Many feel Kallas is not up to the job.

Of all the bloated bureaucracies installed in Brussels, the seemingly less effective official is the EU’s top diplomat, Kaja Kallas.

In yet another of her faux-pas, she announced that the heroic European diplomats were still in Kiev, while the American would have fled after the Russian warnings of massive drone and missile attacks programmed for the next days and weeks.

But no one’s surprise, the information was incorrect, prompting US officials to criticize her statement, calling it a ‘false reporting’.

The Telegraph reported:

“Kaja Kallas, the EU’s most senior diplomat, claimed the US was the only country to evacuate its embassy in response to Russian threats against the Ukrainian capital over the weekend, while praising Europeans’ courage for remaining in place.

But in an unusual intervention highlighting the tensions between Washington and Brussels, the US embassy in Ukraine stated: ‘There are no changes to our operations, and reports otherwise are false’.”

Moscow has issued multiple warnings urging diplomats and foreigners living in Kiev to leave the city before its planned strikes on ‘decision-making centers’ in Kyiv.

“Sergei Lavrov, Russia’s foreign minister, also urged the US to evacuate its envoys in a personal phone call to Marco Rubio, the US secretary of state. In the days after their discussion, unsubstantiated images of what appeared to be diplomatic staff leaving the US embassy in Kyiv emerged.

[…] On Thursday, Ms. Kallas told reporters before a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Cyprus: ‘What we heard from Ukraine yesterday was that all the embassies stayed, except one, so that also takes courage from those embassies, but yes, all the Europeans stayed, America left’.”

Not only the US, but also the Ukrainians denied Kallas’ statement, in a big embarrassment for the EU official.

A 26-year-old man from San Antonio, Texas, has been arrested after he posted a threat that he intends to bomb an upcoming Turning Point USA event and assassinate Erika Kirk, the widow of the late conservative icon Charlie Kirk.

Jacob Wenske was taken into custody early Thursday morning by San Antonio Police Department officers.

Wenske faces two third-degree felony charges of making a terroristic threat that causes public fear of serious bodily injury or public disruption.

According to the arrest warrant and charging documents obtained by local station KSAT, the threats were made in April in response to publicity for Turning Point USA’s Women’s Leadership Summit, scheduled for June 5–7, at the San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter on the River Walk.

In a reply to a post promoting the summit, Wenske wrote, “I know exactly where to bomb.”

Wenske wrote in a follow-up post in the same thread, “I can’t wait to be the valet for her escort.”

An email sent from an account registered to Wenske read, “Death to Erika Kirk and every single speaker there!! America will live on without those scum on this earth. Every Christian nationalist shall perish in the bombing that will take place at every single Turning Point rally and event.”

Kirk, who took over as CEO of TPUSA in the wake of her husband’s murder, is scheduled to speak at the summit.

The event is expected to draw more than 2,500 attendees.

Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson released a statement about the explosion:

Fox News reported:

At least four people were injured following an explosion and fire at a Dallas apartment building, authorities said.

The incident was reported around 1:20 p.m. at a two-story apartment complex in the city’s Oak Cliff neighborhood, Fox 4 reported. Nearly 100 firefighters responded to the scene.

Several victims were reported, the news outlet said. One person was taken to a hospital, but the extent of their injuries was not immediately clear.

Sources told FOX 4 that fire crews were en route to the location to investigate reports of a gas leak when the explosion happened.

People in the area reported hearing an explosion before the fire, but the exact cause of the blaze was unknown. In addition, windows on neighboring buildings appeared to be blown out and debris was scattered across the street.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent slammed the Washington Post for its “terribly written” article about a potential $250 bill with Trump’s face on it while sparring with CNN’s Kaitlan Collins during a White House press briefing on Thursday. 

The Washington Post report alleges that Trump administration officials are pressuring the Treasury’s Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) to design a $250 bill featuring Trump’s portrait.

“Legislation that would allow Trump to appear on a $250 bill was introduced in Congress last year to commemorate the nation’s 250th anniversary, but has languished,” the report notes. Still, the Washington Post asserts that U.S. Treasurer Brandon Beach and adviser Mike Brown are behind the push to put Trump’s face on a bill. The report even quotes a Treasury official, who says the BEP “is conducting appropriate planning and due diligence,” yet still suggests that the Trump Administration is attempting to flout the law.

“I didn’t really understand what the story was,” Bessent told reporters.

Earlier in the briefing, Bessent confirmed that the Treasury is preparing a draft of the banknote for production if Congress passes the bill.

This, of course, angered liberal reporters, who questioned whether it's a good idea or politically wise for Trump's face to be on a bill.

Kaitlan Collins asked Bessent if he thinks it's a good idea politically for Trump "to put his face on a $250 bill when people are struggling to afford gas and groceries." This was after Bessent had already told a different reporter asking the same question that it's the House and Senate's decision to make, not the President's.

Bessent, in response to Collins' biased question, went off, pulling up a copy of the Washington Post's report and slamming the story as "terribly written" and "terribly edited."

"Basically, what it says is that Treasury is following the law, and that we've created the bill, and that it's up to Congress, but that we follow the bill... I didn't really understand what the story was, but anyway," Bessent said, ignoring Collins' comment about the economy.

She continued pressing Bessent on whether Trump's appointees were pushing for the Treasury to start preparing the bill for printing, and Bessent responded, "We have to prepare in advance. You can't draw something up the day before."

Collins fired back, "Politically, do you think it's a good idea, though, when people are struggling to afford gas and groceries?" When Bessent tied the plans to the celebration of America's 250th anniversary, questioning whether we should hold a celebration, Collins defiantly told him, "Well, that's happening anyway, but putting the President's face on a $250 is a choice."

"But Kaitlan, it's not happening anyway. It's happening because it's being funded by private citizens, by the federal government, by state governments, by municipal governments to celebrate our country," he responded. "And I don't think that there's anything untoward about having the President of the United States, that the person who was president of the United States on the 250th anniversary bill."

Bessent then called on the next reporter, but Collins rudely continued attempting to ask questions even after he told her he was not giving her a follow-up. Still, she cut off other reporters to shout her question, and Bessent shut her down, saying, "I will not be taking any other questions, meaning I will not be taking any other questions."
