U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has publicly accused Politico senior legal affairs reporter Josh Gerstein of inciting violence against federal agents.

The allegation stems from Gerstein’s commentary on an ongoing citizen journalist investigation into alleged fraud in Minnesota’s social services programs, particularly involving federally funded home daycares.

Gerstein was commenting on videos posted by 23-year-old conservative journalist Nick Shirley, who visited sites claimed to be Somali childcare facilities receiving federal funds but appearing to operate without any children present.

On Monday, Gerstein questioned the tactics of the “amateur effort to knock on doors of home daycares.”

Stand-your-ground laws, as referenced by Gerstein, allow individuals to use deadly force if they perceive an imminent threat in places where they have a legal right to be.

However, Minnesota’s self-defense laws permit force inside the home but require retreat in public spaces before resorting to violence, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures. Someone knocking on your door, without forcing themselves inside, would not apply.

ICE responded sharply on Tuesday via its official X account, writing to Gerstein, “You would think a ‘Senior Legal Affairs Reporter’ for POLITICO would know better than to tweet something inciting violence against federal agents.”

ICE’s post gained over 16,000 “likes” by the following afternoon.

Gerstein fired back later that day, defending his statement. He wrote, “To observe that something is likely to happen or there’s a serious risk of it happening is not to advocate for it happening.”

As of Wednesday afternoon, no formal charges have been filed against Gerstein, and Politico has not issued a public statement on the matter.

New York’s far-left mayor-elect, Zohran Mamdani, will be sworn in to office using a Quran at an abandoned subway station.

According to The New York Times, Mamdani will be sworn in at midnight on New Year’s Eve inside a decommissioned subway station beneath City Hall that once served as a turnaround for the No. 5 train.

He said the unconventional setting was chosen for its symbolism, framing the ceremony as the start of what he called “inauguration of a new era.”

“It was a physical monument to a city that dared to be both beautiful and build great things that would transform working peoples’ lives,” Mamdani said in a statement.

“That ambition need not be a memory confined only to our past, nor must it be isolated only to the tunnels beneath city hall: it will be the purpose of the administration fortunate enough to serve New Yorkers from the building above.”

He added that he was “humbled by the opportunity to lead millions of New Yorkers into a new era of opportunity, and honored to carry forward our city’s legacy of greatness.”

The station opened in 1904 as one of the city’s original 28 subway stops and was taken out of service in 1945 amid system upgrades.

It later received landmark status from New York City in 1979 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.

New York Attorney General Letitia James is set to administer Mamdani’s initial oath of office, followed by a second ceremony on the steps of City Hall later Wednesday.

That event will include a separate swearing-in by Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders and conclude with a block party along Broadway.

Mamdani, whose politics blend a bizarre brand of Islamism with far-left socialism, will be sworn in using a Quran passed down from his grandfather.

He will also use a separate Quran once owned by Arturo Schomburg, a noted Black author and historian.

For the larger public ceremony at City Hall, Mamdani will instead take the oath on Qurans that belonged to both his grandfather and grandmother.

Attorney General Pam Bondi just handed the fake news media and radical Democrats a gift-wrapped ammunition to attack President Trump’s unbreakable war on drugs.

Bondi was out there bragging about the Trump administration’s heroic efforts to crush the fentanyl crisis, seize millions of deadly doses at the border, and prosecute cartel scum. But her own graph shows the overdose rates plummeting under crooked BIDEN’S watch.

“Since day one, the Trump Administration and this Department of Justice have been fighting to end the drug epidemic in our country,” she wrote.

“President Trump closed the border. DOJ agents have seized hundreds of millions of potentially lethal fentanyl doses. We are aggressively prosecuting drug traffickers and cartel leaders. These are the results.”

“Elections have consequences,” she added. “Electing President Trump and enforcing the law is saving American lives.”

The chart, straight from the National Institutes of Health, shows national overdose deaths dropping from about 32.5 per 100,000 to 25 between October 2023 and October 2024. Every region – Northeast, Midwest, South, and West – allegedly saw huge declines DURING BIDEN’S FAILED PRESIDENCY.

