WATCH: Bernie-Backed Troy Jackson Was Once a Pro-Life REPUBLICAN

Following the withdrawal of scandal-ridden Graham Platner from the Maine Senatorial Race, the DSA has coalesced behind a familiar figure backed by Bernie Sanders and organized labor: former Maine Senate President Troy Jackson, as previously reported by The Gateway Pundit

His selection raises questions about how the modern left’s priorities have shifted and how economic populism has become a tool powerful enough to neutralize political positions that were once incompatible with the current progressive movement.

This is because Jackson’s political career did not begin on the left. He previously identified as a Republican and Independent, while developing a legislative record unrecognizable to those now backing his Senate bid.

In both 2003 and 2010, Jackson earned perfect ratings from Maine Right to Life. And on June 6, 2011, Maine legislative records depict him supporting a fetal personhood proposal titled “An Act Regarding Offenses Against an Unborn Child,” a proposal which sought to impose legal penalties for injuries or death inflicted on a fetus.

After the bill failed, the Maine Senate Democrats released a statement expressing concerns that legislation of such nature could be used to “punish women who had abortions.”

The statement has been republished on the Maine Senate Democrats’ site, alongside a 2026 press release detailing the “100% Planned Parenthood Maine Action Fund” reproductive rights score held by Senator Craig Hickman. Troy Jackson himself has touted such a score from 2018 to 2024, a stark contrast from his previous voting record in the state.

Jackson also opposed a 2009 “Act to End Discrimination in Civil Marriage and Affirm Religious Freedom,” which he has since described as the “worst vote” of his career.

People’s political opinions evolve, but focusing solely on such changes misses the broader political story, a story reflective of today’s progressives.

One consistency throughout Jackson’s career has been his self-proclaimed alignment with working-class voters, first gaining prominence during protests over the negative impacts of Canadian lumber imports on Maine workers. His political identity has often been defined by unions, wages, manufacturing, and other economic issues as opposed to culture-war debates.

A generation ago, issues such as abortion rights and same-sex marriage were viewed as litmus tests of ideological commitment. It would be expected, and has been evidenced, that Jackson’s earlier positions would have complicated his standing with progressive activists.

In Jackson’s 2014 primary against Emily Cain for the state’s 2nd Congressional District, national progressive organizations campaigned against him on these exact grounds. This included NARAL Pro-Choice America, which endorsed Cain over Jackson, and EMILY’s List, which launched a six-figure television ad campaign against Jackson specifically over abortion.

In the current political environment, however, Jackson’s economic populism appears to outweigh this, insulating him from the same criticism as concerns around social issues are being treated as secondary.

It is no wonder that, considering the economic discontent of the working-class and their subsequent Republican lean throughout Maine, the Democrats’ need to strengthen their standing with blue-collar and rural voters is causing a shift toward candidates that, to them, reflect the interests of that constituency, despite the miserable failure of their past attempts to do so through Graham Platner.

The progressive left may well be facing a reordering of priorities as they look to build lasting coalitions. Those lasting coalitions may begin to treat economic identity as the more salient organizing principle, thereby justifying the abandonment of ideological consistency when it is politically lucrative.

This is not unprecedented. American political parties have repeatedly shifted priorities to assemble new electoral coalitions.

Franklin Roosevelt’s New Deal coalition united northern labor unions, social conservative Southern Democrats, urban immigrants, and progressive intellectuals, groups that often disagreed on major issues. However, these differences receded in favor of supporting a given economic program.

Jackson’s nomination indicates a similar occurrence as his economic message aligns with an increasingly influential faction of the Democrat Party.

Whether that approach is successful in the context of the current Maine Senate race or creates new internal tensions remains to be seen.

Trump aide Stephen Miller appeared on the Sean Hannity show tonight and said that the Democrats are seeing drops in the polls because they have been exposed as radical communists.

If you have seen any interviews with the DSA people, you know what Miller is talking about.

Miller points out that the Democrats have always had the media to protect them, but the American people see through that now.

He also runs through some of their insane policy positions like emptying prisons and putting law abiding people at risk.

Transcript via Overton News:

MILLER: “The biggest advantage the Democrats always had, of course, is the uniform and total support of the crazy leftist media in this country.”

“They’ve always had the support of the big broadcast networks, the print newspapers, a large portion of…cable too.”

“The American people are learning, and you see it reflected in the polls.”

“Democrats approval has never been lower.”

“And in large part because President Trump has exposed them for who they are.”

“They’re not liberal, they’re not just left-wing, they are radical left, crazy communists!”

“They are opening up government-run grocery stores to undercut mom-and-pop stores.”

“They are talking about abolishing the PRISON and JAIL system in this country, so that everybody lives at the mercy of the predators in the street.”

“No borders, no ICE, no police, no law enforcement.”

“Taxes through the roof. Regulate companies out of existence, regulate energy out of existence, grind the economy into dust.”

“You would be lucky if you have a windmill and that’s about it, Sean.”

Watch the video below:

The radical leftists of the DSA are good in one way. They are being completely honest about their intentions to destroy America as we know it.

These people should never be allowed anywhere near the levers of power in this country.

Victor Davis Hanson Goes Off on Zohran Mamdani: ‘New York is Not YOUR City’ (VIDEO)

Conservative historian and scholar Victor Davis Hanson recently went off on New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, reminding him that New York City doesn’t belong to him.

