A Ursine encounter is one of the most terrifying experiences in the natural world.
There are various schools of thought about what a person should (or should not) do when faced with such a situation.
Yesterday (22), a terrifying video surfaced showing a massive brown bear charging toward a hiker in California’s Angeles National Forest.
One peculiar aspect of the video is that the hiker makes the unusual – and apparently unadvisable – decision to move towards the animal, instead of backing down.
“In the video, a man dressed in hiking gear and wearing a hat is seen walking toward the bear—not away—and shaking bells in an apparent attempt to scare it off.
Instead, the agitated animal appears to charge toward him before the video cuts off. The close, face-to-face encounter—just feet apart—was captured by another hiker nearby.”
“’I was thinking this guy is crazy, and I hope nothing happens to him’, Erin Chiu, who recorded the video, told NBCLA. ‘I’m not sure what was going through his mind, to be honest, because the last thing you would expect is for someone to actually walk toward a bear. At that point, I was a little concerned for his safety.”
Chiu reportedly hikes the same trail three times a week and had never seen a bear before.
“The hiker was eventually able to slowly back away as the bear moved toward him. Experts say the most important thing to remember if you encounter a bear is simple: do not run.”

Trump Blasts Chuck Schumer for Declaring ‘Nobody Respects Border Patrol or ICE’ — ‘HE MUST IMMEDIATELY APOLOGIZE TO THESE GREAT PATRIOTS, AND I MEAN NOW!’

President Donald Trump delivered a brutal takedown of Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer on Thursday after the New York Democrat declared on the Senate floor that “nobody respects” U.S. Border Patrol agents and ICE officers.
Trump said Schumer’s comments were some of the most “egregious, incorrect, unpatriotic, and dangerous statements” ever uttered by a sitting politician.
Schumer made the vile remarks while criticizing a Republican-led funding blueprint that would provide billions more for ICE and Border Patrol operations.
“America is crying out for relief from high costs, and you’re here adding $140 billion to an agency that nobody — two groups — Border Patrol and ICE, that nobody respects in this country,” the Democrat politician claimed.

Trump demanded an immediate apology to the men and women of Border Patrol and ICE, writing:
“Wow! Cryin’ Chuck Schumer just said, for the whole World to hear, that ‘NOBODY RESPECTS BORDER PATROL OR ICE.’ That is one of the most egregious, incorrect, unpatriotic, and dangerous statements I have EVER heard from a ‘professional’ politician. HE MUST IMMEDIATELY APOLOGIZE TO THESE GREAT PATRIOTS, AND I MEAN NOW!”
Senate Majority Whip John Barrasso responded that ICE and Border Patrol agents are not the problem, “Democrats are.”
“Today’s Democrats are a rogue and radical party,” Barrasso said. “You deserve better than reckless Democrat hostage-taking. You deserve the tools and support from Congress necessary to carry out the mission Congress has given you. Our country depends on you.”
The Senate GOP’s plan would fund both agencies for the remainder of President Donald Trump’s term. Republicans want to front-load the agencies with over $70 billion out of concern that Democrats would never agree to allocate taxpayer dollars to them again.
Lawmakers dashed through amendment vote after amendment vote, with Democrats teeing up several add-ons to the budget blueprint designed to attack Republicans.
Several of the Democratic amendments targeted affordability and economic issues in the country, and all failed along party lines.

Germany is up in arms.
Yesterday (22), Germany revealed for the first time the new strategic documents for the most comprehensive revamp of the Bundeswehr in decades.

The documents include a ‘standalone military strategy’, a ‘new capability profile’, a plan for growing troop numbers, and a new reserve strategy.
This overhaul was first announced by Defense Minister Boris Pistorius in November, calling it ‘a historic turning point’.

‘Rarely has a military strategy been as necessary as in this historical phase’, he told reporters. The documents, which the ministry describes as classified ‘living documents’ subject to ongoing revision, will serve as the strategic foundation for the Bundeswehr for the next 20 years.”

Pistorius declined to detail the classified threat assessments, quipping that releasing them would be tantamount to ‘adding Vladimir Putin to our email distribution list’. The strategy also marks a doctrinal shift toward a ‘one theater approach’, treating NATO territory, the Middle East and the Indo-Pacific as interconnected security spaces rather than discrete theaters.
The accompanying capability profile moves away from rigid hardware quotas − the number of tanks, aircraft or ships − toward a flexible, effects-based planning model. The question is not how many battalions the German army needs, but what effects it must be able to produce, said the defense minister. Vox and PP are real political threats to Sánchez’s Socialists.
With his wife under criminal indictment for corruption, and his Socialist party maimed by endless sexual harassment allegations, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez is trying to regain the political initiative.
He has approved a deranged plan to give Spanish citizenship to HALF A MILLION illegals and hosted a summit of leftist leaders to face Donald J. Trump and ‘the far right’ (a.k.a. the patriotic forces).
But when it comes to actually winning the graces of the Spanish voters, it does seem as if he is still way off.
Yesterday (22), during a debate in parliament, Sánchez called the agreement between conservative PP and right-wing Vox in the Extremadura region ‘a kick to the constitution’.
In Spain, apparently, there isn’t a ‘firewall’ against alliances with the right, as it still exists in Germany and other EU countries.
“Spain’s [rightwing] Vox party returned to the regional government of Extremadura on Wednesday after reaching a deal with the conservative Popular Party (PP), renewing their alliance ahead of a general election expected in 2027.
Regions wield significant powers in key areas such as health and education in Spain’s decentralized political system, making the western region’s government a potential bellwether for the national vote.”

“The PP’s Maria Guardiola was re-elected as head of the Extremadura government on Wednesday with Vox’s support, securing 40 votes in favor and 25 against in the regional parliament.
She was sworn in shortly afterwards and embraced by Vox’s regional leader, Óscar Fernández, who will serve as her deputy in the new coalition government. The agreement between the two parties includes several measures aimed at tightening immigration rules.”
