Not satisfied with destroying Chicago, Democrats in the state want to make sure all Illinoisans suffer.  A new bill would override local laws and force access for homeless encampments in all public parks.

Wirepoints notes that under House Bill 1429, the Local Regulation of Unsheltered Homelessness Act, local towns, park districts, cities, forest preserves, and all other municipalities of any kind “would have their home rule authority on the matter stripped away.”

Per Wirepoints:

It’s House Bill 1429, the Local Regulation of Unsheltered Homelessness Act, which says local governments wouldn’t be able to establish or enforce a rule fining or criminally punishing homeless people for participating in “life sustaining activities.”

But “life sustaining activities,” under the bill’s definition, means most anything people routinely do. It would include, but not be limited to, “moving, resting, sitting, standing, lying down, sleeping, protecting oneself from the elements, eating, drinking 5(excluding alcohol), and storing personal property as needed to shelter oneself.”

The bill has 31 sponsors, and they all have one thing in common…they are all Democrats. 

The Restore Gompers Park Coalition, which opposes the bill, notes, “Public parks are not a permanent place to live. They do not have the infrastructure to support basic human needs. Gompers Park became a permanent place to live for over two years to an encampment of unhoused individuals. It limited the public’s access, caused public safety risks with illegal activity, and destruction to the environment.”

“There was illegal drug use, with used needles discarded throughout the park, prostitution, battery, fires, hidden weapons and knives found in trees and bushes, extensive shoplifting at nearby stores, threatening behavior, lewd conduct and indecent exposure, excessive garbage, debris and human waste, and a pit bull kept off leash by someone in the encampment that viscously attacked 3 dogs.”

“There were over 21 fires at Gompers Park during this time which required Chicago Fire Department to extinguish. The public safety risk posed around the little league baseball diamond threatened to have all games moved to surrounding parks.
When public spaces are allowed to become permanent places to live these images demonstrate what can be the result. Once the Accelerated Moving Event occurred and the unhoused were paired with housing and support services, the work to restore Gompers Park began.”

The group also shared a gallery of photos showing the reality residents are facing.

Local radio host Jeanne Ives lays out the reality of the bill.

“If HB 1429 becomes law, it would turn public spaces in Illinois into homeless encampments. The bill allows the homeless to occupy playgrounds, parkways, forest preserves, your neighborhood park, or other public places indefinitely. The homeless would be allowed to eat, drink, relax, sleep, and do other life-sustaining activity in the parks.”

“They are even allowed to store their personal property there. The bill says authorities are allowed to request that homeless move in order to allow access to others, or if there’s a scheduled event, but could only be removed if, in cases of emergencies, the homeless were a problem. That would be imminent death or severe injury or destruction of property.”

“If that were to occur, then a homeless person could be removed. But before removal, authorities would have to give a 3-day notice and offer them transportation, social services, and other resources to solve their housing needs. But let’s be clear, the homeless are already offered help through multiple nonprofits and social service agencies. Just one grant in this year’s state budget will spend $27 million on homeless prevention.”

“Another grant, the Emergency and Transitional Housing Program, will spend over $90 million. And that’s just two of the many homeless and housing grant programs.”

“Maybe the Democrats should assess the effectiveness of those grants before letting the homeless take over parks. Most homelessness is the result of people with deep mental health or drug problems. Allowing them to overrun public parks doesn’t help them, and it destroys any goodwill between the community and those in need.”

“HB 1429 is opposed by mayors and managers across the state, the chiefs of police, the sheriffs’ association, and various local governments, including park districts and forest preserves.”

“The bill defies common sense.”

The crisis between Noboa and Petro reflects the South American dispute between patriots and leftists.

Against the background of Donald J. Trump’s new policy for the Western Hemisphere, many countries – such as Ecuador – have rushed to ally themselves with the US.

But others – such as Colombia – preferred to ally themselves with leftist hacks such as Spain’s embattled PM Pedro Sánchez and denounce Trump’s ‘Shield of the Americas’.

This polarization is leading to a diplomatic and trade crisis between Ecuador and Colombia.

Last Sunday (19), Colombia’s Gustavo Petro said he intends to sue his Ecuadorian president, Daniel Noboa.

Noboa previously accused him of having ties to the leader of the ruthless criminal cartel ‘Fito’.

Associated Press reported:

“Petro announced his decision in a post on X in which he did not provide details of the lawsuit, including the country and venue in which he plans to file it. His threat is the latest twist in the running dispute of the ideologically opposed presidents whose countries are battling surges in crime driven by drug trafficking.

Noboa on Saturday told a Colombian newspaper that Petro had met with members of Ecuador’s largest political opposition party, some of whom ‘have ties to Fito’. Noboa was referring to Adolfo Macías, alias ‘Fito’, the leader of one of Ecuador’s most powerful criminal organizations, who was extradited to the United States last year on drug- and weapon-trafficking charges.”

“’I have decided to file a criminal lawsuit against President Noboa for his slander’, Petro wrote on X on Sunday. He also explained that Noboa ordered the Ecuadorian Army to protect him 24/7 when he visited the coastal city of Manta in May for Noboa’s second term inauguration. Manta has long been a hub for the trafficking of cocaine produced in Colombia.

[…] Petro’s announcement comes during a dispute between the two leaders that has plunged Colombia and Ecuador into a trade war since January, when Noboa unilaterally imposed tariffs on Colombian imports, citing a lack of control at their shared border.”

