A man was shot and killed in a parking lot near the Santa Monica pier just after midnight on Monday morning.

The gunman is still at large.

KABC reported:

An investigation is underway after a man was shot and killed near the Santa Monica Pier overnight, police said.

The incident happened at a parking lot right next to the pier around 12:30 a.m. Monday, according to the Santa Monica Police Department. Video from the scene showed several evidence markers on the ground near the victim’s body as officers investigated.

Details about what led up to the deadly gunfire were not available, but it happened following a busy weekend for the city as people flocked to the beach to escape the heat and others gathered for a World Cup watch party.

Meanwhile, the victim was only described as an adult man. The suspect remains at large.

This is the second shooting at the Santa Monica Pier in the past few months.

A 18-year-old was arrested earlier this year for a shooting at the pier that left two wounded.

President Trump on Monday warned that Iran will pay “many times over” after multiple US troops were killed in action this past week.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, Iranian airstrikes in Jordan left several US servicemembers injured, U.S. Central Command announced on Saturday. Another US service member was also killed in action in Iraq on Saturday.

CENTCOM further announced that US personnel found unidentified remains presumed to be from the missing US service member from an attack on a Jordanian base.

The Pentagon identified the two soldiers confirmed killed in action on Monday as Pvt. Isabella Gonzales, 19, of Carrollton, Texas, and First Lt. Tyler James Feehan, 25, of Ewa Beach, Hawaii.

President Trump previously responded to the death of the US troops, describing it as “a very sad thing,” adding, “We hate to see it happen. They were in service of our country.”

On Monday, Trump announced that he’s given a directive to War Secretary Pete Hegseth and Joint Chiefs Chairman Dan Kaine to make Iran pay “many times over.”

A foreign criminal who repeatedly raped a 10-year-old girl and tried to buy her silence was days from deportation when Minnesota Democrats, led by Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, stepped in to protect him.

Now, Minnesota’s flagship paper, The Minnesota Star Tribune, is facing backlash after columnist Rochelle Olson’s article “Cheers to Gov. Tim Walz,” praised the governor for his decision to defend the pardon.

According to the Department of Homeland Security, Laotian illegal alien pedophile Tou Lue Vang repeatedly raped a 10-year-old girl in Minnesota in 2004 and was issued a deportation order.

Vang even blamed the child and said it’s a “cultural thing to marry and have sex with girls as young as 12.”

Vang served ZERO prison time after pleading guilty.

However, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and the Democrat-controlled Board of Pardons  Tim Walz pardoned Vang, which shielded him from deportation.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio, however, put an end to the madness and announced that Vang’s legal status was revoked and “as a result, federal agents took him into custody, and as of today, he has been removed from the United States.”

”Because of our action, this foreign criminal will never pose a threat to any American ever again. Americans must never be forced by their elected leaders to live alongside foreign sex criminals who have no right to begin with to reside in our country. This administration will always stand with the American people and defend them from violent criminals.”

Olson, while failing to note that the rape victim was a MINOR and was assaulted several times over a two-year period, wrote, “The governor refused to back down from his vote to pardon a Hmong man convicted of felony sexual assault in 2006. It’s significant that Tou Lue Vang needed only two of three votes from the state Board of Pardons, but he received unanimous support.”

Olson then raged about the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol protestors, comparing their actions to a foreigner raping a child.

“Vang’s actions 20 years ago were awful, but so were the violent protests at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, and those folks received presidential pardons,” Olson wrote.

House Majority Whip Tom Emmer, (R-MN) responded on X, “The Minnesota Star Tribune is cheering on Tim Walz protecting an illegal alien monster who raped a 10 year old girl. No one should read this depraved rag.”

The California DMV’s AB 60 Warning Just Gave Trump a Roadmap

Why did a citizenship-verification question from the Secretary of State’s Office make the DMV worry about drivers who cannot prove lawful presence?

Official Motor Voter minutes connect citizenship verification, AB 60 drivers, the DMV and the Secretary of State’s voter-registration system.

For years, voters who question whether noncitizens are slipping onto California’s voter rolls have been told the system prevents it.

Then the California Secretary of State’s Office published minutes from an official Motor Voter Task Force meeting.

The April 22, 2025 meeting included representatives from the Secretary of State’s Office and the Department of Motor Vehicles—the two agencies responsible for moving DMV information into California’s voter-registration system.

A citizenship-verification question from the Secretary of State’s Office produced a startling response from the DMV:

“The DMV shared that it would be risky for the security of AB60 drivers of California to implement citizenship confirmations on Real ID’s.” 

That statement should set off alarms.

What Is AB 60?

AB 60 is the California driver’s-license program for people who cannot provide proof of legal presence in the United States.

The DMV’s own website says exactly that.

AB 60 licenses are not proof of citizenship, and an AB 60 license holder cannot legally vote unless that person later becomes a United States citizen.

So why did the DMV raise the “security” of AB 60 drivers when the Secretary of State’s Office asked about citizenship verification?

The minutes do not explain.

They do, however, confirm that the DMV was monitoring the federal SAVE Act, that the task force wanted the legislation discussed again, and that California REAL ID cards do not indicate citizenship.

