The iconic rock band Jane’s Addiction was supposed to have performed a 33-date North American tour in 2024, and tied it all up with a new album.

But it all came crashing down in September, when singer Perry Farrell attacked guitarist Dave Navarro onstage, suspending the Boston show and resulting in the cancellation of the tour.

Now, the California rockers are back in the headlines for all the wrong reasons, as they fight in the courts in parallel lawsuits.

As we can read in the Hollywood Reporter:

“Perry Farrell has filed a lawsuit of his own against Jane’s Addiction members Dave Navarro, Eric Avery and Stephen Perkins over the 2024 onstage altercation that derailed the band’s tour, his complaint coming just hours after the three members sued him earlier on Wednesday.”

Farrell argues that the other band members were the ‘original aggressors’, for their ‘years-long bullying campaign’, harassing him onstage, ‘playing their instruments at a high volume so that he could not hear himself sing without blasting his own in-ear monitors at an unsafe level’.

“Farrell claimed in the lawsuit that the band’s alleged harassment ‘escalated on September 13, 2024 to physical violence by Navarro and Avery against Farrell onstage during the Boston show and the assault of both Perry and Etty Lau Farrell backstage by Navarro’.”

The suit was filed by the singer, his wife Etty Lau Farrell and the company Wilton Hilton Inc.

According to Farrell, the band ‘scapegoated’ him to cancel the rest of the tour.

“’Perry Farrell was blindsided by not being allowed either input into this decision or even to be heard, leaving him unable to plead his case to continue the tour for Janes Addiction’s fans’, the suit said. ‘Perry Farrell played no role whatsoever in these ill-conceived decisions utterly lacking in legal authority since he was not even consulted about cancelling the tour and would not have agreed to do so due to the financial and reputational consequences’.

[…] In the suit, Farrell denied that he ‘sucker punched’ Navarro backstage and alleged that Navarro ‘menacingly charged at and aggressively assaulted both Farrell and his wife Etty Lau backstage’.”

House Republicans passed three crypto bills, including the Senate-approved Guiding and Establishing National Innovation for U.S. Stablecoins (GENIUS) Act, which creates regulations on “stablecoins” on Thursday. 

Per Forbes:

The House passed the stablecoin bill, known as the Guiding And Establishing National Innovation for U.S. Stablecoins (GENIUS) Act, in a 308-222 vote, sending it to Trump’s desk for a signature.

The House approved the rules for debate for the three bills late Wednesday, clearing a procedural hurdle to tee them up for final votes Thursday, after the initial rules vote failed amid a conservative revolt.

House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., told reporters “I do,” when asked if he expects all three bills to pass Thursday.

Thirteen, including Reps. Anna Paulina Luna, R-Fla., Scott Perry, R-Pa., Chip Roy, R-Texas, Victoria Spartz, R-Ind., Michael Cloud, R-Texas, and Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., among others, vote against the initial procedural motion Tuesday. Rep. Steve Scalise, R-La., who supports the bills, also changed his vote to a “no” to allow him to reintroduce the legislation later. They ultimately changed their votes when the Anti-CBDC Act was merged with the NDAA, resulting in a 217-212 vote to advance the bills after the vote remained open for a record nine hours.

Ahead of the votes, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt was asked by Bitcoin Magazine’s political correspondent, Frank Corva, about the GENIUS Act and the President’s plan for a de minimis exemption for crypto. She revealed that the President is planning to sign the GENIUS Act tomorrow afternoon.

She further clarified that the President is opposed to a central bank digital currency under the Fed, which the House passed a ban for on Thursday.

Corva: I was curious to hear if the President was in favor of removing any and all language around central bank digital currencies from the GENIUS act, maybe as a means to get it across the line and get it on his desk. And then my second question was about something the President spoke about in this room. He talked about a $600 de minimis tax exemption for Bitcoin and other crypto spending. So just wanted to get your comment on this.

Leavitt: Well, the President did signal his support for a de minimis exemption for crypto, and the administration continues to be in support of that. We are definitely receptive to it to make crypto payments easier and more efficient for those who seek to use crypto as simple as buying a cup of coffee. Of course, right now, that cannot happen, but with the de minimis exemption, perhaps it could in the future, and we will continue to explore legislative solutions to accomplish that. As for the central bank digital currency, and the GENIUS Act, which you noted, has passed through Congress and will be sent to the President’s desk. I believe the house is voting on it. If they have it, they should be passing it. We know we have the votes, and we expect it to get to the President’s desk. And we are planning a signing ceremony tomorrow afternoon. All of you will get more details on that. This piece of legislation is going to make America the Crypto Capital of the world, and that’s what the President promised. As for a central bank digital currency, the President opposes that. He made that promise to the American people on the campaign, and while it’s not in this specific piece of legislation, he did sign a January executive order banning a central bank’s digital currency. The administration supports Congress’s efforts to codify that executive order into law, and I believe there will be future pieces of legislation in regards to crypto that will be moving through Capitol Hill. The President looks forward to signing them, and he looks forward to signing ceremony this afternoon.

