A new report says that FBI Director Kash Patel is planning a trip to Russia later this year.

Patel is scheduled to visit Russia on Oct. 14 and Oct. 15, according to Politico.

The outlet cited a “U.S. official familiar with the travel plans” as its source, as well as “a person familiar with the situation.”

The report said Patel will visit Moscow and St. Petersburg.

The official said that it is likely Patel’s visit will be hosted by the FSB, the Russian security force that was created after the KGB was dissolved after the dissolution of the Soviet Union.

The report said Patel’s itinerary is uncertain, as is the potential of any meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

Neither the White House, FBI, nor Department of Justice would comment on the report.

Robert Mueller, the special counsel who investigated the Russiagate hoax, was the last FBI director to visit Russia, doing so in 2013.

Patel’s past connections with Russia have been anything but convivial, with a major part of his background devoted to trashing Russiagate and investigating Russian meddling in U.S. elections.

The unconfirmed report that Patel would visit Russia stirred criticism.

“Our FBI Director, who was an unregistered lobbyist for Qatar, is heading to Russia as the White House prepares to impose more sanctions on Russia, which is supplying Iran with weapons to murder US soldiers,” right wing activist Laura Loomer posted.

“Nothing to see here,” she wrote on X.

Vitriol flowed from the left, where Occupy Democrats, a progressive group, also attacked the concept of Patel visiting Russia.

“The man who built his entire political career casting doubt on Russian election interference is now planning to personally shake hands with Russian intelligence officials, at a moment when U.S. intelligence has reaffirmed — using documents Trump himself just declassified — that Moscow has been actively working to undermine American democracy,” the group frothed in a post on X.

The Pentagon identified the third and fourth US service members killed in action over the past week during operations in the Middle East in support of the Iran War. 

In total, 18 US service members have died during operations against Iran since February.

US Army Sgt. Angel S. Rampersad, 28, of Ozone Park, New York, was identified as one of the three soldiers killed in action during an Iranian attack at Muwaffaq Salti Air Base, Jordan on July 17.

Rampersad was previously reported missing in action. The Pentagon said in a statement on Tuesday, “The Soldier status was updated to a Duty Status–Whereabouts Unknown and is believed to be deceased.”

Sgt. Rampersad was assigned to 1st Battalion, 57th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, 52nd Air Defense Artillery Brigade, 10th Army Air & Missile Defense Command, Ansbach, Germany, the Pentagon said.

Additionally, Army Sgt. Michael Emmanuel Swinton, 30, of Fayetteville, North Carolina was killed in action by a downed Iranian drone in Iraq over the weekend.

Swinton was “killed in action during a controlled detonation of a downed One-Way Unmanned Aerial System on July 19, 2026, at Erbil Air Base, Iraq,” the Pentagon said on Tuesday.

Sgt. Swinton was assigned to D Battery, 2nd Battalion, 55th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, 108th Air Defense Artillery Brigade, Fort Bragg, North Carolina, the Pentagon said.

Pvt. Isabella Gonzales, 19, of Carrollton, Texas, and First Lt. Tyler James Feehan, 25, of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, were also killed in action during the Iranian attacks in Jordan on July 17.

President Trump is attending a Dignified Transfer for the four troops returning home today.

Four orders of Catholic nuns and several Catholic healthcare ministries filed a federal lawsuit against New York on July 17, arguing the state’s new assisted-suicide law forces them to participate in ending patients’ lives in violation of their faith. The case, Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm v. James, was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York against Attorney General Letitia James. The plaintiffs are represented by the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty.

The 13 plaintiffs include the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm, the Dominican Sisters of Hawthorne, the Missionary Sisters of St. Benedict, the Little Sisters of the Poor, the Benedictine Sisters, Bishop John O. Barres, the Diocese of Rockville Centre, and Catholic Health, a network of five Long Island hospitals.

At issue is New York’s Medical Aid in Dying Act, which Governor Kathy Hochul signed into law on February 6. The law takes effect on August 5. It allows a mentally capable adult New York resident with a terminal diagnosis and a prognosis of six months or less to request and self-administer life-ending medication. A doctor may prescribe the drug but may not administer it.

The signed legislation includes a five-day waiting period between prescription and filling, a requirement that the patient’s oral request be recorded by video or audio, a mandatory mental health evaluation, a bar on financially interested parties serving as witnesses, an in-person initial physician evaluation, and an opt-out for religiously oriented home hospice providers. A violation is classified as professional misconduct under the Education Law.

The plaintiffs argue the law’s opt-out does not go far enough. According to the complaint, cited by Becket, a healthcare provider who declines to prescribe the medication could still be required to inform terminally ill patients of their option to obtain it, help them satisfy eligibility requirements, and refer them to a willing provider.

