“Enemies of the State”: Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni Condemns Antifa Rioters Who Savagely Beat Policeman During Protest March Over December Eviction From Illegally Occupied Building in Turin
January 31, 2026

Video posted by Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni shows Antifa terrorists swarming and savagely beating a policeman in Turin on Saturday during a march protesting the December eviction of activists from an illegally occupied building known as the Askatasuna social center that had been taken over by leftists about thirty years ago.

The rioters aimed a green laser at and repeatedly punched, kicked and rained down blows with hammers on the defenseless officer after he fell and tried to get away from the mob.

Translation of Meloni’s statement:

What happened today in Turin, during the demonstration by the antagonists against the eviction of the Askatasuna building, is serious and unacceptable.

A legitimate eviction of an illegally occupied property was used as a pretext to unleash violence, arson, the throwing of firecrackers and organized assaults, up to the point of striking a police armored vehicle. The images of the assaulted officer speak for themselves: we are not dealing with protesters, but with individuals acting as enemies of the State.

The ones who paid the price were the law enforcement officers, forced to face a real urban guerrilla warfare, and some journalists, attacked while doing their job. To them goes my full solidarity, together with that extended to the citizens who were damaged, who paid the price of blind and deliberate violence.

This is not dissent nor protest: these are violent assaults with the objective of striking the State and those who represent it. And for this reason they must be treated for what they are, with no discounts and no justifications.

The Government has done its part, strengthening the tools to combat impunity. Now it is essential that the Judiciary also fully does its own, so that episodes of laxity do not repeat themselves which in the past have annulled sacred measures against those who devastate our cities and attack those who defend them.

Defending legality is not a provocation: it is a duty. The State does not retreat in the face of the violence of fake revolutionaries accustomed to impunity and stands, without ambiguity, on the side of those who wear a uniform, those who provide information and those who respect the rules of civil coexistence.

Unedited version:

Matteo Salvini, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, posted video of the riot, adding, “Delinquents, those from Askatasuna: worse than them are only those who defend them, coddle them, justify them or protect them. Solidarity with the women and men of the Police Forces, full speed ahead with arrests, evictions and a new security package.”

Background on the Askatasuna social center via a Freedom News UK report (excerpt) on the December eviction:

The Askatasuna social centre in Turin, Italy was evicted early this morning, bringing to an end nearly 30 years of occupation. The operation involved the DIGOS political police and armoured vehicles, with several streets sealed off. Police entered the four-storey former municipal building building early in the morning to carry out searches and then sealed the premises. According to activists, six people were inside the building at the time of the raid. The homes of around ten activists linked to the centre and to student collectives were raided at the same time, in connection with recent Palestine solidarity protests including an action at the headquarters of arms manufacturer Leonardo.

…The mayor of Turin, Stefano Lo Russo, said the city had withdrawn from a “collaboration pact” with Askatasuna that had been in place since early 2024, when the municipal council formally recognised the occupied building as a “common good” and began a process towards shared management. The mayor’s office stated that inspections by public security authorities had found violations of the conditions of the agreement.

Askatasuna, whose name means “freedom” in Basque, has been a central reference point for the city’s autonomous and radical left since 1996. Over the years it hosted political assemblies, cultural events, concerts and community services, including housing advice, children’s activities and mutual aid projects. The centre was also closely involved in major protest cycles in Turin, from the No TAV movement in the Susa Valley to anti-war and anti-fascist mobilisations.

Report on the Saturday’s riot via “L’Unione Sarda (excerpt):

High tension in Turin during the demonstration for the Askatasuna social centre , which was evicted in recent weeks.

Molotov cocktails, flares, and fireworks were thrown by protesters, and tear gas was fired in response by the police, who formed a tight cordon blocking their path.

Autonomous protesters and anarchists, some with their faces covered, were in action on Corso Regina Margherita. The police then began advancing, both with personnel and a water cannon, toward the opposing groups, attempting to force them back. Several dumpsters were set on fire.

The autonomists also raided the Einaudi Campus university building, where further clashes were reported, with objects being thrown and police charging.

Fox News segment featuring Scott Presler discussing the new push for senators to pass the Save Act, alongside the host.
Scott Presler pushed the SAVE Act on FOX News.

Republican activist Scott Presler joined Kayleigh McEnany on FOX News to push the Save Act. Presler told FOX News that there are already 48 co-sponsors with Mike Lee sponsoring the bill. But Senate Majority Leader John Thune needs to bring it up for a vote.

The Save act requires:
** Proof of US citizenship to vote,
** Mandates states to verify the citizenship of voters
** Requires states to remove non-citizens from the voter rolls

These are basic rules to help secure our elections. Democrats are against them, of course.

Scott is urging everyone to continue to call their senators and ask them to make a public statement about moving the Save Act to the Senate floor.

Scott Presler: So as it stands right now, we have 48 co-sponsors with Mike Lee sponsoring the bill. And as you just showed the clip earlier, Senate Majority Leader Thune even indicated support for the Save Act.

