Appeals Court Sides With Texas on 10 Commandments in Classroom, Overruling Lower Court
April 22, 2026

The 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that the state of Texas can require the Ten Commandments to be displayed in public school classrooms, marking a victory for upholding the nation’s Christian foundation of the law.

The 9-8 decision overrules a preliminary injunction put in place by a federal district court judge in November, who concluded that “displaying the Ten Commandments on the wall of a public-school classroom as set forth in S.B. 10 [Senate Bill 10] violates the [First Amendment’s] Establishment Clause.”

The First Amendment says in part that “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.” But the Supreme Court has ruled that the Amendment’s protections apply to state law.

In the 5th Circuit’s majority opinion, Judge Stuart Kyle Duncan wrote, “To Plaintiffs, merely exposing children to religious language is enough to make the displays engines of coercive indoctrination. We disagree.”

“S.B. 10 authorizes no religious instruction and gives teachers no license to contradict children’s religious beliefs (or their parents’). No child is made to recite the Commandments, believe them, or affirm their divine origin.”

Further, “Students are neither catechized on the Commandments nor taught to adopt them. Nor are teachers commanded to proselytize students who ask about the displays or contradict students who disagree with them. Most importantly, the ‘coercion’ characteristic of religious establishments was government pressure to engage in religious worship.” The majority concluded that it was clearly not the case in posting the Ten Commandments in classrooms.

Judge Stephen A. Higginson, in his dissenting opinion joined by four others on the court, wrote that the framers of the Constitution “intended disestablishment of religion, above all to prevent large religious sects from using political power to impose their religion on others.”

“Our court accommodates their unconstitutional request, supplanting decades of Supreme Court precedent merely because of a single decision the majority deems outdated. In doing so, the majority defies foundational First Amendment concepts, ignores the harms students will face, and usurps parents’ rights to determine the religious beliefs they wish to instill in their own children,” he added.

The American Civil Liberties Union released a statement following Tuesday’s ruling, saying, “The Court’s ruling goes against fundamental First Amendment principles and binding U.S. Supreme Court authority. The First Amendment safeguards the separation of church and state, and the freedom of families to choose how, when and if to provide their children with religious instruction. This decision tramples those rights,” according to CBS News.

Texas State Sen. Phil King, who authored the legislation, called the 5th Circuit’s ruling a great day for Texas.

“As I have said all along, few documents in the history of Western civilization and in American history have had a larger impact on our moral and legal code, and our culture, than the Ten Commandments,” he said, according to CBS News.

“Returning this historical document to public school classrooms will provide moral clarity and allow students to better understand the foundation for much of American history and law. This is a great day for Texas!”

The Declaration of Independence refers to God four times, including in its very first sentence, “the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God,” which were used to justify the United States’ separation from Britain.

The preeminent law book at the time of the founding, Blackstone’s “Commentaries on the Laws of England,” explained the meaning of the two sources of law referenced in the Declaration.

“Upon these two foundations, the law of nature [established by God and observable in creation] and the law of revelation [found in the Bible, directly revealed by God, including the Ten Commandments], depend all human laws; that is to say, no human laws should be suffered to contradict these,” Blackstone wrote.

As I explain in my book “We Hold These Truths,” the Ten Commandments recognize the right to life (“You shall not murder”) and the right to own property (“You shall not steal”).

The commandment not to covet your neighbor’s house “or anything that is your neighbor’s” is also an acknowledgement of the right to own property and a rebuke to the central tenet of socialism, namely, using the force of government to redistribute wealth.

Another commandment, “You shall not bear false witness,” creates the right not to be falsely accused of a crime — which, of course, would result in the loss of one’s life, liberty, or property. The right to due process of law in the Constitution is designed to protect the accused from false allegations.

The commandment to “honor your father and your mother” establishes the central role of family in society.

So, Sen. King is correct: The Ten Commandments are the foundation of American law. Therefore, Texas is right to give them a prominent place in the schoolhouse.

Press conference featuring multiple individuals at a podium with a branded backdrop, capturing a moment of interaction and engagement among attendees.

Former President Bill Clinton crashed the Dallas Cowboys’ draft press conference on Wednesday.

Jerry Jones’s press conference came to a screeching halt when Bill Clinton walked into the room.

Jones stood up to greet President Clinton when he almost fell off the stage.

