A New Jersey family was trying to enjoy the great outdoors, but a rabid beaver had other plans.

KABC-TV posted footage to social media platform X on May 6 showing a man filming an altercation between the aforementioned family and their attacker — a crazed beaver.

The outlet reported that the incident occurred in Mahwah, New Jersey. An 8-year-old boy was injured as he tried to fish when the animal charged him from the water and bit his leg.

From the footage, three family members — and the pet dog — stepped in to help, with the mother wielding what appeared to be a hammer.

Per the outlet, the beaver had attacked other individuals that day.

The altercation ended when one of the family members tossed the beaver back in the water.

Globe Magazine gave an update Saturday, reporting that the beaver was confirmed to have rabies.

This was verified by animal control officers who caught it after the attack.

Whether you’re in a bad neighborhood or just walking a trail, it’s never a bad idea to carry a gun.

We often forget in our developed world where nature has largely been tamed, and animals domesticated, that danger still exists.

The New York Post reported that from 2018 to 2023, there were 1,604 animal-related deaths nationwide, with the most occurring in Texas, where 225 took place.

California came in second with 128; Florida was third with 112.

Some 31 percent of deaths came from animals that can sting, like wasps and hornets.

Dog attacks accounted for 26 percent.

Almost half of these deaths — 46.8 percent — occurred in the southern United States.

The report mentioned animal-related deaths have been increasing. In the 1980s, there were just 157 total.

The Centers for Disease Control said less than 10 people die per year of rabies.

Combine that with the report from the New York Post where beavers are not even mentioned as an animal to look out for, and your chances of being in the situation that unfolded earlier this month are low.

Even so, always be prepared.

President Donald Trump and Iranian leader Mojtala Khamenei

Iran is expected to agree to a 60-day memorandum of understanding that will ultimately end the war between the US and Iran if negotiated terms are met in the coming months.

It is now being reported that after Trump’s conference call with Gulf and Arab leaders on Saturday, which Trump announced was a success, Iran’s supreme leader has approved the deal, pending additional review from Iranian leadership.

Iran has reportedly also agreed in principle to dispose of highly enriched uranium.

Vice President JD Vance, Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff, and Special Peace Envoy Jared Kushner are currently involved in continued negotiations, CBS’s Jennifer Jacobs reports.

Per CBS’s Jennifer Jacobs:

BREAKING: US believes Iran’s supreme leader has approved the broad template for draft deal with Iran. Iran has agreed in principle that in exchange for the US lifting blockade, Iran will agree in principle to dispose of highly enriched uranium.

This draft has to make its way through the leadership system. But US wants them to commit to dispose of HMU and commit to resolve other nuclear issues. @VP, Witkoff, Kushner involved in negotiations. US trying to involve every middle eastern ally.

Fox’s Trey Yingst reported that while a senior administration official says the deal will not be signed today, progress has been made. The official confirmed that nuclear enrichment remains a red line, and “you don’t have a final deal” if Iran continues to enrich uranium.

Senior administration official says the Iran agreement will not be signed today, but indicated progress on a deal.

“If the Iranians make significant accommodations on the enrichment question then we will make significant accommodations on sanctions relief,” the official said.

On the nuclear issue, the current plan is to deal with the entire stockpile of enriched material.

“If you have a final deal where the Iranian are enriching, then you don’t have a final deal,” the official added.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, Trump announced the “largely negotiated” framework on Saturday.

Included in the plan is a 60-day ceasefire, the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, concessions from Iran on nuclear enrichment, and Israel ending its offensive in Lebanon.

This comes after Trump held talks with Arab mediators, “concerning the Islamic Republic of Iran, and all things related to a Memorandum of Understanding pertaining to PEACE,” he said in a statement.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. Explains How He and Kyle Busch Overcame Their ‘Challenging Existence’ in Heartfelt Message
May 24, 2026

Man with glasses and a beard standing outside a building with a blue fence, featuring a cloudy sky in the background.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. was one of numerous NASCAR luminaries paying tribute to fallen Cup Series champion Kyle Bush, telling how the two overcame a “challenging existence” to become the best of friends.

While the entire motorsports world was in shock and mourning, Earnhardt Jr.’s response was one of the most viral, given that their wreck in a 2008 race became the flashpoint for a rivalry between the two.

Busch, the younger of two brothers who won Cup championships, managed to take the trophy twice in 2015 and 2019. He had 63 wins at the top division in the sport and a record 234 wins among the top three NASCAR tiers, according to The Athletic.

He was racing for Richard Childress Racing this season; while he had a lingering illness in recent interviews and at races, nothing seemed terribly serious. In fact, on May 15, he won a race in NASCAR’s Truck Series at Dover Motor Speedway in Delaware.

However, earlier this week, he was admitted to the hospital with an illness that was described as serious. On Thursday, he succumbed, leaving behind a wife and two children.

Condolences poured in from around the auto racing world, but no tribute meant as much as that from Dale Earnhardt Jr., who was a contemporary, a friend, and — at one time — a bitter rival.

