“You should be ashamed of yourself not standing up,” Trump shouted at Democrats who refused to stand to show their support for the American people over illegal aliens. Earlier, they had refused to stand to honor the family of 16-year-old high school cheerleader Lizbeth Medina, who was brutally murdered by an illegal alien. They clearly hate Trump so much that they allow it to cloud their judgment and back reckless policies to spite him.

It was one thing when they all decided they loved autism because RFK Jr. said he was trying to find a way to prevent it. But in the case of their support for illegal aliens and lawlessness, it is counterintuitive, almost Darwinian, that they are against defending the border and keeping order on our streets.

At the State of the Union address, President Trump spoke for nearly two hours, and it was one of the most exciting and engaging events of the year, right up there with the Turning Point USA halftime show. Similar to last year’s Charlie Kirk memorial, it was patriotic, positive, energizing, and mentioned God liberally. At multiple times, Republicans in Congress erupted in applause, standing ovations, and chants of “U-S-A! U-S-A!”

Before it even started, mainstream media were running articles “debunking” the lies they claimed Trump was going to tell. All day on Twitter, Democrat lawmakers were posting that they were boycotting the event.

Oddly, one congressman after another posted, “I would rather stick a pin in my eye,” or “I would rather get poked in the eye.” It was as if they had a meeting the day before and coordinated their response: “Make sure to say something about sticking something in your eye. That’ll stop the ICE deportations.”

Congressional Democrats who boycotted President Trump’s State of the Union speech gathered at a rally outside the Capitol, accusing him of dividing the country and harming Americans through his immigration, health care, and economic policies. While Gov. Abigail Spanberger of Virginia delivered the formal Democratic response, dozens of lawmakers participated in a counterevent on the National Mall called the “People’s State of the Union.”

They criticized the economy, ICE deportations, government firings, and the self-defense shooting of Renee Good. They also brought up victims of Jeffrey Epstein, even though no Republicans are supporting or defending Jeffrey Epstein. Meanwhile, Democrats are shielding violent criminals and illegal aliens and opposing law enforcement.

Meanwhile, inside the State of the Union address, President Trump awarded the Medal of Honor to two soldiers. One was recognized for his heroism in capturing Venezuelan President Maduro despite being wounded. The other was a three-war veteran of World War II, the Korean War, and Vietnam whose heroism had been classified until recently. Republicans erupted in cheers for the two men, who deserved the accolades and praise they received.

Trump brought out victims and families of victims attacked by illegal aliens, in many cases repeat offenders who had been released on no-cash bail. Republicans stood and showed their support. Democrats either refused to stand or shouted and heckled the president.

President Trump said, “We can never forget that many in this room not only allowed the border invasion to happen before I got involved, but indeed, they would do it all over again if they ever had the chance.” He warned that if they were elected, “they would open up those borders to some of the worst criminals anywhere in the world.”

He added, “The only thing standing between Americans and a wide-open border right now is President Donald J. Trump and our great Republican patriots in Congress.” He also said that Democrats in the chamber had cut off all funding for the Department of Homeland Security.

President Trump said Democrats had “instituted another Democrat shutdown,” claiming the first one cost the country two points of GDP and suggesting that “probably made them quite happy actually.” He said they had now closed the agency responsible for protecting Americans from “terrorists and murderers.”

He declared, “Tonight, I’m demanding the full and immediate restoration of all funding for border security and homeland security of the United States,” and added that funding was also needed “for helping people clean up their snow.” He said there was no money because of the Democrats, that “nobody’s getting paid,” and called it “a shame,” referencing a large snowstorm affecting the country.

Trump said one of the benefits of the State of the Union is that Americans can see clearly what their representatives believe. He then invited every legislator to join his administration in reaffirming what he called a fundamental principle: “The first duty of the American government is to protect American citizens, not illegal aliens,” urging those who agreed to stand and show their support.

All of the Republicans stood, but no Democrats did. At that moment, it became clear that Democrats hate the nation.

President Trump admonished them, saying, “Isn’t that a shame? You should be ashamed of yourself not standing up. You should be ashamed of yourself.” He then called on them to “end deadly sanctuary cities that protect the criminals and enact serious penalties for public officials who block the removal of criminal aliens.” He said that in many cases those being protected were “drug lords, murderers all over our country,” and accused officials of blocking their removal. He repeated, “And you should be ashamed of yourself.”

The president ended by urging Congress to pass the SAVE Act, which he said was one more opportunity to show common sense in government.

President Trump on Wednesday afternoon went off on Democrat Reps Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib for screaming at him during his State of the Union Address.

Trump said they should be institutionalized and deported.

The camera panned over to Ilhan Omar as President Trump called out Somali pirates and fraud rings in Minnesota.

