According to a bombshell report from Semafor, Paramount Skydance CEO David Ellison is actively considering tapping tech visionaries and wealthy investors, including free-speech champion Elon Musk, to build a powerhouse investor syndicate for Paramount’s massive takeover merger with Warner Bros. Discovery.

If completed, this game-changing deal would bring both CBS and the ultra-left propaganda outlet CNN under the exact same corporate umbrella, with Musk holding significant backing and ownership stakes.

Larry Ellison, David’s father and the Oracle billionaire who personally guaranteed more than $40 billion of the equity financing for the deal, has a long relationship with Musk.

Larry Ellison put $1 billion into Musk’s 2022 takeover of Twitter, now X. He also invested in Tesla and served on its board.

The same family that bought Paramount, installed Bari Weiss at CBS News, and spent the last year ripping the activist rot out of “60 Minutes” is now looking at bringing in the man who bought Twitter and ended the old regime’s censorship operation.

The merger itself is nearly across the finish line. After a year of bidding wars, shareholder votes, Trump DOJ approval, and a last-ditch lawsuit from California AG Rob Bonta and a coalition of Democrat state attorneys general, the sides reached a settlement this week. The deal is expected to close in early October, according to The New York Times.

The Gateway Pundit has tracked this fight from the beginning.

In February, Paramount won the bidding war after Netflix walked away. Warner Bros. shareholders later approved the sale despite the usual Hollywood tantrum about “narrowing the range” of films, which in practice meant fewer lectures and more movies people actually want to watch.

In July, a Biden-appointed judge in Oakland issued a temporary restraining order after Bonta and 11 other mostly Democrat AGs sued to kill the deal. The Gateway Pundit reported that Paramount was already looking at packing up and leaving California over Bonta’s lawfare.

TMZ later reported that L.A. and state officials were told Paramount planned to announce it was leaving California. Ellison had already moved headquarters from New York to Los Angeles after buying Paramount. Bonta’s lawsuit was the thanks he got.

Meanwhile, Bari Weiss, brought in after Paramount bought The Free Press, has been doing exactly what the old CBS newsroom feared. She fired the far-left executive producer of “60 Minutes,” dumped anti-Trump correspondents, and started treating the show like a news program instead of a Democratic Super PAC.

CNN staffers have already been bracing for the same treatment. Reports earlier this year said Ellison and his team were considering giving Weiss some oversight of CNN after the merger. Mark Thompson, CNN’s editor-in-chief, reportedly told Paramount he would not share control. The newsroom is not happy.

Now add Musk’s name to the conversation and watch the panic intensify.

Paramount, looking to firm up its financial picture as it digests Warner Bros. Discovery, is looking for fresh sources of cash. Executives at the company have discussed asking Elon Musk to become part of a syndicate of equity investors into Paramount, according to people familiar with the matter.

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass recently claimed that there is really no need for an election for governor in California because a Republican ‘cannot win’ in the state.

So much for that sacred ‘democracy’ that Democrat are always talking about.

Bass also mocked Republican Steve Hilton’s accent. Isn’t that hateful? Don’t Democrats constantly lecture the rest of the country for not being inclusive enough? This woman is an utter fraud.

Well, somebody forgot to tell Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, because she just declared California’s governor’s race over, and that an election isn’t necessary.

Bass sat down with former ESPN personalities Jemele Hill and Cari Champion on the Flagrant and Funny podcast to talk about her reelection campaign, her runoff, and the Palisades and Altadena fires. During that conversation, Bass revealed what Democrats really think about “our democracy.”

“That’s why the governor’s race is over. Our governor’s name is Xavier Becerra,” Bass said. “You don’t need an election on November 3. A Republican cannot win in this state.”

Then she took a shot at Republican gubernatorial candidate Steve Hilton, the British-born former Fox News host. “And yet, a Republican with a British accent?!” she added.

A federal judge in Washington, D.C., has ordered the Trump administration to restore White House access for journalists from CNN, MS NOW, and Politico, ruling that President Donald Trump’s ban on the outlets was likely unconstitutional.

U.S. District Judge Timothy J. Kelly, a Trump appointee from 2017 and the same judge who forced the White House to give CNN’s Jim Acosta his pass back in 2018, signed a Temporary Restraining Order in the early hours of Thursday morning.

The outlets only had to post a laughable $1 bond.

The order directs administration officials, excluding President Trump personally, and those acting with them to return and reinstate the affected passes. The order covers credentials revoked on or about September 18.

The Gateway Pundit reported on Wednesday that Judge Kelly appeared skeptical during a hearing on Trump’s media ban.

