“Help us Lord Jesus” was our constant prayer throughout the Moebye battle,” wrote David Eubank, head of Free Burma Rangers, a faith-based aid mission working on the frontlines of Burma’s war for over twenty years. “Mortars and 105mm howitzers fired repeatedly at our casualty collection point (CCP). The speed and sound of the cannon firing and the boom of impact gave no warning.”

Airstrikes can sometimes be anticipated by the pitch change in a diving plane. Mortars follow a looping trajectory—harder to track—but, “you can sometimes hear it being fired and then have a few seconds before it impacts.” Howitzers are different. “The firing and impact of a howitzer is almost instantaneous and devastating.” The medics were left exposed to superior firepower that killed indiscriminately, civilians, women, children, the wounded, and even medics. “We could do nothing but pray and get as low as we could.”

“We set up our casualty collection point (CCP) in a concrete building and got down whenever the rounds came in, shrapnel slammed into our building, but we were protected. We thanked God throughout the day,” Eubank wrote.

Moebye lies on the edge of the mountains, with rice fields to the east, Pekon Lake to the north, and the serene Balu River running nearby. “But there’s no peace now. The Burma military has hammered Moebye for four years, with multiple massacres of villagers before everyone fled.”

The town resembles any small American community, two-story homes, front yards, iron gates, neat blocks. The Karenni people are mostly Catholic, so churches are everywhere. Today, it’s a ghost town. Homes are abandoned, churches riddled with machine-gun fire or destroyed by artillery, and yards heavily mined.

Moebye sits at a strategic crossroads between southern Shan State and northern Karenni State. It’s a vital supply route for both regions and has changed hands multiple times since the 2021 coup. Junta forces seized it early, turning schools and churches into military command centers. They massacred large numbers of civilians while forcing the rest to flee.

The resistance has retaken parts of the town several times, but the junta has launched repeated counteroffensives. Earlier this year, resistance forces, primarily the Karenni Nationalities Defense Force (KNDF), won a stunning victory, reclaiming about 80% of the town. The cost was high, with many lives lost on both sides. Tragically, the resistance had to retreat just days later after running out of ammunition.

While the junta enjoys a steady supply of weapons from China and Russia, the resistance must smuggle munitions into the country, a slow, expensive, and illegal process under the laws of neighboring nations. Shipments are often seized before reaching the front. It’s not uncommon for fighters to go into battle with as few as 20 rounds. In extreme cases, multiple soldiers share a single weapon.

The junta’s unrestricted access to munitions, aircraft, artillery, and jet fuel underscores the failure of the UN and other international organizations. Burma is under strict sanctions, yet the world allows China and Russia to keep supplying the generals who are slaughtering their own people.

According to Eubank, “Just south of Moebye, almost the entire population of 350,000 Karenni have been displaced, along with thousands of southern Shan families.” He said that during his team’s first week in the area, more than 12,000 people were newly displaced in a single day by Burma military attacks northeast of Moebye.

The Free Burma Rangers provided medical support, setting up a casualty collection point and evacuating the wounded from the front lines. “Normally, that means running through gunfire, dragging the patient to a road, if there is one, and transferring them into a vehicle,” Eubank explained. But the junta deliberately targets both the wounded and the medics. “Roads near the front lines are usually heavily hit by mortars and airstrikes because the Burma military knows what the evacuation routes are.”

This time, the team had one armored vehicle, the only one they have in all of Burma. “It’s been hit multiple times by mortars as well as rifle and machine gun fire,” Eubank wrote. “Each time, the armor has protected the wounded and medics inside.”

Eubank described how the Free Burma Rangers organized medical operations during the Moebye battle: “We divided into three elements. One was with the armored vehicle in the front, going to pick up casualties at the point of injury. We dismount and move on foot to bring the wounded back to the vehicle.” The vehicle then transports the wounded to a transfer point, where other vehicles with medics are waiting. “The transfer team drives the wounded to our casualty collection point (CCP), where our doctor and medics do the best they can to save them.”

Once stabilized at the CCP, patients are taken to the nearest hospital, often a full day’s drive away. The entire process, from front-line rescue to hospital transfer, was carried out by a small but dedicated team of nurses, medics, and one doctor, all working under constant threat.

The battle lasted five days, leaving 58 wounded and seven dead. Still, the resistance succeeded in holding the Burma Army back from the strategic crossroads.

During two brief lulls, part of the team conducted Good Life Club (GLC) programs for displaced families, bringing music, stories, and prayer to children under fire. “What a contrast,” wrote Eubank, “to be singing and dancing within the sound of mortars landing, but to be filled with genuine joy to be together and to be alive.”

One especially moving moment came when the team was invited to hold a program inside a Buddhist monastery, hidden from aircraft. A large Buddha statue stood in the main hall where they set up. Though most of the displaced were Buddhist, they welcomed the Christian team warmly. Karen, David’s wife, led songs and laughter, then shared about the saving power of Jesus. The group sang “Our God is a Great, Great God” together.