Omar was on the verge of tears as President Trump called out Somalia for its corruption.

“If you agree with this statement, stand up to show your support: The first duty of the American government is to protect American citizens, not illegal aliens,” Trump said.

Republicans stood up and cheered while many Democrats remained seated.

President Trump lambasted the Democrats for refusing to stand for protecting American citizens.

“[Democrats] are blocking the removal of [illegal alien drug lords and rapists] out of our country and you should be ashamed of yourselves!” Trump said.

“You have killed Americans!” Omar shouted.

“You should be ashamed!” Omar added.

Fellow squad member Rashida Tlaib also joined Ilhan Omar and shouted at President Trump.

Democratic Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) on Wednesday gave his own rebuttal to President Trump’s State of the Union Address with a six-minute-long rant on the Senate Floor, attacking the President and claiming he ignored the American people and made the State of the Union all about himself. 

“Last night was not America’s State of the Union. It was Donald Trump’s state of delusion,” he said, arguing that Trump spent two hours “congratulating himself, inflating his own ego, but offering no solutions to our country’s many problems.”

Schumer’s “State of Delusion” talking point was seemingly given to him by a staffer or Democrat strategist on Tuesday during the President’s speech. Schumer was seen proudly walking out of the chamber on Tuesday, refusing to speak to the press and, instead, repeating the line over and over again as he walked through Statuary Hall inside the Capitol:

“Donald Trump patted himself on the back so many times I thought he’d fall down,” Schumer said on the Senate Floor earlier.

But it was actually the Democrats who made the President’s speech all about themselves and turned their backs on the American people.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, when President Trump recognized the parents of 23-year-old Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska, who was savagely murdered by a career criminal who was set free under the Democrats’ policies, the party of crime shamefully remained seated and looked away.

Despite President Trump standing up against crime and illegal immigration for the innocent people in our country, the Democrats claim he couldn't care less, while pointing to the economy that Biden and the Democrats left behind.

"Trump didn't simply ignore the affordability crisis, he mocked it, yet again. The average American sitting at their table trying to figure out how they're going to pay that damn bill was furious that he said it doesn't matter," Schumer said, making affordability a focal point of his speech. "It's truly stunning to watch a billionaire like Donald Trump make fun of people's financial struggles during a State of the Union speech. The guy doesn't have a clue. He's in a bubble so thick he can't hear what people are going through."

But Trump actually pointed out the "record-setting inflation that cost the typical family $34,000" under Joe Biden and the Democrats, while noting that the Democrats now fixate on affordability now that Trump is in office. "The same people in this chamber who voted for those disasters suddenly use the word 'affordability,'" Trump noted, adding that the Democrats "caused and created the increased prices that all of our citizens had to endure."

"They knew their statements were a lie. They knew it. They knew their statements were a dirty, rotten lie. Their policies created the high prices. Our policies are rapidly ending them. We are doing really well. Those prices are plummeting downward," Trump said. "The price of eggs is down 60 percent. Madam Secretary, thank you. The cost of chicken, butter, fruit, hotels, automobiles, rent is lower today than when I took office, by a lot."

Schumer further claimed that Trump inflated his economic successes and job creation numbers, and attacked the President for appointing JD Vance to investigate the fraud perpetrated by Somali aliens in Minnesota, California, Massachusetts, and Maine.

"I've never heard a State of the Union speech, and I've heard quite a few, where the President's rhetoric and the country's reality were so far apart," he added, while ignoring the disastrous, lie-filled speeches by Joe Biden.

"So in sum, last night, did what he does better than anyone else, one of the few things he does better than anyone else. He boosted his own ego and patted himself on the back, didn't address the needs of Americans, and just broke promise after promise after promise," Schumer said in conclusion, while urging Americans to look at the Democratic Party's rebuttal speeches by Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger and Senator Alex Padilla (D-CA).

Schumer: Last night was not America's State of the Union. It was Donald Trump's state of delusion. For two long hours, the President stood in the way— in the House chamber, congratulating himself, inflating his own ego, but offering no solutions to our country's many problems. He's in a bubble. He doesn't even have a clue about what the average American family is going through. Donald Trump patted himself on the back so many times I thought he'd fall down. While Donald Trump kept claiming that America is back and that we're, quote, winning so much we don't know what to do about it, that's only half true. We are not winning so much, but he sure has no idea what to do about the problems in America. And he admitted it right there himself.

People back home were asking something different than what the speech addressed. They're asking, What about my electricity bill? How am I going to pay for my groceries? How am I going to afford a doctor? Donald Trump ignored all these things during his speech last night. Frankly, I've never heard a State of the Union speech, and I've heard quite a few, where the President's rhetoric and the country's reality were so far apart. Instead, Donald Trump spent most of his speech focused on the accomplishments, not of his administration, but on the accomplishments of other Americans whose accomplishments he has nothing to do with. We're all proud of the men and women hockey teams that just won golds in the Olympics. We're all proud and grateful of our veterans. They deserve honor, but Donald Trump didn't have anything to do with these accomplishments.

