Texas Democrat James Talarico recently bragged about wanting to raie taxes during an event with Jessica Tarlov and Mark Cuban.

He claimed that he wants to raise taxes on ‘the rich’ but as we know, that’s just where Democrats begin. It never ends there.

Once they run out of billionaires and millionaires to tax, or when all of the wealthiest people flee, the working class is the next target because they are the only ones left.

Texas Senate hopeful James Talarico is now openly campaigning on raising Americans’ taxes.

Facing polls indicating his support has topped out and doubts from fellow Democrats who do not believe he has what it takes to excite minority communities, Talarico is now openly campaigning on raising taxes on Americans.

“I’ve told every wealthy person I’ve come across in this race: If you are ok with getting taxed more, if you’re ok with me limiting your influence in politics, you are welcome to join this movement that we are building,” he said, thanking billionaire entrepreneur Mark Cuban for being part of it.

Talarico’s campaign platform includes plans to create what he described as a “fairer” tax system.

“Make giant corporations and the wealthiest Americans pay their fair share of taxes. (That way, we can cut taxes for working families and small businesses,),” he claims – a promise that leftists often make but never deliver on for hardworking Americans. His campaign website claims that he is interested in making “billionaires pay their fair share in taxes,” including “by imposing a higher tax on their income and capital gains and ending the dubious ‘buy, borrow, die’ loopholes that billionaires use to grow untaxed wealth.”

Talarico is doing what all of the Democrats are doing in this election cycle. Trying to appeal to the increasingly radical Democrat base, which wants to confiscate wealth to pay for their liberal utopia.

General Dan Caine has responded to a Democrat lawmaker’s inquiry whether U.S. troops will be deployed to the polls during the upcoming midterms.

Democrat Senator Elissa Slotkin of Michigan recently wrote a letter to General Caine asking him whether the Pentagon plans to deploy troops to the polls this November.

Caine stated, “The Joint Force has no plans to send Federal military personnel or Federalized members of the National Guard to polling places during the 2026 elections.”

The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff added that he does not anticipate to receive any such order.

The highest-ranking officer in the U.S. military says there are no plans to send troops to polling places during November’s midterm congressional elections, addressing concerns among Democrats that the Trump administration could use the military to interfere with the vote.

Gen. Dan Caine, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, made the statement in a letter to Michigan Democratic Sen. Elissa Slotkin, who recently asked Caine and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth to confirm they won’t send troops to the polls.

“The Joint Force has no plans to send Federal military personnel or Federalized members of the National Guard to polling places during the 2026 elections,” Caine said in the letter to Slotkin, which was obtained Monday by The Associated Press. “Likewise, the Joint Force has no plans to use such personnel to seize ballots, voting machines, or other election-related material.”

Caine, who advises Hegseth and President Donald Trump on military matters, also wrote: “I have neither received nor anticipate receiving any unlawful order concerning the role of the Joint Force in the upcoming November 2026 midterm elections.”

Federal law prevents U.S. troops from being deployed at polling stations unless they are ordered to the polls “to repel armed enemies of the United States.”

The Justice Department, however, is deploying federal election monitors.

In an interview with Bloomberg, Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Harmeet Dhillon revealed the DOJ plans to send a record 1,000 federal election monitors to polling stations across the country.

The number of federal monitors is a stark contrast to the Biden DOJ who sent only 289 federal monitors during the 2022 midterms.

Everyone is taught from a young age that there are two things we should be mindful of before we speak: What we say, and how we say it.

I think, after hearing former first lady Michelle Obama talk about the burdens of motherhood, we can decisively add a third leg to this stool: It matters when you say it, too.

For those of you who haven’t been paying attention, Michelle Obama — like every person with a modicum of fame, a microphone, and some free time — is now a podcaster. This seems more like a vanity project, since I’ve never found her “IMO” podcast with her brother Craig Robinson particularly necessary listening except when something goes very wrong. But she’s kept at it, for better or for worse.

And being a former first lady, not to mention someone who repeatedly gets mentioned in potential presidential candidate speculation, she gets big-name guests. In this case, it was Jon Stewart of “The Daily Show,” who talked, lovingly, about missing the routines of fatherhood once his children moved out of the house.

