Lake exposed the nightmare scenario unfolding if radical Democrat Senator Ruben Gallego decides to cut and run amid the exploding scandal surrounding his “best friend” and longtime political ally, disgraced former Rep. Eric Swalwell.

Lake wrote on X:

“IMPORTANT— if Ruben Gallego resigns, the voters of Arizona will NOT choose who replaces him. The fraud sitting in the AZ Governor’s office named Katie Hobbs will pick the replacement who will then hold that Senate seat until 2028. Scary.”

She added, “She already knows who it is. God, Save Arizona.”

According to Arizona Revised Statutes § 16-222, when a vacancy occurs in the office of U.S. Senator, the Governor MUST appoint a person of the SAME POLITICAL PARTY as the one who vacated the seat.

Gallego is a Democrat, so Hobbs, the same radical who opposed Trump’s border measures and has been a disaster for Arizona, gets to handpick her preferred leftist to fill the slot.

And here’s where it gets even more outrageous: The timing seals the deal for the Democrats.

According to Arizona’s vacancy laws, the timing of the next election depends on when the vacancy happens:

• More than 150 days before a primary: If the vacancy occurs more than 150 days before the next regular primary election, the appointee serves only until the vacancy is filled at the next general election.
• 150 days or less before a primary: If the vacancy occurs 150 days or less before a primary, the appointee serves until the second regular general election after the vacancy occurs. 

With the next primary election just 98 days away on July 21, Arizona law dictates that the Hobbs-appointed replacement would serve until the SECOND regular general election after the vacancy, meaning they’d hold the seat all the way until 2028.

Lake’s comments come as Gallego faces increasing scrutiny from conservative media over his reported associations with controversial figures, including embattled former Congressman Eric Swalwell.

On Tuesday, Gallego held an emotional press conference where he admitted he “heard rumors” of Swalwell’s “flirty” behavior for years but chose to ignore them because, well, friendship.

He then proceeded to claim Swalwell “lied to all of us,” that their close personal ties “clouded his judgment,” and that he now “deeply regrets” the relationship.

A reporter asked Gallego if he was in the hotel room and sitting next to Swalwell on the bed in the leaked video.

Martin Shkreli and Jack Posobiec released videos of Swalwell sitting on a bed with a sex worker. A man who resembles Gallego is briefly seen sitting on the bed.

“Was that you sitting next to him?” a reporter asked Gallego.

Gallego said that was not him in the video.

“No, I was not sitting next to him, I was not in the room,” the Democrat Senator said.

“I didn’t know where it happened. Right-wing political operatives are pushing this narrative that somehow I was in that room with uh Eric Swalwell and that is an absolute lie,” he said.

The woke madness of the last decade or so has produced only one salutary result.

In politics and culture, it has called forth many admirable examples of resistance to its authoritarian demands.

For instance, in a recent interview, comedian Dave Chappelle refused to apologize when NPR’s Michel Martin asked how he would respond to critics who accuse him of “punching down” by making jokes about transgender people.

Throughout the segment, Chappelle remained polite. In fact, at times, he tried to meet Martin on her own terms.

He argued, for instance, that the media misconstrued what he actually said during his comedy shows. Thus, in blaming the media, he chose not to attack Martin for what, undoubtedly, he regarded as a silly and shopworn criticism.

“They almost reported on it as if I was doing something other than a comedy show,” Chappelle said.

Of course, when Martin persisted in that line of questioning, Chappelle had no choice but to get to the heart of the matter.

“If you’re a person that is very angry or passionate about something, and you’re afraid that you’re gonna be misrepresented or misconstrued, and you feel like you have to police comedy to get your point across,” the comedian said, “you should assess your point.”

Indeed, for defenders of free speech, that comment about policing comedy qualified as a particularly quotable line.

And Chappelle had more to say on the subject.

“I don’t silence your champions,” he said a minute or so later. “In fact, I make space for your champions to have a voice. But I’m not your champion, and I am someone else’s. You can’t silence the team that you don’t like — what they’re saying. But you do have the opportunity to go on after them — say your piece.”

That, he said, is the beauty of comedy.

Meanwhile, on the social media platform X, users responded to Martin’s “punching down” question by calling it an inversion of the truth and even suggesting that she personally did not believe it.

Her body language betrays her intent here. She isn’t even convicted enough to ask the question in the declarative, without “squirming through” her concerns of conflict, or correctness. She’s representing something she doesn’t believe on a fundamental level…

Perhaps Martin really did not believe all of the woke rubbish she spewed. Perhaps that helps explain why Chappelle remained so polite, for she did come across as a generally nice person.

If so, that would merely highlight woke ideology’s strange hold on the modern liberal mind. After all, it would mean that Martin asked that question not because she believed it, but because the culture had drilled it into her head or because she wanted to satisfy the NPR audience’s expectations.

Either way, Chappelle delivered the perfect response to authoritarians who try to “police” comedy and speech in general.

Former Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene is demanding that Congress invoke the 25th Amendment to remove President Trump from office.

Greene, a former MAGA stalwart who resigned from her House seat at the beginning of this year following a fallout with the White House, told CNN’s Christiane Amanpour that Trump was unfit for office.

Here is a transcript of their exchange:

AMANPOUR: You’ve been very critical of President Trump recently when he, you know, made that very apocalyptic threat to essentially wipe out. And a whole civilization will die tonight and will never be brought back. That’s what he said about Iran. You responded, 25th Amendment. Tell us what you what you meant.”

GREENE: I was absolutely shocked and horrified that the president, the man that I supported and helped get elected, would call for an entire civilization of people to be murdered.

When he talks about a civilization, he’s talking about every man, woman and child and the country of Iran to be killed.

I think that is completely unacceptable for the president of the United States, for any leader of any country around the world, to call for an entire civilization to be killed.

In a sense, the innocent lives to be wiped out. And, that really gave me grave concern for his mental capacity and that’s what the 25th Amendment is for.”

AMANPOUR: So just to be clear, it’s to, you know, through Congress, through those official, routes, is to sort of remove a president if they’re deemed unfit, to be able to carry out their duties. Do you believe that?”

GREENE: Yes. I really think that his mental capacity needs to be examined.
