On Monday, Ilhan Omar wrote on X, “Sorry, Trump, your support is collapsing and you’re panicking. Right on cue, you’re deflecting from your failures with lies and conspiracy theories about me. Years of ‘investigations’ have found nothing. Get your goons out of Minnesota.”

House Republicans have opened an investigation into the finances of Ilhan Omar, focusing on a sharp rise in her household wealth in recent years. Staff attorneys with the House Oversight Committee are leading the probe, examining Omar’s financial disclosures, outside income, and business ties to determine whether any federal ethics or disclosure rules were violated.

The inquiry is in its early stages, and no formal allegations have been filed. Investigators are examining how Omar and her husband, Tim Mynett, went from nearly broke to being worth up to $30 million in just one year, according to 2024 disclosure documents.

The review is also expected to scrutinize Mynett’s consulting work and any financial relationships connected to political organizations. Separately, Tom Homan stated that the Trump administration is investigating Omar for alleged immigration fraud, with a fraud investigator claiming there is no doubt after reviewing the files. Federal law enforcement is also conducting its own investigation, with a source stating that authorities are examining all politicians potentially connected to fraud in Minnesota.

One of the more common types of immigration fraud in the Somali community is chain immigration, where individuals falsely claim someone is a sibling or spouse when, in actuality, they are not. This is the specific allegation many have made that Omar married her brother to enter the United States under a spousal visa. It is notable that she is vehemently opposed to any investigation into Somali immigration fraud despite clear evidence that such fraud is widespread.

When asked about Tom Homan’s claims that she is being investigated for immigration fraud, Omar called him “sick” and said she does not know what is being investigated in connection with her, insisting that investigators will “absolutely not” find anything incriminating. Omar also accused President Trump of having a “creepy” obsession with her after he attacked her and referred to the Somali community as “garbage.”

Republicans have tied the Somali immigration investigation to Minnesota’s broader Somali welfare and social services fraud scandal, which federal prosecutors estimate could cost taxpayers up to $9 billion. House Majority Whip Tom Emmer called the probe overdue, alleging that Omar benefited financially while large-scale fraud harmed the state.

Omar has said that individuals involved in the fraud donated to her campaign but that she returned the money years ago. She has also claimed she was one of the first members of Congress to send a letter to the Attorney General requesting an investigation into what she described as reprehensible fraud occurring within the program.

It is ironic that she allegedly returned this tainted money while simultaneously claiming that no fraud exists within the Somali community. At the same time, she has accused the Trump administration of scapegoating Somalis rather than addressing legitimate criminal activity.

Regarding questions about the source of her own wealth, Omar consistently maintains that years of investigations have found no wrongdoing on her part and characterizes President Trump’s accusations as politically motivated deflection tactics. She has not issued detailed rebuttals to specific financial disclosure questions, instead maintaining that her increase in wealth is tied to her husband’s venture capital business.

Beyond the Somali community, Ilhan Omar has opposed ICE deportations all along and has encouraged her constituents to protest. She has claimed that anger is justified over the way federal officers have treated Minnesotans. However, it is arguable whether illegal aliens should be considered Minnesotans, and it is also unclear why it is so important to Omar and other liberals to shield illegal aliens from deportation.

At the same time, she claims to care about the people she serves, yet she encourages them to continue placing themselves in harm’s way by filming and monitoring officers, despite the fact that this behavior can easily lead to violent encounters, as it did with Renee Nicole Good and Alex Pretti.

Omar said it was “not acceptable” for President Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem to publicly condemn Renee Nicole Good before a full investigation was completed. However, video and witness evidence confirm that Good had spent the day following and harassing ICE agents, conduct Omar approved of and arguably encouraged.

In a television interview, Omar said she was “appalled,” claiming that nothing like this would ever happen in Somalia. She has frequently spoken Somali at public events and has appeared with the Somali flag. She has also blamed President Trump and the United States for mistreating Somali immigrants, the bulk of whom live on public assistance. It is ironic that she portrays Somalia as so wonderful, yet so many people want to leave it to live in the United States, which they simultaneously claim is terrible.

To sum up, she is an elected official who supports illegal immigration, decries immigration enforcement, opposes fraud investigations, and frequently appears with a Somali flag.

It is so infuriating it makes you want to move to Somalia and open a day care.

Walz and Frey Boast Anti-Civilizational Ideologies

Crossing the border illegally is a crime; it can be prosecuted as a felony.

A nation without borders cannot claim to be a country, for if there is no boundary or dividing line that separates a People from the rest of the world, the country and its exclusive claim to particular rights and privileges loses all its meaning.

