DHS Chief Markwayne Mullin on Tuesday testified before the Senate on his department’s 2027 budget.

Tuesday’s hearing took place as GOP Senators hold up the reconciliation bill that funds ICE and border patrol over Trump’s weaponization fund.

Democrat Senator Chris Murphy opened the hearing by trashing the Department of Homeland Security.

“On 96 occasions, DHS was caught violating the law, was ordered to obey the law, and 96 times ignored the judge in one state. That is stunning, and it should be unacceptable to anyone on this committee who claims to care about the rule of law,” Chris Murphy said.

Murphy also asked Mullin if he would enforce court orders.

Mullin crushed Murphy:

“The outlandish claims you made there is just flat wrong. You start saying we’re breaking the law, and you really start looking at it, and we’re enforcing laws that Congress did pass. That’s reckless.”

“For you to throw my 275,000 employees underneath DHS, with a broad stroke like that, is reckless and irresponsible in your part!”

“We’re doing the job that Congress gave us the authority to do, and our men and women out there every single day is enforcing laws. If you don’t like the laws, you can change them!”

“When you throw out reckless terms, and you start referring to our agents as being ‘dangerous, unconstitutional, and lawless,’ That’s why our agents’ death threats are up by 8,000%!”

“Your political theater, that’s what it causes. When you start looking at assaults on our officers, they’re up by 1,300%. Senator Murphy, is that what you want?”

Democrat Senator Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) — the same guy The Gateway Pundit previously reported on for flying to El Salvador last year for a humiliating photo op, where he was caught sipping margaritas with a MS-13 gang member and deported criminal (Bukele’s team even posted the evidence and dubbed it “Margaritagate”) — tried to lecture Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Tuesday about Cuba’s status as a state sponsor of terrorism.

During a Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing on the State Department budget, Van Hollen trotted out the tired Biden-era talking points: the previous administration did a “thorough review with the intelligence community” and found no evidence Cuba was engaged in ongoing state-sponsored terrorism.

He demanded to know if Rubio and the Trump administration had found “new evidence” to justify reinstating the designation in the first week of the administration — and referencing statements in a January 26th executive order about connections to Hezbollah and Hamas.

Van Hollen: “And in that regard, Mr. Secretary, I have a question for you regarding the designation of Cuba as a state sponsor of terrorism. On the very first week, at least, of this administration, you reinstated— the administration reinstated that.

And in a recent January 26th EO, you made statements suggesting connections to Hezbollah and Hamas. The previous administration did a thorough review with the intelligence community and concluded that there was no evidence that Cuba was engaged in ongoing state sponsor of terrorism. Did you find new evidence to support that conclusion?”

Rubio wasn’t playing along with the Democrat script.

Rubio: “Well, first of all, let me just say that was— that’s your question, but you made this long statement of which I disagree with most of it. We won’t have time to address every point that you made, so let’s stick to Cuba specific because that’s the question that you asked. Cuba has sponsored terrorism and supported groups.

For example, virtually every left-wing radical violent terrorist group in the Western Hemisphere has at some point relied on support from Cuba. The ELN, the FARC, the FARC dissidents including them have been involved there. We also know, for example, that Cuba continues to host a pretty substantial collection— intelligence sites on behalf of the Chinese and the Russians. But you look at the region and you look at all of these leftist Marxist terrorist organizations, all of them.”

Van Hollen, clearly not getting the softball answer he wanted, tried to move on.

Van Hollen: “Mr. Secretary, if I can move on, I noticed you did not answer my question.”

Classic Van Hollen. He didn’t want the receipts. He wanted to protect the communist regime in Havana while pretending the Trump administration is making it all up.

This is the same Democrat who rushed to El Salvador to coddle an alleged MS-13 gang member and human smuggler — the same politician who got mocked worldwide for the margarita photos and then claimed it was all a setup. Now he’s out here running defense for Cuba, a regime that has spent decades arming, training, and sheltering Marxist terrorists who murder, kidnap, and traffic drugs across Latin America.

Rubio — whose parents immigrated to the U.S. from Cuba in 1956, who actually understands the threat 90 miles from American shores — didn’t flinch.

He laid out the cold, hard history: Cuba’s fingerprints are all over the FARC and ELN’s reign of terror in Colombia. The same Cuba that hosts Russian and Chinese intelligence facilities aimed squarely at the United States.

