Normally, we shouldn’t have to care about Ọmọba Antoinette Oyínkánsọ́lá Fernandez, better known as Antoinette Fernandez.

Her major claim to fame was that she was the Green Party candidate in the 2024 United Kingdom General Election for the parliamentary seat in Hackney North and Stoke Newington. She finished second, with 23 percent of the vote to 60 percent for the Labour Party candidate.

However, the Green Party — which has become a radical identitarian party that panders to the worst elements of Britain’s Islamic community — has seen a dramatic rise in its fortunes in the past few years, including winning a by-election in February that augurs poorly for Labour going forward. Fernandez, therefore, has a good chance of becoming a member of the U.K. Parliament in the not-too-distant future.

Second, Fernandez is profoundly ignorant and is willing to use that ignorance as a cudgel to make you think that she’s owed deference because of Britain’s colonial past. She is of Nigerian descent, and as she claims, her great-great-grandfather — a king — was overthrown by the Brits to avoid his people being massacred.

Just one problem, as users on social media pointed out: If her story is true, the British Navy overthrew her great-great-grandfather to stop the slave trade, which he was facilitating.

Talk about an unforced error.

So first the post, which was made a little under two years ago, but only got attention now. In it, Fernandez quote-posted a thread about the British annexation of Lagos, the former capital of Nigeria, in 1861.

“My great, great maternal grandfather was the Oba (king) of Lagos in 1861 and was forced — under threat of military bombardment — aka to avoid a massacre of the people — to cede Lagos over to the British,” she wrote.

“Lest we forget.”

Well, there are several errors in there, starting with the fact that the taking of Lagos happened in 1851 — but those keys are right next to each other.

Not next to each other are the keys “forced — under threat of military bombardment — aka to avoid a massacre of the people” and “forced to cede Lagos because it was an epicenter of the African slave trade and the king (or ‘oba,’ if you prefer) was involved in it.”

Thank heavens for community notes, which began popping up earlier this week:

Fernandez deleted the August 2024 post on Friday morning U.K. time, and indeed hasn’t posted anything from her X account, period, since 2025. However, a bit of background from the website Royal Marines History, which describes the battle in which the king was deposed following a Dec. 26, 1851, battle.

The battle of December 26, 1851 was termed by Lagosians Ogun Ahoyaya/Ogun Agidingbi (translated, “The Boiling Battle”). Captain Jones led the attack party consisting HMS Bloodhound, HMS Teaser, a flotilla of boats including The Victoria and The Harlequin equipped with overwhelming fire power engaged Kosoko in a battle lasting three days.

Kosoko put up a stiff resistance, but the Royal Navy’s superior firepower won the day. [Oba] Kosoko and his leading chiefs fled Lagos for Epe on December 28, 1851. According to Samuel Davies, a Saro and younger brother of JPL Davies who participated on the British side aboard HMS Bloodhound, Kosoko would have inflicted great losses on the Royal Navy if he had deployed his war canoes with their swivel guns. …

The power of the Royal Navy was subsequently used to suppress the slave trade, and while some illegal trade, mostly with Brazil, continued, the Atlantic slave trade would be eradicated by the middle of the 19th century.

Well, that’s not a good look. It’s worth noting that the official annexation of Lagos by the British occurred in 1861, but the overthrow of her beloved oba, who was behind shipping slaves to the Americas and elsewhere, happened 10 years earlier.

Why should this make a difference, aside from the fact that it’s a grimly humorous self-own?

For those of you who don’t have time to pay attention to the politics of dear ol’ Blighty while keeping track of our own, the U.K.’s system is undergoing a seismic upheaval at the moment. Since the World War II coalition government, the leader of the ruling coalition has either been a member of the Labour or Conservative party, the latter colloquially known as the “tories.” They function much as the Democrats or Republicans do in the United States — and even though there are a greater number of third parties who manage to make it into Parliament, they usually function as small members of the larger coalitions ruled by the left- or right-wing parties.

However, a succession of failed Labour and Conservative governments has soured the Brits on their two major parties, particularly on immigration (for the right) and support for Israel (on the left). A March Ipsos poll found that if a general election were held today, conservative alternative party Reform U.K., led by Nigel Farage, would get 28 percent of the vote, first place. The Greens are tied for third with 17 percent, and only four points behind Labour, their main rival.

Moreover, the “green” in Green Party isn’t ecological anymore so much as it is Islamist. When Hannah Spencer won that aforementioned by-election in Gorton and Denton in February, with more than 50 percent of the vote, she did it by pandering to the Islamic community there — releasing campaign advertisements in Urdu, a language related to Hindi but mostly spoken by Muslims, the U.K. National noted.

This is the kind of racial- and ethnic-identity struggle sessions that the Green Party hopes will win it votes the next time a major general election comes around. And you know what? They’re probably right.

Thus, expect to hear quite a bit about the perfidies visited by the Brits on Ọmọba Antoinette Oyínkánsọ́lá Fernandez’s great-great-grandfather, without any mention of the perfidies he visited on his own people, more than a few times in the House of Commons. We’ll get told the Brits were the ones behind the slave trade, without any talk of them ending it. And the media will just shut up and pretend that Africa would be wonderful if only we’d have listened to people like the modern Greens.