He had so little to say about what he accomplished that he had to just go on and on about accomplishments of others. And folks back home want to hear about what the President is doing to help with their problems. They don't want to hear a fantasy that everything is going great. But it got worse. Trump didn't simply ignore the affordability crisis, he mocked it, yet again. The average American sitting at their table trying to figure out how they're going to pay that damn bill was furious that he said it doesn't matter. It's truly stunning to watch a billionaire like Donald Trump make fun of people's financial struggles during a State of the Union speech. The guy doesn't have a clue. And of course, he lied about the economy. This man is an inveterate liar. Everyone knows that. He said last night that manufacturing jobs gone way up. That's a lie. Manufacturing is down by 100,000 jobs since he took office. He bragged last night about job creation? Well, job creation is at its lowest point in over 20 years outside of a recession, its lowest point in 20 years, and he brags about it. Donald Trump claimed that the fight against inflation is over. That's a lot of BS. Just go to the grocery store, and you'll see. Donald Trump's speech was filled with fluff and hype. When was the last time Trump bought a cup of coffee? When is the last time Trump walked into a grocery store? His speech shows that he never has.

It was also rich last night to hear Donald Trump announce that he'll put JD Vance in charge of investigating corruption. Now I think JD, putting JD Vance in charge of corruption is actually something that might work out because he's right— he's in the midst of it. He's all around it. And I've got some suggestions for where he can begin. If Vice President Vance wants to investigate corruption, he should look into the billionaires who are donating to Donald Trump's fancy ballroom.

He should look into how many, so many within the administration are making a killing, a personal killing, off crypto deals. He should investigate why Donald Trump pardoned the ex-president of Honduras, who was convicted of drug trafficking. If he wants to look into corruption, let him investigate the luxury jet Donald Trump received as a gift from the Middle East. He's got a lot to do right around him if he wants to investigate corruption because this is the most corrupt administration, I think, ever, certainly in decades and maybe over a century. If JD Vance wants to get to the bottom of corruption in government, the good news is that all he has to do is walk down the hall into the Oval Office.

So in sum, last night, did what he does better than anyone else, one of the few things he does better than anyone else. He boosted his own ego and patted himself on the back, didn't address the needs of Americans, and just broke promise after promise after promise. If anyone watching last night was hoping to hear about how Donald Trump is going to lower their costs and their economic pain, his speech was anemic dud. So, I suggest Americans who care about the high cost of living, about affordability, which Trump knocks, get a copy of Governor Spanberger's speech. She focused on it like a bull's eye.

Her speech was so much more in tune with where the American people are at than Donald Trump's. The contrast is glaring. And I also want to salute Senator Padilla. He gave an outstanding speech as well. Compare Trump's speech to their speech, and you'll know why Trump is in such trouble with the American people. You'll know why the Republican Party is panicking about what might happen in November of 2026.

During a recent Minnesota House Commerce Committee hearing on HF 1434, Woke Democrat state Rep. Leigh Finke warned that its language could also block “potentially educational” online content for queer youth, igniting a national backlash. Finke repeatedly raised concerns about how its enforcement might affect so-called LGBT kids who already receive little or no queer‑inclusive sex education.

Finke argued that some attorneys general are “almost jubilant” about using age‑verification laws—like a Texas statute recently upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court—to stop young “queer” people from accessing material that “could be educational if they are queer,” and warned that vague definitions of “prurient interest” could be stretched to treat information about the “very existence of transgender kids” as sexual content.

Advocacy groups such as Moms for Liberty and the Stanley M. Herzog Foundation shared the clip on Facebook, accusing Finke of opposing “common‑sense” age verification, saying she thinks it is “crucial for so‑called queer kids to have access to pornography,” and insisting that such laws are designed solely “to protect children” from explicit material.

On X and Reddit, many users condemned the comments as “disgusting,” accused Finke of “grooming” children, labeled as a “child predator,” and called the argument “the worst possible defense” of civil‑liberties concerns, with some urging that the video be used against Finke in future campaigns or demanding resignation.

Finke claimed to have the intent to work with the Republican author on the bill, complained that opponents had quickly clipped and “twist[ed]” Finke’s comments to do harm to Finke because Finke is so-called “transgender”, and vowed to “fight for queer kids” despite the backlash.

Finke has continued to argue that HF 1434 can and should be written to keep minors off pornography sites without becoming, in Finke’s words, part of a political “machine that is now designed specifically to hate and destroy transgender people,” or a tool for censoring age‑appropriate information about queer identities.
