Russian drones struck Kyiv throughout September 23, killing two people and injuring 45, according to Klitschko, the city’s mayor. Strikes hit gas stations, warehouses, a business center, and the area around Kyiv’s central railway station, where the Shayba railway market caught fire. The Darnytsia pharmaceutical plant was also struck. Ukraine’s Ministry of Digital Transformation confirmed that about 100,000 households in Kyiv and the surrounding region lost stable internet service.

In Kyiv Oblast, drones damaged private houses, warehouses, an administrative building, and infrastructure in the Bucha, Fastiv, Obukhiv, and Vyshhorod districts, injuring three men in Fastiv district. Two people were injured in Zhytomyr Oblast.

In Sumy Oblast, the regional administration reported on the morning of September 23 that Russian forces carried out more than 40 attacks on 15 settlements over the previous day, injuring a woman. Around 7 a.m., strikes hit four locations in Sumy city’s Kovpakivskyi district, damaging homes, an educational facility, railway infrastructure, and the gas network. Over the full day of September 23, the administration recorded nearly 60 strikes on 22 settlements, with 10 people injured, including a 17-year-old boy.

Russian forces hit Kharkiv and eight settlements in Kharkiv Oblast with seven guided bombs and 128 drones, killing a man in Kharkiv and injuring 14 people, including an 11-year-old boy in Izium. Strikes damaged apartment buildings, private homes, car dealerships, power lines, and gas stations.

In Donetsk Oblast, regional military administration head Vadym Filashkin reported four killed and 10 injured on September 22, with deaths in Kramatorsk, Sloviansk, Stepanivka, and Spassko-Mykhailivka. On September 23, Russian attacks killed eight people and injured 19. Five were killed and six injured in Oleksandrivka, two killed and 10 injured in Kramatorsk, and one killed and three injured in Sloviansk. Filashkin said 103 civilian structures were damaged, including 81 residential buildings.

Russian forces attacked the Nikopol and Synelnykove districts of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast more than 10 times with glide bombs, artillery, and drones, injuring a man and damaging infrastructure, private houses, and farm machinery.

Zaporizhzhia Oblast head Ivan Fedorov reported 734 strikes on 52 settlements over the previous day, including 21 airstrikes, killing one person and injuring three. Late on September 22, a strike set a shopping center in Zaporizhzhia’s Pivdennyi district on fire. The blaze covered 6,000 square meters and injured two men. The strike came one day after Russian drones hit the city’s Intrade shopping center.

In Kherson Oblast, Russian attacks on Kherson city and surrounding settlements killed two people and injured eight, damaging four apartment buildings, six private houses, a gas station, and cars.

Russian drones struck port and civilian infrastructure in Odesa Oblast overnight, hitting a cargo ship flying the flag of Antigua and Barbuda and killing its captain, a Ukrainian citizen. Warehouses storing medicines, household goods, and food were hit twice.

Ukraine’s Defense Ministry reported 1,560 Russian personnel losses over the past day, along with three tanks, 13 armored fighting vehicles, 32 artillery systems, and 1,426 drones. Ukrainian losses were not disclosed.

At the UN General Assembly in New York on September 23, EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas and Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha delivered a joint statement backed by 51 countries, calling on Russia to agree to a full ceasefire and enter meaningful negotiations.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told the General Assembly that Russia is recruiting citizens of 47 countries to fight in its war and urged their governments to keep them out of it. “Ukrainians did not choose this war. We choose not to die,” Zelensky said.

After meeting Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on the sidelines of the General Assembly, Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Putin has been invited to the G20 summit in Miami in December. “We hope that’s an invitation he’ll accept,” Rubio told reporters. The Kremlin said it is considering the invitation.

The same day, a Russian Mi-8 military helicopter flying from Kaliningrad violated Polish airspace north of Braniewo at 11:08 a.m. local time, penetrating about 300 meters for 42 seconds, Poland’s Operational Command said. Poland scrambled fighter jets and placed ground-based air defenses on alert.

Jake Tapper BEGS Ambassador Mike Waltz to Ask President Trump to “Let CNN Back in the Pool” For Air Force One (VIDEO)

Jake Tapper BEGS Ambassador Mike Waltz to Ask President Trump to “Let CNN Back in the Pool” For Air Force One (VIDEO)
September 27, 2026

This is hilarious.

CNN’s Jake Tapper on Sunday begged Ambassador Mike Waltz to asked President Trump to let CNN back in the pool for Air Force One.

On Saturday, CNN was blocked from boarding Air Force One as President Trump traveled to Tennessee.

The Gateway Pundit, Red State Media and Real America’s Voice traveled with President Trump and covered his attendance at the University of Tennessee vs University of Texas football game.

This comes following a legal showdown after President Trump banned CNN, Politico and MSNOW from the White House.

A federal judge ordered the White House restore White House access to CNN and the other outlets.

However, President Trump blocked CNN from the Air Force One press pool.

Jake Tapper begged Ambassador Waltz to help CNN get back in the game.

