Senator Elissa Slotkin (D-MI) told the rest of the world that Trump is exercising “authoritarianism” in the US and planning to steal the 2026 election if Americans don’t revolt while speaking at the Munich Security Conference on Saturday. 

During a panel discussion titled “Holding the Line: Defending Europe and Supporting Ukraine,” Slotkin warned that the US is “in a struggle for our democracy” because of Trump’s “authoritarianism.”

“I stand here as an American senator, feeling very concerned about the 2026 elections in November,” she said. “Just like in 2020, he said, if I don’t win, then it wasn’t a free and fair election, he is repeating the playbook, now threatening to put uniformed federal agents around polling locations.”

“So, the question is, what are we going to do as Americans to defend our democracy that we helped invent, okay? And that to me, that process that’s going on right now, which is playing out in front of all of you,” she added with a nod to the violent anti-ICE insurrection in Minnesota.

It can be recalled that Slotkin was involved in the attempted seditious coup against Trump last year, urging the military to defy his orders as he amped up pressure on designated foreign terrorist drug traffickers and Venezuela’s Nicolas Maduro.

Slotkin and five other Democratic lawmakers, all with credentials in the military and intelligence apparatus, released a video message in November, telling active duty service members and intelligence officials that they have a “duty” to disobey “illegal” orders from President Trump.

However, Trump has not given any illegal orders. This was an attempt to sow doubt and interfere with military operations.

Slotkin, the former CIA agent in the conspiracy, later admitted that Trump has not given a single illegal order to members of the military! Still, she threatened service members with thinly veiled warnings, comparing Trump to Adolf Hitler and suggesting they may face tribunals like the Nuremberg Trials. She further pointed to movies like “A Few Good Men” to intimidate military members into thinking twice before they follow this President.

Slotkin: I think I’m sitting in a room full of people who come from active democracies. Some of you have fought very hard for your democracies. We are in a struggle for our democracy. It’s not the first time in our 250 years, but it is certainly the most real one of my lifetime. And I think what we’re seeing happen right now is as things deteriorate, for instance, in Minneapolis, right? It is hitting something in the American consciousness, a sort of barometer for authoritarianism that they instinctively look at and don’t like. Now, because of confusion over years on what media source to listen to, what political party you come from, people are very, you know, they’re very unsure about what they read, but when they see it with their own eyes, that is something fundamentally different.

And that’s why you just saw President Trump very quietly slink out of Minneapolis because he understands it is just deeply unpopular, not just with Democrats, but with independents, Republicans and people of all stripes. The more he overplays that authoritarianism, the more people can see it with their own eyes. The more they say, “Look, I voted for him because I wanted a better economy. I thought we would get it that way, but I didn’t sign up for this.” And I come from a state that just voted for Donald Trump, so I understand this. So, I can’t tell you the exact ways and the definition of rock bottom, but I will tell you I stand here as an American senator, feeling very concerned about the 2026 elections in November.

He is telling us what he wants to do. He is laying it out for us, and is up to the Americans to believe him, right? That, just like in 2020 he said, If I don’t win, then it wasn’t a free and fair election, he is repeating the playbook, now threatening to put uniformed federal agents around polling locations. I mean, he’s telling us the playbook. So, the question is, what are we going to do as Americans to defend our democracy that we helped invent, okay? And that to me, that process that’s going on right now, which is playing out in front of all of you.

It’s not like we like coming here and talking to you about the difficulties in our own country. No one likes to do that, but it is playing out in front of you. And the question is, will the American people and when will the American people feel like the issues of democracy are actually not someone else’s issues? They’re kitchen table issues, they affect my everyday life, my safety, my family, my security, my livelihood. When that happens, you will see the American people push back in a profound way, as you’ve seen in places like Minneapolis. That is the process we are in right now. I can’t define it for you, but it is happening before our eyes.

An unidentified gunman was arrested near West Front of the US Capitol Building on Tuesday.

Capitol Police told people to avoid the area.

“Our officers just arrested a person with what appears to be a gun near the West Front of the U.S. Capitol Building. Please avoid the area,” US Capitol Police said.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is not taking coverage of her epic debacle in Germany well at all.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, AOC delivered one of the most humiliating performances by a U.S. politician in modern history at the Munich Security Conference. She made a host of mind-boggling gaffes in response to simple questions while botching basic geography.

In one instance, a moderator at the event asked AOC if the US should commit troops to defend against China, and she turned into a stuttering mess.

“Um, you know, I think that, uh, this is such a, uh, you know, I — I think that this is a, umm, this is of course a, uh, a very longstanding, um, policy of the United States – uh and I think what we are hoping for is we want to make sure that we never get to that point,” AOC said.

“And we want to make sure that we are moving all of our economic research and global positions to avoid any such confrontation and for that question to even arise,” she said.

In addition to the ugly episode, AOC also incorrectly stated that Venezuela was below the equator and called Secretary of State Marco Rubio racist for saying cowboys came from Spain.

On Monday night, AOC called The New York Times and vented her fury over the coverage of her gaffes and the questions she was asked.

“This reporter came up to me and was like, ‘Is Munich the new New Hampshire?’ And I cannot say enough how out of touch and missing the point, genuinely, that is,” AOC whined during the interview with the Times.

“Global democracies are on fire the world over, and established parties are falling to right-wing populist movements.”

AOC continued to complain about the media clips that went viral, saying, “Any five-to-10-second thing” only serves to “distract from the substance of what I am saying.”

The New York Democrat later felt compelled to claim that her attendance at the event was not about preparing for a 2028 Presidential run. As if anyone believes her.

‘Her performance about this, or her performance about that. What does that mean about her as a candidate?’ That’s not what I went to Munich for.

She added: “If I were running — if I had made a decision or anything about being president, or Senate, or anything like that — frankly, I say this all the time: Am I acting like someone who is trying to run? No! Because I’m there for a very different, specific purpose.”

Just imagine the media’s and Democrats’ reaction if Vice President JD Vance had a performance remotely as bad as AOC’s. There would likely be calls for Trump to replace him as VP, and his hopes of eventually becoming president would take a significant hit.

Fortunately, America has nothing to worry about because Vance is actually a high-IQ individual, unlike AOC.

US forces took out three narcotrafficking vessels operated by Designated Terrorist Organizations in the Eastern Pacific on Monday, US Southern Command announced on Tuesday. 

The three strikes killed 11 narco-terrorists, Southern Command said.

At least 42 drug boats have been taken out, and at least 144 narco-terrorists have been killed in the Eastern Pacific and the Caribbean Sea under Operation Southern Spear since September 2, 2025.

Video shows the three vessels trafficking illicit drugs being obliterated in fiery explosions.

A statement from US Southern Command reads,

“Late on Feb. 16, at the direction of #SOUTHCOM commander Gen. Francis L. Donovan, Joint Task Force Southern Spear conducted three lethal kinetic strikes on three vessels operated by Designated Terrorist Organizations. Intelligence confirmed the vessels were transiting along known narco-trafficking routes and were engaged in narco-trafficking operations. Eleven male narco-terrorists were killed during these actions, 4 on the first vessel in the Eastern Pacific, 4 on the second vessel in the Eastern Pacific, and 3 on the third vessel in the Caribbean. No U.S. military forces were harmed.”

At least six drug boats have been taken out by US forces since Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro was captured by US forces in early January.

US forces struck two additional boats last week.
