People were evacuated from the main venue at the World Economic Forum after a fire broke out on Wednesday.
Over 60 heads of state gathered at Davos 2026 under the theme of A Spirit of Dialogue.
“This week, hundreds of top political leaders from around the world, including close to 65 heads of state and government, are gathering in Davos, Switzerland, for the World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting 2026,” the World Economic Forum said.
“The world leaders are meeting against the most complex geopolitical backdrop in decades, with rising fragmentation and rapid technological change transforming the global economy,” WEF said.
President Trump arrived to Switzerland early Wednesday to outline his bold vision at Davos.

Later Wednesday evening a fire broke out next to the main venue.
According to reporters, attendees were coughing before firefighters evacuated the main venue.
“We have just been evacuated from the Congress Center,” Fox Business reporter Edward Lawrence said on X.
“Emergency crews trying to determine what is causing a smell that is making some people in our area cough,” he said.

Minneapolis has been the scene the this month of organized harassment campaigns egged on by Democrat officials and violent protests against ICE and other federal agents enforcing immigration laws. One anti-ICE activist, 37-year-old Renee Good, was fatally shot by an ICE agent after she hit him with her vehicle while out impeding ICE.
Last Sunday, dozens of anti-ICE activists accompanied by former CNN host Don Lemon invaded a Christian church service and terrorized family worshipers over a report one of the church leaders works with ICE. The Justice Department is investigating the incident for federal civil rights violations under the FACE Act.
The DOJ has also and has subpoenaed several Minnesota Democrat elected officials for allegedly conspiring to impede ICE, including Governor Tim Walz, Attorney General Keith Ellison and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey.
Minnesota is also being investigated over massive fraud schemes, largely perpetrated by Somali immigrants, that ripped off billions of dollars from federally funded welfare and Medicaid programs.
Mayor Frey, who two weeks ago said, “ICE, get the f*** out of Minneapolis,” issued a milder statement on Vance’s visit (Politico excerpt):
“People are free to come to Minneapolis, including the Vice President — that’s how this country works,” Frey said in a Wednesday statement. “But if the Vice President actually wanted to help, he should be focused on stopping federal agents from targeting and harming our neighbors in ways that clearly cross constitutional lines. That’s what Minneapolis wants.
MSNOW reported Wednesday that active duty troops with a military police brigade at Fort Bragg, North Carolina were ordered to prepare to deploy to Minneapolis–but have not been ordered in yet. Airborne troops in Alaska are also reported on standby for deployment to Minneapolis.
Vance’s stop in Minneapolis is part of a two-state Midwest swing on Thursday. The Vice President is also scheduled to give a speech in Toledo, Ohio on the positive effects of President Trump’s economic policies. Times for the speeches have not yet been publicly released.

Anchor baby Rep. Delia Ramirez (D-IL) on Wednesday announced during a self-promoting rant at a House Homeland Security Committee hearing that she is introducing the Melt ICE Act to effectively defund ICE.

Ramirez has also declared that she is “a proud Guatemalan before I’m an American,” openly admitting that her allegiance is to illegal invaders, not American citizens.
She and her entire family of illegal alien criminals should be deported.
“DHS and ICE, it’s not rogue. Let me tell you why, because from its establishment, Congress empowered DHS to violate our rights under the pretense of securing our safety,” she said, claiming that the surveillance of illegal aliens and left-wing domestic terrorists is “a threat to our collective safety.” However, she had no problem with the Biden Regime spying on Americans, designating them for extra surveillance at airports, and monitoring their social media accounts while leaving the border wide open.
During the unhinged rant, Ramirez claimed that “DHS is being used as a weapon to be pointed towards anyone the government considers a Public Enemy.” She continued, “So, we must take the weapon away and hold those who have allowed our communities to be terrorized accountable.”
She then questioned Ha Nguyen McNeill, Senior Official Performing the Duties of the Administrator of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), which previously weaponized the Quiet Skies program to spy on conservatives and Republican lawmakers, and Dr. Madhu Gottumukkala,Acting Director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), which targeted and censored conservatives under Biden, over their cooperation with ICE.
Ramirez ironically accused TSA under Trump of “making life miserable for people that have every right to travel domestically, and who pose no threat to aviation,” and “working with ICE to terrorize their communities.” She then expressed outrage that CISA is no longer working with social media companies to spy on and censor conservatives on the internet and is allegedly providing resources to the Federal Protective Service, US Marshals, and ICE.

DHS was intentionally established with an overbroad mission and unchecked power, which has been expanded by Republicans with a blank check, unlimited personnel, and no guardrails whatsoever.
And Trump, with his authoritarian tendencies, is only making visible what so many communities have already known to be true. DHS is a threat to our collective safety and funding it only fuels our destruction and our human suffering. It’s why 32 people have died in detention in ICE’s deadliest year yet. US citizens are being shot and killed, and the agency doesn’t even know who they’re hiring and doesn’t seem to even care who they’re hiring. Yet, Trump’s campaign donors are profiting off the pain of our neighbors, including children, and so today I say enough.
I am introducing today the Melt ICE Act that would prohibit DHS from using funds to detain or monitor immigrants, effectively limiting ICE’s authority and ability to continue to cause pain and terror, while redirecting the funding that they have, taxpayer dollars that they’re using to kill us citizens, back into the communities impacted by ICE’s terror through wraparound services because we know that DHS is being used as a weapon to be pointed towards anyone the government considers a Public Enemy, and fascism always requires a Public Enemy. So, we must take the weapon away and hold those who have allowed our communities to be terrorized accountable.
This is just one of many insane attacks Ramirez has launched against ICE and immigration enforcement officers.

Ghislaine Maxwell to Testify Before House Oversight Committee Next Month

House Oversight Chairman James Comer confirmed Wednesday that Ghislaine Maxwell will be deposed by the committee on February 9 in connection with its investigation into Jeffrey Epstein.
POLITICO reports that Comer revealed the development during a committee session addressing potential contempt action against Bill and Hillary Clinton.
The action is currently proceeding after both declined to appear for previously scheduled depositions tied to the Epstein inquiry.