“I would ask if you could convey to President Trump to let CNN back in the pool. It was not okay when President Obama tried to freeze Fox out, and I don’t think we want a world where presidents get to decide who covers them,” Tapper said.

Mike Waltz brushed him off.

“I hear you, but I think we need fair, objective, and well-sourced reporting. I’ve been the victim of a lot of this nonsense,” Waltz said.

“President Trump specifically said that there’s something wrong with a country where people are allowed to report things that are purposely negative. That’s his language, not mine,” Tapper said.

President Trump attends the Presidents Cup in Chicago, IL

President Trump attended the Presidents Cup golf tournament in Chicago on Sunday and made another incredible entrance, flying over the course on Air Force One and speaking to a fired-up crowd of supporters from the golf world.

Trump is serving as the honorary chairman of the tournament at Medinah Country Club for the second time.

While arriving in Chicago, Air Force One was seen screaming over the golf course as spectators gathered and filmed.

WATCH:

Trump spoke briefly to reporters at Chicago O’Hare upon landing on Air Force One. “You’ll be seeing the best players, the best golfers anywhere in the world. It’s going to be great. I think for those of you that don’t play, you’ll get it,” he said. “It’s tremendous power, touch, everything else. But these are the greatest players in the world.”

The President also commented on reports that five were arrested on Sunday in a potentially Iran-linked terror plot at the UK’s Royal Air Force Fairford base, where US bombers and troops are currently stationed.

During the Presidents Cup, Trump delivered brief remarks before golfers teed off. Fans could be heard cheering and chanting “USA” for the President as he was introduced by PGA Tour Commissioner Brian Rolapp.

“You know the fake news media will say I got a very bad reception, but we got a good reception,” Trump said before joking that he doesn’t “have the courage” to make a speech. “These people want to see golf; they don’t want to hear speeches,” he joked.

“I’ll only say this: Our country is doing great, better than ever before, and now I want to watch the greatest players in the world go out and play, and play your hearts out. It’s going to be a very interesting day of golf.”

After Trump spoke, the crowd began chanting “Four more years,” which Trump acknowledged by pumping his fist, driving the crowd wild.

WATCH:

The President was later seen greeting and shaking hands with the US team as the golfers arrived on their bus.

Trump also performed a flyover on Air Force One on Saturday at the University of Tennessee’s Neyland Stadium before he attended the Tennessee vs. Texas college football game.

Lavrov greets Wadephul – Screengrab Social Media/X

The meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in NYC was branded a wasted opportunity.

Historically, Russia and Germany have clashed constantly, having fought no less than three major wars.

In the Seven Years’ War between Russia and Prussia in the 18th century, Russian armies occupied East Prussia, won at Kunersdorf, and briefly entered Berlin.

Then Germans did marginally better in the bloody World War I, and then, of course, we had World War II.

Despite the Ribbentrop-Molotov pact, Nazi Germany invaded the Soviet Union during Operation Barbarossa.

The Eastern Front became the war’s deadliest theater, and the Red Army eventually took Berlin – and Germany was divided in two for decades.

Today, the two countries have almost nonexistent diplomatic relations, with no high-level diplomatic meeting in more than 4 years.

Yesterday (26), on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met his German counterpart Johann Wadephul.

It was the first contact between the two foreign ministries since January 2022, when Lavrov met Annalena Baerbock, just before the onset of the war in Ukraine.

The talks lasted only 20 minutes, with German diplomats demanding no media access, banning audio recording and publication of opening remarks.

Politico reported:

“’It was an intense conversation’, Wadephul told German public television ZDF after the meeting, which lasted about 30 minutes. ‘Of course, we did not reach agreement on key points. It was important to me to make it clear that Germany does not accept incidents such as the drone attack in Leipzig, and that this is an escalation that is unacceptable. And I clearly warned Russia not to continue down this path. We can defend ourselves; we can fight back. And that’s exactly what we’ll do’.”

Watch: Waidephul’s view.

“’Wadephul called on the Russian Federation to abandon its dangerous path of escalation toward Germany, Europe, and NATO’, a German official said after the meeting. The official was granted anonymity to discuss the meeting.

The minister also ‘condemned Russia’s ongoing and increasingly targeted aggression against the Ukrainian civilian population’ and highlighted that, ‘every month, tens of thousands of Russian soldiers die in a hopeless war of attrition, while the Russian economy continues to collapse’, the official said.”

To no one’s surprise, the Russians had a very different take on those 20 minutes.

The meeting took place at Germany’s request, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told reporters, and minister Lavrov had some choice words about it.

Watch: Lavrov’s take on the meeting.

Pravda reported:

“Russian foreign minister mocks the German foreign minister:

Lavrov says Wadephul came and read from a note the standard talking points Germany has publicly declared for years. ‘I learned nothing new from this’.

Funnily, Lavrov says Wadephul acted in an arrogant way: ‘Now I lowered myself to talking to you, now give me concessions’.”
