Ambassador Mike Waltz was on “Sunday Morning Futures” with host Maria Bartiromo to talk about ‘Operation Epic Fury.’

“The maximum pressure campaign is still on. This is related just to those Iranian crude products that have already been loaded on vessels, correct?” Bartiromo asked regarding Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent’s comments.

“That’s absolutely right, Maria. President Trump’s maximum pressure campaign that he put in place his first term. The Biden administration lifted, and he put it back in place within weeks of starting his second term is absolutely still on,” Waltz said.

“What Secretary Bessent is referring to are the barrels of oil that are already out at sea, are already going to go to Chinese markets,” Waltz said.

Ambassador Waltz explained that with sanctions on Iran’s finances, it is unlikely they will make money on the barrels of oil that are already on the ships at sea.

“This is what the mainstream media keeps missing is that the sanctions on the banks are also still in place, so we do not anticipate Iran sees any of that money,” Waltz said.

“Their entire strategy, because they have been so defeated militarily, is to sow chaos, attack its neighbors, hold the world’s energy supply hostage, or at least attempt to, and this is just one more step to defeat that strategy,” Waltz said.

“At the end of the day, the United States and our global coalition will prevail,” Waltz continued.

“What is the President gonna do in 48 hours, which would be Monday night, if they don’t open up the Strait?” Bartiromo asked.

“As the President announced, he will start by attacking and destroying one of Iran’s largest power plants,” Waltz said.

“Unlike his predecessors, he stands by his redlines, and he’s not going to allow this genocidal regime to hold the world’s energy supplies or economies hostage,” Waltz explained.

“It’s very concerning that Iran was able to strike and send these intermediate term missiles all the way to Diego Garcia. I know one of the missiles was destroyed en route, but the other one, even though it didn’t hit the military operations there, is obviously telling the world that they have these long-term, long-time missiles, enough to travel and hit much of Europe. How concerned should we be about that?” Bartiromo asked.

“Well, it’s incredibly significant, Maria, because Iran has been marching towards an ICBM. They have hidden some of that development under a so-called space program,” Waltz said.

“They have developed a reentry capability with these intermediate-range missiles, and all you have to do is marry up the two with a nuclear warhead,” Waltz explained.

“Thank God President Trump isn’t waiting until that happens and then trying to respond to it. He’s taking care of the issue now, and he has been clear for many, many years. Iran can never have a nuclear weapon, and he is going to do everything in his power to stop it,” Waltz continued.

Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt has chosen oil and gas executive Alan Armstrong to fill the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by Sen. Markwayne Mullin.

The move comes as Mullin barrels toward confirmation as President Trump’s Secretary of Homeland Security.

President Donald Trump announced that Oklahoma Senator and undefeated MMA fighter Markwayne Mullin will lead the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) effective March 31.

If Mullin is confirmed and leaves the Senate, Kevin Stitt, the Republican governor of Oklahoma, will be required to appoint a temporary replacement to serve until voters choose a senator in the next election.

Under Oklahoma law, Governor Kevin Stitt will have 30 days to appoint a temporary U.S. senator to fill the vacancy until voters decide the seat in the next election.

The appointee will serve only briefly and is expected to sign an oath promising not to run for the seat in the upcoming election, a measure designed to prevent the advantages of incumbency in the race.

According to NOTUS, citing three sources, Stitt selected Armstrong, a longtime energy executive and former CEO of Williams Companies, to serve out the remainder of Mullin’s term.

The news outlet reported that Armstrong and Stitt were expected to meet with President Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago to finalize the decision.

Reports reveal Armstrong previously donated $5,800 to former Rep. Adam Kinzinger, one of the most vocal anti-Trump Republicans.

The two men are expected to meet with President Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago on Sunday to iron out the details of the appointment and discuss it further, two of the sources said.

The sources cautioned that the pick could change following that meeting.

In March 2021, Armstrong gave $5,800 to former Rep. Adam Kinzinger, who voted to impeach Trump, according to FEC records. Sources said the donations are likely to be a topic of conversation at Mar-a-Lago.

Armstrong, who chairs the board of directors for the energy company Williams, was one of three main names Stitt presented in meetings he had in Washington, D.C., earlier this month. While multiple names were floated, Stitt was focused on three people: his senior adviser Dustin Hilliary, oil baron Harold Hamm and Armstrong.

Stitt is expected to announce the appointment shortly after Mullin is officially confirmed by the Senate as secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, as early as Sunday.

Iran has responded to the “terrorist president of the United States” after Trump threatened to attack its power plants if Iran does not open the Strait of Hormuz by Monday.

Army spokesman Ebrahim Zolfaghari made the threat on state television.

“We have repeatedly said the Strait of Hormuz is closed only to the enemy and to harmful traffic.”

“It has not yet been completely closed and is under our intelligent control, and harmless transit – under specific regulations that ensure our security and interests – is allowed.

“However, if the United States carries out its threats against Iran’s power plants, the following punitive actions will be taken immediately

“The Strait of Hormuz will be completely closed and will not reopen until our damaged power plants are rebuilt.

“All power plants and the energy and information‑technology infrastructure of Israel will be widely targeted.

“All similar companies in the region that have American shareholders will be completely destroyed.

“Power plants in regional countries hosting US bases will be considered legitimate targets.”

The Iranian military has outlined a potential response to US President Donald Trump’s threats to attack the country’s power plants if Iran does not open the Strait of Hormuz.

The threats come after President Trump has issued a 48-hour ultimatum demanding that Iran fully reopen the Strait of Hormuz, warning that U.S. forces could target key power infrastructure if Tehran refuses.

The waterway, responsible for around one-fifth of global oil shipments, has faced increasing disruption in recent weeks, with Iran asserting control over traffic following clashes involving U.S. and Israeli forces.

Iran and its regional allies have responded with attacks on shipping lanes and energy-related targets, raising the risk of a prolonged conflict across the Middle East.

Thousands have reportedly been killed since the fighting began, with multiple countries now indirectly involved.

Today, after months of repairs on Baikonur, the Russian space agency Roscosmos successfully launched a Soyuz rocket with an uncrewed Progress Cargo Spacecraft atop it, headed to the International Space Station.

But the celebrations turned out to be short-lived, as it soon became known that a glitch in the Progress ship may make the mission considerably harder.

Space.com reported:

“A Soyuz rocket topped with the robotic Progress 94 freighter lifted off from the Russia-run Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan on Sunday at 7:59 a.m. EDT.

The launch went well, but Progress 94 suffered an issue shortly after deploying from its rocket ride: One of the antennas it’s supposed to use for automatic docking did not deploy, according to NASA.”

The Progress 94 ship carries 3 tons of food, propellant and other supplies to the astronauts (and cosmonauts) currently on board the International Space Station (ISS).

The cargo capsule is expected to dock with the ISS’s Poisk module on Tuesday morning.
