This story is just sad.

Hollywood actor Jerry O’Connell appeared on Bill Maher’s podcast over the weekend and told an unbelievable story about election night in 2024.

According to O’Connell, he was mildly critical of Kamala Harris and suggested that the Democrats should have held an actual primary instead of just coronating Harris.

He then says that his wife and two daughters became enraged and got ‘physical’ with him. One can only assume what that means. It sounds like he is saying that they beat him.

Actor Jerry O’Connell revealed in a new interview that his wife, actress Rebecca Romijn, and their daughters “became physical” with him after former Vice President Kamala Harris lost the 2024 presidential election.

“If I say this, will I stay married?” the “Stand by Me” actor joked on Bill Maher’s “Club Random” podcast on Monday.

O’Connell continued describing the night of the election where he insisted that he did not believe President Donald Trump would win. However, he recalled making off-hand remarks to his family during the night.

“I said something along the lines of ‘there was no planning. This is what they get. There should have been a primary.’ I said something along those lines, you know, like I was just spit-balling ideas. It was a shock. My wife and daughters, without saying anything, became physical with me. They were filled with rage,” O’Connell said.

He continued, “So if I am being careful with you in how I say things, yes, I live in California. I live with not one, not two, but three people who, if I made any kind of joke, they’d become very angry with me.”

Maher responded by saying he could not live that way.

Can you even imagine living this way? Does Jerry O’Connell still live in fear of angering his wife and daughters?

Also, imagine if the genders were swapped. Would anyone tolerate a man and his two sons getting ‘physical’ with a woman for criticizing Republicans and Trump? There would be arrests and prosecutions involved and everyone knows it.

Airport security wait times are climbing across the country as Congress neglects to fund the Department of Homeland Security.

The agency is placing the blame squarely on the shoulders of the Democrats.

The official X account for DHS posted a video on Sunday noting that there are now “SECURITY LINES OUT THE DOOR.”

The footage showed travelers at an unnamed airport queuing for Transportation Security Administration screenings in lines so long that they stretch into the parking garage.

“Americans are now missing their flights because of the Democrats shutdown of DHS,” the agency said.

“Their political stunt is forcing patriotic TSA officers to work without pay — leading to financial hardship, absences, and crippling staffing shortages,” the post continued.

The TSA shared the post and signaled agreement.

“Enough is enough,” the TSA remarked. “The Democrat shutdown of DHS must end!”

DHS and the TSA were not the only entities blaming Democrats for the long lines at airports, which in some cases have reached wait times of three hours, according to a report from Fox News.

Senate Majority Leader John Thune, a Republican from South Dakota, contended that Democrats have been refusing to compromise on DHS funding.

It’s been three weeks and counting on Democrats’ second shutdown this fiscal year alone.

Tens of thousands of DHS employees are going without pay, and critical DHS priorities are going unfunded.

“Democrats keep telling us that they’re serious about funding this agency,” Thune said Monday on the Senate floor, per a release from his office.

“But their actions speak louder than their words. Negotiations have been going now for well over a month,” he continued, asserting that the two offers from the Democrats were “basically the same.”

“And if Democrats were really serious about taking action on this issue, they’d be working overtime to arrive at a compromise,” Thune added.

“But they’re not. They don’t even want to sit down.”

As TGP previously reported, Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett’s security officer was fatally shot by Dallas SWAT officers last week.

The security officer, Mike King, was a fugitive after impersonating a law enforcement officer.

King was killed in a parking garage during a standoff with Dallas SWAT officers last Wednesday night.

According to CBS News, he drove a “replica undercover police vehicle” with license plates “stolen from cars outside a military recruiting office.”

King reportedly has an extensive criminal history.

It is unclear how King was able to serve as Rep. Jasmine Crockett’s security detail despite his criminal background.

On Monday, Crockett defended Mike King even though he impersonated a federal law enforcement officer and drove cars with stolen US government plates.

“As a former public defender, I’ve always believed people are more than the worst thing they’ve ever done. I believe in redemption. The man we knew showed up with respect, care, and commitment to protecting others,” Crockett said.

“We’re still learning the full story, but today we mourn a life lost. This is a tragic ending that we wish had been avoided for all,” she said.

Crockett said the fact that King was able to “circumvent the vetting process” and be a part of her security detail is “incredibly alarming.”

“The fact that an individual was able to somehow circumvent the vetting process for something as sensitive as security for members of Congress highlights the loopholes and shortcomings in many of our systems. This is incredibly alarming, especially for those members who receive high volumes of credible and sophisticated death threats,” Crockett wrote.

