FCC Chairman Brendan Carr Says Investigating ‘The View’ ‘Worthwhile’

On Thursday, Federal Communications Commission Chairman (FCC) Brendan Carr joined “The Scott Jennings Show.” Carr shared that he believes it would be “worthwhile” to investigate whether ABC’s “The View” might be violating broadcast rules in the wake of Jimmy Kimmel’s suspension.

During his comments, Carr argued that far-left show might be violating the commission’s “equal time” rule. The “equal time” rule requires broadcasters to provide equal opportunity to all political candidates unless deemed a “bona fide news show.”

Per Congress.gov:

The FCC administers a licensing system for the owners and operators of radio and television broadcast stations. This licensing is considered necessary because the electromagnetic spectrum on which broadcast stations operate is a scarce and finite resource. As discussed in this CRS Report, the FCC has a number of rules and regulations regarding access to airwaves by political candidates. Section 315(a) of the Communications Act of 1934, as amended, requires broadcast licensees to afford “equal opportunities to all other such candidates for that office” in the event that the licensee permits a candidate for public office “to use a broadcasting station.” The FCC has issued a regulation pursuant to this statutory directive. The rule contains exceptions, including when a candidate appears on a “bona fide newscast” or in “on-the-spot coverage of bona fide news events.” This rule is colloquially referred to as the “equal time rule,” though this phrase does not appear in the rule or in the provision of the Communications Act authorizing it.

Carr state, “Potentially, I would assume you can make the argument that ‘The View’ is a bona fide news show, but I’m not so sure about that.”

“And I think it’s worthwhile to have the FCC look into whether ‘The View’ and some of these other programs that you have still qualify as bona fide news programs and therefore exempt from the equal opportunity regime that Congress has put in place.”

Watch (segment begins at 35:00)

Carr also discussed ABC’s recent decision to cancel The Jimmy Kimmel Show indefinitely,  noting, “People, you know,  are trying to point the finger at President Trump, or point the finger at the administration, or the FCC, and we can talk about that.”

“But what they’re missing is a much broader dynamic that’s taking place in the media ecosystem right now. And I do think, frankly, it flows from President Trump.”

“President Trump ran directly at these legacy, mainstream broadcasters, and he smashed the facade that they can dictate what the American people think and what they’re allowed to say.”

Senate Democrats Block House-Passed Stopgap Measure as Shutdown Looms

Senate Democrats Block House-Passed Stopgap Measure as Shutdown Looms
September 19, 2025

On Friday, the US Senate rejected two measures to fund the government as a shutdown loomed. Both measures needed 60 votes to pass.

The Senate rejected a Trump-backed House-passed stopgap bill 44-48 and blocked a Democrat version 47-45.

The Trump-backed stopgap bill would have funded the government until November 21.

Democrat Schumer’s version of the measure to avert a government shutdown would have funded far-left NPR and other Marxist pet projects.

Democrat Senator John Fetterman voted with Republicans, and Republican Senator Rand Paul voted with Democrats to block the measures.

“If anyone believes that we’re on a rocket sled to autocracy, why would we hand our, a shuttered government over to President Trump or to Vought at OMB,” Fetterman said.

After the Senate leaves on Friday, Senators will be taking a week-long recess.

CNN reported:

The Senate rejected both the House-passed short-term government funding measure and a Democratic alternative on Friday, as clock ticks down towards a shutdown.

Both resolutions needed 60 votes to be adopted. The Democratic package was rejected 47-45, and the House-passed version went down 44-48. Democratic Sen. John Fetterman voted for both and Republican Sen. Rand Paul voted against both.

The House-passed version, put forward by Republicans, would extend government funding at current levels until mid-November and includes new funding for government officials’ security.

The Democratic resolution also includes additional security funding, but it only extends funding until October 31 and extends enhanced Affordable Care Act subsidies set to expire at the end of this year.

The voice of Charlie Kirk’s assassin has surfaced in a disturbing gaming clip uncovered by the Daily Mail, exposing not only his bizarre online persona but also his sick ties to twisted pornography circles.

Tyler Robinson, 22, the man charged with murdering conservative leader Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University last week, was recorded years ago under his gamer handle “Craftin.”

The video, originally posted to YouTube before being scrubbed, captured Robinson chatting with friends while playing the children’s game Minecraft.

Robinson, who went by the alias “Craftin” online, was recorded mocking a fellow gamer for misspelling his username.

Who put a G at the end of my name, what are you, a psychopath?” Robinson joked before celebrating a level-up.

Robinson’s “Craftin” persona led Daily Mail reporters down a rabbit hole into the killer’s depraved digital footprint.

  • Robinson’s Steam account reveals he downloaded and played “Furry Shades of Gay” — a pornographic game marketed as celebrating “hot gay sex” and “slapstick humor”. He played it long enough to unlock an “uncommon sticker” reward featuring a cat-human maid character.

  • Under the handle “craftin247”, Robinson reportedly maintained a presence on FurAffinity, a platform notorious for so-called “furry” artwork — much of it hyper-sexualized.

  • His activity included watching material from disgraced furry porn artist RedRusker, who admitted to producing “cub” (child-themed) pornographic art, including depictions of drugged cartoon characters labeled as 8 years old.

