Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham is refusing to back down.

After an ESPN profile in which the 29-year-old star said she wants to “protect young girls in a locker room, or young girls in sport who shouldn’t have to go against biological men,” the radical left predictably lost its mind. Accusations of “hate” and “transphobia” poured in.

Speaking to reporters before Wednesday’s game against the Connecticut Sun, Cunningham made it crystal clear she is not walking anything back.

“I said what I said. I think it’s kind of common sense,” she declared. “I think I’ll always believe in that. It’s really important to protect children. And that’s little girls, who are also involved in that category. I stand by what I said and I’ll always believe that.”

She added: “I’m not a very political person, but I do have beliefs. I have morals, and I’ll always stand on those.”

Cunningham pointed to Title IX as the reason women’s sports even exist. Without sex-based categories rooted in biological reality, she argued, the entire purpose of women’s athletics collapses.

In the original ESPN interview that triggered the left’s rage, Cunningham rejected the smear that she “hates” transgender people.

“I got a lot of negative feedback about me hating trans. And I’m like, ‘I never once said that,’” she said. “I think that I am here to extend love. But I also think with that love is truth, being honest. And I want to protect young girls in a locker room, or young girls in sport who shouldn’t have to go against biological men.”

The radical left’s hysterical reaction only proved her point. Instead of engaging with the obvious biological advantages males hold over females in competitive sports, strength, speed, bone density, lung capacity, activists and their media allies immediately reached for the “bigot” label.

This is the same crowd that spent years pretending Lia Thomas was a fair competitor and that female athletes should simply “be kind.”

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt also came to Cunningham’s defense during Thursday’s press briefing.

“Men should not be playing in women’s sports. It’s completely ludicrous that anyone could support that,” Leavitt said. “It’s even more ludicrous that you do have Sophie Cunningham, a female athlete herself, very accomplished in her own right, coming forth and speaking that truth… The backlash she is receiving from Democrats and left-wing figures across the country is astonishing. They are clearly very out of touch with the American public on this issue, which again is an 80/20 issue. It’s common sense.”

Cunningham became a favorite among WNBA fans after defending teammate Caitlin Clark during a brutal June 2025 game against the Connecticut Sun. After Clark was poked in the eye, shoved, and knocked to the floor, Cunningham later grabbed Jacy Sheldon and pulled her down during a hard foul.

As The Gateway Pundit reported at the time, Cunningham quickly earned a reputation as Clark’s “enforcer.”

Now she is displaying that same courage off the court.

But Cunningham’s appeal extends far beyond basketball and politics.

She is also an amazing singer.

Hollywood’s latest TDS patient, Reacher star Alan Ritchson, went full unhinged on a podcast this week, spewing vulgar accusations against President Donald Trump while demanding the Epstein files, files that only saw daylight because of Trump.

The unhinged rant came during an appearance on Josh Horowitz’s “Happy Sad Confused” podcast as the actor raged about the Epstein files.

Ritchson, the same self-proclaimed Christian who previously labeled Trump a “rapist and a con man” and attacked Christians who support him, could barely contain himself.

“People, I think, are a little bit afraid of me because they’re like, he’s a loose cannon. And I’m not. I’m just saying the sh*t that everybody should say if they give a sh*t about humanity,” Ritchson said.

“Everybody else should feel like I feel. The world is on fire… Like all mad about the way things are and the abuses that are happening.”

Ritchson, who claims to be a devout Christian, then launched into a full meltdown over the Epstein files.

“The Epstein files, the f**king Epstein files. Goddamn it. Where are they?” Ritchson ranted. “It’s a f**king law, b*tch. Show it, you f**king pedophiles.”

“I shouldn’t say ‘f**k’ because I’m a Christian, and people are gonna go, like, ‘How can you say “f**k” when you’re a Christian?’ Because that is something that should make you want to say ‘f**k.’ You know—sorry, God. I’m sweating now… This is my f**king politics, dude.”

Ritchson continued, insisting he would “railroad these f**kers” and get the files out “in two seconds.”

“I would get those Epstein files out in two seconds. Yeah, dude, two seconds. F**king move out of the way. Like, get out of there. I don’t care what room they’re in, b*tch, move. Like, give me the f**king manila envelope. I will get you the Epstein files.”

Ritchson’s unhinged rant quickly spiraled from demanding transparency into a reckless personal attack against President Trump.

“Don’t you want to see what’s in there so that we can hold people accountable? These fking rapists, we’re just cool with it? That bch has the keys to the nuclear— he’s like, like, all up into 13-year-olds. Like, dude, what? Go to jail. Go to jail.”

