In May, The Gateway Pundit reported that President Trump called on Congress to “immediately” defund National Public Radio (NPR) and Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) following a House Oversight DOGE subcommittee hearing, which exposed the stations’ already well-known bias and radical content.

“Don’t miss this opportunity to rid our Country of this giant SCAM, both being arms of the Radical Left Democrat Party,” the President told Republican majorities in both chambers of Congress.

Republicans on the committee grilled NPR CEO Katherine Maher and PBS CEO Paula Kerger on Wednesday over their anti-Trump bias and the extreme, woke programming on the stations. This includes documentaries about transvestites and transitioning, “Racist Trees,” and exposing young children, including toddlers, to so-called educational programming that featured a cross-dressing freak.

Kerger joined CNN on Wednesday and claimed that “People often struggle to come up with examples” of left-wing bias at PBS.

Senator John Kennedy (R-LA) noted finding examples of left-wing bias at the network is “not a struggle at all.”

“In Louisiana, a PBS video claimed that pre-schoolers ‘may have racial bias’,” Kennedy wrote on X.

“PBS affiliates also advocated for males in women’s sports to have ‘support in their push for athletic access.’”

“They have the right to say this stuff—but not with your money.”

Kennedy continued, “Even worse, PBS pushed so-called ‘gender-affirming care for youth’ and released woke ‘anti-racist’ talking points for ‘[t]alking to young children about race and racism.’”

“PBS also thought it was a good idea to cover ‘a blueprint for the case against Trump’ and claim that Gov. Sarah Palin ‘ushered in’ the ‘post-truth’ political era in which Trump has thrived,” he added.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt on Tuesday denied reports that President Trump was considering appointing a special prosecutor in the Epstein case. 

This follows a report by John Solomon that President Trump was “on board” with a Special Prosecutor for the Epstein Case after Pam Bondi’s back-and-forth, claiming that she has the files to release, and then not releasing them.

Trump Supports ‘Deep State’ Special Prosecutor That will Include Investigation Into Epstein

President Trump, however, has defended Bondi repeatedly, even calling Republicans "stupid" and "foolish" for wanting the Epstein files so badly.

“I was surprised, but they got duped,” he said of Republicans who aren’t satisfied with Bondi’s nothingburger of a release and claims that Epstein killed himself.

Meanwhile, Republicans in Congress are introducing legislation to release all of the files.

Karoline Leavitt was further asked about President Trump's reaction to House Speaker Mike Johnson calling for additional Epstein files to be released, but she declined to comment.

"I won't discuss the President's private conversations with the Speaker of the House," Leavitt said.

"the President has said, if the attorney general and the Department of Justice and the FBI have any more credible evidence in regards to Jeffrey Epstein's crimes, they should put that forward."

Reporter: The President said that he floated the idea of a special prosecutor in the Epstein case. Can you confirm that? And has he asked the Attorney General to do this, to appoint a special prosecutor, to look it over?

Leavitt: Well, the idea was floated from someone in the media to the President. The President would not recommend a special prosecutor in the Epstein case. That's how he feels. And as for his discussions with the Attorney General, I'm not sure.

Reporter: Do you know what the President's reaction was to Mike Johnson saying that he wants additional files released, the Epstein files. Was there a conversation with Mike Johnson about that following his comments?

Leavitt: I won't discuss the President's private conversations with the Speaker of the House, but as I answered to Jackie's question earlier, the President has said, if the attorney general and the Department of Justice and the FBI have any more credible evidence in regards to Jeffrey Epstein's crimes, they should put that forward. He has called on them to do that.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt addressed President Trump’s swollen legs and hand bruises on Thursday with an update from the President’s physician.

“the President remains in excellent health, which I think all of you witness on a daily basis here,” she told reporters.

In recent days, it was noticed that the President had bruising and other markings on the back of his hand and swollen ankles. This led to mass speculation, especially from the left, that President Trump was suffering from edema and a life-threatening heart condition.

Leavitt immediately addressed the speculation, notifying the press that the President “was thoroughly evaluated by the White House medical unit,” and they found nothing out of the ordinary.

“An echocardiogram was also performed and confirm normal cardiac structure and function. No signs of heart failure, renal impairment or systemic illness were identified,” she said of the President’s swollen legs. She said the President has ” chronic venous insufficiency, a common condition, particularly in individuals over the age of 70.”

The hand bruises were explained as “a well-known and benign side effect of aspirin therapy,” which the President does “as part of a standard cardiovascular prevention regimen.”

This is nothing like Joe Biden’s serious medical condition, despite what the mainstream media tries to make of it.

Leavitt: I know that many in the media have been speculating about bruising on the President’s hand and also swelling in the President’s legs. So, in the effort of transparency, the President wanted me to share a note from his physician with all of you today. In recent weeks, President Trump noted mild swelling in his lower legs, in keeping with routine medical care, and out of an abundance of caution, this concern was thoroughly evaluated by the White House medical unit. The President underwent a comprehensive examination, including diagnostic vascular studies. Bilateral lower extremity venous doppler ultrasounds were performed and revealed chronic venous insufficiency, a common condition, particularly in individuals over the age of 70. Importantly, there was no evidence of deep vein thrombosis or arterial disease.

Laboratory testing included a complete blood count, comprehensive metabolic panel, coagulation profile, D-dimer, B-type natriuretic peptide, and cardiac biomarkers. All results were within normal limits. An echocardiogram was also performed and confirmed normal cardiac structure and function, no signs of heart failure, renal impairment, or systemic illness were identified. Additionally, recent photos of the President have shown minor bruising on the back of his hand. This is consistent with minor soft tissue irritation from frequent handshaking and the use of aspirin, which is taken as part of a standard cardiovascular prevention regimen.

This is a well-known and benign side effect of aspirin therapy, and the President remains in excellent health, which I think all of you witness on a daily basis here. So, the President wanted me to share that note with all of you. I’m happy to take further questions on it. we will provide the memorandum from the President’s physician to all of you, as we always do.
