Treasury Secretary Bessent Says He Told Bill Pulte He Was Going to Kick His A** (VIDEO)
June 3, 2026

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent on Wednesday testified before the Senate Finance Committee on the Trump Administration’s 2027 budget.
During the hearing, RINO Senator Thom Tillis asked Bessent about his previous dustup with federal housing regulator Bill Pulte.
President Trump this week announced he appointed Pulte to serve as the Acting Director of National Intelligence.
“I am appointing the Director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, and Chairman of Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac, William J. Pulte, to serve as Acting Director of National Intelligence,” Trump said.
“William has deep experience managing the most sensitive matters in America, the safety and soundness of the Markets, and over 10 Trillion Dollars at Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac, a substantial increase from where it was just 12 months ago. During this period, he will remain Director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, and Chairman of Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac. Congratulations to Director Pulte!” he added.
Tillis used Wednesday’s hearing as an opportunity to zing Pulte and try to humiliate Bessent.
“Did you actually tell Bill Pulte you were going to punch him in the face?” Tillis asked Bessent.
“No sir, I actually said I was going to kick his ass,” Bessent said with a smile.
“Good, okay,” Tillis said. “Good, I share the emotion. Thank you.”
“And as I said, that was last summer. Summer of ’25 and many teams have fights in the locker room and then go out and win for the team,” Bessent said.
“I had a very good exchange with the director yesterday, want to keep the momentum going on EPIC,” Bessent added.
Tillis used this as an opportunity to trash Pulte and let everyone know that he isn’t going to support him for DNI.
