European liberals have the same objective as their American counterparts: preserve their rule while destroying Christendom.

On both sides of the Atlantic, that means inverting truth, destroying freedom, impoverishing the native populations, and importing as many foreigners as possible — all of which serve the diabolical purposes of Western elites.

President Donald Trump addressed Europe’s delegates directly on Tuesday at the United Nations, where he warned them, “You’re destroying your heritage” because “You want to be nice,” which is certainly the most charitable interpretation of European leaders’ climate-worshiping and open-borders policies.

“I’m telling you that if you don’t get away from the green-energy scam,” Trump said in a clip posted to the social media platform X, “your country is going to fail.”

Then, the president linked Europeans’ insane climate policies to their insane immigration policies.

“And if you don’t stop people that you’ve never seen before that you have nothing in common with,” he continued, “your country is going to fail.”

Trump also professed love for Europe.

“And I hate to see [Europe] being devastated by energy and immigration,” he said. “This double-tailed monster destroys everything in its wake, and they cannot let that happen any longer.”

Finally, the president offered his charitable interpretation of European leaders’ motives.

“You’re doing it because you want to be nice,” he continued. “You want to be politically correct. And you’re destroying your heritage.”

In another clip from the same speech, Trump noted the vast numbers of so-called “asylum seekers” in European prisons.

“It’s time to end the failed experiment of open borders,” the president rightly insisted.

In many ways, the president gave European leaders too much credit. After all, evidence suggests that they have destroyed their countries by design.

For one thing, European leaders, on the whole, have abandoned Christianity. In its place, they now celebrate something quite different.

Moreover, European liberals have posed as champions of democracy in funding and supporting Ukraine’s defensive war against Russia. Those same liberals, however, have abandoned democracy at home. Places like Germany and the United Kingdom have degenerated into police states.

Of course, liberal elites love stringent climate policies because those policies mean more power for authoritarian liberals. They love open borders partly because open borders mean cheap labor but mostly because they detest the native populations of their own countries.

Thus, when viewed from the top down, not since 1945 has Europe’s future looker bleaker.

On the other hand, when viewed from the bottom up, flickers of hope remain.

For instance, in the wake of conservative Christian icon Charlie Kirk’s assassination earlier this month, an estimated one million people took to the streets of London in opposition to open borders and in support of everything good that Kirk represented, including free speech.

If Europe’s future rests in the hands of those patriots, then that future suddenly looks brighter.

Otherwise, the continent’s liberal elites will continue its deliberate destruction.

Anyone who follows education news, or just has children in public schools, knows that we have an education crisis in this country right now.

Grade school students in multiple states cannot read or do math at grade level. The problem already existed years ago, but shutting down schools during Covid-19 made things even worse.

Now, some states in the south have discovered a cure for the problem – Going back to basics and teaching things like phonics.

It’s amazing. If you focus on teaching kids to read rather than telling them about social justice and gender theory, they actually learn to read. Who knew?

Illiteracy is a policy choice

This month, the Department of Education released its latest edition of the National Assessment of Educational Progress, the standardized tests better known as the Nation’s Report Card. The results have left me blazing with rage.

In my home state of California, for instance, only 30% of public school fourth graders can read proficiently. Fully 41% cannot even read at a basic level — which is to say, they cannot really understand and interpret written text at all. Eighth graders, as you might expect, look almost as bad…

But scores are not slipping everywhere. In Mississippi, they have been rising year over year. The state recovered from a brief decline during COVID and has now surpassed its pre-COVID highs. Its fourth grade students outperform California’s on average, even though our state is richer, more educated, and spends about 50% more per pupil.

The difference is most pronounced if you look at the most disadvantaged students. In California, only 28% of Black fourth graders read at or above basic level, for instance, compared to 52% in Mississippi. But it’s not just that Mississippi has raised the floor. It has also raised the ceiling: The state is also one of the nation’s best performers when you look at students who are not “economically disadvantaged.”…

First, it’s not just Mississippi — Louisiana, Alabama, and Tennessee have adopted the same strategies, stemmed the bleeding affecting states elsewhere, and seen significant improvements…

This is the part of the story that has gotten the most attention — teach phonics! And you should, indeed, teach phonics. But making schools adopt the approach took more than a mere nudge. The Southern Surge states have tried earmarked funding, guidance to districts, and outright mandates to accomplish universal adoption.

