In 2022, the journalist Terence Jeffrey wrote about a one-time pro-life political candidate who became an unequivocal abortion advocate during the course of his five decades in Congress.

In 1982, according to Jeffrey, a Springfield, IL, man running for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives sent out a campaign letter that said: “My record of opposition to abortion on demand has been public record for eight years.”

That man, Dick Durbin, won his election that year. He was a pro-life Democrat, a term that wasn’t an oxymoron back then.

In 1989, in a letter to a constituent, then-Rep. Durbin wrote: “I believe we should end abortion on demand, and at every opportunity I have translated this belief into votes in the House of Representatives.”

But by the time he was sworn into the U.S. Senate in 1997, Durbin’s mind became corrupted about abortion and he has never looked back. His votes in that chamber demonstrate that he is among the most extreme abortion advocates in the federal government.

He voted against a bill to protect babies from the brutality of a partial-birth abortion and another to protect them from dismemberment abortion. He voted against advancing a bill to mandate life-saving care for newborns who survive an abortion, saying it “targets and intimidates reproductive healthcare providers.” He even voted against a bill to make it a federal crime to harm an unborn child while committing another crime.

His abortion advocacy is at the center of a controversy currently roiling the Catholic Church. Chicago Cardinal Blase Cupich has announced plans to honor Durbin with a lifetime achievement award for another of his causes – immigration – at a November fundraiser.

This is not only outrageous, it is confusing for Catholics, whose Church teaches that human life is sacred from the moment we are conceived until our natural death. To clarify how the American Church should treat lawmakers who claim allegiance to the faith while also advocating for the legal murder of the unborn, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops in 2004 issued a statement called Catholics in Political Life that very clearly stated the following:

“The Catholic community and Catholic institutions should not honor those who act in defiance of our fundamental moral principles. They should not be given awards, honors or platforms which would suggest support for their actions.”

“They should not be given awards” are words that are not open to interpretation, which surely Cardinal Cupich understands. But instead of backing down, he’s doubling down, telling Catholic News Agency that now lives in the Chicago Archdiocese and he is merely following the advice of the Vatican by engaging with a politician within his jurisdiction to better understand his comprehension of Catholic teaching.

Bestowing a lifetime achievement award to a man who has demonstrated nothing but contempt for the unborn and those us who defend them goes beyond engagement, and Cardinal Cupich knows that, too.

American Catholics had every reason to be proud with the election of Pope Leo XIV – a Chicago native! – in May. But what we feel today is a far cry from pride.

It appears that James Comey could have a familiar cellmate when he is finally sent to prison for lying under oath to Congress and the American people.

Former FBI Director Chris Wray lied and lectured House Republicans for accusing the FBI of planting informants/operatives/agents inside the massive crowd of Trump supporters on January 6, 2021.

In a bold statement that directly contradicts multiple official sources, FBI Director Christopher Wray testified before Congress in July 2023 that he “does not believe” undercover FBI agents were present at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.

Wray’s statement came during a tense exchange with Representative Andy Biggs (R-AZ), who specifically asked about the number of undercover agents in the Capitol vicinity on the infamous day.

Wray stated that he could not provide such a figure and even expressed doubt about the presence of undercover agents at all.

“I’m not sure there were undercover agents on scene,” Wray responded to Biggs. “As I sit here right now, I do not believe there were undercover agents on.”

Biggs wrote on Twitter that “Wray will be held accountable for this lie.”

“FBI Director Wray just told me he “does not believe” there were any undercover FBI agents in or around the U.S. Capitol on January 6. This claim has been already debunked—including by the former U.S. Capitol Police Chief,” Biggs added.

The Director’s statement is in stark contrast to facts previously revealed by the Washington D.C. FBI Field Office. According to their confirmed reports, a number of undercover officers, confidential informants, and FBI assets were indeed present at the U.S. Capitol on January 6th.

On Thursday night, the FBI finally acknowledged it had 275 plainclothes agents in the massive crowds on Jan. 6, 2021. This was hundreds more than was previously reported.

The Blaze reported:

A senior congressional source said the number is not necessarily a surprise, since the FBI often embeds countersurveillance personnel at large events.

But given the FBI’s until-now steadfast refusal to disclose the level of its presence at the Capitol, the figure might still be viewed with skepticism in some quarters.

The news comes in the wake of claims by the U.S. Department of Justice Office of Inspector General that the FBI had no undercover personnel in the Jan. 6 crowds.

“We found no evidence in the materials we reviewed or the testimony we received showing or suggesting that the FBI had undercover employees in the various protest crowds, or at the Capitol, on January 6,” the DOJ OIG said in an 88-page report released in December 2024.