When Leftist agitators, aided and abetted by their Democratic Party leaders, scream “no person is illegal,” they are engaging in one of the most destructive, anti-civilizational and Marxist chants imaginable.

To deny borders is to deny citizenship, which in turns means a denial of the constitutional order and a denial of the United States of America.

The Constitution begins with its famous preamble, “We the People,” not “Citizens of the World.”  Implicit in every attack on border security measures is an attack on the constitutional liberties we all should hold dear.

In Minneapolis, we have observed a breakdown of civilization in real-time.  We have also observed what happens to a society when the anti-civilization forces that would bring it to heel are allowed to run rampant throughout a city.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey embodied these tendencies on overdrive.

Neither one cares about the country because they have unleashed chaos on a nationwide law enforcement operation intended to restore the rule of law, beginning with the reestablishment of the basic principle of citizenship.

Immigration control is a two-part exercise.  The first part requires securing the border from outside invaders, which the Trump administration has done with resounding success over the past year.  This is no small achievement.

It is made all the more remarkable by the fact that over the preceding four-year time period, upwards of 20 million illegal aliens, from origins all over the world, flooded into the country with near impunity.

The border was so porous that caravans of illegal aliens, including a sizable number of human traffickers, drug cartels, terrorists, and repeat felony offenders, were able to penetrate the American homeland, and do so without worry that they would be tracked down, charged, and prosecuted by the justice system.

This was because the Biden regime established a de facto lawless or anarchic state of affairs; criminals, and particularly illegal aliens, were given blanket immunity because of the near-term political advantages such a policy gave them.

Aside from dead voters, illegal aliens and their kin represented a constituency that topped the list for reliable Democratic voters.  But more fundamentally, the idea of citizenship was a moral affront to the Democratic sensibility.

Citizenship implies nations, which in turn implies borders.  The concept of borders, of course, became anathema to liberals at some point over the last ten or fifteen years or so, finally rising to become the default position of the mainstream Democratic Party in the Biden era.

It is this borderless ethos, paired with a lionization of the criminal, that continues to drive the ideologies and, derivative of that, political decisions of Tim Walz and Jacob Frey.  It explains each of their respective actions in Minneapolis.

They have agitated a standoff with ICE and Border Patrol agents because they view these agencies as the enemy.

This subversive worldview has been supported by Democrats in Congress, like Chuck Schumer and Elizabeth Warren, who are now threatening to withhold DHS (ICE) appropriations in the upcoming spending bill as long as the border security agencies continue to function in their current forms.  The question few have asked is: what is the alternative?

Under the Department of Homeland Security, there are three separate agencies dedicated to mass deportations and border security: ICE, Border Patrol, and U.S. Citizenship and Immigrant Services.

The fact that three such agencies exist, more or less committed to the same assignment, speaks to the importance of border security operations for America’s overall national security.

It also, more broadly, speaks to a deeper commitment to the philosophy of citizenship, and the attendant requirement of strong borders in order to fully confer to Americans the fruits of their civilizational birthright.

For Democrats, however, all these things are immoral.  They would prefer ICE be abolish, DHS be defunded, and Kristi Noem and Stephen Miller be impeached.

But America can only remain a special place in the larger world if it has a benchmark by which to distinguish itself from the rest of the world.

That benchmark then requires borders, and the policies of border control enforcement that makes nationhood persist.

Deportations may be an ugly policy for television, but it is an absolutely essential prerequisite for the preservation of civic identity.

Sometimes – more often than not – the more uncontroversial policies are the essential policies that keep a nation safeguarded, its freedoms preserved, and justice intact.

ICE and CBP may be the names of the operations, but what they represent are necessary measures that all proper nations have in order to keep the very notion of sovereignty alive.

If a nation forgets what those harsher truths entail from a policy perspective, as we have most recently observed under Biden, an administration that systematically neutered DHS deportation operations, the outcome is disastrous.

Disaster will always be the end result of such policies. Let us, as a conservative movement, not repeat those same mistakes, and continue to support ICE and CBP until the 20 million illegal aliens, who broke the law to enter the United States, are returned to their native lands – never to be seen or heard from again.

Secretary of War Unveils America First 2026 U.S. Defense Strategy

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth outlines the new National Defense Strategy during a speech at the Reagan Library. Photo courtesy of the U.S. Department of War.

