Multiple people were shot outside a Reno, Nevada, casino on Monday morning.

A police officer shot the suspect. The unidentified suspect, a male, was taken to a hospital.

The condition of the victims is unknown.

It is unclear how many people were shot. Three police officers were injured, but the injuries were not from gunfire.

The mass shooting happened at the Grand Sierra Resort outside the valet area.

“Authorities say there was a police-involved shooting at a casino and resort in Reno, Nevada, on Monday and multiple injuries were reported. A suspect was in custody. Reno police spokesperson Chris Johnson said an adult male suspect was in custody and had been hospitalized in unknown condition. Multiple people were shot, Johnson said, but added that their conditions were not immediately known. The shooting was reported around 7:30 a.m. Monday outside the casino in the valet area, Johnson said,” the AP reported.

Reno police said there is no outstanding threat to the community.

President Donald Trump has set a new deadline of “ten or twelve” days for Russia to make a deal and end the war with Ukraine.

Trump has been pressuring Russia to cease hostilities or face economic repercussions, including tariffs on their key trading partners.

The deadline Trump set on July 14 was 50 days, but he said he has been “very disappointed” in Russian President Vladimir Putin’s lack of effort.

“I’m going to make a new deadline, of about 10, 10 or 12 days from today,” Trump said while speaking to reporters in Scotland alongside UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer. “There’s no reason for waiting. It was 50 days. I wanted to be generous, but we just don’t see any progress being made.”

Trump elaborated on his disappointment with Putin, noting, “We thought we had [the war] settled numerous times… And then President Putin goes out and starts launching rockets into some city, like Kyiv, and kills a lot of people in a nursing home or whatever. You have a lot of bodies lying around.”

Ukraine’s First Deputy Foreign Minister Sergiy Kyslytsya highlighted the new deadline in a post on X.

Maxwell seeks relief in her 20-year prison sentence.

Disgraced British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell has filed an appeal to the Supreme Court today (28), in a move attempting to overturn her sex trafficking conviction.

Her appeal is on the grounds that she was unlawfully prosecuted for crimes committed alongside Jeffrey Epstein.

Axios reported:

“The filing by Maxwell, who was sentenced to 20 years in federal prison in 2022, comes just three days after she met with a top Justice Department official tapped to re-examine the Epstein case.

[…] Maxwell’s appeal revolves around a highly controversial 2007 plea agreement Epstein negotiated with the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Southern District of Florida.”

We’re talking about the now infamous ‘sweetheart plea deal’ given by then US Attorney Alex Acosta – who has been quoted in the media as saying he was warned that Epstein ‘belonged to Intelligence’.

In the agreement, it is also said that the US agrees ‘that it will not institute any criminal charges against any potential co-conspirators of Epstein’.

While Maxwell was not listed as one of those suspects, her defense is arguing that ‘the deal protects unnamed co-conspirators as well, since it explicitly says it’s ‘not limited to’ those listed’.

Vice President JD Vance responded to the horrific violent attack on a white couple at a jazz festival in Cincinnati on Friday evening.

A white man was brutally beaten and stomped on by a violent gang of black suspects. When a woman ran to the victim’s aid, she was also beaten and knocked out.

A reporter watered down the attack as she asked JD Vance about the mob violence toward the white couple.

The reporter called the violent attack on the white couple a “street attack.”

Vance was not having it.

“You said a street fight in Cincinnati? What I saw is a mob of lawless thugs beating up on an innocent person, and it’s disgusting. And I hope every one of those people who engage in violence is prosecuted to the full extent of the law. They will be,” Vance said during his remarks on tax cuts at a steel facility in Canton, Ohio.

“They will be so long as law enforcement in the state of Ohio takes their job seriously. I know Dave Yost cares a lot about these things,” Vance said.

Local law enforcement is investigating the attack, however, Harmeet Dhillon, Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights at the DOJ, posted on Sunday she and her department will be monitoring the investigation as well.