The House later began voting on the three bills, sending the GENIUS Act to President Trump’s desk, and passing the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, which provides a framework to address confusion over the categorization of digital assets, as well as a bill barring the Federal Reserve from creating a digital currency. The latter two bills will now be transmitted to the Senate.

The Clarity Act passed along party lines, with 78 Democrats joining Republicans.

The GENIUS Act passed with 12 Republicans voting against.

According to Barron’s, Benchmark analyst Mark Palmer says, “If passed, the bills could open the floodgates for new crypto use cases, corporate adoption, and institutional investment.”

Highly unpopular British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and his train-wreck Labour government are moving to lower the voting age by two years to 16 in all UK elections.

This move will probably ensure an avalanche of youth votes to the leftists, thanks to the school system bias.

Reuters reported:

“’They’re old enough to go out to work, they’re old enough to pay taxes’, Prime Minister Keir Starmer told ITV News. ‘If you pay in, you should have the opportunity to say what you want your money spent on, which way the government should go’.”

This will still require parliamentary approval, but it is expected to pass due to Labour’s large majority.

Starmer’s sinking popularity puts him in second place in the polls behind Nigel Farage’s Reform UK party.

“A poll of 500 16 and 17-year-olds conducted by Merlin Strategy for ITV News showed 33% said they would vote Labour, 20% would vote Reform, 18% would vote Green, 12% Liberal Democrats and 10% Conservative.”

Reform UK’s Nigel Farage opposed lowering the voting age, because of a ‘left-wing bias in the educational establishment’. But he vowed to conquer these voters.

“’We’re going to get 16 and 17-year-olds to vote for us. You know why? Because, like me, they want to make Britain great again’, he said in a video posted on X.”

The Telegraph reported:

“[Starmer] faced a furious backlash from Tory and Reform UK figures who claimed Sir Keir had only pressed ahead with the move in an attempt to boost Labour’s chances of re-election.

Labour continues to trail Reform in national opinion polls after suffering a post-election slump in popularity but a recent Merlin Strategy survey suggested Sir Keir’s party was ahead of its rivals amongst 16 and 17-year-olds.”

An anti-ICE protestor got tackled and pepper-sprayed after he slashed tires of the agents’ vehicles during an immigration raid at a Home Deport in Sacramento, California.

According to Fox News reporter Bill Melugin, suspected illegal aliens scattered in all directions as ICE agents descended on a Home Depot in California’s capitol.

10 illegals were arrested.

“One man, who claimed to be a U.S. citizen, was arrested and maced by federal agents after he allegedly slashed the tire of a federal vehicle and appeared to assault an agent was he was taken to the ground,” Bill Melugin said.

President Trump on Friday ordered DHS and ICE to immediately arrests rioters throwing rocks and other projectiles at ICE vehicles.

“I am on my way back from Texas, and watched in disbelief as THUGS were violently throwing rocks and bricks at ICE Officers while they were moving down a roadway in their car and/or official vehicle. Tremendous damage was done to these brand new vehicles. I know for a fact that these Officers are having a hard time with allowing this to happen in that it shows such total disrespect for LAW AND ORDER. A local Democrat politician made a shocking confession during a meeting this week that should prompt a full investigation.

As WKBN reported, Mel Witherspoon, the Democratic City Council President for Erie City, PA, flat-out admitted to killing another man decades ago when he was a teenager during the City Council’s bi-monthly meeting.

“I’m 17. I’m involved with a gang, the largest gang in Newark, New Jersey. I organize. We went over to Jersey City looking for the person,” the 80-year-old Witherspoon said. “Well, when we got there, we didn’t realize it was a family. And when you talk Jersey City and you talk family, you’re talking the mafia.”

Witherspoon went on to say that he was living in Omaha, Nebraska, at the time and bought a gun there. He then said some men came to his room and got high on drugs (likely marijuana).

The Democrat next dropped a bombshell: he shot a man with the first name Nick after the guys left, telling the man he could blow his head off.

“They left. I had the clip in my gun. Nick came into my room, Witherspoon explained. “I said, ‘You know, Nick, I can blow your head off.’ He said, ‘Go ahead.’ And I did. I shot him in the head point-blank. This close (pointing at his head).”

Did Witherspoon not realize that he confessed to murder?

But Witherspoon got away with the crime thanks to his own sordid mafia connections.

“I stayed in jail one night,” he said. “I never went to court and went back to (playing basketball). How did that happen? Because I had a family member, one of my uncles, he was involved with one of the families (mafia).”

“That family made a call to Newark from New York to Omaha, Nebraska where I was at and I was out the next day.”

Assuming Witherspoon is telling the truth, the crime happened either in 1961 or 1962 (he would have been 17 one of those years). But there is no statute of limitations for murder in the state of Nebraska or Pennsylvania.

Just imagine if a MAGA Republican had made such a confession, and what the response from the press would be.
