California Democrats have revealed their thoughts and feelings about another Kamala Harris run for president. They are basically saying thanks, but no thanks.

Harris has hinted repeatedly that she is open to the idea of running again, as if Democrat voters might rise up and demand that she get another chance to grab the brass ring. It does not look like that is going to happen any time soon.

Newsom is the front-runner in this poll, but even he is not getting great news here.

Kamala Harris bombs in humiliating new poll — but it’s also bad news for Gavin Newsom

California voters are resoundingly rejecting former Vice President Kamala Harris as a possible 2028 presidential contender — while Gov. Gavin Newsom faces an uphill battle, according to a new poll.

Harris trailed behind Newsom, as well as New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, with just 9% of voters in her home state saying she would be their first choice for the Democratic nominee, according to a poll released Friday by the UC Berkeley Institute of Governmental Studies.

Newsom leads the pack with 28% of voters naming him as their top choice — however, receiving support from only roughly a quarter of those in the Golden State is worrying, Mark DiCamillo, director of the Berkeley IGS Poll, told the Los Angeles Times.

The poll also shows that less than half of Californians (48%) approve of the job Newsom is doing as governor.

That marks a drop from 51% approval in August, DiCamillo said. Newsom’s disapproval rating also climbed by 5 percentage points.

What’s really amazing is that the former vice president broke, well, zero. But then, here on the other side of the aisle, we hold our candidates to a higher standard – like insisting they can speak in public. A candidate who can’t string together a coherent sentence if you spot her two verbs and a participle won’t get very far in the Republican Party, but Democrats? Well, look at recent history: Every Kamala Harris Q&A session, the few that she did, even though they were asking pre-approved questions… Well, she did her best to do a credible impression of a word salad shooter, and that’s about all.

Look, for most of my adult life, I’ve had a few criteria that I use to judge someone’s intelligence. They aren’t infallible, but they broadly apply. One of those is this: Intelligent people are generally pretty good at speaking extemporaneously. Ronald Reagan was good at that. Bill Clinton was good at that. Barack Obama, lauded by Democrats as a speechifier, was terrible without a teleprompter, and Joe Biden wasn’t any good even with one. Democrats don’t seem to set very high standards for rhetoric in their candidates.

Kamala Harris took those low expectations and smashed them into miles into the earth’s crust, probably breaking through into the mantle. It’s no wonder that California Democrats are looking at a potential second Harris campaign and saying, “Yeah, no thanks.”

If Kamala Harris ignores all of this and decides to run in 2028 anyway, expect her to drop out early in the primary, just like she did in 2020.

There is just no demand for her candidacy, even on the left.

Former CNN employee Jim Acosta is deeply worried that ‘partisan hacks’ are taking over the news business. You couldn’t make this up.

Acosta offered his comments at a hearing set up by California Senator Adam Schiff, which just makes this story even more perfect.

Acosta is really upset about the fact that the news media is changing and he is being left behind. He claims that CBS News and other outlets are going pro-Trump. That is not happening. Jim just thinks that the news is going right wing if it’s not attacking Trump 24/7.

“The news is broken, we may not be able to put the pieces back together,” former CNN White House Correspondent Jim Acosta told a packed Burbank City Hall on Friday, warning of the rise of entertainment industry oligarchs and “media domination.”

“We need to talk about busting up big media,” Acosta insisted. “This is not America what we’re seeing now.”

Citing a “danger to our democracy,” Acosta called Donald Trump’s attacks on the media “an assault on our freedom of speech … taking us down the road of Putin and China to state-controlled media.” An old and constant thorn in Trump’s paw, Acosta certainly had something to say about David Ellison’s pending $111 billion purchase of Warner Bros Discovery – the owners of CNN.

Taking a swing at “partisan hacks” running CBS News and the probability of more job losses like we saw today, and “self-censoring,” the journalist was speaking Friday at Sen. Adam Schiff’s “Lights, Camera, Competition”: Promoting American Film Production event in the former home of the Tonight Show.

Democrats are openly saying that they are going to go after Trump and members of his administration.

The same people who have accused Trump of enacting ‘revenge’ on his opponents are now plainly stating their intentions to do just that, enact revenge. And of course, the media lets them get away with it.

Today on The Five, Greg Gutfeld called out the Democrats over this, wondering what exactly they want revenge for.

“The Dems are talking about revenge. For what? Was it for closing the border? Getting rid of the Fentanyl from our cities? Uhh, putting away killers and rapists? Exposing waste, fraud and abuse? Destroying a foreign threat to our country? Exposing the lie of trans athletes? If you’re seeking revenge for that, what’s it say about you?

If you’re being honest, you only want revenge because you lost.”

Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker is pushing something called Project 2029.

Pritzker pushes prosecutions of Trump officials as part of Dem ‘Project 2029’ agenda

Illinois Democratic Gov. JB Pritzker said Democrats should seek criminal prosecution against Trump administration and law enforcement officials who have “broken the law” if they were to gain control of the White House in 2028.

Pritzker, who is running for a third gubernatorial term, sat down for an interview with The New York Times and proposed Democrats adopt their own version of Project 2025, the Heritage Foundation’s conservative policy blueprint for presidential administrations released in nearly every election cycle since the 1980s.

Pritzker dubbed the Democrats’ counter “Project 2029,” urging it to be quickly implemented to “restore the rule of law.”

