Trump Delivers 160+ UFO Files — Burchett Calls Out Deep State Slow-Walk as Congress Reacts
May 19, 2026

Congressional reporter Myles Morell contributed to this report

Congress members react to Trump releasing over 160 UFO files, highlighting Burchett's criticism of government delays.

Multiple members of Congress admitted “I don’t know” when pressed by The Gateway Pundit on Capitol Hill about the more than 160 never-before-seen UFO files the Pentagon released on May 8, 2026, under President Donald Trump’s direct order.

The historic declassification, the first tranche under the new Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters, made public military reports, photographs, videos, and astronaut accounts spanning the 1940s to recent years. The files detail rotating saucer-shaped craft over Cold War Europe, metallic elliptical objects hovering motionless, glowing orbs with impossible maneuvers, and anomalous lights near Apollo missions that continue to defy conventional explanation.

Rep. Tim Burchett, R-Tenn., one of Congress’s most vocal and consistent advocates for UAP transparency for years, pulled no punches:

“The deep state’s fighting the president on release…Some of our alphabet agencies are slow walking a lot of information. It’s about power. It’s about control,” Burchett, R-Tenn., told TGP in an exclusive interview.

Burchett, who has long pushed for full disclosure, including introducing the UAP Transparency Act and repeatedly grilling Pentagon officials in hearings, warned that fuller releases could force the government to “admit that they’ve been lying to us all these years” and may involve a “cover-up of zero energy.” He praised Trump for honoring a personal commitment on the issue.
The release includes phenomena strikingly similar to the legendary WWII “Foo Fighters.”

A vintage aircraft flying over a dark landscape with glowing lights in the distance during nighttime.

Rep. Pete Sessions, R-Texas, pointed exactly to those encounters: “These were big orange balls, orange balls that chased aircraft in WWII. You ought to look it up.”

Sessions added: “There are lots of reports of this happening, and nobody can explain it… It’s got to go somewhere.”

The files also expand on Apollo-era anomalies, including Buzz Aldrin’s report of a “sizable” object near the Moon and Apollo 17 astronauts describing bright tumbling particles lighting up the sky “like the Fourth of July.”

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., confirmed she participated in prior classified briefings and called the effort bipartisan, while stressing she had not yet reviewed the new batch.

“To be fair, I have to take a look at everything that was disclosed,” Ocasio-Cortez told TGP.

The New York Democrat cautioned that vague disclosure requests give agencies “discretion over what gets included and what doesn’t.”

“As a strategy,  the more specific we can get about the areas, departments, and things that we would like to see disclosed, the more precise [disclosure] is…the easier it is to get that information,” she continued. “If you just ask in general ‘give us information,’ then whoever is providing it has discretion over what gets included and what doesn’t.”

Rep. Sean Casten, D-Ill., rejected alien theories.

“These are not about aliens. This is not about foreign life,” Casten told TGP. “It’s a testament to science that we’ve identified so much else.”

Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., said her constituents are demanding answers: “Let’s have some transparency and get that information out.” She pledged to review the documents.

Rep. Mike Bost, R-Ill., noted the current administration has released more than predecessors but echoed the prevailing uncertainty, admitting he has no idea why the government has yet to disclose all the UFO files.

“I don’t know,” Bost told TGP. “But it sure feeds the conspiracy theories, doesn’t it?”
Rep. Dan Meuser, R-Pa., called for more answers on “unidentified flying things” while highlighting public interest in a circulating Neil Armstrong-related audio clip.
“Unidentified flying things out there that we need to get some answers on,” Meuser told TGP. “I know there are many people that care about this issue, so, I think we’ve got to do everything we can to be transparent, get the information out and do uh what we can do.”

“I have to say I heard that Neil Armstrong audio today. I don’t know if that’s…. if that’s real, but that’s something to see, something to consider,” he said.

Meuser questioned whether aliens have visited Earth, noting, “There’s one little problem … we [understand] our outer space out to almost one lightyear, and a lightyear is 6 trillion miles away. So it’s pretty difficult for someone to get here from 6 trillion miles away.”

In the past month, additional UAP activity has remained high.

A popular UFO tracking app documented thousands of mysterious underwater objects off U.S. coastlines, particularly in Florida and California. A bright light with rays over the Tampa Bay area sparked fresh debate just days ago.

A New Year’s Day 2026 UFO video over North America was also included in the May 8 release.

Some critics argue the high-profile UFO releases are timed to distract from demands for full Jeffrey Epstein files disclosure, a charge the administration denies.

The UFO files document objects exhibiting extreme acceleration, transmedium travel, and no visible propulsion — cases that have baffled military analysts for decades.

Additional tranches are scheduled for release every few weeks.

After generations of stonewalling and half-truths, President Trump has begun prying open the vault.

Whether the full record reveals breakthrough human technology, adversarial systems, or something far more extraordinary, the American people are finally getting a look. The real test is whether Congress and the permanent government are prepared for what comes next.

Vice President JD Vance delivers White House Press Briefing – May 19, 2026

Vice President JD Vance delivered an epic rebuke of the left-wing media while delivering a press briefing on Tuesday after a liberal reporter lectured him in what Vance described as a “speech masquerading as a question.”

The Independent’s White House Correspondent, Andrew Feinberg, pressed Vance with an incredibly long and nasty question that leveled accusations of insider trading against the President before finally getting to the point.