This fiasco comes at the WORST possible time for Bondi, who’s already under fire from REAL Trump patriots for her bungled handling of the Jeffrey Epstein sex trafficking files. Despite the Epstein Files Transparency Act’s clear deadline, a ton of those explosive documents are allegedly STILL hidden away.

Additionally, Pam Bondi is facing criticism for the DOJ’s alleged inaction on Minnesota fraud, which has been ongoing since 2013.

Home surveillance video shows the moment a speeding car crashed through a backyard wall, flipped over, and ejected the female driver into a pool.

The crash occurred on December 15.

The driver miraculously survived after she failed to stop and “hit a block wall” before going airborne.

It is unclear if the driver has been charged.

Fox 5 Las Vegas reported:

A suspected impaired driver crashed into the backyard of a Southern Nevada backyard, with the car going airborne and hitting a pool house roof before the driver was ejected and landed in a swimming pool, according to police and surveillance video that captured the incident.

The incident happened on the night of Dec. 15.

Homeowner Cletis Reed heard the crash and came outside to find his backyard destroyed and the driver floating in his pool.

“It sounded like a freight train. I figured something happened in the street and I come out to see my entire backyard destroyed,” Reed said. “I mean everything was just blown up. The patio is on the ground, the lady is floating in my pool.”

Reed said he was moments away from getting into his hot tub, which was located next to the wall that was destroyed in the crash.

“I popped the cover on and I was like, you know, I gotta tell my wife something. And by the grace of God I’m here and the patio goes bam. I would have been dead,” Reed said. “It would have killed me.”

Dramatic footage shows the ejected driver moaning after landing in the shallow end of the pool.

The homeowner, Cletis Reed, rushed outside to see his entire backyard destroyed and a woman floating in his pool.

Reed said the woman, who is believed to be impaired at the time of the crash, was conscious when he pulled her from the pool.

“She kept floating face up, she flipped over face down, she snuck under water. She was conscious, but she was moaning and groaning. We get her out, God’s witness, she stands up 15 minutes later getting interviewed by police,” Reed told Fox 5 Vegas.

Reed said the crash caused an estimated $300,000 in damage to his backyard.

On Tuesday, Socialist New York Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani announced the appointment of Ramzi Kassem as the city’s top attorney.

Kassem gained notoriety for defending al-Qaeda terrorist Ahmed al-Darbi when he served as lead counsel.

In 2014, al-Darbi pled guilty in connection with an al-Qaeda terrorist plot to bomb a French oil tanker near Yemen in 2002, leaving a civilian dead and several others injured. He was convicted in 2017 and ultimately transferred to Saudi Arabia in 2018.

Al-Darbi’s brother-in-law was Khalid al-Mihdhar, one of the five hijackers on American Airlines Flight 77, which crashed into the Pentagon during the September 11, 2001 attacks.

The New York Post reports that in 2009, “Kassem founded a legal clinic at CUNY, which offers free legal representation to Muslims and other communities in New York City.”

The nonprofit, Creating Law Enforcement Accountability and Responsibility (CLEAR) is largely funded by progressive philanthropist George Soros’ Open Society Foundations, which have given the clinic more than $3 million, public records show.

The Associated Press and The New York Times reported at the time that Kassem said, “While it may not make him whole, my hope is that repatriation at least marks the end of injustice for Ahmed… He had 16 long and painful years in captivity.”

Kassem is also part of the legal team representing radical Islamist Mahmoud Khalil.

In his announcement, Mamdani said, “I am delighted to announce that I am naming Ramzi Kassem as Chief Counsel.”

“Ramzi will be joining the administration from CUNY, where he serves as a professor of law. Government service is no novel concept for Ramzi, who served as a senior policy advisor for President Biden from 2022 to 2024.”

“He has deep experience arguing in court, including before the Supreme Court.”

“I will turn to Ramzi for his remarkable experience and his commitment to defending those too often abandoned by our legal system.”

“City Hall will be stronger with him in it, and our work of building a more prosperous city for all will have a powerful advocate.”

“My sincere hope is that New Yorkers who have long felt on the margins of this city…the homeless veterans straining to survive, the patient searching for the care they need, an immigrant trying to get by, will feel that they now have leaders in their corner who understand their struggles and care to fight for them.”