Democrats may want hold off on drinking too much champagne after last night’s results in the Commonwealth of Virginia because President Trump may have something up his sleeve to turn their cheers into tears.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, Virginia voters last night narrowly passed the redistricting referendum that will benefit Democrats and disenfranchise millions of Virginia independents and Republicans.

The map goes from a perfectly fair 6-5 Dem-GOP split to a whopping 10-1 advantage for Team Blue. Far-left NOVA will also essentially run the state, having 6 of the 11 representatives.

Governor Abigail Spanberger lied to the people of Virginia on the campaign trail, saying that she would not back this and it was almost the first thing she did once in office.

The gerrymander has massive potential to backfire on Democrats, much like the passage of Obamacare. And according to one of President Trump’s former staffers, there is a way for Trump to make the Democrats pay with the mere stroke of a pen.

Chad Mizelle, who served a former chief of staff to the Attorney General of the United States and the Department of Homeland Security, published an op-ed on Fox News’s website on Tuesday with a highly explosive idea the President can use to destroy this new gerrymander.

Mizelle noted that back in the earliest days of the Republic, that Virginia and Maryland gave a certain amount of land to the U>S government to create the District of Columbia. The Virginia part of the land, which included Arlington County and the city of Alexandria, remained part of D.C. until 1847 when it was returned to Old Dominion via retrocession.

The reason for the retrocession was to protect slavery in Virginia. Past presidents have considered this retrocession unconstitutional.

Mow, Mizelle proposes that Trump issue an executive order proclaiming slavery-motivated retrocession unconstitutional and return Arlington and Alexandria back to the nation’s capital.

So, what can the president and his allies do? Aside from motivating Virginia residents to oppose this power grab, Trump has another tool he can use to “fight back,” to borrow the supporters’ phrase. He could fight fire with fire and choose another type of re-Districting.

In 1790, Virginia and Maryland each gave five square miles of land to the Federal government to create a district for a new national capital. That Virginia land remained part of the District of Columbia until 1847, when it was retroceded to the commonwealth. The shameful reason for that retrocession was protecting slavery in Virginia when the district abolished it.

This became moot after the Union defeated the ancestors of this current effort to rig elections and resist the elected federal leadership in the Civil War. Other presidents, including William Howard Taft, have considered retrocession unconstitutional and wanted to reclaim the land for the district, but the Supreme Court has never been asked to weigh in.

President Trump could issue an executive order declaring the slavery-motivated retrocession unconstitutional, triggering certain legal action, and allowing the courts to finally weigh in on whether the county of Arlington and the city of Alexandria in fact properly belong to the District of Columbia.

Make no mistake: this move would prompt a fiery court battle. It could also require Virginia and the federal government to take action to ensure Arlington and Alexandria return to D.C.

But Mizelle says this form re-Districting is on sound legal footing:

This order would be on better legal footing than many of President Joe Biden’s most egregious orders, such as those imposing an eviction moratorium or forgiving billions in student debt with the stroke of an (auto) pen. As some of the deepest blue areas of the commonwealth – and the country – and loaded with federal government employees, residents of this region should feel right at home as part of D.C.

Trump has already gone several places on legal issues where no president has gone before, including on birthright citizenship. When it comes to this president, anything is possible.

In 2002, while visiting his children and standing in a driveway in El Monte, California, Ronald Da Silva, 29, was shot and killed by Luis Humberto Gonzales, a known gang member and illegal from Mexico with a prior criminal record. Gonzales had been deported in 1999 after burglary charges, but re-entered the U.S. illegally. He fled to Mexico immediately after the shooting.

Ultimately, he received an 11-year sentence for manslaughter. Following his release in 2019, he was deported.

Ronald’s mother, Angel Mom Agnes Gibboney, has been an outspoken critic of sanctuary policies and shared the tragic personal cost of what happens when politicians put optics and soundbites ahead of the safety of their citizens.

As California Gov. Gavin Newsom and state Democrats push a bill that would use taxpayer dollars to fund legal defense for immigrants facing deportation, Gibboney spoke with Fox News Digital and urged voters to “stop this insanity.”

AB 2600, introduced by Assemblymember Mia Bonta (D-Oakland) aims to expand state-funded legal representation for immigrants — including undocumented adults — facing deportation proceedings in immigration court.

Existing law, subject to available funding, provides legal counsel to immigrant youth in California.

The new bill would similarly “Provide legal counsel to every covered individual subject to certain immigration proceedings if that individual is not otherwise being provided counsel, as specified.”

“The bill would define a covered individual to include an individual who is not represented by counsel and who satisfies the indigency requirements established by the administrator and one or more of certain specified criteria relating to the connection of them or their immigration case to the State of California.”

Gibboney told Fox Digital she is “outraged” by the bill.

Per Fox Digital:

“My son was murdered,” she said. “Not one politician has ever contacted me. Not one politician said, ‘I’m so sorry that this previously deported criminal illegal alien shot and killed your son.’ Not one of them.”

Gibboney said that since losing her son in 2002, she sent Newsom “many, many emails,” and “never once did I get a response, not even from his office, much less from Newsom.”

Gibboney further noted the decline of California under Newsom’s leadership.

“We have the highest tax in the entire country, we have the highest cost of living, the most homeless,” she said, adding, “We are number one on everything, and nothing number one in good things, it’s always on the bad things.”

“We taxpayers keep paying more and more each year for taxes just so our government, actually Gavin Newsom, can hand it out and squander our tax dollars and give it to illegal aliens.”