So here’s where we are right now. First, let’s start with the Save Act, and I’ll be brief. I need everybody to continue to call your senators and ask them to make a public statement about bringing the Save Act to the Senate floor and forcing any senator that is opposed to requiring proof of citizenship to register to vote must tell the American people publicly on the floor why they are against that bill. That’s step number one. Step number two. So what Senator Mike Lee has done is introduce the Save America Act, which is not only the proof of citizenship requirement, but photo voter ID…

… So my warning to members of Congress that are not willing to pass election reform at the federal level, which is constitutional, is either Republicans allow for proof of citizenship and photo voter ID, or it’s very likely that Republican voters will not come out on Tuesday, November third, and we very likely could lose the House of Representatives, and you could even lose Senate. The senatorships in Alaska, Maine, North Carolina. And if we lose three seats, Kaylee, it’s 50-50, and we lose the majority. So to our beautiful Senate Republican colleagues that are in the majority right now, I ask you, bring the Save Act to the floor, and any senator against proof of citizenship must tell the American people publicly on the floor why they are against it.

Clinton Judge Orders Release of 5-Year-Old Liam Ramos and Illegal Alien Father From ICE Detention Center in Texas
January 31, 2026

Smiling young boy with short dark hair wearing a black shirt, set against a blue background.

A federal judge on Saturday ordered the release of 5-year-old Liam Ramos and his illegal alien father from an ICE detention center in Texas.

Five-year-old Liam was taken into ICE ‘custody’ after his illegal alien parents abandoned him in Minnesota while fleeing agents.

The fake news claimed the 5-year-old child was “detained” by ICE and taken away from his parents.

The child was taken to the Dilley Immigration Processing Center in San Antonio, Texas, after he was abandoned by his illegal alien parents.

On Saturday, Judge Fred Biery, a Clinton appointee ordered Liam Ramos and his father Adrian Alexander Conejo Arias released.

Fox News reported:

A federal judge on Saturday gave the Trump administration three days to release a 5-year-old Ecuadorian boy and his father from immigration detention in Texas following an emergency request.

Videos of Liam Conejo Ramos, 5, being taken into custody along with his father, Adrian Alexander Conejo Arias, by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in Minneapolis earlier this month sparked outrage.

U.S. District Judge Fred Biery, a Clinton nominee, wrote in his ruling that “the case has its genesis in the ill-conceived and incompetently-implemented government pursuit of daily deportation quotas, apparently even if it requires traumatizing children,” according to the order obtained by Fox News Digital.

He invoked the Declaration of Independence in the ruling, saying, “Thirty-three-year-old Thomas Jefferson enumerated grievances against a would-be authoritarian king over our nascent nation. Among others were: 1. ‘He has sent hither Swarms of Officers to harass our People.’”

Coast Guard crews have searched continuously since receiving an emergency position-indicating radio beacon activation Friday morning from the 72-foot fishing vessel, approximately 25 miles off the coast of Cape Ann, Massachusetts. Seven people were reported to be aboard the vessel.

During the search, Coast Guard air and surface crews located a debris field near the beacon’s reported position, recovered one unresponsive individual from the water, and located the vessel’s life raft, which was deployed but unoccupied.

“Coast Guard crews conducted coordinated search patterns based on weather conditions, sea state and available evidence and covered approximately 1,047 square miles over 24 hours using multiple aircraft, cutters and small boats.” US Coast Guard News Reported.

There is an ongoing investigation as to what happened to the fishing boat. The Coast Guard Northeast District is in charge of the investigation.

LAPD Chief Jim McConnell during a press conference on Friday.

The Los Angeles Police Department LAPD) will not enforce a California law that prohibits federal immigration agents from wearing masks during enforcement operations.

During an appearance on Good Day LA, LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell warned that doing so could endanger officers and escalate volatile situations.

“From a practical standpoint, our role when we get to a scene is to de-escalate the situation, not to ramp it up,” McDonnell said.

“Trying to enforce a misdemeanor violation on another law enforcement agency, that’s not going to end well. And that’s not going to be good.”

“From a public safety standpoint for anybody in that environment,” he continued. “Potentially, you have a crowd that could be agitated and trying to get their point across.”

“And then you have the ICE agents who are doing their job. And for us to come in then and try and create an enforcement action for wearing a mask, it’s not a safe way to do business.”

At a press conference on Friday, McDonnell said that enforcing Newsom’s law “doesn’t make any sense.”

“The reality of one armed agency approaching another armed agency to create conflict over something that would be a misdemeanor at best or an infraction.”

The law in question was signed by Newsom in September 2025 and makes it a misdemeanor for local, state, or federal law enforcement officers to wear masks or personal disguises while performing official duties.

“We have the right to stand up and push back,” Newsom declared at the time. “This is a disgrace, this is an outrage, what we have allowed to happen in this country.”

The only exceptions to the law include agents who are operating undercover or using protective equipment during tactical operations.

The legislation followed a series of immigration raids across Los Angeles, during which federal agents were seen wearing face coverings.

While the Trump administration has acknowledged that the wearing of face coverings is undesirable, they are worn to protect agents’ families against harassment, doxxing, and threats from far-left immigration activists.