President Donald Trump wants to go full speed ahead on reopening the Strait of Hormuz.

United States allies, however, prefer to drift with the tide of the war with Iran, which has blocked the strait through which passes a major amount of the world’s oil.

In a  Truth Social post Saturday, Trump wrote that “the Countries of the World that receive Oil through the Hormuz Strait must take care of that passage, and we will help — A LOT!”

“The U.S. will also coordinate with those Countries so that everything goes quickly, smoothly, and well,” Trump wrote.

“This should have always been a team effort, and now it will be — It will bring the World together toward Harmony, Security, and Everlasting Peace!” Trump wrote.

In another post, he specifically cited China, France, Japan, South Korea, and the United Kingdom as having vested interests in keeping the oil flowing.

However, rifts with Europe surfaced Sunday when Trump said NATO faced a “very bad” future if allies shied away from helping the U.S., noting that Europe needs Middle East oil more than ther United States does, according to The New York Times.

“It’s only appropriate that people who are the beneficiaries of the Strait will help to make sure that nothing bad happens there,” he said.

The newspaper summarized other international reaction:

The European Union said it was all for opening the strait, but did not go as far as saying action was imminent.

“It is in our interest to keep the Strait of Hormuz open, and that’s why we are also discussing what we can do in this regard,” said Kaja Kallas, the EU’s top diplomat for foreign affairs and security policy.

Ed Miliband, Britain’s energy minister, emphasized that the “best and simplest way” to reopen the strait was to curb the war.

Trump spoke to Prime Minister Keir Starmer on Sunday, but it was unclear if the U.K. would act.

Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi said none of its navy is heading into the dangerous waters of the war-torn Persian Gulf.

Takaichi is scheduled to meet with Trump on Thursday in Washington.

China sidestepped the question entirely, but has said the war should stop.

French President Emmanuel Macron has said that once the danger has passed, France would send warships to help ships make it through the strait.

Macron said he has told Iran it must allow ships to pass unmolested through the strait.

A representative of South Korean President Lee Jae Myung’s office said it would “communicate closely with the United States,” but made no promise of action.

Axios noted that opening the strait is expected to be preceded by military action to wipe out the threat of Iranian land-based missiles on the north side of the strait. (The United Arab Emirates and an enclave of Oman are on the strait’s south side.)

Trump framed the strategy this way: “the United States will be bombing the hell out of the shoreline, and continually shooting Iranian Boats and Ships out of the water. One way or the other, we will soon get the Hormuz Strait OPEN, SAFE, and FREE!”

No matter how far liberals sink, we can always count on them to explore new depths of pettiness.

For instance, leave it to liberals to grouse about a modest and historically appropriate change to a commemorative coin now in circulation.

Then, leave it to those same liberals to blame President Donald Trump for the design when, in fact, the change occurred during the final months of former President Joe Biden’s administration.

According to USA Today, “Americans are raising their eyebrows” at the new “Emerging Liberty Dime,” the back of which — for one year, at least — now features an eagle carrying only arrows in its talons, rather than the version of the eagle seen on the Great Seal of the United States, which shows the bird clutching arrows on one side and an olive branch on the on the other.

In other words, liberals have speculated that the removal of the peace-signifying olive branch symbolizes Trump’s bellicosity.

“The administration that has decided to call the Department of Defense the Department of War, has removed the olive branches from the eagle depicted on the 2026 dime,” one liberal wrote on the social media platform X. “The Great Seal of the United States, around since the 1700s, has always shown olive branches & arrows, but now …”

As usual, however, the liberals got it wrong.

In fact, the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee, which advises the treasury secretary, voted to approve the new design in October 2024, according to USA Today.

We may, therefore, rank this among the very few good decisions ever made under Biden.

After all, the point of these commemorative coins is to memorialize America’s independence in 1776. That independence, whether liberals like it or not, required a war.

Better yet, the absence of the olive branch carries a powerful symbolism that even the coin’s designers might not recognize.

On July 8, 1775 — three weeks after the Battle of Bunker Hill, and nearly three months after the clashes at Lexington and Concord — the Second Continental Congress sent Britain’s King George III a second petition, known to history as the Olive Branch Petition.

Signed by the likes of John Hancock, Samuel Adams, John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Patrick Henry, and Thomas Jefferson, the Olive Branch Petition affirmed colonists’ allegiance to the king and sought a peaceful redress of their many grievances. But the king denounced them as rebels, and they never again sought formal reconciliation.

In other words, notwithstanding their best efforts, sometimes the aggrieved and oppressed must fight. The American Revolution proved as much. And the new commemorative dime — despite liberals’ silly objections — tells the story properly.