The complaint states that refusal could expose providers to fines, license revocation, or criminal penalties. The plaintiffs argue that this framework conflicts with the First Amendment, federal healthcare conscience protections, and Catholic teaching on the sanctity of life.

That teaching, invoked throughout the complaint, rests on the premise that human life is a gift from God rather than a possession to be disposed of at will. Under this view, a person is the steward of his or her life rather than its owner. The Catechism of the Catholic Church classifies both suicide and euthanasia as violations of the Fifth Commandment, “You shall not kill,” and describes assisted suicide as “morally unacceptable” regardless of a patient’s consent or suffering.

The Church distinguishes between withholding or withdrawing extraordinary medical treatment, which is permitted when treatment is futile or disproportionately burdensome, and directly administering or providing a lethal agent, which is never permitted. The first allows an underlying illness to run its course, while the second actively causes death.

Human dignity, in this framework, is intrinsic and does not diminish with age, illness, or disability. As a result, suffering is to be accompanied through palliative and hospice care rather than ended by ending the patient’s life.

The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services extend this prohibition to institutional cooperation. They bar Catholic facilities from actively helping a patient obtain assisted suicide, including through referral, while still permitting a patient to leave the facility or transfer their own records.

The Act’s own text, however, shields providers who decline to participate. Under § 2899-l of the law, a provider “shall not be subject to civil, administrative, or criminal liability or penalty or professional disciplinary action” for refusing to act. This exemption does not extend to negligence, recklessness, or intentional misconduct.

The dispute instead centers on a separate requirement that an opt-out provider transfer the patient to another provider willing to assist. According to the complaint, even that referral violates the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services issued by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops. The directives hold that “suicide and euthanasia are never morally acceptable options” and bar a facility from “actively” aiding a patient in reaching another facility for such treatment, while still permitting the patient to leave or transfer records on their own.

Hochul’s signing statement separately confirmed that a violation of the Act is classified as professional misconduct under the Education Law. According to the plaintiffs, that consequence is tied to the transfer and disclosure duties rather than to the refusal to prescribe the medication itself.

Part of the plaintiffs’ argument rests on the Medical Aid in Dying Act’s interaction with New York’s existing Palliative Care Information Act, which already requires physicians and nurse practitioners to inform terminally ill patients of their end-of-life options. Because assisted dying is now one of those recognized options, the complaint contends providers must raise it with patients even absent a request, according to reporting on the filing. That reporting also states the religious exemption is narrower than in most other states that permit assisted dying, and that the Missionary Sisters of St. Benedict facility would receive no exemption because it is not classified as a healthcare facility.

Mark Rienzi, president of Becket and lead attorney for the plaintiffs, said New York is “conscripting the nuns who care for them into its suicide cult on pain of crushing fines and professional ruin,” calling it “unconscionable and unconstitutional.” Mother Mary Rose Heery of the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm said the law “strikes at the heart” of their vocation of ensuring no resident dies alone.

Mother Marie Edward of the Dominican Sisters of Hawthorne, whose Rosary Hill Home has cared for roughly 45,000 low-income cancer patients over more than 125 years, said the order’s calling is “to offer comfort, prayer, and loving medical care… not death.” Bishop Barres said the ministries “will never submit to New York’s culture of death.”

Asked for comment, Hochul told Fox News Digital that the administration could not discuss pending litigation but that “participation is entirely voluntary, and religious facilities have the right to opt out if they choose to do so.”

When she signed the bill in February, Hochul described it as a matter of bodily autonomy. She said New Yorkers “deserve the choice to endure less suffering, not by shortening their lives, but by shortening their deaths.”

The Attorney General’s office had not responded to requests for comment as of the initial reporting on the lawsuit, according to the Catholic Courier.

Becket has said the plaintiffs plan to file a motion for a preliminary injunction against the state “in the coming days.” No injunction motion or court ruling had been issued as of this writing.

Another key figure in the Jeffrey Epstein saga is dead.

Daniel Siad, the model recruiter accused of procuring young girls for convicted child sex predator Jeffrey Epstein, was found dead in his home in Colombes, France, earlier this week.

Marie-Céline Lawrysz, deputy public prosecutor at the Nanterre Judicial Court, confirmed the death in public statements on Wednesday. An autopsy will now be conducted to determine the cause of death.

The Nanterre prosecutor’s office said, via Mediaite:

“An investigation to determine the cause of death was opened on Monday evening following the discovery.”

Siad’s name appears thousands of times in Department of Justice files related to the Epstein case.

He continued working with Epstein even AFTER the billionaire was first convicted in Florida and forced to register as a sex offender.

According to the report, Siad’s exchanges with Epstein often consisted of Siad sending Epstein photos and details about young girls he had met and recruited as potential assistants or other workers. In one 2015 email, Siad sent Epstein a photo of a 16-year-old girl and her friend — and Epstein replied that the girls were “too old.”