In a post on X, Dale Jr. noted the two had a tough beginning; although he didn’t specify why they had beef, he was clearly referencing the events leading up to and proceeding the 2008 spring race at Richmond International Raceway.

Near the end of that race, Busch spun Earnhardt Jr. as the two were racing for the lead. Dale hit the wall and Kyle ended up getting passed by Clint Bowyer for the win, according to USA Today, but it marked the peak of hostilities between the two.

Those didn’t last, as Dale Jr. said on social media on Thursday.

“Kyle and I had a really challenging existence for many years. But we luckily took the time to figure out our differences and that was something he instigated with a conversation in his bus around how we each managed our racing teams,” Dale Jr. said in his post.

“I was super eager for us to get on better terms. But it was he who made the effort for that to be possible. We did some media together also to laugh through some of the things we put each other through many years ago.

“Most recently we had even been discussing him running my Late Model at Wilkesboro this summer. He seemed extremely happy and we had planned to meet up next Thursday to get his seat to the shop. He laughed over the idea of his fans and JRM fans having to cheer in unison during that race,” he added.

“Kyle was one of the greatest drivers in NASCAR history. No one can deny that,” Dale Jr. said. “But he was also a father, a husband, brother, son, and a friend to many.”

He was hardly alone.

William Byron, who replaced Jeff Gordon at Hendrick Motorsports, said Busch “meant so much to a lot of people, not just myself. Kyle was the best mentor you could ever have. He was incredibly unselfish, cared about his people and his family deeply. And helped shaped my career to what it is. I’m heartbroken. Thinking and praying for the Busch family during this time.”

Denny Hamlin, Busch’s teammate at Joe Gibbs Racing for most of their respective carers, said he could not “comprehend this news.”

“We just need to think of his family during this time. We love you KB,” he added.

“There aren’t really words for today. I’ve raced against Kyle for a long time, and anyone who’s lined up next to him knows exactly what made him special, he gave you everything he had, every single lap, and he made all of us better for it,” said Ricky Stenhouse Jr.

“Rest easy, Rowdy,” he said, referencing Busch’s nickname. “The sport won’t be the same without you.”

A 56-year-old Houston estate planning attorney has been hit with felony bestiality charges after his own wife caught him in the act of sexually assaulting the family dog on home surveillance footage.

The man identified as Steven Swain has been charged with felony bestiality after authorities say his wife turned over surveillance footage allegedly showing him engaging in sexual acts with the family dog, named Shipley.

According to local reporting citing court documents, the wife installed cameras inside the home after becoming suspicious, later identifying both her husband and the dog in the footage before removing the animal from the home for its safety.

Swain reportedly turned himself in to face the charges. He posted a $7,500 bond and is due back in court this coming Tuesday. The dog is now safe with the wife, and the case remains active.

According to X user Michelle GCR:

According to court records filed in the 183rd District Court with Judge Lance Long, investigators were contacted by the Houston SPCA after a woman reported discovering disturbing surveillance footage recorded inside the family home near Providence Park in Houston.

The probable cause affidavit alleges the video showed Swain lying in bed exposing himself while repeatedly calling the small black dog, “Shipley,” over to him. The details that followed are genuinely sickening.

Court records state Swain’s wife told investigators she began reviewing home security footage after learning her husband had allegedly been bringing sex workers into the home.

She states she had the cameras installed recently because the home was under renovation and they had contractors working in the home.

She discovered the video while reviewing the footage. Authorities say she positively identified both Swain and the dog in the video. She then left him and took the dog with her and does not know his current location. She states she believes this may have happened more than once.

Huge orange glow turned Kiev night into day

‘Hazel’ targeted Kiev.

After over a dozen Ukrainian drones destroyed a college dorm killing 21 people (mostly students) in Russian-conquered Luhansk, President Vladimir Putin vowed retaliation.

Overnight, a massive combined drone-missile strike targeted Kiev, reportedly culminating in the third attack with hypersonic Oreshnik (Hazel) missiles.

Reuters reported:

“Explosions reverberated through the city just after 1 a.m. (2200 GMT Saturday), following a warning by Ukraine’s air force on its Telegram ‌channel that Russia might launch a hypersonic Oreshnik ballistic missile.

[…] Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said on Telegram that one person was believed to have been killed after a nine-story residential building in the capital’s central district of Shevchenko was hit. Emergency services were at the site extinguishing a blaze, the mayor said.

Klitschko said 21 people were injured, with 13 of those hospitalized, three of them in serious condition. Air raid sirens sounded again after sunrise on Sunday in Kyiv.”

Several Telegram are circulating videos showing ‘clusters of bright objects rapidly descending from the sky’ that are reportedly footage of Russia’s intermediate-range hypersonic Oreshnik system.

RT reported:

“The latest footage resembles videos that circulated in January, when Russia used the Oreshnik system in a strike on a Ukrainian aviation plant in Lviv that was repairing and servicing warplanes and producing long-range drones.

[…] Ukrainian authorities have also reported dozens of missile and drone impacts in Kiev and elsewhere across Ukraine, but the Russian Defense Ministry has yet to confirm the scale or targets of the reported combined strike.”
