Kentucky Releases Child Killer AGAIN, Father of Slain Six-Year-Old Logan Tipton Says It May Be His Breaking Point
August 1, 2026

The father of a six-year-old Kentucky boy stabbed to death in his own bed is publicly breaking down after the man who did it was released from prison for the second time, this time with no supervision.

Dean Tipton took to Facebook on Wednesday and wrote that the killer of his son Logan being released again may be his breaking point.

Tipton wrote that the justice system handed his family a life sentence while giving the killer, Ronald Exantus, a slap on the wrist.

Exantus broke into the Tipton family’s Versailles home on December 7, 2015, stabbed Logan Tipton to death as he slept and also attacked Dean and Logan’s sisters. He did not know the family prior to the attack.

The deranged murderer walked free from the Kentucky State Reformatory last week after completing an adjusted sentence.

In 2018, a jury found Exantus not guilty by reason of insanity on the murder and first-degree burglary charges related to Logan’s death, citing his schizophrenia, while convicting him of being guilty but mentally ill on assault charges against the other family members.

Exantus received a 20-year sentence on those assault counts.

Through good-time credits, program completions including a GED, and Kentucky’s mandatory reentry supervision rules, Exantus was first released in October, after serving roughly half the term.

Within two weeks, he was re-arrested in Florida for failing to register as a convicted felon, received additional time, and was eventually returned to complete the remainder of his Kentucky sentence.

On July 29, he was released again with no parole or supervision requirements after officials determined he had reached his adjusted serve-out date.

A request for involuntary hospitalization was denied.

The day Exantus was released, Dean Tipton wrote on Facebook, “The judge and jury gave this monster a slap on the wrist while handing down a life sentence to my family.”

In a subsequent post, he added:

Trying really hard to not let this break me….Ive carried so much over the years since Logan going to be with our Lord. I have woke up everyday, put on my fake ass smile and have carried on with life and literally living through hell. Today though im having a hard time trying to figure out how to go on with life. Knowing that this monster gets to walk free and live his life, while I lay in this bed and my baby boy is in the grave. This may be my breaking point…

The comments were filled with messages of support.

The still-grief-stricken father also shared videos and images of his little boy.

As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, the father has previously said he would kill Exantus if their paths ever crossed.

Kentucky State Representative TJ Roberts, a Republican who helped pass “Logan’s Law,” House Bill 422, to tighten rules on mental-health defenses and sentencing in similar cases, also condemned the latest release, noting that Exantus had reoffended after his first early release and received only a short additional term before being freed again despite opportunities to hold him in a mental facility.

In a post on X, Roberts wrote:

Once again, Kentucky’s Judiciary has failed the Tipton family.

A monster who does not deserve to be named broke into a house, stabbed and killed a 6-year-old boy named Logan Tipton, and assaulted and injured his sisters and father. Last year, this monster was released from jail due to Kentucky’s mandatory reentry supervision program. He reoffended, and got a pathetic 9 additional months. He is being released today despite the opportunity to hold him in a mental facility.

The monster should spend the rest of his life in prison for the murder of 6-year-old Logan Tipton, and his release is a gross miscarriage of justice. I was honored to work with the Tipton Family to pass Logan’s Law to ensure something like this never happens again, but there is so much more work to be done.

Please pray for and support the Tiptons, and pray for the safety of anyone who crosses paths with this child killer who will now be free to walk our streets. The Tiptons, all of Kentucky, and all of America deserve so much better than this government offers to the innocent.

Exantus is now free and could kill again.

Pray for the Tiptons.