“Look at this right here. Come in this house,” Jerry Jones said.

Jones praised Clinton and called him a great friend.

“He’s been a wonderful, not only president, but a friend over the years, and really happy to have you here today,” Jones said.

“Thank you. Glad to see you. Happy draft day,” Clinton said.

Jones praised the press after he greeted Clinton.

“They’ve spent their life and elected to spend their life in sport, and that’s why they’re here. And they could have been doctors or lawyers,” Jones said.

“And so when they kick my you know what, and they do, I say guys, we’re actually cousins because we both elected to spend our years in sports around here. So be a little sweeter if you will,” he said.

“And that goes there, but great bunch of folks. They do a great job, and they’re a big part of what sports and the NFL is about. And this unquestionably will be the largest press conference going on in the NFL today,” Jones added.

Clinton chimed in and charmed the room full of reporters.

The NFL draft begins Thursday evening.

Gates Foundation to Cut Hundreds of Jobs Amid Epstein Investigation

Gates Foundation to Cut Hundreds of Jobs Amid Epstein Investigation
April 22, 2026

Mugshot of a middle-aged man with gray hair and a beard, looking directly at the camera against a neutral background.

The Gates Foundation, co-founded by Microsoft billionaire Bill Gates, will eliminate as many as 500 jobs in the coming years.

According to an internal email reviewed by The Wall Street Journal, the foundation also opened an external review of its ties to the deceased sex offender and suspected sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.

Those 500 jobs, set to be phased out by 2030, represent approximately 20 percent of the organization’s total workforce.

According to the email, the foundation plans to cut 200 of those jobs by the end of 2027. Reductions in travel and other expenses will accompany the cuts.

“This is a challenging time for our organization in many ways, but it also highlights the critical importance of taking the tough actions now,” Gates Foundation CEO Mark Suzman wrote in the email.

When the Justice Department released files on Epstein in December and again in January, Gates’ name figured prominently.

The billionaire, for instance, appeared with various women in photos released by the House Oversight Committee in December.

Then, when the DOJ released a much larger batch of files in late January, a very unflattering email from Epstein suggested that Gates had contracted a sexually transmitted disease from Russian girls and had planned to give his then-wife Melinda Gates antibiotics without her knowledge — a suggestion that Melinda appeared to confirm in an interview with NPR.

The Microsoft billionaire later admitted to affairs with two Russian women and apologized to Foundation staffers. He also said that Epstein learned of the affairs.

On June 10, Gates will appear for an in-person transcribed interview before the House Oversight Committee.

For the foundation, the stakes appear high. After all, the internal email reviewed by the WSJ effectively linked the job cuts to the Epstein revelations.

On one hand, the Microsoft billionaire himself seems unlikely to suffer financially. According to Forbes’ real-time billionaires’ list, Gates ranks as the world’s 19th-richest person with an estimated net worth of $103.9 billion.

On the other hand, the foundation relies on substantial gifts from wealthy donors.

For instance, according to the Wall Street Journal, 95-year-old Berkshire Hathaway billionaire Warren Buffett — the world’s 13th-richest person, per Forbes — gave the Gates Foundation $43 billion between 2006 and 2024, and Buffett recently told CNBC that he might not give more.

The Gates Foundation has used its $86 billion endowment to address childhood mortality, infectious diseases, and other health and development issues in Africa.

Gates himself, however, has often commented on — and driven research funds toward — science and medicine more generally.

Indeed, despite his tech background, the Microsoft billionaire has focused on climate change and vaccines in particular.

The Minnesota Democrat’s husband’s questionable California winery LLC has been officially dissolved, just nine days after she quietly amended her financial disclosures to slash her reported wealth from millions down to peanuts.

As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, Omar’s husband Tim Mynett’s ESTCRU LLC (also known as eStCru Wines) was at the heart of a suspicious asset explosion that rocketed the couple’s net worth to as high as $30 million before suddenly vanishing into thin air.

In February, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer sent a letter to Omar’s husband, Timothy Mynett, about the sudden wealth.

The letter reads:

Financial disclosure forms, filed by your wife Representative Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, show eStCru LLC and Rose Lake Capital LLC, which you hold ownership stakes in, went from being worth as much as $51,000 in 2023 to as much as $30 million in 2024.

