An upcoming vote to honor conservative icon Charlie Kirk and condemn his assassination reportedly has House Democrats fuming that they’re “being totally set up.”

House Speaker Mike Johnson introduced the resolution, and it has been co-sponsored by 165 House Republicans. Zero Democrats signed on.

Kirk, 31, was the target of leftist political violence when he was assassinated during a speaking event in Utah last week.

Axios reports, “Kirk was not beloved by Democrats, but some in the party fear that anything short of a unanimous vote for the resolution could be a messaging coup for Republicans.”

“People are worried that we’re being totally set up,” a House Democrat told Axios on the condition of anonymity.

The report added, “The lawmaker noted that a bipartisan resolution condemning the shootings of Democratic state lawmakers in Minnesota passed the House 424 to 0 in June.”

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries reportedly told House Democrats that leadership will be voting in favor of the resolution during a closed-door meeting on Thursday.

However, Jeffries reportedly said he will not be whipping votes for it either, meaning that lawmakers will be free to decide to vote for or against it on their own.

Trashy Rep. Jasmine Crockett has said she will vote against the bill, telling Axios she is “not sure what is honorable” about Kirk’s views.

Democrat Rep. Jamie Raskin is urging people to vote in favor, calling it an “obvious political trap,” according to a report from Reuters.

“We cannot fall for that obvious political trap and should rise above it,” Raskin said. “It is essential that we come together as Americans to condemn each and every episode of political violence.”

The resolution states in part:

“Charlie Kirk personified the values of the First Amendment, exercising his God-given right to speak free ly, challenge prevailing narratives, and did so with honor, courage, and respect for his fellow Americans.”

“Charlie Kirk’s commitment to civil discussion and debate stood as a model for young Americans across the political spectrum, and he worked tirelessly to promote unity without compromising on conviction.”

“The assassination of Charlie Kirk was not only a heinous act of violence, but a sobering reminder of the grow ing threat posed by political extremism and hatred in our society.”

The two were legally married on February 12, 2009, and divorced in 2011.

Barack Obama thought he could score cheap political points against President Trump, but Roseanne Barr just blew the lid off his hypocrisy.

On Thursday, Obama lashed out at the Trump Administration after ABC’s late-night propagandist Jimmy Kimmel was yanked off the air for lying about Charlie Kirk’s assassin.

Kimmel had the audacity to tell millions of viewers that Kirk was murdered by a “MAGA conservative.”

That grotesque lie was too much even for ABC affiliates. Nexstar Media and Sinclair Group announced Wednesday that they were removing Kimmel from their lineup.

Disney followed suit, confirming to Fox News Digital that “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” has been pulled “indefinitely.”

Instead of condemning Kimmel’s lies, Obama rushed to his defense, whining that Trump’s America is supposedly weaponizing “cancel culture.”

“After years of complaining about cancel culture, the current administration has taken it to a new and dangerous level by routinely threatening regulatory action against media companies unless they muzzle or fire reporters and commentators it doesn’t like.

That’s when Roseanne Barr torched him.

Barr, who was canceled overnight in 2018 for a single tweet, reminded the world that it was the Obamas who helped destroy her career.

Former ABC president Channing Dungey, who carried out her firing, worked directly with the Obamas at Netflix.

Barr has never denied that her tweet about Valerie Jarrett was “stupid.” But she insists it was intended to highlight the Obama administration’s cozy ties with Iran, not to smear Jarrett’s race.

A heated confrontation unfolded at a Dearborn City Council meeting, when Mayor Abdullah Hammoud told Christian resident Edward “Ted” Barham that, although he lives in the city, he was “not welcome here.”

The clash arose from Barham’s objection to street signs honoring Osama Siblani, publisher of the Arab American News, who has faced longstanding accusations of supporting or praising Hamas and Hezbollah.

Barham, a Christian minister with experience living in Lebanon and Israel, criticized the renaming of two intersections after Siblani, calling it deeply inappropriate.

He referenced Siblani’s past statements from 2022 and earlier, including calls to back armed resistance and allusions to the “blood of the martyrs” nourishing the land of Palestine.

Barham equated the street signs to designating public spaces as “Hamas Street or Hezbollah Street,” deeming the decision “inappropriate.”

Mayor Hammoud responded vehemently, labeling Barham a bigot, racist, and Islamophobe. He advised Barham to avoid the renamed streets or close his eyes while driving on them.

“I want you to know as mayor, you are not welcome here,” Hammoud declared, adding, “And the day you move out of the city will be the day that I launch a parade celebrating the fact that you moved out of the city.”

Hammoud further accused Barham of posting videos outside the mayor’s mosque, making derogatory comments about Muslims and Islam, though a review found the footage showed Barham singing a Christmas carol and engaging in friendly theological discussions.

In defense, Siblani asserted that his remarks were quoted selectively and out of context. He affirmed his support for Palestinians’ right to resist occupation but clarified he does not promote Hezbollah or Hamas, while noting some view them as freedom fighters rather than terrorists.

Councilman Robert Abraham also defended Siblani, stating, “He’s not a violent person, and you can interpret his words any way you want, but I will guarantee you he is not intending to incite violence anywhere in the world.”

The signs are located on Warren Avenue, a county road, meaning Wayne County holds authority over the naming, not the city council. Still, for many residents, the gesture carries symbolic weight.

Dearborn hosts one of the largest Arab American and Muslim populations in the U.S., often dubbed the “Arab Capital of North America”. Events like this raise questions about whether all residents, irrespective of faith or views, can voice concerns without fear.

Ted Barham, undeterred, affirmed he won’t retaliate with hate. Drawing on his Christian faith, he emphasized that disagreement does not equate to hatred and that beliefs should be shared freely.

After Hammoud’s outburst, Barham responded, “God bless you, mayor,” prompting further retorts before the council president intervened.
