Some institutions would improve merely by scrapping them and starting fresh.

The federal government leaps to mind, as does the American public school system.

According to Fox News, the family of an accomplished Christian student, denied graduation over her refusal to take what they described as an “LGBTQ+ affirming” and “religiously discriminatory” health course mandated by the Montgomery County Board of Education in overwhelmingly liberal Montgomery County, Maryland, has filed a petition with the Maryland Supreme Court in hopes of bringing relief to their daughter as her senior year in high school approaches its conclusion.

The student, referred to by the outlet as “Jane,” has amassed a 4.76 weighted GPA. She also scored a 1450 (96 percentile) on the SAT.

In liberal Maryland, however — speaking of places that would improve by starting fresh — that academic record apparently counts for little. Only by genuflecting at the altar of wokeness may a student matriculate.

In the 2024 election, former Vice President Kamala Harris won more than 75 percent of the vote in Montgomery County.

Harris lost, of course, but bitter liberals continue to hold Jane’s future hostage.

“She’s pretty distraught about not being able to graduate with all her friends and experience that rite of passage,” Jane’s father said.

The controversy began in 2022, when Jane’s parents learned that their daughter’s required health class, unlike in previous years, would include LGBT content throughout the entire year-long course, as opposed to limiting that content to the course’s Family Life and Human Sexuality unit.

The parents objected.

They further objected when they discovered that alleged teacher-training documents, consistent with the Maoist practice that dominates much of modern education, identified “privileged” and “oppressed” groups, with Christians, of course, falling under the “privileged” category.

Funny how no one in Montgomery County seems to recognize the irony. Jane, “privileged” due to her Christian beliefs, apparently cannot graduate due to her Christian beliefs.

All efforts to resolve the dispute through alternative courses have failed.

Moreover, Jane’s parents did not object to the LGBT content in the Family Life and Sexuality unit. They objected to its inclusion throughout the year-long course.

“We are trying to get MCPS to keep that teaching restricted to the Family Life and Human Sexuality part of the curriculum so we can get notice of it and opt-out our daughter, or if MCPS is allowed to spread LGBTQ+ instruction throughout the entire health class, as its teacher instruction materials say it is doing, it follows that MCPS should allow us to opt-out our daughter from the entire class” they wrote in a March 2024 letter to the Maryland State Board of Education. “We are trying to get MCPS to refrain from discriminating against religion.”

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court has already begun hearing arguments in a separate religious liberty case involving Montgomery County.

In the short run, of course, one hopes that Jane will find the relief she very obviously deserves. Denying an accomplished young student graduation over a rinky-dink health course would qualify as maddening even in the absence of the religious liberty issue. With that issue added to the equation, the graduation denial amounts to tyranny.

In the long run, however, the solution involves scrapping the entire public school system. Keep the public funding, but destroy every current institution that gorges itself on taxpayer dollars. Eliminate the entire certification racket, along with state departments and university colleges of Education.

Tear it all out by the roots. Then plant the seeds of a new system that serves students rather than woke ideology.

Conservative, Anti Globalist and Euro-skeptic, George Simion is the nightmare of the Romanian establishment, as his lead in the runup to May presidential election is set to nullify all the bad work against Calin Georgescu, who won the first round of vote that was criminally canceled for unproven Russian infiltration.

Simion is riding the wave of anger stirred by the Georgescu cancelation, and has floated making him his Prime Minister if elected.

Reuters reported:

“NATO and European Union member Romania looked poised to swing towards Russia after far-right newcomer Calin Georgescu topped the first round of voting last November, but the country’s top court cancelled the election because of suspicions of Russian meddling. Moscow denied the allegations.”

The Reuters report has ‘political analysts’ saying Simion ‘would risk isolating Romania abroad’, because je wants to have a close relationship with US President Donald J. Trump.

“He is campaigning on a ‘Romania first’ ticket, advocating conservative policies, euroscepticism and close alignment with the U.S. MAGA movement.

‘I believe that just as MAGA won power in the United States, so too the Make Europe Great Again movement will have a majority in European institutions’, Simion, 38, said during a recent conference.

‘I do not doubt that anywhere in the free world the wind is that of change and of returning to common sense. The ‘woke’ madness has gone too far’.”

