Bruce Springsteen turned his second-to-last show of the “Land of Hope and Dreams” American Tour into a full-blown political rally Wednesday night at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C., just blocks from the White House.

The 76-year-old rocker, who has filled nearly every stop on the tour with anti-Trump rhetoric since launching it in Minneapolis in March, saved his most fiery outburst for the nation’s capital.

The singer opened the concert with a pointed assault on President Donald Trump, calling the administration “corrupt and treasonous” before launching into “War (What Is It Good For?)” and “Born in the U.S.A.”

Springsteen later had a six-minute meltdown, complaining about his disdain for the president.

Speaking to the packed stadium, Springsteen told the crowd, “If you’re feeling helpless, if you’re feeling hopeless, if you’re feeling betrayed, if you’re feeling frustrated, if you’re feeling angry, I understand. That’s why we’re here tonight. We needed to come to Washington and feel your strength and your hope and your faith.”

Springstein continued, “So many of our elected leaders have failed us that this American tragedy can only be stopped by the American people, you. There is no one coming to save us. We’ve got to do it ourselves. So join us and let’s fight for the America that we love. Do you hear me, Washington? Do you hear me, Washington?! Are you with us, Washington?! Are you with us, Washington?! Let them hear you at the f-cking White House!”

Throughout the evening, Springsteen kept his liberal activism front and center.

He performed his new protest song “Streets of Minneapolis,” which attacks what he called Trump’s “federal thugs,” Stephen Miller, and Kristi Noem’s “dirty lies,” and led the crowd in repeated “ICE out!” chants.

The aging rocker also slammed the administration over the Iran conflict, cuts to aid programs, the $1.776 billion “anti-weaponization fund” that could benefit January 6 defendants, and efforts he claimed were whitewashing American history.

At the Minneapolis opener for his tour, Springsteen declared the America he has sung about for 50 years is “currently in the hands of a corrupt, incompetent, racist, reckless, and treasonous administration.”

Similar outbursts have followed in Austin, Boston, Los Angeles, and other cities.

The tour wraps Saturday in Philadelphia before Springsteen hosts a “Power to the People” music festival back in D.C. on October 3, just weeks before the midterm elections.

President Trump has fired back repeatedly.

Earlier in the tour, Trump posted on Truth Social, urging MAGA supporters to boycott Springsteen, calling the singer a “dried up prune” who has “suffered greatly from the work of a really bad plastic surgeon” and suffers from a “horrible and incurable case of Trump Derangement Syndrome.”

There is certainly some irony in a billionaire musician, whose net worth is estimated to be more than $1 billion, railing against “the richest men in America” while charging fans hundreds of dollars for tickets to hear political lectures alongside his songs.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent will deliver a press briefing at the White House this afternoon.

Bessent is the latest Trump Administration official filling in for White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt while she is on maternity leave.

Today’s press briefing comes as the Trump Administration focuses on its successes in busting fraudsters who are milking federal benefits for billions.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, Vance, Chairman of the White House Task Force to Eliminate Fraud, and Federal Trade Commission Chairman Andrew Ferguson, the Task Force Vice Chair, held a roundtable on Tuesday with over a dozen State Attorneys General to discuss the Trump Administration’s nationwide crackdown on federal benefits fraud.

Vance highlighted the task force’s success, telling reporters that his team has already identified tens of billions of dollars in fraudulent loans, reimbursement claims, and payments from federal benefits programs.

“We referred over $22 billion in fraudulent small business loans back to the Treasury for collection,” the Vice President said.

The Treasury Department is also involved in the ongoing investigation into far-left Code Pink's ties to Communist Cuba.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, the Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has already issued subpoenas to Code Pink cofounder Medea Benjamin and communist influencer Hasan Piker over their participation in the “Nuestra América Convoy” to Cuba.

The briefing is scheduled to begin at 2 pm ET.

Forty days after rising from the dead, Jesus Christ ascended into heaven in the sight of his disciples. Ten days later, he sent the Holy Spirit and empowered the apostles to preach repentance and new life.

Christians around the world celebrated these two events very recently, and on Ascension Sunday, the American people and their leaders rededicated the nation to God.

The convergence of these three events helps us understand our human dignity and the need to fight for it in these midterm elections.

“God so loved the world…” (Jn. 3:16). He so loved humanity, that he not only took it upon himself in the Incarnation (“he emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men” – Phil. 2:7), but brought it into glory in the Ascension and filled it with his Spirit at Pentecost.

On the night before he died, Jesus prayed to the Father, “give me the glory I had with you before the world began” (Jn. 17:5). If he already had that glory, what changed after the Resurrection and Ascension?

What changed was that now he had that glory in his human nature, and therefore made it possible for us to have it.

<Thus, Paul can write that God “raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms” (Eph. 2:6). It is the initial fulfillment of Jesus’ words in Revelation 3:21, “To the victor I will give the right to sit with me on my throne.”

There is only one human nature, shared by men and women of every time and place, of every condition and circumstance, and of every social status. It is shared by born and unborn, rich and poor, healthy and sick. That one human nature is united with God and taken into glory.

If the Church is to proclaim that the destiny of human beings is to be seated on the throne of God, we cannot ignore those same human beings when they are thrown in the garbage by atrocious acts like abortion, or when their dignity is assaulted in any number of other ways.

Otherwise, the proclamation of that hope is simply not credible to the waiting world.

And if these truths do not compel us to advance human dignity by our active participation in the effort to elect leaders and shape public policy, we likewise undercut our credibility.

The events of Scripture show us what we mean when we say that “human life is sacred.” It is about where this life comes from, to whom it belongs, and where it is meant to go. It is about that great trajectory to which Jesus referred when he said, “And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself” (Jn. 12:32) and again, “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am” (Jn. 14:3).

Jesus is “lifted up,” first on the cross, and then in glory.

Then he lifts us up by giving us rebirth in his Spirit.

These realities rescue us from meaninglessness, and therefore from purposelessness. We know who we are; we know whose we are; we know where we are going.

Believers in 2024, by the millions, realized that the elections were a choice not simply between candidates or parties, but between good and evil.

That is still the best way to describe our choice in the midterms. The revolution for truth that we all started in 2024 will either gain momentum or stall.

It’s time to elect public servants who choose to adhere to God’s truth, to reject evil, and to defend the dignity of human life from conception to natural death.