No criminal charge has been filed against President Trump in connection with Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes. Trump has repeatedly denied wrongdoing and has said he was unaware of Epstein’s sexual abuse and trafficking operation.

An anonymous woman filed a civil lawsuit in 2016 accusing Trump and Epstein of assaulting her when she was 13. The lawsuit was voluntarily withdrawn before the allegations were tested in court, and Trump denied the claims.

President Trump signed the Epstein Files Transparency Act into law in November 2025. The Department of Justice has already released roughly 3.5 million pages of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein under the law. Yet Ritchson is still screaming that the files are being hidden by “pedophiles” and that Trump somehow needs to “go to jail.”

The same Hollywood that spent years ignoring Epstein’s connections to their own industry and Democrat power brokers is now clutching pearls and inventing new accusations against the man who actually signed the bill forcing the files into the open.

As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, Ritchson attacked Christians who support Trump in 2024 while branding Trump a “rapist” and a “con man.”

“Trump is a rapist and a con man, and yet the entire Christian church seems to treat him like he’s their poster child, and it’s unreal,” Ritchson said at the time.

“Christians today have become the most vitriolic tribe,” he added while lecturing millions of Christian Trump supporters.

The Gateway Pundit also reported in March on Ritchson’s violent confrontation with a Tennessee neighbor in front of children. Police ultimately determined that the actor acted in self-defense and closed the investigation without filing charges.

Ritchson is free to demand transparency concerning the Epstein files. Millions of Americans agree that every lawfully releasable document should be disclosed and every criminal should be held accountable.

But demanding transparency does not give a Hollywood actor license to publicly accuse the President of raping children without presenting evidence. Ritchson may want to lawyer up.

A woman who shouted abuse at Nigel Farage from her car immediately crashed into the vehicle in front after taking her eyes off the road.

The incident took place while the Reform UK leader was campaigning in Clacton, Essex, and was captured on video by his campaign team.

As she drove past, the woman wound down her window and shouted “wanker” at Farage before continuing down the road.

Seconds later, she failed to notice traffic had stopped at a red light and rear-ended the car in front of her.

Farage watched the incident unfold before quipping: “She won’t be doing that again in a hurry.”

The Reform UK leader later described the collision as “instant karma.”

The incident comes amid heightened security concerns surrounding Farage and Reform UK.

Farage is currently campaigning in the Clacton by-election, which was triggered after he resigned his parliamentary seat to seek a fresh mandate from voters.

He has said he receives hundreds of threats each month from left-wing activist, while the party has increased security following the murder of former Conservative minister and Reform UK spokeswoman Ann Widdecombe.

A 28-year-old man is accused of killing Widdecombe after striking her 21 times on the head with a hammer.

He is alleged to have driven from his home in Rotherham, entered the bungalow through the front door, remained inside for around two minutes and then left with Widdecombe’s wallet.

Widdecombe was discovered the following morning by her gardener, lying on the kitchen floor of her home. Emergency services pronounced her dead at the scene.

Watching the news and conservative social media feeds from Italy, one sees that migrant crime has exploded across the country. Even global tourism destinations such as Rome have become unsafe at night, while robberies and other violent or sex-related crimes are occurring at an alarming rate, even during the day.

For two thousand years, Rome projected power across three continents, building an empire on the discipline of its legions and the authority of its law. Today, Italy is being overrun with invaders, and an Italian citizen who fights back against a criminal in their own home or shop faces a mandatory criminal investigation and often a prison sentence longer than the one handed to the person who attacked them.

Gun ownership is highly restricted, castle laws are virtually nonexistent, and even the police are discouraged from defending themselves or using force to apprehend noncompliant criminals.

Under the Italian Code of Criminal Procedure, any use of lethal or serious force against an intruder or attacker automatically triggers an “iscrizione nel registro degli indagate,” a formal entry into the register of criminal suspects. Prosecutors typically open the case as manslaughter or “eccesso colposo di legittima difesa” (culpable excess in self-defense), pending forensic and ballistic review.

A 2019 reform, Law no. 36/2019, was intended to strengthen self-defense rights, establishing that proportionality between defense and offense is presumed inside one’s home or business. In practice, judges continue to draw a hard line: force used against an active, ongoing threat is defensible; force used against a suspect who is already fleeing is not, and courts have consistently classified the latter as excessive or even as an act of vengeance.

American laws are generally much more favorable toward self-defense and the defense of one’s home. California Penal Code section 198.5, a “castle doctrine” statute, gives homeowners a legal presumption of reasonable fear once an intruder has forcibly entered, shifting the burden onto prosecutors to disprove that fear.

