Nejad, an alien with a final order of removal, who was carrying a loaded 9mm pistol at the time of his arrest. Sepehrian entered the U.S. in Houston on Dec. 9, 2016, on an F-1 student visa. On Aug. 19, 2017, Harris County police arrested him for assaulting a family member by impeding breathing; his wife told the local assistant district attorney that Sepehrian was threatening her and obtained a restraining order against him. She also alleged he was threatening her family in Iran. On July 23, 2018, the University of Texas terminated Sepehrian’s status after he was placed on academic suspension. An immigration judge ordered him removed on Oct. 10, 2019, after he was released on an immigration bond; he filed a motion to reopen his case, which a Department of Justice immigration judge denied. Sepehrian is in ICE custody pending removal proceedings.

• Also in Houston, ICE arrested Hamid Reza Bayat, an Iranian national an immigration judge ordered removed nearly 20 years ago, on Aug. 4, 2005. Twice convicted of drug crimes and once convicted of driving on a suspended license, Bayat served time before receiving his final order of removal. He’s now in ICE custody pending removal proceedings.

• On June 22, in Tempe — a Phoenix, Arizona suburb — ICE agents arrested Mehrzad Asadi Eidivand, an Iranian citizen with a final order of removal convicted of threatening a law enforcement officer and being an alien in possession of a firearm. Eidivand entered the U.S. in San Ysidro, California, in June 2012. In August 2013, an immigration judge granted him a voluntary departure, which allows an alien to leave the country without a formal ICE removal, but he never left. Eidivand will remain in ICE custody pending removal proceedings.

• At the same residence, officials arrested Linet Vartaniann, a United States citizen, for threatening a law enforcement officer and harboring Eidivand, an illegal alien. Vartaniann threatened to open fire on ICE officials if they entered her home, then said she would go outside and “shoot ICE officers in the head.” ICE officials obtained a search warrant for the residence and arrested the pair, who are now charged with federal crimes.

• On June 22, in Gluckstadt, Mississippi, ICE officers and agents arrested Yousef Mehridehno, an Iranian national and former lawful permanent resident. The U.S. government terminated Mehridehno’s residency in October 2017 after determining he lied on his original visa application and committed potential marriage fraud. In February, Mehridehno was listed as a known or suspected terrorist, and he’s now in ICE custody pending removal proceedings.

• On June 22, in Colorado Springs, ICE officials arrested Mahmoud Shafiei and Mehrdad Mehdipour — two illegally present Iranian nationals living together. Immigration officials first encountered Shafiei in Seattle, Washington, in January 1981; a judge ordered him removed in January 1987. His criminal history includes state and federal convictions for drug crimes and arrests for assault and child abuse. U.S. Border Patrol encountered Mehdipour in June 2023 during the Biden administration near Rio Grande Valley, Texas, and processed him as an expedited removal. Both men are in ICE custody pending removal proceedings.

• On June 22, in St. Paul, Minnesota, ICE arrested Mehran Makari Saheli, a 56-year-old Iranian national. He was convicted of being a felon in possession of a firearm in Minneapolis, where he was sentenced to 15 months in prison. He is a former member of off the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) with admitted connections to Hezbollah. An immigration judge ordered him removed June 28, 2022, under the Biden administration, but he illegally remained in the U.S. Saheli is now in ICE custody pending removal.

• On June 22, ICE San Francisco arrested Bahman Alizadeh Asfestani, a 62-year-old Iranian national, with a criminal history that includes a 1994 conviction for petty theft and a 1995 conviction of possession of a controlled substance for sale. Asfestani was sentenced to 10 years in state prison for the drug conviction and is now in ICE custody pending removal proceedings.

• On June 23, ICE Buffalo arrested Mohammad Rafikian, a 65-year-old Iranian national convicted of grand larceny, schemes to defraud, criminal impersonation and practicing as an attorney.
• On the same date, ICE San Diego arrested Arkavan Babk Moirokorli, a 57-year-old Iranian national convicted of forging an official seal. Both are in ICE custody pending removal proceedings.

Georgetown University professor Jonathan Brown, who serves as the University’s chair of the Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies and the director of the Prince Alwaleed bin Talal Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding, posted a shocking suggestion to the brutal Iranian regime over the weekend.

Following the U.S. strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities on Saturday, Brown shared a post on X saying he hoped that Iran would strike a United States military base as a “symbolic” gesture.

Brown wrote, “I’m not an expert, but I assume Iran could still get a bomb easily. I hope Iran does some symbolic strike on a base, then everyone stops.”

“I’m surprised this is what these FDD/Hasbara people have been auto-erotically asphyxiating themselves for all these years.”

He continued, “Ironically, the main takeaways (in my non-expert opinion, and I’m happy to be corrected) from all this have nothing to do with a US attack: 1) Iran can take a licking; 2) if Israel attacks Iranian cities, it gets f****d up pretty bad.”

“I mean I’ve been shocked at the damage Iranian missiles caused; 3) despite his best efforts, Reza Pahlavi HVAC repair services still only third best in Nova.”

Brown has since deleted the post and backtracked on his concerning statement.  He also made his X account private, but not before a screenshot of his post was widely shared.

In a follow-up post, Brown attempted to walk back his comments, saying, “I deleted my previous tweet because a lot of people were interpreting it as a call for violence.”

“That’s not what I intended. I have two immediate family members in the US military who’ve served abroad and wouldn’t want any harm to befall American soldiers… or anyone!”

For years Kelly Walker has been standing up for families attacked and persecuted during the Biden years.  Many of these families were attacked based on the recommendations of Biden’s AG Merrick Garland.  (Here is what Walker shared in an article in March this year.)

In 2021, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) conspired with school districts to weaponize against parents concerned that CDC covid-19 policies were driving children to mental health crisis and suicide.

Kelly John Walker was one of the first parents targeted for telling the Truth. Since then, he’s led the charge to expose the criminals who defamed, arrested and even imprisoned parents…and who hid their complicity in driving children to suicide, for money.

Problem

Parents across the nation were targeted following a September 29, 2021 letter sent by the National School Board Association to Merrick Garland and Joe Biden. Garland responded with the now infamous October 4 memo devoting federal resources under the Patriot Act and a terrorist threat tag to pursue concerned parents as so-called domestic terrorists.

The Interim Staff Report of the House Committee on the Judiciary and the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government, March 21, 2023, informs the public on “the Biden Administration’s use of federal law-enforcement and counterterrorism resources against parents voicing concerns about controversial curricula and education-related policies at local school board meetings.”

This unconscionable abuse of families is a hemorrhaging wound that must be prioritized and resolved by the Trump Administration.

Summary

American families have suffered unlawful arrest—of parents and children—for exercising their First Amendment rights, and for seeking answers to questions deeply affecting their children’s education, religious freedom, as well as mental and physical health. A number of parents were denied reasonable answers from taxpayer-supported administrators, and then “trespassed” and arrested as a means of bypassing due accountability to citizens.

Solution

Immediate action should be taken to provide assistance and restitution to those families harmed by this weaponization. We recommend the following actions be taken:

Formal written apology from the Federal government; pressure on collaborating states and cities that carried out Garland’s objectives.

Compensation for legal defense fees, lost wages, economic damages incurred by victims.
Full pardon and record expungement, including by collaborating states and cities.

Pressure on the Media and Search Engines to retract defamatory content.