“I don’t think you can speak of it in shorthand, but we’ve got to restore the rule of law, and that means holding people accountable who’ve broken the law,” Pritzker said. “I’m talking about the people in this administration who’ve broken the law and federal agents who’ve broken the law.”

New York Times reporter Lulu Garcia-Navarro asked Pritzker whether this meant Trump officials and law enforcement agents would face criminal prosecution.

“Criminally prosecuted, civilly prosecuted,” Pritzker said. “Whatever it is that we can do.”

Everything is an outrage and a destruction of our norms, until Democrats do it.

Then it’s perfectly fine.

Police on Friday released bodycam footage of Justin Timberlake’s 2024 DUI arrest in the Hamptons.

In June 2024, singer and songwriter Justin Timberlake was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol in the Hamptons in New York.

Timberlake was partying at The American Hotel bar in Sag Harbor in the Hamptons before he hopped in the driver seat of his BMW and blew through a stop sign.

Police began tailing Timberlake and noticed he was swerving.

Timberlake refused the breathalyzer after failing the field sobriety tests.

According to reports, Timberlake was arraigned on one count of DUI and running a stop sign. He was released from custody without bail.

TMZ reported that Timberlake told cops he had “one martini” and followed his friends home. However, according to a witness, Justin Timberlake was “wasted” and drinking other people’s drinks before he was arrested for driving under the influence.

TMZ obtained surveillance video of Timberlake driving his BMW X7 right before he was pulled over.

Timberlake appeared to be swerving.

On Friday, Sag Harbor Village Police Department released the bodycam footage from Justin Timberlake’s DUI arrest.

Timberlake recently sued for an injunction blocking the release of the bodycam video.

Police released a redacted version of the arrest video – and it shows a very drunk Timberlake struggling through the field sobriety test.

At one point Justin Timberlake tried to get out of doing a field sobriety test but the officer told him he wasn’t free to leave.

A Mississippi street preacher who sued a community over a law that banned him from preaching near an amphitheater has won his battle to challenge the law.

Gabriel Olivier claimed his arrest under a law passed by Brandon, Mississippi, violated his First Amendment rights, according to the Associated Press.

The city said he had shouted insults, and invoked the law to fine Olivier and slap him with a year of probation. Olivier paid the fine and completed his probation.

The decision allowed Olivier to move forward but does not ensure he will win the suit.

“This is not only a win for the right to share your faith in public, but also a win for every American’s right to have their day in court when their First Amendment rights are violated,” Kelly Shackelford, president, CEO, and chief counsel for First Liberty Institute, said in a news release on First Liberty’s website.

“We’re delighted that the Supreme Court unanimously affirmed Gabe’s right to his day in court. It’s just common sense that a citizen who is arrested under an unconstitutional law should be able to challenge that law. As people of faith, we look to the judiciary to protect our constitutional right to spread the gospel,” Allyson Ho, co-chair of First Liberty’s nationwide Appellate and Constitutional Law Practice Group, added.

“No American should be criminally charged for sharing their faith in public,” Nate Kellum, senior counsel at First Liberty, remarked. “This is a wonderful day for Gabe and for the First Amendment.”

Olivier himself said that “my goal from the beginning was to be granted my rights as an American citizen under our great Constitution.”

“Now all people with deeply held Christian religious beliefs who are called to share the good news can do so in the public arena.”

As noted by SCOTUSBlog, Olivier was battling an argument from the city that a 1994 ruling, Heck v. Humphrey, should be used to block his lawsuit. The ruling limits challenges convicted criminals can bring against a law under which they were convicted.

But the court ruled that Olivier was not appealing his conviction, which would have been within the purview of Heck v. Humphrey. He was challenging the law so that no one else would be convicted.

“Petitioner Gabriel Olivier is a street preacher in Mississippi who believes that sharing his religious views with fellow citizens is an important part of exercising his faith. His vocation sometimes took him to the sidewalks near an amphitheater in the City of Brandon, where he could find sizable audiences attending events,” the court wrote in its ruling. Justice Elena Kagan wrote the opinion for the unanimous court.

“In 2019, the City adopted an ordinance requiring all individuals or groups engaging in ‘protests’ or ‘demonstrations,’ at around the time events were scheduled, to stay within a ‘designated protest area.’ In 2021, Olivier was arrested for violating that ordinance. He pleaded no contest in municipal court. The court imposed a $304 fine, one year of probation, and 10 days of imprisonment to be served only if he violated the ordinance during his probation. Olivier did not appeal, paid the fine, and served no prison time,” the ruling said.

“Because he still wanted to preach near the amphitheater, Olivier filed suit against the City in federal court under 42 U. S. C. §1983, alleging that the city ordinance violates the Free Speech Clause of the First Amendment by consigning him and other speakers to the amphitheater’s protest area. The complaint seeks, as a remedy, a declaration that the ordinance infringes the First Amendment and an injunction preventing city officials from enforcing the ordinance in the future,” the ruling added.

“Olivier seeks neither the reversal of, nor compensation for his prior conviction,” the ruling said.

“Olivier’s suit seeking purely prospective relief — an injunction stopping officials from enforcing an ordinance in the future — can proceed, notwithstanding Olivier’s prior conviction for violating that ordinance; Heck does not hold otherwise.”

The ruling continued that “there is no looking back in Olivier’s suit; both in the allegations made, and in the relief sought, the suit is entirely future oriented — even if success in it shows that something past should not have occurred.”