The same Cuba that the Biden administration tried to whitewash while Americans paid the price for open borders and weak foreign policy.

Over the weekend, as part of the Black Crowes’ “Southern Hospitality Tour” along with Whiskey Myers, Crowes lead singer Chris Robinson tried to shut down the patriotic Tampa crowd and instead watched a steady stream of concertgoers leave mid-set rather than listen to his woke nonsense.

During the show,  according to TMZ, a screen showed the band’s crow mascot as Uncle Sam, which sparked  “USA” chants from the crowd.

Robinson seemed miffed by the patriotic outburst and snidely lectured the crowd, saying,  “Thanks for the geography lesson.”

As the chants continued, he added, “I don’t know what you have to be so proud of right now.”

Robinson was met with a torrent of boos, and a noticeable wave of fans began streaming toward the exits.

He doubled down and lectured people who spent their hard-earned money to enjoy music, not a woke lecture from a millionaire celebrity, and told them, “Some of us are not afraid. And we most assuredly are not f***ing ignorant.”

One man, who claimed to be at the show, shared his experience on Facebook saying, “The Black Crowes were excellent right up until the crowd chanted USA USA after seeing a Black Crowe character wearing an Uncle Sam Red White & Blue Top Hat on the Jumbotron. Chris Robinson replied……Thanks for the geography lesson….I don’t know what your so proud of right now……”

“The crowd Booed and Booed…..he called us ignorant MF’s and stated ‘Boo all you want you ignorant MF’s……Some of us have class……and we’re not afraid.’”

“I just wanted to hear good music……”

Others who said they were at the show responded to his post and shared their perspectives.

“We left too. I’m so pissed we wasted money on 2 of their shirts.”

“We were there, and walked out with the numerous other people. Went home and placed the Koozie I bought in the trash can. We were there for Whiskey Myers, they were just an add on for us.”

“Never seen so many people walk out of a concert, music is supposed to bring us together, I will never support the Crows again.”

Someone on X, who shared that the Tampa show was his 12th Crowes’ concert, is done with the woke band and referenced the legendary sibling rivalry, which has been violent in the past, between him and fellow bandmate and brother Rich.

“So I’m at the black crowes concert in Tampa tonight… Chris Robinson basically just told Patriots to kiss his a**! Not kidding.”

“This was my 12th Crowes concert since 87, I just dropped them like a hot iron.”

Their real system costs – backup, grid overhauls, distribution nightmares – make them the most expensive energy sources on the planet. They aren’t “displacing” fossil fuels at scale. They’re expensive add-ons.

The EU’s own data and global stats confirm it: The “renewable revolution” is a subsidy-sucking mirage. Emissions are still rising. The world is not on the low-carbon path these models assumed. RCP8.5 wasn’t killed by green virtue – it was always detached from how humans actually use energy.

Yet the EU’s regulatory edifice stands untouched

Every impact assessment, every adaptation plan, every scare-mongering communication citing this garbage remains official gospel. Why? Because admitting the fraud would mean repealing the Green Deal, admitting they wrecked livelihoods for nothing, and facing the rage of voters already freezing in the dark and paying through the nose.

Think about it: Trillions wasted. Energy poverty exploding across Europe. Industries fleeing to places that laugh at Net Zero. Farmers blockading roads because they can’t compete with insane regulations rooted in debunked models. And the “experts” who peddled this? Still cashing checks, still demanding more power, still smearing skeptics as “deniers.” Senior EU officials are so unhinged they’re assaulting scientists who dare speak the truth. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz was asked to give medical advice to people who suffer from Trump Derangement Syndrome on Tuesday.

The doctor did not have a cure. “Treating stupid is really hard, and it becomes a real problem,” he said.

Oz took the podium at a White House press briefing this afternoon, subbing in for White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, who is currently on maternity leave.

Various top administration officials, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Vice President JD Vance, and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, have stepped in as one-time Press Secretary.

Lindell TV correspondent Cara Castronuova asked Dr. Oz how to treat crazed, Trump-obsessed liberals on Tuesday, and he was stumped.

“I am concerned about folks who have focused their entire life energy on disliking the president,” he said.

“It’s disheartening to see people lost in that way, but treating stupid is really hard.”