“I could feel God’s presence of love and power there,” Eubank wrote, describing how people of different faiths—Buddhist, Christian, and animist—were united by love.

“In the battle we are in now,” Eubank added, “we already have over 100 wounded and 15 dead—and it continues. As long as God leads us, we will keep going. Thank you for your prayers during the Moebye battle.”

A spokesperson for the family of teen killer Karmelo Anthony has described his trial as a “fight against white supremacy.”

Anthony is accused of brutally stabbed 16-year-old track and football star Austin Metcalf during a championship track meet at Kuykendall Stadium in Frisco, Texas.

Metcalf, a junior at Frisco Memorial High School, was attacked in broad daylight and died shortly afterward.

Anthony, an 18-year-old from rival school Frisco Centennial, was charged earlier this week with first-degree murder and faces up to life in prison.

Let me be honest: It’s easy to go on social media and give an opinion. It’s easy to post without facts. And sadly, even some people who claimed to be supporters have shared misinformation — not always with bad intent, but still harmful.

This case involves multiple minors and sensitive details that I cannot and will not speak about publicly. That is why, from the beginning, I have refused to let this be tried in the court of public opinion.

There will be a trial. There will be a courtroom. And NGAN is committed to making sure Karmelo receives a fair trial — free from lies, outside interference, and bigotry.

To the racists, the bigots, and those filled with hate who’ve targeted Karmelo, his family, and even myself — you do not intimidate us. We are not backing down.

This case is yet another example of what it means to be Black in America, where even our self-defense is questioned, scrutinized, and politicized.

It is not the first time that Alexander has made absurd and provocative comments.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth received an opportunity to put arguably the most despicable Pentagon reporter in her place today, and it was a sight to behold.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, Hegseth delivered a masterclass performance during a Pentagon press conference on Thursday, in which he tore into their slanderous coverage of U.S. strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities. Reporters immediately sought to play down the significance of the strikes and accused the Trump administration of exaggerating the accomplishment.

Even more absurdly, the top takeaways some reporters, including leftist Fox News Jennifer Griffin, was Hegseth supposedly disrespecting females by saying, “Our boys on those bombers.”

After the briefing, Griffin posted, “Defense Secretary Hegseth: ‘We were able to destroy nuclear capabilities. And OUR BOYS in those bombers are on their way home right now.” Fox News has learned that at least one of the B-2 pilots who took part in the Iran mission was female.”

“Do you have certainty that all the highly enriched uranium was inside the Fordow mountain?” she inquired. “There were satellite photos that showed more than a dozen trucks more than two days in advance. Are you certain that none of that highly enriched uranium was moved?”

“Of course, we’re watching every single aspect,” Hegseth replied. “But Jennifer, you’ve been about the worst, the one who misrepresents the most intentionally what the president says.”

To think these two were once colleagues.

A shaken Griffin promptly took issue with Hegseth’s comment and started trying to justify her so-called reporting during the raid. Hegseth, though, did not back down.

Instead, he closed the exchange with a blunt and quick-witted response when she tried to interrupt him again.

“I appreciate you acknowledging the most successful mission based on operational security that this department has done since you’ve been here,” he quipped.

Trump later responded to Griffin’s silly question on Truth Social as well.

“The cars and small trucks at the site were those of concrete workers trying to cover up the top of the shafts. Nothing was taken out of facility. Would take too long, too dangerous, and very heavy and hard to move!” Trump wrote.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth delivered a masterclass performance during a Pentagon press conference on Thursday, in which he tore into their slanderous coverage of U.S. strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities. And someone should pour one out for one reporter who tried to lecture him on his language following the mission.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, President Trump on Saturday evening announced that the US had dropped bombs on three nuclear sites in Iran.

During the raid, Trump sent multiple decoy bomber aircraft out west over the Pacific Ocean to trick the Iranians. The decoys stopped in Hawaii for a refuel, and people thought the planes were just too far away to be able to attack Iran today.

Out of all the takeaways from Saturday and Sunday, the concern of some reporters, including leftist Fox News’ Jennifer Griffin, was Hegseth supposedly disrespecting females by saying, “Our boys on those bombers.”

After the briefing, Griffin posted, “Defense Secretary Hegseth: ‘We were able to destroy nuclear capabilities. And OUR BOYS in those bombers are on their way home right now.” Fox News has learned that at least one of the B.2 pilots who took part in the Iran mission was female.”

“Why didn’t you acknowledge the female pilots that also participated in this mission?” the reporter whined. “The early messages that you sent out only congratulated the boys.”

Hegseth laughed at the reporter before delivering a response worthy of the nation’s secretary of defense.

“So when I say something like our boys in bombers, see this is the kind of thing the press does, right?” Hegseth responded. “Of course, the chairman mentioned a female bomber pilot. That’s fantastic. She’s fantastic. She’s a hero.”