“You obviously miss, you know, the energy and excitement of the kids being around is so incredible,” he said.

Michelle’s response to that?

“I don’t. I love them. I’m going to see them tonight for dinner. I love them,” she said. “But, you know, Barack cried when they went to college. I was like, ‘Bye, goodbye.’

“Now I know Friday nights aren’t wrecked with terror and fear about, ‘Where are you? Where are you?’” she continued. “I love their emancipation and growth.”

Stewart seemed to realize that maybe this didn’t come across so well and tried to save his host: “The thing I miss, though, is the job. Like, don’t you miss—your kids are still in high school, so it’s still a job. Like, it gave a meaning and a pattern to my life.”

Nope: “I’m good,” Michelle said.

She said fathers “can be that way” because mothers — presumably including herself — have more dealings with their children at a young age.

“I mean, I’ve had so much quality time with my children,” she said.

Thus, she said, she now had relief from the drudgery having to have them to worry about.

That’s the “what” and “how” of what Obama said. Now, let’s remember the “when” here:

This is right in the middle of jury deliberations in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial. The Clancy trial should be about whether or not the mother of three meets Massachusetts’ rather lenient not-guilty-by-reason-of-insanity conditions for strangling her children and not whether motherhood is such a burden that certain women have gone to TikTok to say that, you know, they don’t condone what Clancy did but they understand.

But done it they have:

So obviously, during a case where the discussion has become not about the facts but about the extreme “burdens” and “emotional labor” of motherhood — so extreme, in fact, that you might be justified in killing your kids — Michelle Obama either has no TV or social media, or is willing to plant her flag on toxic soil. You can probably guess where my vote is, and the same went for the Daily Wire’s Matt Walsh and SiriusXM producer Steve Krakauer.

“Michelle had only two kids,” Walsh wrote. “She was rich and famous for most of their childhoods so she would have had a fleet of nannies and assistants doing most of the grunt work. And yet she still couldn’t wait for the kids to leave because the minor demands they made on her time and energy were still too much for her. Just a total raging narcissist.”

California Republican Party Delegate and mother Elizabeth Barcohana also told Fox News she found the comments revolting.

“There is a difference between a mother expressing exhaustion from the demands of motherhood — which is real and relatable — and expressing resentment,” Barcohana said. “Resentment is what appears to come through in Michelle Obama’s remarks, and it is especially painful to hear amid the national conversation surrounding the Lindsay Clancy trial.

“She seems happy that her daughters’ childhoods are over. That is not a relatable feeling for most mothers at all.”

But it’s a relatable feeling if you live inside a bubble almost nobody can relate to. As we’ve found out these past couple of weeks, that bubble is a lot bigger than we might have hoped.

California has seen a mass exodus of companies from their state in recent years due to ridiculously high taxes, burdensome regulations, and the draconian lock down policies of Gavin Newsom during Covid-19.

Are they trying to fix any of this in order to retain the businesses that haven’t fled? Nope. In fact, they are about to make things even worse.

California is now planning to force companies to disclose any historic ties to slavery. Is Governor Newsom aware that California never even had slavery?

From the New York Post:

The bill is facing pushback from insurance companies, which argue it largely repeats an earlier California law requiring insurers to disclose past policies issued to slaveholders that covered the death or injury of enslaved people.

New York Life Insurance Company, Aetna Life Insurance Company and American International Group, known as AIG, were among the companies that disclosed ties to enslaved people and slaveholders.

Some reparations advocates have viewed the measure as a significant step forward, while others have questioned how much of an impact it would actually have.

The bill, known as Assembly Bill 2599, would require companies with more than $100 million in annual worldwide sales to search their records for evidence that they, their predecessors or subsidiaries bought or sold enslaved people or provided financial support for those transactions, including through insurance or loans.

The measure would only take effect if the Legislature sets aside funding for it, a requirement added through late amendments.

Once funding is allocated, the California Civil Rights Department would be required to create a digital platform for the disclosures.

With the midterm elections approaching, you would think that Democrats would want to campaign with the last two members of their party to occupy the White House.

Not this time.

Dems running for election in 2026 want absolutely nothing to do with Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. The Gateway Pundit recently reported on how this is happening in Iowa, but it is happening all over the place. Dems are avoiding Biden and Harris like the plague.