We currently have no idea how many federal, state and local government operatives were working undercover on January 6 but it looks like it is close to 100 operatives leading the charge on the US Capitol on January 6, 2021.

Recent court documents reveal the Biden Department of Justice admitting to at least 40 undercover operatives with the Proud Boys on January 6.

In September 2022, TGP learned the FBI was running operatives inside The Oath Keepers on January 6th. The DOJ sprung this on the Oath Keepers members before their trial in Washington DC before a Kangaroo Court. The US government finally admitted in this letter they sent out before the trial that they were running Confidential Human Sources (CHS) inside the Oath Keepers organization on January 6.

In November 2022,  the FBI finally admitted they had 8 informants inside the Proud Boys organization on January 6 and likely more.

The DOJ admitted to 40 government CHS agents were undercover on January 6th.

Proud Boys defendant Dominic Pezzola recently reported this admission.

And the number keeps growing – to 50 or more that they are admitting to.

As public discourse around these events continues to unfold, Wray’s claims stand in stark opposition to confirmed facts. It remains to be seen how these contradictions will be addressed and what consequences they will have for Director Wray and the FBI as a whole.

On Thursday evening, the Department of Justice finally dropped the hammer on one of the most crooked swamp creatures in American history.

Disgraced former FBI Director James Comey was indicted on two felony charges: making false statements and obstruction of justice.

A grand jury in the Eastern District of Virginia returned two counts against Comey, just days after President Trump demanded that his DOJ act “now” to hold Comey and other corrupt operatives accountable.

James Comey built his career on dishonesty and abuse of power. He repeatedly lied to Congress and the FISA court to secure illegal warrants against President Trump and his allies during the hoax “Russiagate” witch hunt.

Comey knew as early as 2016 that the Steele Dossier was fabricated opposition research, yet he used it anyway to weaponize the FBI against a sitting President.

For years, he operated as a partisan hitman inside the Bureau, greenlighting lawless spying operations and leaking strategically to the press to damage Trump.

President Trump celebrated the indictment in a fiery statement released moments after the news broke:

“JUSTICE IN AMERICA! One of the worst human beings this Country has ever been exposed to is James Comey, the former Corrupt Head of the FBI. Today he was indicted by a Grand Jury on two felony counts for various illegal and unlawful acts. He has been so bad for our Country, for so long, and is now at the beginning of being held responsible for his crimes against our Nation. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

In typical swamp fashion, a defiant Comey lashed out in a video posted Thursday evening after his indictment, playing the victim and painting himself as some kind of martyr.

“My family and I have known for years that there are costs to standing up to Donald Trump, but we couldn’t imagine ourselves living any other way.

We will not live on our knees, and you shouldn’t either. Somebody that I love dearly recently said that fear is the tool of a tyrant, and she’s right, but I’m not afraid, and I hope you’re not either.

I hope instead you are engaged, you are paying attention, and you will vote like your beloved country depends upon it, which it does.

My heart is broken for the Department of Justice, but I have great confidence in the federal judicial system, and I’m innocent. So let’s have a trial and keep the faith.”

Now, two sources told CNN there was an initial expectation that Comey would surrender Friday, though there was no immediate arrest warrant filed in court.

According to the far-left network, a summons has been issued for Comey to appear in federal court.

Actor William Shatner has spoken out to “correct” reports that he experienced a medical emergency and was rushed to the hospital.

On Thursday, TMZ reported Shatner was rushed to the hospital Wednesday after suffering a medical emergency.

In the report TMZ shared emergency medical crews arrived at his home on Wednesday and the Star Trek star was trsnported to a local hospital by a LAFD ambulance.

The reported noted, Shatner’s agent, Harry Gold, confirmed the actor had a medical episode after having issue with his blood sugar.

Shatner in a post on Instragm has addressed the reports and wrote, “Rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated.”

He added, “I over indulged. I thank you all for caring but I’m perfectly fine.”

William Shatner is reassuring fans that he is in good health after reports spread that the actor was hospitalized.

The “Star Trek” star addressed the topic in a tongue-and-cheek Instagram post Thursday that featured a picture of him with the caption, “Rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated.”

The post’s description also read, “I over indulged. I thank you all for caring but I’m perfectly fine. I keep telling you all: don’t trust tabloids or AI!”

Rumors about Shatner’s health scare circulated on social media Thursday after TMZ reported that the “T.J. Hooker” star was rushed to the hospital Wednesday after suffering a medical emergency. The outlet reported Shatner’s agent, Harry Gold, said the actor had an issue with his blood sugar while at his Los Angeles home late Wednesday afternoon.

In an interview in 2024, Shatner revealed a doctor told him him he had only five months to live after being diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma but against all odds he was able to beat the cancer..

William Shatner is currently 94 years old.