Vance briefly interrupted twice during the monologue, describing it as a “hell of a question,” then later urging, “Okay, what’s the question?”

He finally spit out the question after a tirade about Trump’s stock disclosures, public polling, and Vance’s comments while running for the Senate in 2022, asking, “The question, sir, is how can you and your administration argue to Americans that you’re cleaning up corruption, you’re preventing fraud, you’re fighting the sorts of things that harm people and people’s financial situations when the president seems to be talking up stocks that he owns, selling them and enriching himself?”

After Feinberg’s nearly 90-second-long speech, Vance went off, trolling him with a lesson on asking a question. “That was a doozy. Before I answer your question, I want to just observe there are different ways to ask a question,” Vance said, scolding the reporter for giving a speech instead of just asking a question.

The Vice President told the reporter, “You can just ask a question and try to get your answer, or you could do like a speech, where you say, you know, ‘Mr. Vice President, you know, you’re a terrible human being, and so is the President, so is the entire cabinet.’ And then I’m like, ‘What’s your question?’ And then your question is, ‘How dare you?’”

“Come on, man. Have a little bit of objectivity in the way that you ask these questions,” he added before answering the question and explaining that the President has independent investment managers, is not trading stocks himself, and still supports a ban on insider trading for public officials.

WATCH:

Feinberg: The President’s financial disclosures were released recently, and they showed a lot of stock trades in companies that he has talked up at events, official events at the White House, on his Truth Social account, sometimes even putting the stock ticker symbols in his posts and encouraging people to buy their stock. Americans, according to recent polling, are increasingly describing the president as corrupt and trading stocks—

Vance: This is a hell of a question.

Feinberg: Trading individual stocks is something that you have said that public officials should not be able to do when you ran for senate all those years ago, and yet the president, who arguably has access to more non-public information than your average senator, is not only buying and selling individual stocks, either through his, through his trust—

Vance: Okay, what’s the question?

Feinberg: The question is, the question, sir, is how can you and your administration argue to Americans that you’re cleaning up corruption, you’re preventing fraud, you’re fighting the sorts of things that harm people and people’s financial situations when the president seems to be talking up stocks that he owns, selling them and enriching himself?

Vance: Okay, so here, let me, let me, let me answer your question here. That was a doozy. Before I answer your question, I want to just observe there are different ways to ask a question, okay? You can just ask a question and try to get your answer, or you could do like a speech, where you say, you know, “Mr. Vice President, you know, you’re a terrible human being, and so is the President, so is the entire cabinet.” And then I’m like, “What’s your question?” And then your question is, “How dare you?” Come on, man. Have a little bit of objectivity in the way that you ask these questions, because there were a lot of things in that speech masquerading as a question that didn’t actually get asked, okay?

Number one, the president doesn’t sit at the Oval Office on his computer on his, like, Robinhood account, buying and selling stocks. That’s absurd. He has independent wealth advisors who manage his money. He is a wealthy person. He has had success in business. He’s not making these stock trades himself. And your question imputes that. It sort of, it doesn’t say it exactly, but a reasonable person listening to that question would assume the President is sitting around doing that. He’s not!

Second of all, you’re right, I’m a big fan of banning members of Congress from trading stocks. So is the President of the United States. And all of us believe that nobody should be taking proprietary information gained from public service and buying and selling stocks. We want to ban— we want to ban that. We want to ban that process, and I think the way to lead by example is banning that process, banning that approach, and making it illegal, which is exactly what the President has proposed doing.

MAJOR WIN FOR ELECTION TRANSPARENCY! Judge Forces RINO Raffensperger to Open His Infamous “Secret Election Bunker” to Georgia State Election Board and Poll Watchers on Primary Night

Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger testifies before the January 6 Select Committee on June 21, 2022

Fulton County Chief Judge Ural Glanville has signed a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) granting bipartisan members of the Georgia State Election Board and poll watchers full access to Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger’s secretive “election bunker,” the underground Emergency Operations Center where statewide vote totals from all 159 counties are aggregated and prepared for public release on this critical Primary Election Night.

The Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) comes just hours before Georgia’s critical May 19 primary elections and marks a massive win for election integrity advocates who have been demanding transparency from the very official tasked with running fair elections.

As The Gateway Pundit reported earlier today, Raffensperger’s office planned to tally and report Georgia’s 2026 primary results from an undisclosed, secure “emergency bunker” in metro Atlanta, an off-limits facility coordinated with the Georgia Emergency Management Agency that has been completely closed to candidates, the public, and even bipartisan members of the State Election Board (SEB).

Raffensperger’s team repeatedly denied requests for access, claiming no ballots are actually counted there just pre-certified county results are aggregated.

Critics called it a blatant violation of state transparency laws requiring public oversight of all election duties.

State Sen. Greg Dolezal, along with Republican candidates Chris Mora and Keli Gambrill, filed an emergency lawsuit against Raffensperger demanding the court force open the bunker.

Dolezal blasted the refusal as unacceptable, stating the room is where county results come in and questions about validity can be raised and SEB members had access in the past.

Just moments ago, Dolezal announced the huge victory:

We have secured a TRO from Chief Judge Glanville.

Bipartisan members of the State Election Board and poll watchers WILL be allowed inside Secretary Raffensperger’s “bunker” to observe tonight’s process.

Transparency wins. The people of Georgia deserve honest, observable elections.