Just recently, Siad spoke with CNN’s Katie Polglase and denied ever knowing anything about Epstein’s crimes — despite introducing him to two girls who later accused Epstein of sexual abuse.

Siad told CNN, via Mediaite:

“I trusted him and believed this guy was a professional person. I never heard anything from anyone I introduced to him who came back to me that they had a bad situation. I believed this guy is a professional person.”

Siad was also facing his own abuse allegations, including rape, from multiple models. He denied the accusations, telling BFMTV in May, “I have never raped anyone in my life.”

And here is the kicker…

Siad was NEVER questioned by investigators before his death.

A former model, who gave a deposition in June as part of the investigation, told the BBC, via Mediaite:

“An important link in the chain has just vanished into thin air, without there even having been a chance to recover the information Daniel Siad might have possessed — given that he was never questioned.”

Epstein, of course, died of an apparent suicide in 2019 while facing sex trafficking charges.

Now, another man whose name is all over the Epstein files is dead before anyone got him under oath.

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani said his administration is in an active internal conversation with the city’s Law Department over whether he could direct police to detain Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu if he travels to New York in September for the United Nations General Assembly. In an interview on the New York Times podcast The Interview, Mamdani said Netanyahu “belongs in the Hague,” calling him a war criminal charged by the International Criminal Court over the Gaza war.

President Donald Trump said Netanyahu “will not be arrested, in any way, shape, or form, while in the United States of America.” Netanyahu responded on radio host Sid Rosenberg’s program that Mamdani is with “the terror actors.”

Irrespective of how one feels about the Gaza conflict or the current U.S.-Iran conflict, Mamdani’s attacks on Benjamin Netanyahu are part of a consistent position he has held from the beginning. He has maintained an anti-Israel, anti-Jewish, and pro-Palestinian stance, and now appears to support the IRGC.

His antisemitism and support for Islamic extremists are ironic given that New York is the most Jewish city in the United States and has nearly as many Jews as Jerusalem, the capital of Israel.

New York City holds the largest Jewish population of any city outside Israel, estimated at roughly 960,000 residents in the five boroughs and 1.4 million across the metropolitan area. Mamdani won the mayoralty without majority Jewish support: a CNN exit poll conducted by SSRS found 63% of Jewish voters backed independent candidate Andrew Cuomo, while 33% backed Mamdani and 3% backed Republican Curtis Sliwa.

Precinct-level results showed the divide ran along religious and ideological lines: Cuomo took up to 90% of the vote in the Hasidic enclave of Williamsburg, while Mamdani won comparable margins in nearby, more secular and gentrified precincts.

A February 2026 poll of 665 Jewish voters commissioned by The Jewish Majority and conducted by Mercury Public Affairs found that 82 percent were concerned about the “rise of antisemitism in New York City,” including two-thirds of those who voted for Mamdani, and 58% linked that rise to the normalization of anti-Zionism. The same poll found 61% believed Mamdani’s refusal to condemn the phrase “globalize the intifada” had emboldened pro-Hamas protesters.

A separate controversy involves a “New York City Immigrant Enclaves” map released by the Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs and NYC Tourism as part of its promotion for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The map identifies 30 neighborhoods across the five boroughs but omits most white immigrant neighborhoods, including all Italian and Jewish enclaves.

Mamdani condemned the U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran and the killing of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei as “a catastrophic escalation” in an illegal war of aggression, opposing what he characterized as a war aimed at regime change. His party, the Democratic Socialists of America, issued a statement standing “firmly in agreement” with Mamdani.

Fabien Levy, a Jewish Iranian who served as former Mayor Eric Adams’ deputy mayor, said that when Persians were marching in Iran and were being killed, Mamdani did not proactively offer support. Filmmaker Nim Shapira separately criticized Mamdani for condemning the strikes as “aggression” without acknowledging Israeli civilians hit by Iranian missile fire.

On the second anniversary of the October 7 Hamas attack, Mamdani posted a statement on X stating that in its aftermath, Netanyahu and the Israeli government “launched a genocidal war.” The same statement said he mourns Hamas’s victims, prays for the return of hostages, and hopes for “the dismantling of Hamas.” The New York Post reported the statement drew criticism from both Republicans and Democrats for its characterization of the Israeli military campaign as genocidal.

Mamdani was also criticized over his handling of a synagogue protest. Protesters outside Young Israel of Kew Gardens Hills, a Queens synagogue, were recorded chanting, “Say it loud, say it clear, we support Hamas here,” during a demonstration against a real estate event being held there.

Mamdani waited roughly a day before publicly addressing the incident. Governor Kathy Hochul, by contrast, had written that Hamas “calls for the genocide of Jews” and that the chants were “disgusting” and “dangerous.”

