Preferences for right-wing views are surging in politics and in the news, too.

The surging popularity of the populists in Reform UK is not an isolated event: the British preference for right-wing views is also leading the pack when it comes to news channels.

But the establishment is fighting tooth and nail to hide this simple truth from the population.

UK media regulator Ofcom is presently under fire, accused of covering up data showing that right-wing outlet GB News is more trusted by its viewers than the BBC.

The Telegraph reported:

“The watchdog’s latest news consumption survey found that GB News viewers score the channel more highly for trustworthiness than viewers of the BBC, Sky News, ITV and Channel 4 score those channels.

GB News was also ranked by its viewers above all other British broadcasters for the range of viewpoints on offer and scored first equal with Sky for impartiality.”

This year, the regulator omitted the figures from the press release summarizing its main findings, published last week.

It only released the data online following a request from GB News.

“The oversight has prompted accusations that Ofcom deliberately sought to suppress the true scale of GB News’s popularity among viewers.

A GB News spokesman said: ‘These figures prove why GB News is Britain’s undisputed number one news channel’.”

GB News reported:

“The People’s Channel last month marked a full year as Britain’s number one news channel.

Official audience data released in August found GB News had beaten the BBC News Channel and Sky News in July. Barb data for July showed GB News secured 81,600 average views (1.44 per cent audience share).

The figure was 11 per cent higher than the BBC News Channel’s 73,500 average views (1.29 per cent audience share).

Meanwhile, Sky News was a distant third on 68,900 (1.21 per cent audience share), trailing 18.4 per cent behind GB News.”

A new report released by House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan confirms Special Counsel Jack Smith coordinated with the Biden DOJ to spy on their political opposition.

Republicans released documents that revealed investigators improperly subpoenaed phone records that belonged to 44 GOP lawmakers during Jack Smith’s Arctic Frost investigation.

Jack Smith’s team also secured gag orders to prevent the GOP lawmakers from learning that Biden’s DOJ obtained their phone records.

House Republicans also released transcripts from five members of Jack Smith’s team.

Transcript from J.P. Cooney, a member of Jack Smith’s team, once again confirm coordination between the special counsel and the Biden White House.

“During your time at the Special Counsel’s Office, did you ever interact with the White House?” the GOP investigator asked JP Cooney.

“I did have some interactions with a staff member in the White House Counsel’s Office,” JP Cooney replied.

Press release from the GOP-led House Judiciary Committee:

During the Biden-Harris DOJ’s investigation of the 2020 election, codenamed Arctic Frost, and the subsequent Special Counsel investigation, investigators unconstitutionally subpoenaed phone records for over a dozen Republican Members of Congress and obtained gag orders to prevent the Members from knowing that the Biden-Harris Administration had obtained these records. Because the subpoenas and gag orders were obtained ex parte—meaning only the prosecutors presented to the grand jury and judge—the Members had no meaningful opportunity to challenge the Biden-Harris Administration’s actions.

The evidence available to the Committee shows that Special Counsel Smith’s team barely considered the constitutional protections surrounding this material—and to the extent that it did, it concluded that its subpoenas might be unconstitutional. Yet, Special Counsel Smith’s team forged ahead, issued the subpoenas, and at one point, violated the DOJ’s own procedures to review the content of private text messages between 44 Members of Congress and Executive Branch officials.

Arctic Frost investigators and Smith’s team paid no attention to the Constitution’s “absolute” bar on compelled disclosure of documents related to Members’ legislative acts. Special Counsel Smith and his prosecutors admitted that the gag order deprived Members of the chance to appear in court to assert their constitutional rights under the Speech or Debate Clause. As Special Counsel Smith admitted privately to Attorney General Merrick Garland, “members . . . likely have a valid Speech or Debate privilege immunizing them from compelled testimony.” Yet he, with Attorney General Garland’s blessing, issued subpoenas compelling the production of Members’ protected legislative records.

At best, these prosecutors ignored key legislative protections enshrined in the Constitution to guarantee that Members of Congress may freely deliberate on the questions of public policy. At worst—which seems likely in context with the other abuses of Special Counsel Smith’s office—these prosecutors weaponized their law-enforcement authority to violate a key constitutional provision to gather reams of information about their Administration’s political adversaries.

The abuses uncovered demand legislative reforms to prevent a future Jack Smith from similarly violating the Constitution. On July 15, 2026, the Committee passed H.R. 9098, the Congressional Records Protection Act, introduced by Rep. Mike Kelly (R-PA). The bill seeks to protect the separation of powers enshrined in the United States Constitution and end the weaponized surveillance of Members of Congress. The Committee will continue to pursue the truth about this critical set of events in our nation’s history.

In the city of Greenfield, in central Massachusetts, a lesbian bar is causing outrage from their patrons by easing mask-wearing mandates. In 2026.

This bar not only requires customers to wear masks, they require N95 masks, at all times. The bar is struggling financially, so the owner decided to make one night a week, Saturday night, mask optional.

Unhinged and angry customers are now accusing the bar of trying to kill people.

The August 31 Instagram post from Last Ditch Bar and Arts Venue, a lesbian bar in Greenfield, was upbeat, teasing a new DJ lineup and a volunteer meetup. But partway down the rainbow-hued post labeled “UPDATES!” was a sentence that would splinter the queer community in this small Pioneer Valley city and beyond.

“It is with love we inform our immunocompromised disabled divas we will be opening Saturday nights as mask optional,” wrote Last Ditch.