Vance steps up for peace

Vance goes to Pakistan.

As the world watches in anticipation if the US-Iran ceasefire will hold, and if peace can be negotiated, it arises that a key official in Donald J. Trump’s cabinet will head the peace negotiations.

Vice President JD Vance left today (10) for Islamabad, Pakistan, towards the biggest challenge of his career.

Vance will attempt to negotiate a deal with Iran to put an end to the conflict over Tehran’s nuclear program and end the war.

Axios reported:

“’This is a big deal for JD. He is going to the Super Bowl’, one U.S. official told Axios.

Vance will be joined by Trump’s envoys, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, as well as officials from the National Security Council and departments of State and Defense.

“’We are looking forward to the negotiation. I think it is going to be positive’, Vance said before departing Andrews Air Force Base. He said Trump gave the negotiating team ‘pretty clear guidelines’.

‘If the Iranians are willing to negotiate in good faith, we are willing to extend the open hand… if they try to play us, they are going to find that the negotiating team is not that receptive’, Vance said.”

Tweet from Donald J. Trump discussing Iran's international negotiations and strategies regarding waterway extortion, highlighting his views on their position in global politics.

President Trump Hits Back After Reporter Asks About a “Backup Plan” with Iran (VIDEO)

Donald Trump speaking to reporters at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland, with helicopters and staff members visible in the background.

President Trump on Friday departed the White House en route to Charlottesville, Virginia, for a fundraiser.

Trump stopped to chat with reporters before departing for Virginia.

The reporters peppered Trump with questions about the ceasefire with Iran and ongoing issues with the Strait of Hormuz.

Earlier this week President Trump announced a double-sided ceasefire and agreed to suspend his planned military strikes on Iran after speaking with the Pakistani Prime Minister:

Based on conversations with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir, of Pakistan, and wherein they requested that I hold off the destructive force being sent tonight to Iran, and subject to the Islamic Republic of Iran agreeing to the COMPLETE, IMMEDIATE, and SAFE OPENING of the Strait of Hormuz, I agree to suspend the bombing and attack of Iran for a period of two weeks.

This will be a double sided CEASEFIRE! The reason for doing so is that we have already met and exceeded all Military objectives, and are very far along with a definitive Agreement concerning Longterm PEACE with Iran, and PEACE in the Middle East.

We received a 10 point proposal from Iran, and believe it is a workable basis on which to negotiate. Almost all of the various points of past contention have been agreed to between the United States and Iran, but a two week period will allow the Agreement to be finalized and consummated.

On behalf of the United States of America, as President, and also representing the Countries of the Middle East, it is an Honor to have this Longterm problem close to resolution. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP

Iran reportedly accepted the ceasefire announced by President Trump, according to The New York Times and the Associated Press.

Earlier Thursday President Trump lashed out at Iran for restricting vessels from passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

“Iran is doing a very poor job, dishonorable some would say, of allowing Oil to go through the Strait of Hormuz. That is not the agreement we have! President DONALD J. TRUMP” Trump said on Thursday.

On Friday President Trump answered questions from reporters.

“What’s your backup plan?” a reporter asked President Trump.

“You don’t need a backup plan! Their military is defeated!” Trump said.

Man discussing Mamdani's proposed racial equity tax targeting white neighborhoods, emphasizing its significance for future policy changes.

This is the future of the Democrat party.

The left rallied behind Mamdani and made him mayor of the nation’s largest city. He is the shining example of the next generation of Democrat leadership as he completely runs the city into the ground.

Now he wants to effectively impose a raced based tax system to shift the burden onto white people.

The Gateway Pundit reported,

The mayor of America’s largest city, socialist Zohran Mamdani, has a plan to tax white people more. This appears to be an egregious violation of the 14th Amendment to the Constitution, which calls for all races to have equal protection under the law.

On April 7, 2026, New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani released the Preliminary Citywide Racial Equity Plan, described as the first government-wide racial equity framework in the city’s history, along with a “True Cost of Living” measure. The plan spans 45 agencies and includes more than 200 agency-level goals, over 800 strategies, and roughly 600 performance indicators.

The framework is inseparable from a property tax proposal Mamdani advanced during his mayoral campaign, in which he called for shifting tax burdens from outer-borough homeowners to “more expensive homes in richer and whiter neighborhoods,” arguing the current system undertaxes high-value real estate.

The proposed estate tax threshold of $750,000, which would impose a 50 percent state estate tax on homes above that value, potentially raising the combined federal and state rate to 70 percent, closely matches the median home value for white homeowners in New York City, as documented in the city comptroller’s own racial wealth gap report.

Americans need to look no further than New York City if they want to know what Democrats would like to do should they obtain power again.

Mamdani and his plans, his policies, his platform are the future of the Democrat party, and it is further destroying a once great nation for all to see.