Hanson used the ridiculous claims by Mamdani that Israeli leader Netanyahu should be arrested the next time he comes to the city and went off further from there.

He notes that Mamdani has no plans to arrest Iranian leaders who killed thousands of their own people earlier this year. In fact, Mamdani’s team is trying to meet with them.

Partial transcript:

Mamdani with that socialist smile and that oozy, unctuous personality, I thought he wouldn’t be so stupid to admit that he’s an absolute antisemite and hates Israel. Because any person who listened to his video and read what he wrote, the first question is…

OK, you have a policy that anybody that you think in your infinite wisdom committed genocide can’t come into your city – he said you can’t come in to our city.

It’s not your city. You’re an interloper. You had about 11 percent of the resident population vote for you, and it’s not your city, I’m sorry.

You may think it is, you’re the mayor for a while but it’s not your city.

And then, the question everybody has is, though I know our listeners are saying, well of course, when the Palestinians come in, because they aided and abetted Hamas in many cases, you’re going to arrest them, given October 7th.

You’re going to arrest the Iranian delegation because they were responsible, that government, for killing 40 to 50 thousand of their own, well after Gaza. Oh, wait a minute, you’re not going to do that because members of your staff were secretly going to meet with them.

Watch the whole thing below:

Hanson is spot on about all of this.

Mamdani’s threat to arrest Netanyahu was a virtue signal to the ‘Free Palestine!’ mob which is basically his voter base.

He never had the authority to actually carry out an arrest and he knows it. And Hanson is right. It’s not HIS city.

BOMBSHELL: Investigative Reporter Claims Dozens of American Journalists Are on China’s Payroll

Xi Jinping’s anti-corruption purges have swept through China’s financial sector, removing senior banking officials while increasing uncertainty for investors and exposing systemic weaknesses in state-directed lending. Investigative reporter Natalie Winters, who is part of the Bannon War Room, just dropped an explosive report on Substack claiming that dozens of American journalists are on China’s payroll.

According to Winters, these journalists have taken trips to China, funded by the CCP, and receive kickbacks for favorable reporting on China.

If her reporting is accurate, this would explain quite a few things, wouldn’t it?

From Substack:

REVEALED: Here Are the Mainstream Journalists on China’s Payroll

Foreign-agent filings reveal that operatives working for a Chinese Communist Party-linked influence organization planned free trips for American journalists based on the potential for “favorable coverage” and sought to “effectively disseminate positive messages” about Beijing.

But the filings did not plainly identify the reporters who received the access.

By cross-referencing the filings with archived newsletters, annual reports and contemporaneous accounts, this investigation has uncovered the names of prominent American journalists who participated in China trips organized or funded by the China-United States Exchange Foundation, or CUSEF.

The roster includes current and former journalists from The New York Times, CNN, MSNBC, The Washington Post, NPR, the Associated Press, Vox, The Atlantic, the Los Angeles Times, the Chicago Tribune and other major American news organizations.

In several cases, the trips were followed by columns and reports defending Chinese government policies, attacking President Trump’s confrontation with Beijing or presenting the decline of American manufacturing as unavoidable.

Winters listed the names on Twitter/X:

What should happen to these people?

Losing their jobs would be a start.

On MSNOW’s Morning Joe show today, host Joe Scarborough lost his mind going off on DNC chair Ken Martin over the party’s financial troubles.

According to recent reports, the DNC actually put up the building that houses their headquarters in order to gain a new line of credit.

Scarborough and his co-hosts are beside themselves over this, and are even calling for Martin to be replaced.

Transcript via NewsBusters:

MIKA BRZEZINSKI: So we move now from things making a lot of money to things losing a lot of money. At seven minutes past the top of the hour, there is new reporting this morning on the dire financial situation for the Democratic National Committee, now less than one hundred days until the midterm elections.

The New York Times reports the Democratic Party is so short on cash that leaders are asking vendors not to send bills until after the midterms.

JOE SCARBOROUGH: That’s not good.

MIKA: The paper spoke to three people briefed on the move, who called it a bookkeeping maneuver. The paper highlights a cash disparity between the two parties, noting that President Trump controls a $400 million super PAC, the Republican National Committee is sitting on nearly $130 million, while the DNC is $2 million in debt.

The news outlet NOTUS also has new reporting on the DNC putting its physical headquarters up for collateral last year in order to obtain a $15 million line of credit to help it invest in off-year elections.

SCARBOROUGH: This is just so pathetic. This is so pathetic…

SCARBOROUGH: First of all, John Heilemann, I’m going to you because I know you saw Tropic Thunder. Who knew the DNC would pick Les Grossman as the head of their party — he is Tom Cruise in Tropic Thunder.

And not only that — I’m sorry — with the president’s approval ratings at an all-time low, with the ballot test at an all-time high for Democrats, with Democratic candidates raising money — John Ossoff, I mean good lord, they’re raising money left and right — but they still are at this huge disadvantage because Ken Martin is — Get this. When Democrats should be doing better than ever, Ken Martin is mortgaging the DNC to be able to pay bills. Let’s say that again. You have a DNC head that is mortgaging the building so he can take out a loan.

Here’s the video:

They seem kind of panicked, don’t they?