Given that these companies do not publicly list their investors or where their money comes from, this sudden jump in value raises concerns that unknown individuals may be investing to gain influence with your wife.

Media reports further suggest that you may have raised money from investors using misleading information, meaning some of those funds may have been obtained improperly. 3 As a result, the Committee requests documents and communications related to the finances of eStCru LLC (eStCru) and Rose Lake Capital LLC (Rose Lake Capital).

Representative Omar’s 2023 Financial Disclosure Report, filed on May 14, 2024, lists a stake in your winery eStCru worth between $15,001 and $50,000, and a stake in your venture capital management firm Rose Lake Capital worth between $1 and $1000, as well as various retirement accounts, making your combined total listed assets worth no more than $208,000.

Representative Omar’s 2024 Financial Disclosure Report, filed on May 14, 2025, lists a stake in eStCru worth between $1,000,001 and $5,000,000, and a stake in Rose Lake Capital worth between $5,000,001-$25,000,000, making both of your assets potentially worth more than $30 million, an increase of more than 140 times in just one year.

There are serious public concerns about how your businesses increased so dramatically in value only a year after reporting very limited assets.

After receiving the letter, Omar quietly amended her financial disclosure on March 26, 2026, dramatically revising her reported wealth downward, from what had appeared to be potentially millions in assets to a far more modest range between $18,000 and $95,000.

Her office scrambled to explain away the massive discrepancy, blaming what they described as an “accounting error” tied to her husband’s business liabilities. According to Omar’s team, the original filing failed to properly deduct debts, creating what they called a “misleading picture of far greater wealth.”

And what happened next? On April 4, 2026, just nine days after that amended filing, ESTCRU LLC was officially terminated.

Minnesota State Senator Michael Holmstrom sounded the alarm on X, revealing that a company tied to Omar’s financial disclosures, ESTCRU LLC, a California-based winery venture, was abruptly shut down.

Attached to his post was the official “Certificate of Cancellation – LLC Termination” for ESTCRU LLC, Entity Number 202018810577. The state of California has now accepted and filed the termination.

The LLC is no longer active. Its powers, rights, and privileges are terminated. The “business” has been formally dissolved and canceled.

The document was signed by her husband Tim Mynett’s business partner, former DNC adviser Will Hailer.

Holmstrom wrote:

“Ilhan Omar’s sham winery LLC was dissolved 9 days after her updated disclosures.”

TRUMP STOPS EXECUTIONS: Eight Women Protesters SPARED in Iran After Last-Minute Intervention

President Donald Trump announced that eight women protesters in Iran facing execution will NOT be put to death after his direct intervention.

On Tuesday, Trump urged the Iranian regime to release the detainees:

“To the Iranian leaders, who will soon be in negotiations with my representatives: I would greatly appreciate the release of these women. I am sure that they will respect the fact that you did so. Please do them no harm! Would be a great start to our negotiations!!!”

Just one day after President Trump publicly demanded their release on Truth Social as a goodwill gesture ahead of critical negotiations, the President announced the life-saving breakthrough.

Trump announced on Truth Social that the executions scheduled for tonight have been halted. Four of the women will be released immediately, and the other four will receive only one-month prison sentences.

“Very good news! I have just been informed that the eight women protestors who were going to be executed tonight in Iran will no longer be killed. Four will be released immediately, and four will be sentenced to one month in prison. I very much appreciate that Iran, and its leaders, respected my request, as President of the United States, and terminated the planned execution. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”

Recall the horrors we’ve reported here at The Gateway Pundit. During the January 2026 nationwide protests against the tyrannical Ayatollah regime, the IRGC unleashed live ammunition on unarmed demonstrators, killing thousands, including hundreds of women and young girls.

Iran’s execution machine went into overdrive, with the regime hanging protesters in public squares as a warning to anyone daring to demand freedom.

Just five days ago, we reported on the barbaric plans to execute the first female protester, Bita Hemmati, along with her husband and two others, after a sham Revolutionary Court trial. The regime has been ramping up its reign of terror, executing 65 women in 2025 alone, a sickening record, while the so-called “international community” and left-wing media looked the other way.

Last month, the bloodthirsty Iranian regime carried out public hangings, executing three young men, including a promising 19-year-old wrestling champion, over their alleged involvement in anti-government protests earlier this year.