Then came the AB 60 warning.

This Was a Motor Voter Meeting

This was not a general discussion about driver safety or immigration policy.

During the first quarter of 2025 alone, the DMV delivered more than 2.26 million records to the Secretary of State’s Office. The minutes also identified delayed records and several system irregularities.

The Secretary of State administers VoteCal, the official statewide database containing voter-registration information from all 58 counties. California regulations specifically charge the Secretary of State with maintaining the system used to determine voter eligibility.

The DMV supplies the records.

The Secretary of State maintains the voter rolls.

Those were the offices involved in this exchange.

Then the Secretary of State Refused the Federal Request

The Secretary of State’s AB 60 discussion becomes more significant when viewed beside the ongoing dispute with the Trump administration.

The United States Department of Justice requested California’s statewide voter-registration list. Secretary of State Shirley Weber refused to produce the requested records, and the Justice Department sued her and the State of California on September 25, 2025.

A federal district court later dismissed the lawsuit, but the Justice Department appealed. DOJ filed its opening appellate brief in March 2026 and its reply brief in April 2026.

That means the fight over access to California’s voter rolls is not merely political rhetoric. It is an active federal legal dispute.

The Secretary of State’s position is that sensitive voter information must be protected.

Fine. Protect it.

But privacy does not prevent a secure federal review. Social Security numbers, driver’s-license numbers and private addresses can be protected while citizenship and eligibility safeguards are independently tested.

The Trump Administration Should Use the Minutes

The Trump administration should stop treating this only as a broad fight over voter-roll access.

Use the April 22 minutes as an investigative roadmap.

The Justice Department should seek the meeting recording, original notes, draft minutes and communications between the Secretary of State’s Office and the DMV concerning the SAVE Act, citizenship indicators and AB 60 drivers.

Federal investigators should also demand the DMV’s technical rules for excluding AB 60 applicants from Motor Voter, the database fields used to identify them, audit logs showing whether AB 60 records were ever transmitted to VoteCal, and exception reports involving customers whose license or immigration status later changed.

Most importantly, the representatives involved should be required to answer one question under oath:

“What specific security risk did citizenship confirmation create for AB 60 drivers?”<

Follow the State’s Own Paper Trail

The minutes do not prove that every AB 60 driver was registered to vote.

They do not establish how many noncitizens may be registered or whether any of them cast ballots.

But the minutes provide a legitimate investigative lead from the agencies running the system.

The citizenship question came from the Secretary of State’s Office.

The warning about AB 60 drivers came from the DMV.

The Secretary of State maintains the voter rolls.

And the Secretary of State refused to provide those rolls to the federal government.

The Trump administration now knows where to look.

Follow the meeting minutes.

Follow the DMV data.

Follow the AB 60 exclusion rules.

Then ask the question the Secretary of State and DMV have not answered:

“Why would citizenship verification threaten drivers who cannot prove lawful presence—and what would a complete review of California’s voter rolls reveal?”

Democrats in Maine have selected former state Senate President Troy Jackson as their nominee for the Senate seat currently held by Republican Susan Collins.

Jackson supports abolishing ICE, Medicare for All, and expanding the Supreme Court.

The new candidate will replace Graham Platner, who withdrew from the race amid sexual misconduct allegations.

Jackson secured overwhelming support in county delegate elections over the weekend, winning majorities in nearly every county.

This gives him a commanding lead heading into the Democratic nominating convention scheduled for July 25.

Several rivals, including Secretary of State Shenna Bellows and former state CDC director Nirav Shah, have already dropped out and endorsed Jackson.

Jackson, a logger from Allagash, previously served as Senate President from 2018 to 2024.

He ran unsuccessfully for governor and has long been aligned with progressive causes, including labor unions.

An ethics complaint was filed against him in 2023 regarding a 2019 home purchase in Augusta using an FHA loan.

Jackson allegedly signed documents stating the Augusta property would be his primary residence but continued to claim Allagash as his residence for legislative and other purposes.

The politician claimed he “never really read” the mortgage documents and relied on his broker.

The Maine Ethics Commission reviewed complaints but did not pursue further action.

Additionally, the group Progressive Victory has warned that Jackson once threw a bottle at a female colleague, describing the incident as an “open secret” in Maine politics.

In a now-deleted post, covered by Town Hall, the group wrote:

“In our discussions, we have received troubling information about not only Jackson’s behavior, but the behavior of many prominent Maine Democrats toward women more broadly. Both as a result of the credibility of the sources and in the interest of not seeing our movement make the same mistake twice, we are choosing to share some of this now,” the post reads. “As Maine Senate President in a state senate caucus meeting several years ago, Troy Jackson, in a heated disagreement, struck a female colleague with a bottle he threw at her. There are many witnesses, and it appears this is a widespread open secret within Maine politics and not an isolated incident. This information is still developing and we will provide updates in a thread in the comments of this post as we receive it.”

The race pits Jackson against longtime Sen. Collins in November.

Collins has held the seat since 1997 and maintains strong name recognition and fundraising advantages in the state.
