A man who silently robbed Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem inside a Washington, DC restaurant has reportedly been arrested.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, a masked man snatched Noem’s Gucci bag while she dined at a restaurant with her children and grandchildren in high-crime Washington, DC, on Easter Sunday.

The thief took off with the purse, which included $3,000 in cash, her passport, apartment keys, DHS badge, and other valuables. The bag reportedly contained a $600 Louis Vuitton Clemence Purse.

Secretary Noem recently spoke out on the incident on the “VINCE Show,” where she said, “It was very professionally done.”

“It tells that this happens all the time to people and that they live in communities where this is a danger, and it reaffirms why I am here,” she added, emphasizing her commitment to make communities safer as Homeland Security Secretary.

Now, the masked man has been apprehended and may have a court date as soon as this coming week.

Per New York Post:

The suspect’s identity was not immediately available. The perp is expected to appear in court early next week, sources said.

The bag, available for $4,400 per the label’s website, was on the ground at the former South Dakota governor’s table when it was taken, according to a complaint filed with local police.

Security footage captured a white man in a N95 surgical mask, dark pants, a “fur-type” collar and a ball cap lift the DHS honcho’s bag before leaving the restaurant located about a mile from the White House.

The suspect glanced around the restaurant before grabbing Noem’s bag, covering it with his jacket and then hustling out of the restaurant, according to sources who described the video.

Further details on the suspect's identity and arrest have not been released yet.

Developing countries should move quickly to secure trade agreements with the United States, the president of the World Bank has warned.

Speaking with Agence France Press after a week of high-level meetings with global financial leaders in Washington, Ajay Banga urged nations to finalize deals with the U.S. “at the earliest possible opportunity” to help shore up the global economy.

Banga added World Bank has been advising developing nations to prioritize agreements with Washington before turning their focus toward lowering trade barriers and strengthening regional commerce.

“You need to negotiate trade systems with the US at the earliest possible [opportunity],” he said. “If you delay, it hurts everyone.”

Since taking office in January, President Trump has imposed a range of tariffs on countries around the world, including a baseline 10 percent tariff on everyone.

Banga also responded to criticism from U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent earlier this week over China’s “absurd” classification as a developing country.

Bessent went on to urge both Banga and IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva to “prove themselves” and win the Trump administration’s trust.

“I don’t think he’s wrong,” Banga said of Bessent’s comments on China.

“A country that is the size of China and the capability of China, at some point, should no longer be taking money from IBRD.”

“My view is, I’ve brought it down to $750 million, and I’m trying to figure out a way to deal with China to bring it down further,” he continued.

“I want to get it done. And that’s what I’m talking to the Chinese about.”

An Indian-American businessman, Banga became president of the World Bank in June 2023 after being nominated by Joe Biden.

Before taking the role, he served as CEO of Mastercard, where he was credited with expanding the company’s reach in emerging markets.

Last year, it was reported that the bank had “misplaced” up to $41 billion in funds as a resulte of “poor record keeping.”

Sanctuary State Governor JB Pritzker of Illinois has directed state agencies to take actions against the country of El Salvador in hopes of influencing the release of Kilmar Garcia Abrego, a deported MS-13 terrorist who was living illegally in Maryland.

“The United States Constitution guarantees due process. We are witnessing Donald Trump erode our fundamental Constitutional rights in real time, and we must fight to restore the balance of power,” he reportedly said. “The State of Illinois will stand up for the Rule of Law and do everything in our power [to] stop the Trump Administration from ripping apart our most basic rights.”

The Gateway Pundit has reported extensively on the controversy over Garcia Abrego’s deportation and far-left politicians’ attempts to smuggle him back into the United States.

The MS-13 member was deported and returned to his home country by the Trump Administration over his ties to MS-13, which President Trump has designated a foreign terrorist organization.

However, the Democrats and leftist media describe the El Salvadoran illegal and gangster as a “Maryland man” and “father of three,” who was wrongfully deported after a judge previously protected him from deportation when he was arrested in 2019, citing alleged safety concerns if he returned to his home country.

The order blocking his deportation was granted before President Trump designated him as a foreign terrorist, making him “no longer eligible for any form of immigration relief in the United States,” says White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller.