A lawyer for the outlets accused the Trump Administration of banning the news organizations “completely out of the blue” and urged the judge to immediately restore their access.

“I think it is fair to say that process … wasn’t followed here, talking about predeprivation process,” Judge Kelly said, according to CNBC.

Judge Kelly concluded the hearing without issuing a ruling but said he will rule ‘soon.’

President Trump said he expects to lose the case even though it is assigned to one of his appointees.

“…We’ll go for appeal because Fake News people and publications that only write negatively, and who violate our National Security by writing false and defamatory stories with unknown “sources” shouldn’t be allowed access to the most important Office…” Trump said.

And he is right.

Early Thursday, Kelly’s ruling rests on the outlets’ Fifth Amendment due process claim. He found they were likely to show that their passes were revoked without prior notice or an opportunity to respond, and that the White House had not established clear standards beforehand for conduct that could lead to revocation.

The administration argued that the ban was justified by national security concerns. But Kelly said the record offered little factual support for that claim, including no explanation of how the cited reporting damaged national security or how restoring the passes would endanger it.

The ruling is temporary. The restraining order lasts 14 days while the case continues, and the court plans expedited briefing on whether to issue a preliminary injunction. The order requires the plaintiffs to post a $1 bond by October 1. It does not resolve the full lawsuit or finally decide every claim.

Over the weekend, the Secret Service deactivated the passes and turned reporters away. The three outlets raced to court Monday. 

Kelly made clear he is bound by D.C. Circuit precedent whether he likes the result or not. The White House had argued those older cases were wrongly decided. The judge’s response: “this Court is bound by D.C. Circuit precedent, full stop.”

Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio have both pointed out the screaming hypocrisy. The Biden White House quietly yanked hard passes from more than 440 journalists with barely a peep from the same press corps now screaming “First Amendment emergency.”

Conservative outlets never got the special White House workspace access these three now demand as a constitutional right.

The city of Los Angeles is now reporting an outbreak of the disease Typhus. It is connected to fleas on rats which are flourishing in the city’s numerous homeless encampments.

California has the highest tax rate in the country. Why? What do people get for paying such high taxes? They get preventable diseases because their leaders are worthless.

There’s really no excuse for this at all.

Flea-borne typhus rising in LA County with latest case reported in Wilshire Center

Typhus, a flea-borne bacterial disease, is on the rise in Los Angeles County, with the latest localized case reported in the Wilshire Center neighborhood, public health officials said Tuesday.

The disease is spread to humans by infected fleas that commonly live on rats, opossums, stray cats and other animals. Common symptoms include headaches, chills, muscle aches and rash.

The Wilshire Center case is the second localized typhus outbreak this year, according to the LA County Department of Public Health.

There were at least seven symptomatic cases linked to the outbreak, health officials said. Six of the seven patients had to be hospitalized at one point. All have recovered, the department said.

So far this year, 109 flea-borne typhus cases have been reported in Los Angeles County.

Changes made under Bari Weiss, installed last year as editor in chief, have brought unnecessary scrutiny to news reports, and anchors have made public entreaties on Instagram when people post notes suggesting that Weiss’ background as a digital entrepreneur and provocative opinion writer have muddied the newsgathering at the network.

People don’t seem to have much sympathy.

Just last week, the Gateway Pundit reported that supposed ‘independent’ Nebraska senate candidate Dan Osborn was caught on a hot mic speaking disparagingly about rural voters who may have voted for Trump.

Now we have another such report.

In this case, Osborn was explaining to someone how he has to hide his support for leftist issues like illegal immigration and trans rights so that he can get elected but then he will tell everyone to ‘eff off’ after he wins.

Now, an exclusive video shows Dan Osborn admitting that he’s not only hiding his beliefs from voters — something we’ve known for a while — but that he’ll champion a far-left agenda if he wins the Senate race in November.

These remarks date back to May 25, when Osborn held a townhall in South Omaha. The press was not allowed in the room, but a mother and daughter attended and brought with them a Fairness for Girls petition, which would add protections for girls’ sports in the state constitution.

That measure will be on the ballot in November, but Osborn refused to sign it.

Osborn reportedly told the mother and daughter that the measure was “rooted in hate” and refused to commit to protecting girls’ sports. Local media later corroborated the encounter, and Osborn supporters harassed the mother and daughter until they left the event out of concerns for their safety…

“I can go and I can be the voice for LGBTQ and immigration and all of these issues. Then I lose the election,” Osborn said, reportedly to a transgender supporter. “It feels good in the moment. At the end of the day, I’m gonna win this election. And then I’ll be the Senator for six years and everybody else can f-off.”
