Former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich joined Laura Ingraham on Fox News to discuss the tragic and preventable murder of 18-year-old Loyola University student Sheridan Gorman.

Early in the morning on Thursday of last week, 18-year-old Loyola University student Sheridan Gorman was shot and killed near the Chicago campus by one of Joe Biden’s illegals.

The masked gunman approached a group of students walking in the Rogers Park neighborhood and opened fire, shooting Gorman in the head. She died at the scene.

On Sunday, it was confirmed that the masked gunman who killed Gorman is a 25-year-old illegal alien from Venezuela who entered the US under the Biden Regime. Police took Jose Medina-Medina into custody.

In its coverage of the tragedy, Loyola’s campus newspaper, The Phoenix, has caved to the woke mob by changing wording in the coverage of the murder of one of its own to placate the left’s agenda.

While originally referring to Medina as an illegal immigrant, they edited the post to frame him as a “Rogers Park Resident.”

Campus newspaper The Phoenix originally reported on the charges with an Instagram post titled: “Immigrant Man Charged in Murder of Sheridan Gorman, DHS Involved.”

The original post also referred to Medina as an “illegal immigrant.”

However, facing backlash, the student newspaper edited the post to remove the term “illegal immigrant.” The newspaper refers to Medina as a “Rogers Park Resident,” referring to the Chicago neighborhood where Loyola’s main campus is located.

An editor’s note was added to the original story, which spent almost as much time bemoaning the “harm” of calling the alleged murderer what he is than spent on the tragic death of a young woman just beginning her life.

On March 23, a post on The Phoenix’s Instagram page carried the following headline: “Immigrant Man Charged in Murder of Sheridan Gorman, DHS Involved.”

That headline didn’t reflect the most important elements in the story, and it was taken down minutes later to prevent any further harm to affected community members.

Additionally, in the body of the original post, we described the man who was charged as an “illegal immigrant,” using language provided by the Department of Homeland Security. That language does not align with Associated Press style, nor does it align with the values of this newspaper.

No human’s existence is illegal, and we quickly changed our wording to reflect that.

The House Intelligence Committee voted on Tuesday to release transcripts from 2019 hearings with the former Intelligence Community Inspector General, Michael Atkinson.

“The 2019 hearings were held to examine Atkinson’s role in an alleged whistleblower complaint, which ultimately led to Democrats’ first impeachment efforts against President Trump in December 2019,” the House Intel Committee said.

“The great deal of widespread speculation about the Atkinson classified hearing transcript is indicative of the American people’s complete and warranted mistrust of the Intelligence Community,” said Chairman Crawford.

“In far too many instances, the IC hides behind the veil of overclassification. Sometimes sunlight is the best disinfectant. As part of the Committee’s continued effort to balance the transparency the American people deserve and the need to protect sensitive national security information, we hope that the release of these transcripts allows the American people to make their own determinations. As Chairman, I remain committed to ensuring this Committee, where possible, is transparent as the IC works to rebuild trust with the American people,” he said.

CIA snitch Eric Ciaramella filed a whistleblower complaint in August 2019 over a July 25 phone call President Trump had with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky alleging Trump engaged in quid pro quo and pressured Zelensky to investigate the Biden crime family.

Changes were made to the whistleblower form to include watercooler talk, gossip and second-hand information and ICIG Michael Atkinson defended the changes.

Atkinson admitted in a previous statement that the agency changed its own whistleblower rules *because of the anti-Trump complaint* from CIA snitch Eric Ciaramella.

Although, the form should not have been accepted based on second-hand information and because it was about the President of the United States (who is not in the IC), Atkinson accepted the complaint.

The whistleblower later attempted to edit the form he originally provided.

The original form stated that the whistleblower did not talk to Congress before filing the form but after it was discovered that he had met with Adam Schiff’s team in Congress, the whistleblower attempted to edit his form.

Then-House Intel Chairman Adam Schiff lied when he stated publicly, “we have not spoken directly with the whistleblower.”

Beginning in June 2025, President Trump deployed National Guard troops and federal law enforcement to U.S. cities in a series of escalating operations. Troops arrived in Washington, D.C., in August 2025, Memphis in October 2025, and New Orleans on December 30, 2025. Deployments to Chicago and Portland became entangled in legal challenges and were suspended by January 2026. As of March 2026, active deployments continue in Washington, D.C., Memphis, and New Orleans.

The deployments have produced verifiable arrests and weapons seizures, and crime has fallen in every targeted city.

Violent crime in Washington, D.C., fell 29%, according to D.C. police statistics reported by NBC4 Washington. The city also saw a significant drop in killings, with 127 homicides compared to 187 in 2024 and 274 the year before, marking a second consecutive year of a 32% decline. In 2025, for the first time since 2017, fewer than 150 people were killed in the city, continuing a downward trend that began in 2024, according to The Washington Post.

The city is also on pace for its highest homicide arrest rate in over a decade, while police achieved their highest case clearance rates in years, solving roughly 72% of homicide cases. This marks a significant rebound from 2023, when the clearance rate had fallen to 52%.

Other violent crimes, including shootings, robberies, and carjackings, also decreased, and nearly 500 fewer people were injured by gunfire compared to two years earlier.

The decline came during a turbulent year for the city’s police department, which included a federal takeover ordered by President Trump, leadership changes, and investigations into crime data handling. Police reported improved performance, supported by expanded use of real-time crime analysis, targeted patrols, and coordination with federal agencies. Officials attributed the decline to a mix of factors, including improved policing strategies and increased federal support.