As a state Assemblyman in 2021, Mamdani led chants of “BDS, BDS,” standing for Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions against Israel, at a pro-Palestinian rally, telling the crowd he would hold every single person who has power in this city, in this state, in this country, accountable.

During a Ramadan event at a Staten Island mosque, he was introduced by Abdullah Akl, co-director of public affairs and civic engagement with the Muslim American Society of New York, who has a documented history of using the phrase “globalize the intifada.”

Mamdani’s political network includes documented financial and organizational links to relatives of Neville “Roy” Singham, a Shanghai-based former software executive who has funded groups promoting Chinese Communist Party messaging.

Jewish Insider reported that Goodwin, Singham’s niece, led the “Jews for Zohran” outreach effort during Mamdani’s campaign, bundled campaign contributions, and collaborated with Mamdani on organizational matters within NYC-DSA. Her parents are both NYC-DSA members who have donated to congressional candidates endorsed by Mamdani.

Separately, Mamdani’s wife, Rama Duwaji, liked Instagram posts from The People’s Forum promoting “All Out for Palestine,” a Times Square rally that The People’s Forum co-sponsored on October 8, 2023, one day after the Hamas attack. Attendees at the rally waved Palestinian flags and chanted phrases including “Resistance is justified” and “Globalize the intifada.” Some also chanted “700,” an early casualty count from the attack, while making throat-slitting gestures. Governor Kathy Hochul called the rally “abhorrent and morally repugnant.”

Singham himself is under a federal grand jury investigation in the Southern District of New York. The investigation began over possible violations of the Foreign Agents Registration Act and has since expanded into a criminal tax probe examining whether funds were unlawfully funneled through nonprofits he controls, including The People’s Forum.

The People’s Forum, the organization Mamdani’s wife promoted and that Singham’s network has been linked to, was also part of a broader coalition that backed the Global Sumud Flotilla, an attempt to break Israel’s naval blockade of Gaza that drew backing from socialist and hard-left parties across Europe, including Spain’s Podemos and Sumar, Portugal’s Left Bloc, and France’s La France Insoumise, along with domestic Marxist-Leninist groups such as the Party for Socialism and Liberation and the ANSWER Coalition.

Israeli forces intercepted the flotilla and detained hundreds of participants. The U.S. Treasury Department sanctioned four individuals tied to the flotilla in May 2026, stating it was organized by the Popular Conference for Palestinians Abroad and Samidoun, both of which it says are “clandestinely controlled by, or act on behalf of” Hamas and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, with the PCPA “established with funding from Hamas’s International Relations Bureau.”

These sanctions are tied to the Democratic Socialists of America, the organization Mamdani belongs to and identifies with as a democratic socialist, called on all DSA chapters to mobilize in solidarity with the flotilla.

The People’s Forum and Code Pink also organized a parallel effort, the Nuestra América Flotilla, which sailed toward Cuba in March 2026 in what organizers said was solidarity with the island amid a U.S. oil embargo. The People’s Forum is co-directed by Manolo De Los Santos, who has participated in events with Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel and has been described by Cuban state media as a “friend of the island.”

A March 2026 “Hands Off Iran” national day of action was separately co-endorsed by DSA, The People’s Forum, and Code Pink, the same organizations already tied to Mamdani’s coalition through his DSA membership, the People’s Forum rally his wife promoted, and Code Pink co-founder Jodie Evans’s husband, Neville Singham.

At the Times Square version of the protest on February 28, 2026, demonstrators chanted “Hands off Iran now” while a speaker told the crowd the U.S./Israeli strikes were “an aid to advance imperialist Zionist interests,” and signs in the crowd read “For Iran’s right to a nuclear deterrent” and “Free Iran from imperialism, theocracy.” The People’s Forum’s own Times Square protest combined all three causes into one set of demands: “Hands off Iran, impose an arms embargo on Israel, and end the genocide in Gaza.”

CAIR, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, has been tied to Mamdani’s campaign through the Unity and Justice Fund, a PAC that Mamdani political advisor Linda Sarsour said was the “largest institutional donor to the pro-Zohran super PAC in New York,” with campaign finance records showing it donated roughly $100,000 to New Yorkers for Lower Costs, a PAC supporting Mamdani.

CAIR disputes this characterization and says, as a 501(c)(3), it does not donate to political campaigns; the New York Post corrected an earlier version of its reporting after CAIR objected to being described as a direct campaign backer. CAIR was separately named an unindicted co-conspirator in the 2007–2008 Holy Land Foundation trial, in which five leaders were convicted of funneling over $12 million to Hamas.

CAIR co-founders Omar Ahmad and Nihad Awad were, according to a George Washington University Program on Extremism report, leading members of the U.S. Muslim Brotherhood’s Palestine Committee, the same committee that produced the Holy Land Foundation.