Simion came fourth in the ‘canceled first round’ of the presidential election, but inheriting the Georgescu vote, he leads opinion polls with 35% support.

“If elected, Simion has said he will make public ‘how much we contributed to the war effort in Ukraine to the detriment of subsidies for Romanian children and pensions for our elderly’.

[…] [His] six-year-old AUR [party] has grown from a fringe anti-vaccination group during the COVID pandemic to be the leading opposition force. It appeals to the working-class diaspora and young voters, and has built on popular anger with mainstream politicians.”

A St. Lucie County, Florida judge who oversees substance abuse cases in the state’s 19th Circuit Court, was arrested for driving under the influence and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Judge Brett Waronicki, 46, was pulled over in Jensen Beach this week after an officer observed him swerving in and out of lanes.

As Waronicki was driving his Ford F-150, he failed to “to maintain a single lane and was striking the fog line multiple times,” according to the arrest affidavit.

According to the arrest report, “When speaking with Waronicki, (a detective) observed him to have bloodshot watery eyes, slurred speech, and the odor of an unknown alcoholic beverage emitting from his breath.”

WPTV reported that police received a tip about alleged drug activity involving Judge Waronicki a few weeks ago.

The Martin County Sheriff’s undercover Narcotics unit was investigating Waronicki for weeks before the arrest.

A canine was brought out to search the F-150 truck and a subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the judge being in possession of what appeared to be cocaine residue in his wallet.

Two other passengers in the vehicle were cited for possession of cocaine.

Judge Waronicki refused a field sobriety test and refused a breathalyzer because he said he did nothing wrong.

A Treasure Coast judge is facing charges after he was arrested Wednesday night in Martin County.

The Martin County Sheriff’s Office said that 19th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida Judge Brett Waronicki was one of the three people arrested in a traffic stop in Jensen Beach.

Waronicki, 46, faces charges of possession of paraphernalia and DUI refusal, the sheriff’s office said.

The county’s public information officer said Waronicki was the driver of the vehicle when it was pulled over at 10:41 p.m. at Northwest Jensen Beach Boulevard and Northwest Royal Oak Drive.

A probable cause affidavit said law enforcement pulled over Waronicki after the Ford F-150 he was driving failed “to maintain a single lane and was striking the fog line multiple times.”

A federal judge in West Texas halted the deportation of suspected Tren de Aragua gang members under the Alien Enemies Act.

US District Judge David Briones, a Clinton appointee, on Friday ordered the release of two suspected TdA members. The judge admonished DOJ lawyers and said they “have not demonstrated they have any lawful basis” to keep the couple detained.

The couple, Julio Cesar Sanchez Puentes and Luddis Norelia Sanchez Garcia, arrived in the US from Mexico in 2022 and were granted temporary protected status (TPS) by the Biden Regime. President Trump terminated the TPS program, and the couple was arrested earlier this month at the El Paso airport.

“There is no doubt the Executive Branch’s unprecedented peacetime use of wartime power has caused chaos and uncertainty for individual petitions as well as the judicial branch in how to manage and evaluate the Executive’s claims of Tren de Aragua membership, and the invocation of the Alien Enemies Act as a whole,” Judge Briones wrote, according to The Associated Press.

Judge Briones’ ruling applies to all illegal aliens facing deportation under the Alien Enemies Act in his Texas judicial district.

Other federal judges in New York, Colorado, and South Texas have issued similar rulings.

A federal judge in west Texas joined other courts in temporarily blocking the deportations of Venezuelan immigrants under an 18th-century wartime law known as the Alien Enemies Act.

U.S. District Judge David Briones in El Paso, Texas, issued the ruling Friday while he ordered the release of a couple accused of being members of a Venezuelan criminal gang. Briones wrote that government lawyers “have not demonstrated they have any lawful basis” to continue detaining the couple on a suspected alien enemy violation.

The couple is accused of being part of Tren de Aragua, which the Trump administration has designated a foreign terrorist organization. Trump has invoked the Alien Enemies Act from 1798 that lets the president deport noncitizens 14 years or older who are from a country with which the U.S. is at war.