When he was arrested in 2019, he was with two other members of MS-13, and he was known by investigators to be affiliated with the gang, but the judge still allowed him to stay in the country illegally. He was further detained in December 2022 and accused of engaging in human trafficking by a Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) officer. Still, the FBI ordered his release.

Additionally, as The Gateway Pundit reported, Abrego Garcia’s wife, Jennifer Vasquez, previously petitioned the court for two different protective orders against Garcia for domestic violence. According to a 2021 order of protection, Garcia Abrego punched Vasquez, ripped off her shirt, grabbed, and bruised her.

This hasn’t stopped radical Democrats from glorifying him and attempting to rescue him from El Salvador’s CECOT prison.

Inspired by Democratic Maryland Senator Chris Van Hollen’s visit to El Salvador earlier this month, where he met and shared margaritas with Garcia Abrego, several House Members traveled to El Salvador to demand his release. Reps. Robert Garcia (CA), Maxwell Frost (FL), Yassamin Ansari (AZ), and Maxine Dexter (OR) traveled to El Salvador on Monday to try to facilitate the release of Abrego Garcia, but they were promptly denied.

Now, Pritzker is asking state agencies to boycott and divest from companies controlled by El Salvador, cancel state contracts with Salvadorian companies, and analyze trade between Illinois and the country.

Per WGN TV:

Pritzker has asked the Illinois State Board of Investment, the State Universities Retirement System, and the Teachers’ Retirement System to review any investments in companies controlled by El Salvador, with the purpose of withholding investments in those companies.

The Governor is also directing the Illinois Department of Central Management Services to identify state contracts with companies that are controlled by El Salvador, with the purpose of stopping them.

And, Pritzker wants the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity Office of Trade and Investment to send in an analysis of the scale of trade El Salvador has with Illinois.

The action comes as the outspoken Illinois governor positions himself in global affairs, which have included signing trade agreements with the State of Mexico and the United Kingdom, efforts that critics say point to a possible 2028 presidential run.

President Trump has kept his promise to crack down on illegal aliens in the US and is working hard to deport as many as possible. He has been battling lawfare from activist judges trying to stop his efforts. Even with those hurdles, ICE is working hard to make our country safer.

Bill Melugin of Fox News reported on “Operation Tidal Wave,” which is a joint effort of ICE and local law enforcement agencies in the State of Florida working together to arrest illegal aliens this week. Within the first four days, approximately 800 illegals have been arrested. Many of them are gang members, killers and terrorists.

Included in the list was an illegal alien from Colombia who was convicted of homicide in his home country. Jose Sanchez Reyes entered the US illegally and was considered a “gotaway.”

Another man, Rafael Juarez Cabrera, an illegal alien and MS-13 gang member from Guatemala, was arrested. He had entered the US illegally three times and was charged with felony re-entry.

The list continues with an illegal from Russia, Savva Klishchevskii, who has a notice from Interpol for vehicular manslaughter in Russia.

In addition, there was another illegal immigrant from Honduras, Aron Isaak Morazan-Izaguirre, who is believed to be a member of the 18th Street gang involved in terrorist activities. He is on record as having entered the US illegally twice.

Florida has been an example of cooperation when it comes to Federal and local law enforcement working together to arrest illegals, many of whom have final orders for deportation.

There have been numerous States that refuse to cooperate with ICE and deportations, with some even obstructing the process. A recent example is Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers, who issued guidelines to State employees to help illegal aliens avoid ICE officials.

The DOJ is cracking down on those who have been aiding illegal aliens. Two judges were taken into custody, one from New Mexico and the other from Wisconsin.

The rule of law is back.

Joe and Jill Biden traveled to Rome to attend the funeral of Pope Francis at the Vatican on Saturday morning.

The funeral service for Pope Francis was held at St. Peter’s in Rome on Saturday as world leaders gathered.

Pope Francis died at the age of 88 in his residence at Casa Santa Marta.

Pope Francis’ death certificate, released by the Vatican, stated that he passed away in his residence due to a cerebral stroke, followed by coma and irreversible cardiocirculatory collapse.