“We will defend the Homeland and ensure that our interests in the Western Hemisphere are protected. We will deter China in the Indo-Pacific through strength, not confrontation. We will increase burden-sharing with allies and partners around the world. And we will rebuild the U.S. defense industrial base as part of the President’s once-in-a-century revival of American industry,” said Secretary of War Pete Hegseth in his opening message for the 2026 U.S. National Defense Strategy.

The Department of War released its 2026 National Defense Strategy on January 23, presenting a 34-page framework that reorients U.S. military priorities around homeland defense, deterrence through strength, and allied burden-sharing.

Secretary Hegseth frames the strategy as a break from past U.S. foreign policy, criticizing previous administrations for sidelining American interests through nation-building projects and pledges to uphold what he calls “cloud-castle abstractions like the rules-based international order.”

Hegseth argues these efforts weakened U.S. security and military readiness, while President Trump has prioritized Americans’ concrete interests and restored the U.S. military as the world’s strongest and most capable.

The strategy emphasizes restoring the warrior ethos and rebuilding the Joint Force so that America’s enemies never doubt U.S. resolve or its ability to respond decisively.

The strategy identifies four main lines of effort. The top priority is defending the U.S. homeland and American interests across the Western Hemisphere, including strengthening border, airspace, cyber, and nuclear defenses, countering terrorism and emerging threats through the Golden Dome missile defense initiative, and maintaining readiness to act decisively when U.S. interests are challenged.

It also commits to securing U.S. land, maritime, and air approaches, targeting narco-terrorist networks throughout the Western Hemisphere, and guaranteeing U.S. access to strategic terrain, including the Panama Canal, Greenland, and the Gulf of America.

The document describes this posture as the Trump Corollary to the Monroe Doctrine and references recent military operations, including Operation ABSOLUTE RESOLVE against Venezuela’s Maduro regime, Operation MIDNIGHT HAMMER strikes on Iran’s nuclear program, and Operation ROUGH RIDER operations against the Houthis.

China is identified as the primary long-term strategic challenge in the Indo-Pacific.

The strategy emphasizes deterrence without unnecessary confrontation, calling for negotiation from a position of military strength, improved military-to-military communication with the PLA to reduce escalation risks, and stronger defenses along the First Island Chain.

The stated objective is to ensure that no single power can dominate the region and that negotiations occur from strength rather than through containment or humiliation.

The strategy makes no mention of or guarantee to Taiwan, marking a shift from the 2022 National Defense Strategy, which stated that the U.S. would support Taiwan’s asymmetric self-defense.

The document stresses increased burden-sharing with U.S. allies and partners, arguing that long-term peace requires higher defense spending and shared responsibility rather than dependency on U.S. protection.

President Trump established a new global defense spending benchmark of 5 percent of GDP at the NATO Hague Summit, combining 3.5 percent for core military capabilities and 1.5 percent for security-related spending.

European NATO allies are expected to take primary responsibility for Europe’s conventional defense with critical but more limited U.S. support, while the strategy describes Russia as a persistent but manageable threat.

South Korea is described as capable of assuming primary responsibility for deterring North Korea, again with critical but more limited U.S. support.

Israel is characterized as a model ally that should be further empowered, while regional allies are expected to play a larger role in collective security across the Middle East and other theaters.

The strategy also prioritizes revitalizing the U.S. defense industrial base by reshoring production, expanding capacity, adopting advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, and cutting outdated regulations.

The document calls for large-scale reinvestment in domestic defense manufacturing, removal of regulatory bottlenecks, and coordinated production with allies to restore the United States as the world’s primary arsenal, capable of rapid, high-quality production for itself and trusted partners.

The 2026 National Defense Strategy represents a significant pivot toward America First principles, with reduced emphasis on global engagement compared to previous defense strategies.

It frames President Trump’s second term as a corrective response to what it describes as a degraded global security environment inherited in January 2025, arguing that weak border enforcement, erosion of the Monroe Doctrine, hollowed-out alliances, and years of industrial outsourcing left the United States vulnerable to simultaneous major conflicts across multiple theaters.

The document emphasizes a return to warfighting readiness, modernization, and a renewed warrior ethos, while rejecting what it characterizes as prior neglect of military culture and readiness.

Radical Nurse’s Union on Shooting Death of Anti-ICE Activist: “Pretti’s death will not be in vain. ICE messed with the wrong profession. We nurses will fight to abolish ICE”

Radical Nurse’s Union on Shooting Death of Anti-ICE Activist: “Pretti’s death will not be in vain. ICE messed with the wrong profession. We nurses will fight to abolish ICE”
January 27, 2026

National Nurses United, a union of nursing professionals that claims over 225,000 members, announced a campaign to abolish ICE in tribute to Alex Pretti, an ICU nurse shot to death by CBP agents in Minneapolis on Saturday while interfering with an operation attempting the arrest of criminal illegal alien.

