Ninth Circuit Court Allows Border Patrol to Continue Raids

A federal appeals court on Monday ruled that border patrol agents can continue raids in California.
The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals lifted an injunction imposed by a Biden-appointed judge last year that blocked federal agents from detaining people without ‘reasonable suspicion.’
Federal agents conducted sweeping immigration raids at California farms last year that sparked a fierce legal battle.
A Ninth Circuit panel dealt a setback to an agricultural workers’ union on Monday after it lifted a preliminary injunction prohibiting Border Patrol agents from detaining people without reasonable suspicion they violated immigration laws.
U.S. District Judge Jennifer Thurston, a Joe Biden appointee, imposed the preliminary injunction in April 2025. But the Department of Homeland Security, arguing the United Farm Workers of America didn’t have standing to pursue its class action challenging sweeps in California’s Central Valley to detain and arrest farm workers in violation of their Fourth Amendment rights.
Siding with the government, the three-judge panel determined in their 4-page-ruling “the district court considered only plaintiffs’ allegations of past harm. Although past harm may support standing to seek damages, it does not, on its own, establish standing to seek prospective injunctive relief.”
The United Farm Workers also needed to show impending future injury for a preliminary injunction, the panel ruled, finding no traction to the union’s claims during oral arguments that the department’s practice of routinely violating its clients’ Fourth Amendment rights was evidence of future injury.

Recently released police bodycam footage shows the stunning moment law enforcement officers in Washington state rolled up on a blood-streaked Marine pilot who’d only moments earlier safely ejected from a combat jet.
Officers with the Yakima County Sheriff’s Office found Marine Maj. Jackson Simon walking calmly along the road on June 13 shortly after his F/A-18 Hornet crashed into the side of Mount Rainier near Rimrock Lake.
“Hey, sir, how are you?” Simon nonchalantly asked the officers as they made contact with him.
“Good! Are you the only pilot?” one officer replied, prompting Simon to reveal that he was alone.
Simon later said that he “went through some trees” after “doing circles over the lake” as part of a training routine.
“We were doing circles over the lake, doing some low-level training,” he noted. “And then I tucked in, and I’m not sure exactly, honestly, I’m a little bit frazzled.”
According to CBS News, his jet hit a power line as he was “dazzling lakeside spectators, circling with thunderous, low-flying maneuvers.” The subsequent crash spawned “a sizable brush fire that spread across two acres.”
The network stressed that military investigators had “yet to blame the crash on the jet hitting those power lines.”
What was known was that the downed jet was estimated to cost “tens of millions of dollars.:

Simon was later seen on police bodycam footage calmly having a phone conversation with a friend.
“Hey, buddy, this is Major Simon, I just crashed,” he said while on the call.
According to Fox News, some of the lakeside bystanders who watched the military exercise called 911 after seeing Simon eject. An incident report showed that the first call came in at 12:18 pm local time.
Local station KING-TV in Seattle also interviewed witnesses.
In a statement to Fox News, the Marine Corps said the crash was the result of a “non-fatal aviation mishap.”
In a separate statement to the Military Times, the Marine Corps refused to confirm whether the “aviation mishap” was also responsible for the fire.
However, officer bodycam footage showed one of the officers telling someone on the phone that “we got the hillside on fire where the jet landed.”
Task & Purpose notes that this was just one of several “crashes” in recent months.
“Last month, a F-35B from the same Marine Corps unit crashed in Southern California,” according to the outlet. “Other incidents include a B-52 crash at Edwards Air Force Base that killed three civilians and five airmen, as well as an AH-64 Apache helicopter crash in Texas last week that killed two soldiers.”

The league has reportedly dismissed the moves as publicity stunts intended to mock the organization.
According to reports from Front Office Sports, the WNBA stated it “is not going to give oxygen to efforts designed to mock the league or use this topic to demean and marginalize others” and “will not allow outside pressure or manufactured controversy to dictate league processes.”
It was another preachy nothingburger from the world’s most dysfunctional sports league.

WNBA Says Former NBA Stars Enes Kanter Freedom and Royce White Are Ineligible After They Announce They ‘Identify as Women’ and Enter Draft

The WNBA has ruled that former NBA players Enes Kanter Freedom and Royce White are ineligible to enter the league’s draft or play in the women’s circuit after both men announced they identify as women and formally declared for the 2027 draft.

