Landlords in New York City are sounding the alarm about new policies being put in place by Zohran Mamdani and his team which they say is crushing the American dream.

Even before Mamdani took office, members of his inner circle began to make their plans clear. They want the city to take over buildings from private owners and they’re using unfair policies to do it.

By freezing the rent and then adding requirements that put a further financial burden on the landlords, they are making it impossible to manage property which ultimately will put the landlord out of business.

Then the city government can swoop in and take advantage.

The DSA people paint these landlords as evil fat cats, but that’s just not reality.

Democratic Socialists’ calls to freeze rents and reject double-digit investment returns for landlords are fueling fears among some New York City property owners, who say years of rising costs and restrictive housing policies are pushing family-run businesses to the brink.

“It shows how flawed the system is in its entirety and how inefficient everything is here,” New York landlord Jose Tur told Fox News Tuesday.

Tur, whose late grandfather spent decades building the family’s New York real estate business after emigrating from Cuba, said the debate over landlord profits overlooks the hardships facing many small property owners.

He recalled how his grandfather, who purchased his first apartment building in 1979, spent decades growing the family business before he was reportedly mugged at gunpoint by a tenant who had not paid rent in five years. Tur said his grandfather suffered a stroke and died two weeks later at age 99.

Fellow New York landlord Natalia Bonanno also relayed her family’s struggle amid what she characterized as growing attacks from the far left: mounting operating costs that have made it increasingly difficult to keep rent-stabilized buildings financially viable.

The plans of the DSA and the Mamdani administration are going to backfire.

The city simply does not have the money or the personnel to effectively manage residential buildings all over the city. They are going to fall into disrepair and the quality of life in the city will continue to fall. It’s is essentially a doom loop.

A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of Ann Widdecombe, an icon of British conservatism who was found dead at her Devon home earlier this month.

Joshua Kerry, 28, is accused of killing Widdecombe, 78, at her bungalow in Haytor on July 8.

Prosecutors allege he struck her 21 times with a hammer after entering the property while she was eating lunch.

During a brief appearance at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, Kerry confirmed his name, date of birth and address. He did not enter a plea.

Prosecutor Kashif Malik told the court that security camera footage placed Kerry at Widdecombe’s home shortly before the attack.

He is alleged to have driven from his home in Rotherham, entered the bungalow through the front door, remained inside for around two minutes and then left with Widdecombe’s wallet.

Concern for her welfare was raised after she failed to attend a scheduled online interview for Channel 5 shortly before 1pm.

Widdecombe was discovered the following morning by her gardener, lying on the kitchen floor of her home. Emergency services pronounced her dead at the scene.

A provisional post-mortem examination found she died from blunt force trauma to the head.

Kerry was arrested on July 11th after investigators linked him to a red Vauxhall Corsa seen outside the property around the time of the killing.

Police initially denied that there was a political motive for the attack, although they have since transferred the case to counterterrorism police.

Footage of the suspect in the murder of Ann Widdecombe has been released, showing him leave his home early on Wednesday morning carrying a weapon, driving nearly 300 miles and killing the 78yr old lady.

Later on Tuesday, Kerry appeared before the Old Bailey, where Mrs Justice Cheema-Grubb remanded him in custody and refused bail.

Widdecombe represented Maidstone and The Weald as a Conservative MP from 1987 to 2010, becoming one of Britain’s most recognizable and influential conservative voices.

Renowned for her good humor and staunch conservatism, she remained a familiar figure in public life long after leaving Parliament through broadcasting, writing and television appearances.

A committed Eurosceptic, she returned to frontline politics in 2019 when she was elected to the European Parliament for Nigel Farage’s Brexit Party.

She also ecame a household name through television, competing on Strictly Come Dancing and presenting Ann Widdecombe to the Rescue, in which she helped struggling families and individuals turn their lives around.

A 71-year-old veteran is dead, and police believe his killer was an illegal alien let into our country by Biden, and protected by California sanctuary policies.

How many more innocent Americans must lose their lives at the hands of criminal illegal aliens before the left stops protecting the invaders?

An illegal alien released into the US by the lawless Biden Regime and protected by California’s dangerous sanctuary laws, murdered an elderly Air Force veteran at his home in Utah and then fled to Vegas.