LISTEN:

Robinson’s online profile included a fixation on the “furry” subculture and meme-culture tropes. Among the most eyebrow-raising: inscriptions on bullet casings reading “If you read this, you are gay LMAO” or “OwO what’s this?” – phrases tied deeply into gamer, furry, and internet meme subcultures.

Prosecutors say that Robinson engraved lyrics from Bella Ciao, a song with radical left / Antifa associations, on his weapon’s cartridges.

As TGP’s Cassandra MacDonald previously reported, Tyler Robinson confessed to his friends in a Discord group chat shortly before turning himself in.

The confession came two hours before he was surrendered to authorities.

According to screenshots obtained by the Washington Post, Robinson told the group of 30 people, “Hey guys, I have bad news for you all. It was me at UVU yesterday. im sorry for all of this. im surrendering through a sheriff friend in a few moments. thanks for all the good times and laughs.”

Before his confession, someone in the group posted about Kirk’s shooting. Another user responded to the news, saying, “I just saw the video holy sh-t. Bro didn’t deserve to go out like that.”

Robinson also reportedly made flippant jokes in Discord chats with 20 other users while he was on the run, though it is unclear if this is the same chat group. He is reported to have quipped to friends that a “doppelganger” was responsible for the shooting after the FBI released images of the suspect.

Discord has claimed it found “no evidence that the suspect planned this incident or promoted violence on Discord.”

Despite this, there have been at least seven posts uncovered from social media users who appeared to have advanced knowledge of the assassination plot, as The Gateway Pundit has been reporting. The FBI is reportedly investigating those users.

For example, one X user linked to Robinson’s circle posted “WE F-CKING DID IT” after the shooting.

President Trump himself confirmed during an interview that a “large group of people” is under investigation in connection with the case.

A radical-left Democratic candidate learned the hard way what the phrase FAFO means after trying to obstruct law enforcement.

Katherine Abughazaleh, who is running for Congress in Illinois’s 9th Congressional District, joined other anti-ICE protesters in Broadview on Friday to block a processing facility used by the agency. Things quickly got out of control when an ICE agent lost a tear gas canister, which a protester picked up and threw in the direction of NewsNation reporter Ali Bradley.

Chaos continued to unfold when Abughazaleh decided to mess around with ICE. As the video by Bradley below shows, the Illinois Democrat decides to rush right in front of an ICE vehicle in an attempt to prevent it from.

But one brave ICE agent springs into action and promptly takes care of Abughazaleh. He is seen forcibly dragging her away and proceeds to body slam her onto the ground.

She ends up landing hard on her rear. Ouch.

WATCH:

Bradley reported that this incident was preceded by Abughazaleh sitting on the ground to block the vehicle’s exit.

Abughazaleh went on X following her humiliating ordeal to whine about ICE violating her First Amendment rights.

“This is what it looks like when ICE violates our First Amendment rights,” she wrote while sharing footage of her encounter on X.

Of course, the Constitution does not give individuals the right to impede law enforcement. But no one has ever accused Abughazaleh of being a constitutional scholar.

Charlie Kirk’s Funeral Will Have Super Bowl Level Security, Feds Tracking ‘Several Threats of Unknown Credibility’ from ‘Violent Extremists’

Charlie Kirk’s Funeral Will Have Super Bowl Level Security, Feds Tracking ‘Several Threats of Unknown Credibility’ from ‘Violent Extremists’
September 19, 2025

Federal authorities have designated the upcoming funeral for Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, as a Special Event Assessment Rating Level 1, the highest security classification typically reserved for major national events, such as the Super Bowl.

This decision comes in response to reports of several threats of “unknown credibility” against the memorial itself and officials who are attending. President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and Erika Kirk are all scheduled to speak.

A memo obtained by ABC News warns of lone offenders, domestic extremists, and foreign terror organizations.

“Violent extremists and unaffiliated lone offenders may view the memorial service or related events as attractive attack targets due to the attendance of these individuals, other senior US government officials, state and local government officials, and political activists and due to major international media attention,” the memo issued by agencies including the FBI, Dept. of Homeland Security (DHS), Secret Service and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), states.

William Mack, the Secret Service special agent in charge of the Phoenix field office, told ABC that “the Secret Service has been designated as the federal coordinator for the funeral.”

“Our teams are already on the ground in Phoenix and Glendale, working side-by-side with state, local, and federal partners,” Mack said. “Together, we are fully committed to ensuring that these solemn events receive the comprehensive protection and support they require.”

Jose Santiago, public information officer for the Glendale Police Department, told the outlet that he will not be surprised if more than 100,000 people show up to celebrate Kirk’s life.

“He says they expect people to travel in from across the country and begin lining up for the first-come, first-served service by 2 a.m. on Sunday, if not before. The parking lot opens at 7:00 a.m., local time. Camping in the area will not be allowed,” the report states.

The funeral service is scheduled for Sunday at 11 a.m. at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, with doors opening at 8 a.m.

Attendees are advised to expect enhanced security measures, including a no-bag policy and additional screening that may result in longer wait times. Mourners are encouraged to wear attire in red, white, or blue. Instead of flowers, donations are requested for Turning Point USA.

Kirk, 31, was fatally shot on September 10 during a speech at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, as part of his “American Comeback Tour.”

The suspect, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, has been charged with capital murder and is being held without bail in Utah, where he could face the death penalty if convicted.