As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, Kanter Freedom, a 6-foot-10 former NBA center, attended a Chicago Sky game on Sunday wearing a T-shirt that read “WOMAN noun. adult human female.”
The NBA star ended up in a heated verbal exchange with Sky guard Natasha Cloud, who approached him during a timeout and shouted at him.
Security ultimately escorted Kanter Freedom from the arena.
Kanter Freedom explained that he had simply celebrated a three-pointer and responded that he was there to protect women.
While the WNBA has avoided issuing a public policy on transgender eligibility, its rejection of Kanter Freedom and White’s declarations effectively draws a line against adult men entering the women’s league under self-identification.

Last week, Barry County, Michigan, Clerk David Olson made a video asking for the feds to step in and remove non-citizens from the voter rolls in Hastings Charter Township, Michigan.
Clerk Olson explained what the whistleblower told the Barry County Sheriff: “When a non-citizen changes their address, programming automatically registers that citizen to vote. When the employee advised the supervisor, the supervisor said, ‘That’s okay, because it will be caught downline by the clerks.” Olson challenged the supervisor’s statement, saying, “That is not correct! Once it’s in the qualified voter file, there’s no way for me to verify citizenship!”
He continued, “Therefore, they [non-citizens] are automatically issued a ballot or an absentee ballot. So, since it is my responsibility to safeguard the voter rolls in my township, I’m asking if the federal government is interested in helping verify my citizens’ [voter] rolls?”
Clerk Olson appears to welcome the opportunity to have his voter rolls cleared of non-citizens who have no right to vote in our elections. “I would be welcome to have them here,” he said, as he assured the integrity of his voter rolls would not be compromised.
Olson explained, “I will safeguard my voter roll in the office, but they are certainly welcome to come and compare against mine, and this way will uphold the law. I will definitely follow mine, and it will be fair and honest.” The soft-spoken clerk ended with a simple, “Thank you.

• When the informant showed proof to a supervisor, the supervisor claimed the county clerk would catch and remove non-citizens. Leaf states that this is incorrect: clerks receive access to the Qualified Voter File only after the Secretary of State has already registered the person, and the QVF itself does not flag citizenship status.
• Once on the rolls, the person can request a mail-in ballot or vote in person with an ID card; polling places do not verify citizenship.
• Leaf says his office has referred the matter to the U.S. Department of Justice for investigation of possible conspiracy to violate 18 U.S.C. § 611 (unlawful voting by non-citizens) by placing non-citizens on the voter rolls and into the jury pool.
• He is also asking the Michigan Legislature to act immediately to stop the practice.
• He encourages anyone with additional evidence to contact his office or their local sheriff, closing with: “You know this is wrong, it’s time to act.”

A new report from the Institute for Family Studies reveals a clear and growing ideological divide in American fertility rates, with conservatives averaging significantly more children than liberals.
According to the survey of more than 7,000 Americans ages 18 to 54, conservatives report an average of 1.4 children while liberals report just 1.09.
Fifty-one percent of liberals say they have no children at all, compared with 40 percent of conservatives.
The gap remains statistically significant when researchers account for sex, religion, race, income, age, marital status, and education, underscoring that political ideology itself is strongly associated with family decisions.
Liberals are far more likely to cite mental health concerns, worries about passing on bad genetics, and the perceived stress of parenting as reasons for avoiding having babies.
Eighteen percent of liberals listed mental health as a barrier, compared with only 10 percent of conservatives.
The 18 percent of liberals who were uncertain whether they would be good parents were double the 9 percent of conservatives who felt that way.

In summary, mental health worries, like genetic concerns and parenting fears, are correlated with lower fertility—and are also more prevalent among liberals than conservatives. Looking at both variables, there is a consistent trend: increased anxiety and worries are correlated with having fewer children. In addition to this finding, liberals are more likely to have these anxieties than conservatives. This could help bring to light the reasoning that liberals might give for why they are having fewer children or no children at all. It could also provide insight into some of the factors that influence their fertility decisions.
Thirty-six percent of liberals described parenting as “very complicated, difficult, and stressful,” versus 24 percent of conservatives.
When asked about ideal family size, conservatives preferred 2.71 children on average, moderates 2.43, and liberals just 2.16.
Researchers noted that this partisan fertility gap has widened since 1994, making the current divide a relatively recent phenomenon.
The Trump administration has pushed pro-family policies, including new savings accounts for supporting children. Vice President JD Vance and his wife have welcomed a fourth child while in office, and other administration figures, including former Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, have publicly prioritized having and raising children.
By contrast, high-profile progressive voices, like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, have highlighted egg freezing, abortion, and delayed parenthood.
The Institute for Family Studies data suggests that differing attitudes toward the demands and rewards of raising children are translating into real demographic outcomes that could shape the country’s political and cultural future for decades.
