The Trump Admin’s Office of Personnel Management fired off a snarky email to CNN inquiring about records related to security clearances of Elon Musk and his DOGE workers.

Trump’s OPM responded to CNN with a savage email basically saying, ‘Good luck because we fired the entire privacy team.’

“Good luck with that, they just fired the whole privacy team,” an email from OPM said in response to CNN’s FOIA request.

The Office of Personnel Management covers three main categories, according to its website:

• We set and enforce the background-check processes that determine individuals’ fitness to serve in the federal workforce.
• We provide human resources policies, services, and oversight to federal agencies, so they can hire and manage their workforces effectively.
• We develop and administer quality, cost-effective employee benefits programs, including the federal retiree pension program.

CNN reported:

The Trump administration has quietly fired multiple members of the “privacy team” and other officials from the office that oversees the hiring of federal workers, a move that limits outside access to government records related to the security clearances granted to Elon Musk and his associates, according to multiple sources familiar with the matter.

CNN was first notified of the firings at the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) in response to a freedom of information act request for records related to the security clearances of Musk and anyone from the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) who has been granted access to sensitive or classified government networks.

In addition to the privacy team, members of OPM’s communications staff and employees who handle FOIA requests were also fired, two sources familiar with the matter told CNN.

Some of the firings are not set to take effect until April 15, one of the sources added.

Asked about the firings, an OPM official told CNN that the agency did not lay off the entire privacy team but declined to comment further.

It has been all hands on deck to stop Elon Musk and DOGE as the team works to cut wasteful spending and expose government fraud.

As he reached the lectern, Hamill appeared to struggle with his trousers, which embarrassingly slid down mid-sentence, forcing the actor to hastily yank them back up.

According to The Sun, front-row guests like Timothée Chalamet, Ariana Grande, and Adrien Brody had a clear view of the fiasco, with some looking “horrified” while others opted to politely ignore the spectacle.

Hamill desperately tried to play it off, finishing his sentence about “immersive cinematic landscapes” as though he hadn’t just flashed the audience with an impromptu pants drop.

This is the same Mark Hamill who spends his free time ranting against conservatives, MAGA voters, and President Trump on social media, spewing the same tired leftist drivel that Hollywood forces down America’s throat. Maybe the force of karma was too strong this time.

60 Minutes aired a segment about a sad young mother Kristina Drye who was fired from USAID in Washington DC this month.

But this was a complete lie.

Kristina Drye does not work for USAID. She works for XLA and Jefferson Partners, a company that provides speechwriting services for USAID.

One feature of a classic movie or series is that, though it’s a work of fiction, it carries elements that make it ‘true’ in a deeper sense.

In the classic The Sopranos series, David Chase created a cast of characters that entertained and shocked us and provided sharp commentary about American society and American families.

There’s also a dimension of a ‘clash of generations’, mostly portrayed in mob boss’ Tony Soprano’s (James Gandolfini) love-hate relationship with his lazy, addicted and unfocused nephew Christopher Moltisanti.

However, the complaint about the declining standards was not limited to his immediate blood relatives but also to his other criminal ‘family’.

It was Irish writer and playwright Oscar Wilde that said that ‘life often imitates art’, and this seems to be the case here.

It arose this week that Mafia Capos in Sicily were caught on wiretaps complaining about the ‘miserable caliber’ of new recruits.

The wiretaps were released after nearly 150 alleged criminals were arrested in raids that involved 1,200 police officers.

In the recordings, the Cosa Nostra bosses unfavorably compared the new generation of mafiosi to the past generations.

The Telegraph reported:

“They said that, unlike their predecessors, new recruits were too quick to turn ‘pentito’ – or state witness – as soon as they were arrested. ‘The caliber these days is low, a miserable level’, Giancarlo Romano, an alleged mafia don, said in an intercepted conversation.”

That’s the exact same complaint as Soprano’s. But if you still think my opening comparison with The Sopranos series was silly, just check out Romano invoking the example of 1972 film The Godfather, by commenting on fictional character Don Vito Corleone.

“’If you watch The Godfather, the connections he had… he was very influential because of the power that he built at a political level. But us – what can we do? We’re on our knees, guys. We think we do business, but these days it’s others who do it. We used to be number one, now it’s others… we’re just gypsies’. He told one young recruit: ‘You should go to school – that way you will meet doctors, lawyers, the people who run Italy, Europe’.”

In the largest anti-mafia operation in 40 years, 1,200 armed Carabinieri officers conducted early morning raids in and around Palermo, Sicily’s capital.

“One of the police units involved was the Cacciatori, meaning hunters, anti-mafia commandos who are deployed from helicopters and wear red berets similar to those of Britain’s Parachute Regiment.

Prosecutors said the raids had dealt a major blow to attempts by Cosa Nostra bosses to rebuild and reorganize ‘la cupola’, a central mafia commission that mediates between rival clans and settles disputes.”