When schools embrace nonsense like gender and social justice, they do so at the expense of basic and necessary skills like reading and basic math, robbing students of learning the things they will need to succeed in life.

Every school in America needs to return to the basics. It is an absolute crime for a young person to go through years of schooling only to emerge unable to read.

Southern states are showing the way and it works.

Assata Shakur, birth name JoAnne Deborah Byron, a former domestic terrorist who escaped from a New Jersey prison in 1979 and fled to Cuba where she was granted asylum, has died at the age of 78.

Shakur was sent to prison for murder, armed robbery, and other crimes. For years, she has been held up by the radical left as a ‘black liberation’ activist and revolutionary.

She embraced life in Cuba and praised Communist leader Fidel Castro as a hero.

The Associated Press reports:

Assata Shakur, a Black liberation activist who was given political asylum in Cuba after her 1979 escape from a U.S. prison where she had been serving a life sentence for killing a police officer, has died, her daughter and the Cuban government said.

Shakur, who went by Joanne Deborah Chesimard before changing her name, died Thursday in the capital city of Havana due to “health conditions and advanced age,” Cuba’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement. Shakur’s daughter, Kakuya Shakur, confirmed her mother’s death in a Facebook post.

Officials in New Jersey, where Shakur had been arrested, convicted and imprisoned, said she was 78…

On May 2, 1973, Shakur and two others were pulled over by New Jersey State Police troopers because the car they were driving had a broken taillight.

A gunfight ensued and one of the troopers, Werner Foerster, was killed and another was wounded. One of Shakur’s companions was also killed.

Shakur’s prison stint was short-lived, though. In November 1979, members of the Black Liberation Army, posing as visitors, stormed the Clinton Correctional Facility for women, took two guards hostage and commandeered a prison van to break her out.

Just three days after Democrats and the media made a huge deal about Jimmy Kimmel’s big comeback, his ratings have utterly evaporated. Since the beginning of this week when he returned to the air, his ratings have dropped by 70 percent.

It looks like his much-hyped return was little more than hype. A sugar-high lasts longer than this.

Jimmy Kimmel won — for now.

ABC reinstated the late-night host early this week after a brief suspension, and Sinclair agreed to stop preempting “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on its ABC affiliates effective immediately. Nexstar, which continues to block the show on its 32 affiliates, is likely to follow.

Station owners like Sinclair and Nexstar never had much long-term leverage. ABC could eventually cancel and replace its affiliates ahead of the 2027 Super Bowl, which would significantly damage Sinclair and Nexstar’s annual revenue…

Still, Kimmel’s long-term future with ABC remains a question. For those wondering if Kimmel could retain his newfound momentum, his ratings on Wednesday suggest no.

While Wednesday’s average of 2.4 million is well ahead of Kimmel’s norm (1.7 million), it marked a near 70% drop from Tuesday’s record 6.3 million.

Late-night ratings on Wednesday:

– Gutfeld! (Fox News): 3,233,000
– Jimmy Kimmel Live! (ABC): 2,414,000
– The Late Show with Stephen Colbert (CBS): 1,988,000
– The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon (NBC): 1,244,000

Now you see why CNN media analyst Brian Stelter, who so badly wants Kimmel to notice him, is touting Kimmel’s YouTube numbers this morning, not his television audience.

Bobby Burack, the writer of the OutKick piece, tweeted this:

Jimmy Kimmel lost 70% of its viewers from Tuesday to Wednesday.

From 6.4 million to 2.4 million. I expect Kimmel to be back below 2 million by Monday.

Greg Gutfeld is already kicking all of their butts in ratings again. People only tuned in to see if Kimmel would apologize, which he didn’t. He can now go back to being irrelevant again.