On May 30, 71-year-old James Randall “Randy” Witten was hanging decorations up on his porch in Utah when Axel Eduardo Chavez-Marroquin, 24, pulled up in a Honda Civic in a ski mask and opened fire on him.

Witnesses heard 10-15 shots.

Axel Eduardo Chavez-Marroquin and an accomplice fled to Vegas and remained at large for weeks. He was finally taken into custody on June 16.

Chavez-Marroquin has a violent history and was repeatedly sheltered by California’s sanctuary policies.

“Chavez-Marroquin, a citizen of El Salvador, illegally entered California in 2021 and was released into the interior by the Biden administration,” Border Hawk reported.

“In 2024, he was charged with domestic violence in Santa Ana, California, and in 2025, he was charged with domestic violence in nearby Laguna Niguel,” Border Hawk said.

California officials ignored ICE detainers lodged against Chavez-Marroquin, and he went on to commit murder.

These stories have sadly become a fixture in the American news cycle.

It seems every week another innocent man, woman, or child is brutally slain by an illegal alien.

President Trump told reporters on Tuesday that the US will attack Iran’s Pickaxe Mountain, where Israeli intelligence claims that Iran has been rebuilding their nuclear program since last fall. 

“We’ll be hitting that area very, probably pretty soon. And there’s not a thing they can do about it, and there’s not a thing they can do about it,” Trump said, noting that “normally I wouldn’t say that.”

“If I thought they could do something about it, I would never say that. But we’ll be hitting that area pretty soon, and very heavily,” he added.

Trump previously threatened, “We’re going to take out Pickaxe Mountain. Tell the Iranians to be ready,” during an appearance on Hugh Hewitt’s radio show.

Trump doubled down on Tuesday, though he noted that Iran’s moving of nuclear centrifuges to the location underground “doesn’t mean anything unless they have the material.”

“We follow the material. That’s where the action is,” he said before confirming that the area will be hit “very heavily.”

Per the Times of Israel:

Israeli intelligence has reportedly assessed that Iran has moved thousands of nuclear centrifuges into a site in the Natanz area known as Pickaxe Mountain, burying them deep underground and making them harder to target in aerial strikes.

The Wall Street Journal, citing US and Israeli officials, reported Monday that Israel has told the US that its intelligence shows Tehran made the move last fall, following the 12-day war in June 2025, during which the US and Israel bombed Iran’s nuclear facilities, including some buried underground.

The Pickaxe site was not targeted at the time, nor has it been hit since the start of a more intensive US-Israeli air campaign against Iran on February 28, which was launched in a bid to destabilize the regime and destroy its nuclear and ballistic missile capacities. There has been activity at the site, including movement of trucks and construction, for some 15  months.

It is not clear where the centrifuges that Israel warned about had come from, the report said, noting they may have been brought from other Iranian nuclear sites.

The Democrat interim US Attorney who was promptly fired by President Trump shortly after he was appointed by a panel of district judges has filed a lawsuit to block his removal.

Last week, President Trump immediately fired the Democrat US Attorney appointed by a panel of district court judges in Washington state after Democrats blocked Trump’s nominee.

Democrat jurist Roger Rogoff was fired less than one hour after he was selected to replace Trump’s nominee.

The Western District of Washington district court chose Rogoff after Democrats blocked Trump’s choice Neil Floyd.

Neil Floyd is currently the First Assistant US Attorney in Seattle.

Roger Rogoff is now threatening legal action.

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche weighed in after the firing.

“District court judges can appoint a temporary U.S. Attorney, and POTUS can fire them. WDWA judges abandoned the time-honored process of consultation with the administration so that the selected U.S. Attorney is qualified to serve in the administration,” Blanche said.

“Roger Rogoff has been fired by the President,” he said.

Rogoff’s attorneys accused the Trump Administration of using Neil Floyd’s status as a “First US Assistant Attorney” to keep him indefinitely in the position without a presidential nomination and senate confirmation.

Rogoff’s attorneys said the Trump Administration is violating the Constitution.

“By purporting to fire Mr. Rogoff—and apparently committing to firing anyone else a district court appoints without ‘the support of POTUS’ — the President has attempted to negate Congress’s exercise of its constitutionally enumerated power,” Rogoff’s lawyers wrote, referring to Todd Blanche’s social media post.