Previously, patrons were required to wear a well-fitted KN-95 mask “or better” at all times.

The new policy was not received with love.

“Just say you’re being complicit in a mass disabling event and get it over with,” wrote one commenter.

“people like you kill disabled people in the name of your own leisure and convenience,” posted another.

“I hope your venue gets firebombed for robbing my fellow immunocompromised people of their Saturday plans just to scrape extra revenue from ablists [sic],” wrote a third.

When the bar apologized for the new mask policy on social media, the apology was attacked for not catering to the visually impaired:

Instead of defusing the situation, the apology seemed to make things worse. The bar had erred: it posted an Instagram card without providing alt-text for the visually impaired. This set off a fresh round of accusations of ableism.

“This is not an accessible post,” wrote one user. “It indicates the lack of care or interest in Disability intersectionality.”

The long NYC effort to get Weinstein to pay for his alleged crimes comes to an end.

The convoluted legal drama involving the NYC trials of Harvey Weinstein has finally ended as he is sentenced to 15 years in prison after 2 retrials that ended in hung juries.

Quick explanation: the disgraced Hollywood mogul was convicted in California in 2022 for three sex crimes, committed in 2013, against an unidentified Italian model and actress: forcible rape, Forcible oral copulation, and sexual penetration by a foreign object.

For the crimes in this California trial, he was sentenced to 16 years in prison, a conviction that he is serving now, although he is to be resentenced in the future.

But in New York, things have been even more complex.

His original 2020 NYC conviction was overturned by New York’s highest court in 2024 due to improper admission of testimony from uncharged accusers.

So, Weinstein had a 2025 retrial, in which prosecutors charged him with crimes against three women: the 2025 jury convicted him of one criminal sexual act count (involving Mimi Haley), acquitted him on another (involving Kaja Sokola), but was deadlocked on the Jessica Mann rape charge — leading to a mistrial.

Weinstein had a second retrial on the Jessica Mann charge in 2026, and a mistrial was declared again.

Prosecutors declined to try him again, in part because Jessica Mann refused to testify for a third time and face a grueling cross-examination.

So, now, all that’s left if for the decaying mogul to be sentenced for his conviction for a criminal sexual act count involving Mimi Haley from the 2025 retrial.

“Decrepit Harvey Weinstein will finally learn his fate in a Manhattan courtroom Wednesday — as the disgraced Hollywood mogul faces up to 25 years in prison for sexually assaulting a former TV production worker. Weinstein, 74, was convicted in June 2025 of first-degree criminal sex act for attacking former ‘Project Runway’ production assistant Miriam ‘Mimi’ Haley inside his SoHo apartment in 2006.

[…] The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office is arguing that Weinstein should be locked up for 20 years on the conviction, citing the ‘significant harms’ the ex-Miramax boss caused to Haley. The once powerful producer’s long-delayed sentencing comes nearly a decade after an avalanche of sexual misconduct allegations ended his career and kick-started the #MeToo movement.

[…] Haley testified in two of Weinstein’s trials where she emotionally detailed how she was brutally raped by him inside his apartment. ‘I was trying to get him off of me. I was trying to push him away from me. I was trying to get him to stop kissing me and grabbing me’, Haley told jurors at Weinstein’s retrial in 2025. ‘The unthinkable was happening … I didn’t know when it was ending’.”

While the trials and retrials have been going on, Weinstein has been incarcerated at Rikers Island, battling health concerns while serving his conviction and awaiting his LA resentence.

“Harvey Weinstein, the disgraced movie mogul, was sentenced to 15 years in prison Wednesday morning for a criminal sexual assault conviction from 2025.

Weinstein, 74, was found guilty of committing a sexual act against former Project Runway production assistant Miriam Haley at his Manhattan apartment in 2006.

Haley and Weinstein both spoke in a court in Lower Manhattan during Wednesday’s sentencing. Haley talked about the devastating impact the assault and subsequent trial has had on her life. Weinstein, for his part, expressed remorse for what happened to Haley, and offered an apology to people he has hurt. He went on to say he was innocent.”

Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie is apparently considering another run for president in 2028. Why?

Christie was considered to be something of a firebrand Republican back in the early days of his governorship, mainly because he did not back down from the liberal media. Now he is a part of it, serving as a contributor at ABC News.

Who exactly does he think would vote for him for president? It makes no sense.

Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) on Tuesday said he’s considering a third presidential run in 2028 as the Republican Party faces a bleak midterm outlook.

Christie, a onetime Trump ally who ran against him for the GOP nomination in 2024, questioned whether the party will decide it needs to change its approach or “the dominant wing” of the party, “if we do a lot of losing six weeks from today.”

“So, am I looking at it? Look, anybody who comes up here, anybody who comes up here and has ever run for president and not one and told you they’re not looking at it again is lying. …,” he said at the Granite State Summit on Responsible Gaming, per footage shared by WMUR 9’s Adam Sexton.

He added, “Once you go through the thought process of convincing yourself that you can be president, and then the next step that you should be president, that doesn’t leave your brain.”

“So, the way I look at this is, if I’m going to go back home to my wife and say, ‘I know you may not believe this, but third time is the charm,’ like, I better have a real theory,” the former governor continued. “And what she has said to me is, ‘Chris, I want to see the path.’”

Newsflash for Christie: There is no path.

The Republican Party has changed, the country has changed, the electorate has changed.

It is impossible to see Christie even making it through a Republican presidential primary at this point. What is he thinking?
