President Trump on Thursday responded to Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi rebel group’s attacks on shipping in the Red Sea, threatening to hold both Iran and the Houthis responsible.

Trump previously struck a deal with the Houthis after bombing them for over a month during Operation Rough Rider in Spring 2025. This came after they last targeted shipping in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab Strait.

“A year ago the United States of America attacked, very powerfully, the Houthis, for their interference with commerce and trade, by shooting at ships. Since that time, and during our conflict with Iran, they have acted very responsibly,” Trump noted on Thursday. “Unfortunately, now they are starting up again, shooting at two Saudi Arabian ships last night,” he added, putting Iran and the Houthis on notice.

US forces completed a twelfth consecutive night of attacks on Iranian military sites on Wednesday night.

In footage released by US Central Command, Iranian military vehicles and boats are seen being blown up in airstrikes.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, the Iran-backed Houthi rebel group started targeting shipping in the Red Sea on Wednesday after imposing a naval blockade on the Bab ​el-Mandeb strait, the gateway between the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden near Saudi Arabia’s western coastline.

Trump responded to the Houthis’ threats on Tuesday, the day before the attack, telling reporters he’ll “take care of” the Houthis if they begin attacking ships.

On Thursday, Trump said in a statement, “If they do this again, the U.S. will hold Iran responsible, in that the Houthis are a Surrogate and/or Proxy of Iran, and major military punishment will be inflicted upon Iran and, of course, the Houthis, themselves.”

President Trump on Wednesday also issued new warnings against Iran, threatening to hit one power plant or bridge for every ship they hit in the Strait of Hormuz after Iran attacked another tanker near the coast of Oman on Tuesday.

The Justice Department has received House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan’s criminal referral of Jack Smith and is conducting an investigation into his false statements to Congress.

On Wednesday evening House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) criminally referred former special counsel Jack Smith to the Justice Department for prosecution.

In a letter to Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche, Chairman Jordan said Jack Smith’s testimony included “intentionally false statements designed to obstruct the Committee’s oversight.”

“All individuals have an obligation to comply with a duly authorized congressional inquiry. Mr. Smith, a former public servant, is no different,” Jordan wrote in a letter to acting Attorney General Todd Blanche on Wednesday. “Yet his testimony included intentionally false statements designed to obstruct the Committee’s oversight.”

“His conduct can only be understood as an effort to thwart the Committee’s inquiry by intentionally making false statements and representations before Congress,” Jordan added, according to Fox News.

At issue is Jack Smith’s testimony to the House Judiciary Committee last December.

Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley last Tuesday revealed that Jack Smith spied on 44 members of Congress and actually read their text messages.

Jack Smith said under oath that he did not read any text messages – but this is not true.

Jack Smith lied when asked if the records he requested included the contents of calls and texts.

A small local Kentucky paper is going viral after publishing serious direct threats to the lives of President Trump, members of his administration, and his supporters in what is either a lazy oversight or something more sinister.

On Thursday, Libs of TikTok discovered that the The Mountain Eagle, a newspaper in Whitesburg, KY, had published two death threats in the paper’s “Speak Your Piece” section, which allows readers to anonymously sound off on what is on their minds.

One recent comment calls for not only throwing Trump out of office but also executing him and all his fellow “cultists.”

“Get that Nazi p*dophile traitor out of office and take his entire corrupt administration with him,” one reader says. “Put them all 10 feet deep in concrete and Quickline and then start hunting down the rest of the cultists.”

The second death threat comes from yesterday’s “Speak Your Piece.” The reader starts by whining about Trump discussing sending “Gestapo” agents to the polls before calling for the deaths of federal agents.

“Trump is back to talking about posting his Gestapo agents at the polls to intimidate voters,’ the reader writes. “Don’t be intimidated.”

“Instead, give the Nazi freaks reason to fear the people. Whatever their body count reaches on election day,” the reader continues. “Double it if you find them at your polling place.”

“No argument, no discussion, just put them down.”

Making these publishing decisions by The Mountain Eagle even more alarming is that journalists are well-educated on the meaning of the First Amendment of the US Constitution.

Death threats are obviously NOT protected under the Constitution and should be reported to the proper authorities.

We have already seen at least three attempts on Trump’s life in just the last two years, and TDS-suffering leftists are almost everywhere. What if this person is the next would-be assassin?

One hopes that Trump’s FBI and Secret Service will make contact soon with The Mountain Eagle and try to find out who made these wicked threats. If the paper refuses cooperation, legal measures need to be taken.

The security situation in Mexico continues to deteriorate, with even elected officials hunted down and killed at an alarming rate.

Since Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum took office back in October 2024, at least 14 sitting mayors have been assassinated.

Of those, three mayors were killed just in the first half of 2026.

In the latest chapter of this horrific saga, a small-town mayor in central Mexico was shot dead inside the town hall after surviving a previous assassination attempt.

CBS News reported:

“The town of Temoac is located in the state of Morelos, a region close to Mexico City where several drug cartels are active.

Mayor Valentin Lavin, who was allied to President Claudia Sheinbaum’s leftist party, had already survived an armed attack in January, according to local media reports.”

Forensic experts and police officers located his dead body inside local government facilities, the state prosecutor’s office said.

An operation to arrest those responsible for the crime was underway, it added in a statement.

People brought flowers to the city hall in honor of Lavin, who became one of almost 100 mayors murdered in Mexico since drug-related violence surged in 2006.