ABC News reports:

With less than 70 days until the midterm election, some Democrats running in the most conservative areas are sending a clear message to former President Joe Biden and former Vice President Kamala Harris: stay out of their races.

In Iowa, Democratic Senate nominee state Rep. Josh Turek — who has welcomed the support of former President Barack Obama and has twice won a seat in a district that voted for President Donald Trump — was asked if Harris should campaign for him. He simply said “No.”…

Alaska Democratic Senate nominee Mary Peltola recently distanced herself from Harris after her political action committee backed Peltola in a fundraising email.

“Mary isn’t seeking endorsements from anyone from the Lower 48 — her focus is and always will be Alaska,” Peltola’s campaign told The New York Times.

The blunt rejections, coming within days of each other in two states Trump carried by double digits in 2024, underscore a reality for Democrats: candidates fighting for independent and moderate Republican voters increasingly see the party’s brand and most recent presidential ticket as a liability.

Why would Democrats want to avoid this winning team? Didn’t Biden get 81 million votes in 2020? More than even Obama in 2008?

Ed Morrissey of Hot Air points out that this isn’t even the party’s biggest problem:

The Biden-Harris Hangover isn’t even the worst problem Democrats face in this cycle. It appeared to be their biggest problem at the start of the year, when Jill Biden’s book first drew attention, and the Bidens announced that Joe’s supposed book would soon follow. (It has since been postponed.) The rise of the Democratic Socialists and Senate nominations of its radicals in Florida, Maine, and Michigan, as well in House and gubernatorial races in Wisconsin, Oklahoma, and New York have created much heavier baggage in red and purple states. The GOP is teeing up an Akin strategy for its midterm convention next week in Dallas to paint the entire party as radical revolutionaries.

At this point, you have to wonder if Biden and Harris will even be invited to the 2028 Democrat convention.

New footage shows the moment that FBI agents swarmed former Democrat Rep. Eric Swalwell and seized his electronics at San Francisco International Airport earlier this month.

Federal agents seized Swalwell’s iPhone and MacBook Pro laptop as part of an investigation into allegations of sexual assault.

Swalwell was dressed in a hoodie as agents approached him after deplaning. He was not arrested.

In April, the Justice Department launched an investigation into allegations of sexual assault against Swalwell.

Eric Swalwell resigned from Congress and dropped out of the California governor’s race due to the sexual assault allegations earlier this year.

At least five women have come forward alleging they were sexually assaulted by Swalwell.

One Swalwell accuser came forward and spoke at press conference in Beverly Hills in April.

The 5th Swalwell accuser to come forward, Lonna Drews, is represented by attorney Lisa Bloom.

“I represent a brave Eric Swalwell accuser. Her disturbing story is forthcoming. We call upon him to resign from Congress and the governor’s race, and we will cooperate with authorities in their investigation,” Lisa Bloom (Gloria Allred’s daughter) said on the evening before the press conference.

Lisa Bloom also disclosed that three other women have contacted her with accusations against Eric Swalwell.

Lonna Drews recounted how Eric Swalwell drugged and raped her in 2018 and choked her to the point of unconsciousness in a West Hollywood hotel room.

“In 2018, while I was living and working as a model in Beverly Hills, and I also owned a fashion software company, I had contact with Eric Swalwell on three separate occasions,” the alleged sexual assault victim, Lonna Drews, said.

“I knew he was married at the time and that his wife was pregnant. He was my friend. On the third occasion, I believe he drugged my drink,” she said.

Lonna Drews said Swalwell drugged her drink and violently raped her.

“He raped me, and he choked me. And while he was choking me, I lost consciousness. And I thought I died. I did not consent to any sexual activity,” she said through tears.

“I would never have engaged in a consensual sexual encounter with Eric Swalwell,” she said.

Following Lonna Drews’ presser, the Los Angeles DA opened an investigation into Swalwell.

Swalwell is also under investigation by the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office after a former staffer came forward to CNN and said the California Democrat raped her in 2024.

The Swalwell staffer said she was sexually assaulted by Swalwell in 2019.

The staffer also said Swalwell raped her in 2024, years after she left his employment.