Memphis ended 2025 with 184 murders, a sharp decline from 249 the previous year. City officials reported that crime in 2025 was at its lowest point since 2001. The Memphis Police Department also reported that nearly 500 fewer people were injured in shootings than in 2024, a 38% decrease.

The Memphis Safe Task Force, created under a 2025 presidential memorandum and modeled on a similar initiative in Washington, D.C., combines National Guard forces with federal and local law enforcement to target street crime. Since its deployment on September 29, the task force has reported 4,698 arrests of violent fugitives and the recovery of 132 missing children, according to WREG, citing the Memphis Police Department.

In total, officials reported 7,342 arrests, including homicide, drug, and gang-related cases, along with the seizure of more than 1,200 illegal firearms, the recovery of 150 missing children, and the apprehension of just over 600 illegal aliens.

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth praised President Trump’s decision to grant National Guardsmen deployment pay and benefits equal to active-duty troops during a March 24, 2026, roundtable at the Memphis Air National Guard base. He framed the move as recognition of the Guard’s role in domestic operations and reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to restoring law and order in American cities.

New Orleans recorded 121 murders in 2025 compared to 125 in 2024, a 3% drop and a 50-year low. Excluding the 14 deaths from the January 1 terror attack on Bourbon Street, the murder rate fell 14% compared to 2024. Nonfatal shootings declined 3%, while armed robberies and carjackings dropped 28% and 35%, respectively. Compared with 2022, when the city led the nation in murder rate, homicides are down 55%.

The Louisiana National Guard deployment in New Orleans resulted in 175 human trafficking arrests, the removal of more than 100 firearms, and the seizure of 20 kilograms of cocaine. Working alongside local police, the operation also led to the rescue of four trafficking victims. Officials also pointed to the Guard’s role in maintaining order during major events such as Carnival, the Sugar Bowl, and New Year’s Eve, describing the overall impact as producing positive crime trends in the city.

The presence of National Guard troops maintaining order on the streets freed up officers to focus on other critical police work, such as policing high-crime areas and carrying out investigations. This has contributed to a spike in homicide arrests and case clearances.

Additionally, officials in New Orleans attributed the decline in crime rates to more targeted policing strategies, including increased use of technology, social media monitoring, and forensic tools, along with stronger coordination between local, state, and federal agencies. Improved prosecution and conviction rates were also cited as contributing factors, even as the police department continues to face staffing shortages.

Highway 44 westbound in Laclede County, Missouri, was shut down on March 17 after a semi-truck collided with a vehicle and caught fire.

“The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Troop I reported that a westbound I-44 was shut down at the 116-mile marker for a tractor-trailer fire,” KRCG reported last week.

A witness caught the aftermath of the accident after emergency responders arrived to the scene.

The semi-truck was completely engulfed in flames as the driver looked on in disbelief.

“Holy crap! What happened? Could you not see because of the sun?” a witness who goes by the TikTok username Sweetpeach 432.

The Indian driver could not communicate with the witness. It is unclear where the driver obtained his CDL.

“I couldn’t see either! It might blow up. Do you think we should get further back?” the witness said to the Punjab driver. “I’m glad you’re okay.”

“I don’t understand how you did it! You hit somebody else! I didn’t realize that!” she said.

The witness also walked over to a driver who was allegedly involved in the accident with the semi-truck.

Per the Lebanon Fire Department:

Yesterday at 1:53 PM, City of Lebanon Fire Department crews responded mutual aid to a semi-tractor fire at the westbound 115 mile marker, assisting Conway VFD.

Ladder 3 arrived on scene and assisted with fire suppression efforts. The semi, which was carrying a food product, was well involved in fire upon arrival. Flying embers from the incident ignited a small grass fire nearby, which was quickly extinguished by additional Conway VFD units.

Conway VFD was also assisted by Lebanon Rural Fire Protection District. Additional agencies on scene included Missouri State Highway Patrol, Laclede County Sheriff’s Office, MoDOT, and Mercy EMS.

“We appreciate the strong interagency cooperation that helps keep our community safe.”

The U.S. Army has officially raised its maximum enlistment age from 35 to 42 and scrapped key restrictions tied to marijuana-related offenses.

According to newly updated Army regulations, Americans in their late 30s and early 40s can now enlist across active duty, the National Guard, and reserves.

At the same time, recruits with a single marijuana or drug paraphernalia conviction will no longer need a waiver to join, eliminating a major barrier that previously required a lengthy approval process.

The changes will take effect on April 20, 2026.

Army Times reported:

The announcement comes as the Army continues efforts to widen its recruiting pool after falling short of its Regular Army enlistment goals in 2022 and 2023 before rebounding in 2024.

The upper limit of the Army’s previous allowable enlistment age was 35, but waivers were sometimes granted for older enlistees.

The Air Force and Navy allow recruits over 40, while the Marine Corps caps enlistment at 28 but allows hopefuls who are 29 or over to request waivers.

The average age of Army recruits is currently higher than previous years, with new recruits entering the service with an average enlistment age of 22.7, according to Army data.

The change comes as more states legalize cannabis, even though its use remains prohibited for service members.

Applicants with more serious drug-related offenses will still need waivers.

This isn’t the first time the Army has pushed enlistment age limits this high.

During major operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, the Army previously increased the age limit to 42 to meet high personnel demands. It was lowered back to 35 in 2016.
