Katherine Short, daughter of Hollywood actor Martin Short, has died by suicide, according to TMZ.

The 42-year-old adopted daughter of Martin Short was found dead in her Los Angeles home of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

“It is with profound grief that we confirm the passing of Katherine Hartley Short,” a rep for Martin Short confirmed to Page Six.

“The Short family is devastated by this loss, and asks for privacy at this time. Katherine was beloved by all and will be remembered for the light and joy she brought into the world,” the statement said.

Katherine Short was a social worker in Los Angeles.

The 42-year-old died from a self inflicted gunshot wound … law enforcement sources tell TMZ.

LAPD responded to her Hollywood Hills home Monday, shortly after 6 PM.

Katherine — the adopted daughter of Short and Nancy Dolman, his wife of 30 years who passed away in 2010 — worked as a social worker in Los Angeles.

Dozens of petulant Democrat members of Congress have announced they will not attend President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address tonight, with reports indicating as many as 45 confirmed absences.

The address marks Trump’s first SOTU in his second term, following his 2024 election victory.

Many of those skipping are participating in alternative events, such as the “People’s State of the Union” rally on the National Mall organized by groups like MoveOn and MeidasTouch, or the “State of the Swamp” gathering at the National Press Club.

Others say they plan to watch remotely or “spend time with constituents.”

CBS Justice Correspondent Scott MacFarlane noted on X that the number had reached 40 and was still growing.

The White House on Tuesday released a statement slamming the Democratic Party’s choice of Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger to deliver the rebuttal to President Trump’s State of the Union address. 

The radical left governor will deliver the party’s official rebuttal to Trump’s speech, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer announced. Meanwhile, other Democrats plan to deliver separate addresses following Trump’s speech, the Gateway Pundit reported.

Spanberger’s response, the White House says, will “contrast Democratic extremism with President Trump’s road to prosperity.”

The White House further outlined Spanberger’s counter-Trump agenda of prioritizing illegal aliens, attacking law enforcement, reckless spending, climate extremism, support for extreme transgender ideology and DEI, and rigging elections.

It can be recalled that as one of her first acts as Governor last month, Spanberger signed ten executive orders, including one that ended Virginia’s cooperation with federal law enforcement, including immigration agents. With the stroke of a pen, Spanberger turned Virginia into a Sanctuary State, rescinding an executive order by her predecessor, Glenn Youngkin, that required state police to participate in the federal 287(g) program and enforce ICE detainer requests for illegal aliens in custody.

Team USA Men’s hockey champs arrived at Joint Base Andrews on Tuesday ahead of President Trump’s State of the Union Address.

President Trump invited the men’s hockey champs to the State of the Union Address and flew them to DC on Vance’s vice presidential plane.

For the first time in more than 4 decades, Team USA won the men’s ICE hockey gold medal against Canada in overtime on Sunday.

The Men’s Hockey Team departed Miami on Tuesday morning and arrived to Joint Base Andrews in DC.