The union said in a statement Monday, “Pretti’s death will not be in vain. ICE messed with the wrong profession. We nurses will fight to abolish ICE.”

A ‘week of action’ by nursing professionals is being promoted by the union:

Week of action in honor of Alex Pretti, RN and all others killed by ice

It’s happened. Federal immigration agents have murdered one of our own, ICU registered nurse Alex Pretti, who saved veterans’ lives at the Minneapolis VA. Pretti upheld his oath to advocate for and protect his patients and community to the very end as a peaceful, public legal observer of ICE atrocities.

Join National Nurses United RN members in a week-long series of actions to honor Pretti and all who have been murdered by ICE, as well as demand that Congress vote to immediately abolish this violent, racist, and lawless agency that poses a dire public health threat to all of our communities.

Pretti’s death will not be in vain. ICE messed with the wrong profession. We nurses will fight to abolish ICE and bring about a vision for a healthy society based on nurses’ values of caring, compassion, and community.

Events in several states and the District of Columbia are listed at the union’s website.

Pretti went armed with a concealed handgun and backup ammo on Saturday to counter a federal immigration enforcement action. Why a nurse who served at the Minneapolis VA hospital caring for veterans would come prepared to engage in a gun battle with the feds is an open question.

Another open question is the radicalization of the nursing profession to the point that nurses are engaging in or encouraging others to engage in violent anti-government behavior.

Libs of TikTok has been documenting nurses posting videos wishing harm on federal government workers.

National Nurses United has posted advice and resources (at link) on how to block ICE at hospitals:

The Trump Administration has changed the rules, no longer designating hospitals, as well as schools and churches, as “sensitive areas,” free from immigration enforcement. Nurses make a vow to care for all people, and we know hospitals should remain places of healing, where all people can receive care, without fear. Armed, masked ICE agents are standing in the way of nurses effectively caring for patients – the resources on this page will aid nurses in advocating for all patients regardless of immigration status.

The union is also encouraging its members to contact Congress to abolish ICE, using aggressive language and imagery:

Graphic promoting a call to action against the DHS appropriations bill and ICE, featuring a QR code for easy access to contact the Senate.

A Chicago-area elementary school teacher has been placed on administrative leave after daring to express support for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on his personal Facebook account.

According to Fox News, the teacher, who worked at Gary Elementary School in West Chicago, posted a simple message last week: “GO ICE.”

That was enough to trigger a full-scale meltdown from activists in the heavily Hispanic community, who immediately launched a coordinated campaign to have the teacher fired.

A flyer circulated online alongside a Change.org petition demanding the teacher’s termination and urging parents to keep their children home from school in protest.

One user wrote:

“To be clear — I will be keeping my kids home in solidarity with families in our community and across the country who are living in fear because of ICE, and as a clear message to [redacted] that what he posted is not acceptable to me. This is not about forcing the district to act prematurely or bypass due process—which could invite costly federal litigation or a national spotlight that brings ICE back to terrorize our community.

I do believe [redacted] needs to fully feel how hurtful and alienating his words were. An empty school makes it unmistakable that his views do not align with this community. Ideally, that discomfort will lead him to choose employment elsewhere—without the district being pressured to violate due process or risk inviting additional danger into our community. He must be held accountable for the harm caused, even as we allow proper process to run its course. I trust the district to handle this responsibly and with care.”

Fox News Digital reported it could not independently locate the Facebook post, and the teacher’s account appears to have been deleted.

In an email to parents obtained by Fox News Digital, West Chicago Elementary School District 33 Superintendent Kristina Davis revealed that the teacher initially submitted a resignation on Friday, then withdrew it before the school board could act, allowing him to report to work on Monday.

“The district has obtained legal counsel to conduct an investigation beginning on Monday,” Davis wrote.

“The district will share additional information as appropriate. District 33 remains committed to providing safe, caring, and inclusive learning environments for all students. Thank you for your continued partnership.”

By Monday afternoon, the district confirmed the teacher had been placed on administrative leave following a meeting with district leadership.

“On Thursday, January 22, 2026, the District learned of concerns regarding a disruptive social media comment made by a District employee on his personal account,” the district said in a statement.

The district added, “Following a meeting with District administration today, the employee involved has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation and will not be permitted on any District property while on leave.”