“I want more female bomber pilots. I hope the men and women of our country sign up to do such brave and audacious things,” he added. “But when you spin it as because I say ‘our boys in bombers’ as a common phrase, I’ll keep saying things like that whether they’re men or women. (I’m) very proud of that female pilot, just like I’m very proud of those male pilots.”

“And I don’t care if it’s a male or a female in that cockpit, and the American people don’t care. But it’s the obsession with race and gender in this department that’s changed priorities.”

“We don’t do that anymore. We don’t play your little games.”

Amen to that.

Mahmoud Khalil was released from ICE detention and immediately began leading an anti-America, pro-Iran protest.

A foreign activist with suspected terrorist connections rallying against the country that had just freed him, perfectly encapsulates why comparing today’s campus activism to the civil rights movement is not just historically inaccurate, but morally obscene.

As campus encampments and street demonstrations spread across America, activists and politicians are increasingly drawing false parallels between today’s pro-Hamas protests and the civil rights movement of the 1960s.

Representative Rashida Tlaib recently claimed these protests reflect students being “on the right side of history time and time again,” directly comparing them to civil rights pioneers. But the comparison collapses under scrutiny.

The civil rights movement fought to secure constitutional rights already guaranteed to all Americans but denied to Black citizens under Jim Crow, voting rights, equal protection under law, and access to public accommodations.

Through disciplined nonviolent resistance, the movement broke segregation in public facilities and achieved the most significant civil rights legislation since Reconstruction.

Its strategy included litigation, media engagement, boycotts, sit-ins, and civil disobedience, all aimed at dismantling institutionalized racism and securing legal reform.

Today’s campus protesters pursue entirely different goals. Groups like Columbia University Apartheid Divest praise the leadership of Hamas, Hezbollah, and Ansarallah (the Houthis), all U.S.-designated, Iran-backed terrorist organizations.

Rather than seeking enforcement of American constitutional rights, they promote movements dedicated to destroying America and its ally, while undermining democratic values.

By contrast, the civil rights movement worked through the courts, culminating in landmark decisions like Brown v. Board of Education. Through persistent lobbying and advocacy, its leaders secured transformative legislation, including the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

Today’s campus protesters have explicitly rejected these methods. At Columbia, demonstrators who took over Hamilton Hall scrawled revolutionary slogans such as “Political power comes from the barrel of a gun” on blackboards.

Nerdeen Kiswani, leader of Within Our Lifetime and a prominent figure at the encampment, called for Palestinian “liberation by any means necessary,” including armed resistance.

Today’s campus activists openly advocate for radical upheaval. Their chants, “We don’t want two states, we want 1948” and “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free”, make their aims clear: the destruction of Israel.

While most Americans today view the civil rights movement as a force for good, today’s pro-Hamas protests are overwhelmingly rejected by the public, who recognize their extremist nature.

With their anti-American rhetoric, revolutionary slogans, and praise for violence, these demonstrations reflect what the Heritage Foundation calls an “unholy alliance” between domestic radicals and foreign terrorist groups, posing a direct threat to the nation’s social fabric.

Unlike the civil rights movement, which had no significant foreign student participation or external agitation, today’s campus protests present a starkly different picture.

Law enforcement officials have noted that many demonstrators are not affiliated with the universities they target.

On May 2, police in New York reported that nearly half of those arrested at Columbia and CCNY were unaffiliated with either school.

Similarly, a University of Texas at Austin official stated that half of those detained during an April 24, 2024 protest had no connection to the university.

These protests have also seen growing involvement from foreign nationals, including individuals allegedly linked to extremist networks.

Since President Trump’s executive order targeting campus antisemitism, the State Department has revoked approximately 300 visas, many held by foreign students involved in pro-Hamas activism. According to the National Association of Foreign Student Advisers, the total number of revoked visas now exceeds 1,000.

The foreign influence extends beyond students. Palestinian activist Mahmoud Khalil, accused by the Trump administration of supporting Hamas and spreading pro-Hamas propaganda, served as a negotiator during encampment talks with school officials.

Another figure, Badar Khan Suri, a postdoctoral fellow at Georgetown’s Alwaleed Bin Talal Center, was described by officials as having “close connections to a known or suspected terrorist.”

U.S. intelligence agencies have further warned that hostile foreign governments are exploiting these protests, spreading disinformation, fueling partisan tensions, and promoting support for Hamas and other terrorist groups.

Unlike the pacifism of the civil rights movement, today’s protesters increasingly glorify violence.

Some have referred to the October 7 attacks as the “Al-Aqsa Flood,” celebrated Yahya Sinwar, displayed the Hamas red triangle symbol, and shouted slogans like “Glory to the resistance!”

Today’s protests undermine core American values. When politicians like Representative Tlaib equate support for designated terrorist organizations with the legacy of the civil rights movement, they weaken the United States and embolden hostile actors—both terrorist groups and foreign powers like Iran that seek to do us harm.