Iran Appointed to UN Program for Women’s Rights, Disarmament, and Terrorism Prevention

Iran Appointed to UN Program for Women’s Rights, Disarmament, and Terrorism Prevention

Iran Appointed to UN Program for Women’s Rights, Disarmament, and Terrorism Prevention
April 10, 2026

Images depicting women in various contexts, including portraits, a noose, and stones, highlighting themes of justice and societal issues.
Iran has been appointed to several UN committees on women’s rights, despite the fact that Iran’s legal system limits the rights of women, while the IRGC kills protesters, tortures prisoners, and carries out more executions than any other country.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has been nominated to the U.N. Committee for Program and Coordination, which shapes policy on women’s rights, human rights, disarmament, and terrorism prevention. The nomination was backed by ECOSOC members, including the UK, Spain, Canada, France, Germany, Norway, the Netherlands, Australia, Switzerland, Austria, and Finland.

This is part of a broader pattern. In February 2026, an Iranian regime official took her seat as a full member of the UN Human Rights Council’s Advisory Committee, contributing to discussions on gender perspectives and gender-based violence, while Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister addressed the council’s high-level opening session.

Iran was previously removed from a comparable body in 2022, when ECOSOC voted 29 to 8 to remove it from the Commission on the Status of Women following its violent crackdown on protesters after the death of Mahsa Amini. It is now being nominated back onto similar bodies.

Iran has no standing to shape global policy on women’s rights. The country executed 65 women in 2025, up from 34 in 2024, 26 in 2023, and 15 in 2022, the highest number of women’s executions recorded in 25 years, with nine more executed in the first two months of 2026. During the January 2026 protests, at least 250 women were killed by government forces using live ammunition, and 207 cases of femicide were recorded across Iran in 2025.

The UN’s own Special Rapporteur on Iran has described the country as maintaining a system of gender apartheid, enforced through the Chastity and Hijab Law, which criminalizes women’s dress through 71 articles, imposes fines and prison terms, and empowers intelligence agencies to surveil and punish women in public life. The legal age of marriage for girls remains 13, with younger girls eligible for marriage with a father’s approval.

Iran’s record on human rights is no less disqualifying. By the end of December 2025, Iran had executed over 2,000 people, the highest known number of executions since the late 1980s, with more than half for drug offenses in violation of international law and with women and ethnic minorities increasingly targeted.

In January 2026, security forces carried out mass killings of protesters amid a nationwide internet and telecommunications shutdown, with independent monitors verifying over 6,000 fatalities. At least six juvenile offenders were executed in 2025, in direct violation of Iran’s obligations under the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Hundreds of lawyers, journalists, human rights defenders, and religious minorities remain arbitrarily detained.

On terrorism, Iran has been designated the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism by the United States since 1984. The IRGC is designated as a terrorist organization by the United States, the European Union, Australia, Canada, Argentina, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Ukraine, and more than a dozen other countries.

Through the IRGC and its Quds Force, Iran funds, arms, and directs Hezbollah, Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, the Houthis, and multiple Iraqi militias, while conducting direct attacks against U.S. military personnel, Israeli targets, and dissidents on foreign soil.

On disarmament, Iran has pursued a covert nuclear program, developed long-range ballistic missiles capable of reaching Europe, and supplied Shahed drones to Russia for use in Ukraine. In August 2025, a senior IRGC commander stated publicly that Iran has been developing long-range missiles for two decades, capable of reaching Europe and potentially targeting U.S. assets.

During the 64th session of the UN Commission for Social Development, held February 2–10, 2026, Iran’s Abbas Tajik was elected vice-chair of the 65th session without objection, as the commission prepared to focus on democracy, gender equality, tolerance, and non-violence, four areas in which Iran’s record is among the worst in the world.

Iran is a theocratic authoritarian state with no free elections, no independent judiciary, and no permitted political opposition. It executes religious minorities, detains journalists, lawyers, and human rights defenders, and suppresses ethnic minority populations, while funding and directing Hezbollah, Hamas, the Houthis, and multiple militant proxy networks across the region.

Several structural factors explain how Iran secures these nominations. The UN operates through regional group nominations, and Iran, as a member of the Asian group, can obtain a nomination simply by being present and active within that bloc, regardless of its conduct. Those nominations are typically rubber-stamped.

The ECOSOC members who backed Iran’s nomination included Western democracies that simultaneously designate the IRGC as a terrorist organization, a contradiction that reflects diplomatic horse-trading in which countries support each other’s nominees in exchange for reciprocal support with no regard for whether the nominee is appropriate.

Some Western governments have also historically believed that keeping Iran inside multilateral institutions preserves a channel for negotiation, particularly on the nuclear file. Beyond that, the UN has no mechanism requiring that a country’s domestic conduct align with the mandate of the committee it joins.

Membership is a political process, not a merit-based one. Iran also pursues these seats strategically, as membership confers legitimacy, intelligence on other nations’ positions, and the ability to obstruct proceedings from within.

In each of the areas covered by these committees, Iran is among the world’s worst active offenders. Its nomination is a demonstration of how the UN’s regional bloc system can be exploited to place the most egregious violators in positions of authority over the norms they systematically destroy.