Italian law, even after 2019, still requires the defender to establish that danger was actual and the response proportionate, case by case. Separately, 38 U.S. states have “stand your ground” laws removing any duty to retreat anywhere a person is lawfully present. Italy has no equivalent.

The clearest recent example is Cinzia Dal Pino, a 65-year-old businesswoman from Viareggio who, on September 8, 2024, struck and killed Noureddine Mezgui, a Moroccan bag-thief, with her SUV. Prosecutors sought a life sentence. In June 2026, the Assize Court of Lucca convicted her of murder and sentenced her to 18 years.

Mario Roggero, a jeweler in Grinzane Cavour, shot and killed two robbers after a 2021 armed raid on his shop. Because the men were fleeing when he fired, courts rejected his self-defense claim. Italy’s Supreme Court finalized his 14-year, 9-month sentence in July 2026.

The pattern predates both cases by decades. In 2006, Antonio Monella killed 19-year-old Albanian Ervis Hoxha, who was stealing his Mercedes. Monella was convicted of voluntary homicide but was later pardoned.

That same year, gas station attendant Graziano Stacchio was investigated after killing a robber, although the case was ultimately dismissed.

In 2011, Piacenza entrepreneur Angelo Peveri shot and wounded a Romanian thief. He was convicted and sentenced to four and a half years in prison.

In another 2006 case, Ermes Mattielli wounded two Roma men who were stealing copper from his property. He was convicted and ordered to pay damages.

Part of why many of these cases involve improvised weapons rather than a handgun carried for the purpose is that Italy treats gun ownership as a conditional privilege. The core law is the Consolidated Public Security Law (TULPS) plus Law no. 110/1975. Licensing requires a clean background check and psychological evaluation, with the Questura completing review in 30–45 days.

The United States imposes no federal licensing requirement to own a firearm. The Second Amendment makes firearm ownership a constitutional right, not a state-granted privilege. About one-quarter of states require some form of permit, and in most of those, the requirement applies only to handguns. For example, New York requires a license to purchase a handgun but not a rifle or shotgun. Only a handful of states, including Hawaii, Illinois, Massachusetts, and New Jersey, extend permit requirements to long guns. No state imposes anything resembling Italy’s mandatory psychological evaluation or its requirement to demonstrate a specific threat before being allowed to carry a firearm for self-defense.

To put the difference in gun ownership into perspective, Italy has an estimated 8.6 million civilian firearms in circulation, owned by only about 1.2 million licensed gun owners. By comparison, estimates place the number of civilian-owned firearms in the United States at nearly 500 million as of 2026.

Police face related but legally distinct restrictions on the use of force, even in cases of self-defense. In Italy, force is governed by Article 53 of the penal code, not civilian self-defense law. On the fleeing-suspect limit, Italian and American law converge: the 1985 ruling in Tennessee v. Garner bars deadly force against an unarmed suspect who’s merely running.

The systems diverge after an investigation begins. American officers can raise qualified immunity. Italian officers had no equivalent, until this year. In February 2026, Italy issued a security decree creating “Modello 45-bis,” a preliminary log that keeps a person out of the formal suspect registry when a justification appears evident from the outset, applicable to officer or citizen alike.

One of the new law’s first uses became a flashpoint. On July 19, 2026, Abderrahim Fakir, a 42-year-old man born in Morocco, died in Bologna’s Pilastro district after being restrained on the ground by police on via Svevo. He held no Italian citizenship, but he was a legal resident, in the country awaiting a routine renewal of his residence permit.

Residents had reported him to police as agitated, and he reportedly had some kind of confrontation with the driver of a car entering a nearby garage. Italian media did not specify the nature of the confrontation. When officers called emergency medical services, they told dispatchers they believed they were dealing with a man experiencing a psychiatric crisis.

Video obtained by the family’s lawyer shows Fakir restrained face-down, with his wrists and ankles bound by zip ties. His face was marked by what the lawyer described as pepper-spray residue from very close range. Red Cross responders performed chest compressions and used a defibrillator on him before he died.

Bologna prosecutors opened a manslaughter inquiry but placed the two officers and four paramedics involved in the Modello 45-bis register rather than the standard suspect registry pending review. The decision was not a finding of innocence and did not close the case, but it triggered large protests in Bologna. Demonstrators demanded the measure’s repeal, and police responded with tear gas and water cannons. International coverage drew comparisons to the 2020 death of George Floyd in the United States.

The Interior Ministry has separately circulated new internal guidelines instructing officers to de-escalate, call for backup, and use force only as a last resort when handling agitated or noncompliant individuals. The written, centrally mandated sequence has no direct equivalent in American policing, where use-of-force standards are set by individual states and police departments.
