Children younger than five, particularly infants and toddlers, are increasingly at risk for accidental exposure to fentanyl. With increased exposure in the home in many cases, deaths across the United States are on the rise.

The Gateway Pundit spoke to Derek Maltz, a former head of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) Special Operations Division. In May, Maltz also stepped down as Acting Administrator of the DEA.

On August 18, Maltz posted on X:

After a career spanning over two decades and recently serving as the DEA’s Acting Administrator, it is very clear Maltz remains committed to educating the public and raising awareness about the risks associated with many harmful substances, especially fentanyl and other deadly synthetic opioids.

Fentanyl poisonings are “not just a drug addiction issue,” Maltz pointed out. “American kids are being deceived to death. They are turning to drugs for help [with anxiety or depression, for example], but the illicit drug supply is tainted.”

The deaths are not limited to teenagers or adults who are illegally using fentanyl. “Infants are dying at record levels, and they’re deaths show that this doesn’t just affect those with a substance use disorder or opioid use disorder,” he explained.

“All of this is an attack on our future generations, so the United States has to up its game in the fight [to save not only the addicts, but also the innocent],” said Maltz. “There are so many kids inadvertently getting in contact with these deadly substances, and then they’re putting their hands in their mouth and they’re dying,” he lamented.

“Parents or loved ones are reluctant to talk about it because it’s devastating,” he shared. However, an increasing number of individuals are publicly posting pictures of the innocent lives that were taken from babies and toddlers. Here’s a very small collection of heart wrenching examples:

Maltz credits Drug Epidemic Memorial, also on Facebook, for an “exceptional job” raising awareness about the number of lives lost to fentanyl poisoning and more.

While education and awareness remain top priorities for Maltz, he said the United States government also has to keep pressure on Mexican cartels and the Chinese regime. “Decimating the cartels is absolutely critical,” the former head of the Special Operations Division at the DEA emphasized.

“I appreciate the cooperation and collaboration with the Mexican president and the government of Mexico,” shared the former DEA Acting Administrator. “We’re seeing record amounts of seizures and arrests made in country and the removal operations of additional high-level subjects that were sent to America, [and] the Mexican government is helping in ways we’ve never seen before.”

“Over the last several months, there’s been a total reduction of fentanyl seizures, which is indicative to me that the production of fentanyl has gone down in Mexico.” According to him, “The cartels are starting to get the message that the President of the United States is not going to tolerate people killing our kids at record levels.”

“In the last 20 years, I’ve never seen leadership at the top mandating a whole government approach,” Maltz admitted. “While this is something I tried to push for during my years at SOD, the country has never seen it until President [Donald] Trump and members of the administration united all enforcing agencies.”

During this administration, he said, “we will have law enforcement cooperate fully with the intelligence community, and we’ll have Department of Defense integrated into operations so we can do what’s in the best interest of the United States.”

The United States simply cannot let its guard down, the former DEA exec contended. “Chemicals like Protonitazene and Metonitazene (synthetic opioids) are coming in to be combined with other drugs—and they’re deadly.”

Other concerns include the popularity of Carfentanil, a potent synthetic opioid stronger than fentanyl, as well as the illicit supply of Xylazine (“zombie drug”) from laboratories in China. “The other thing that’s super concerning is the marijuana grow operations led by the Chinese nationals that are in our country, [as] they’re spraying the crops with pesticides and along with the high THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) levels, causing some major issues in the brains of our citizens.”

“We have to continue educating Americans, raising awareness for all ages, and keep removing the cartels, traffickers, and poisons from our country,” Maltz concluded.

Target’s woke CEO Brian Cornell resigned on Wednesday amid declining sales.

Brian Cornell resigned after 11 years at Target and will be replaced by the company’s COO Michael Fiddelke.

The retail giant’s stock was down 10% on Wednesday – shares are down 22% this year.

In 2016, Target faced boycotts after it allowed biological men in women’s restrooms and fitting rooms.

In 2024, Target was forced to dial back its LGBTQ merchandise after a major boycott over its ‘pride’ collection for children.

CNN reported:

Target CEO Brian Cornell is stepping down after 11 years at the retailer, as the company faces slumping sales and backlash to its retreat on DEI.

Cornell’s departure was widely expected. Some industry analysts believed Target should bring in an outside voice to lead the company, but it opted for an internal candidate: Cornell will be replaced on February 1, 2026, by Michael Fiddelke, Target’s current chief operating officer. Fiddelke started as an intern at Target and has been at the company for 20 years.

Fiddelke was chosen from a “strong list of external and internal candidates,” Cornell said on a call with analysts Wednesday, adding that he is the “right candidate to lead our business back to growth.”

Cornell will stay on as executive chairman. He took over in 2014 and revitalized Target, overseeing a strategy to remodel stores and strengthen the chain’s online business to compete with Amazon.

White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller went off on sanctuary city and state officials for their “evil” policies and called the Democratic Party an “extremist organization,” while signaling that lawless Democrats could now face criminal charges for harboring and smuggling aliens.

This comes after Boston Mayor Michelle Wu dared the Trump Administration to enforce federal law against her as she and other lawlss democrats continue to defy ICE detainer requests and release illegal aliens back into their communities after arrests for various crimes.

Miller told Fox host Sean Hannity on Tuesday that Sanctuary Democrats “had a deadline to comply with federal law and hand over the criminal illegal aliens in their custody, the child rapist, the child predators, the drug traffickers, the human traffickers,” but they violated it. “The sanctuary cities like Boston refused to turn over these menacing threats to public safety, and so now they face not only revocation of funds, not only the loss of taxpayer support, but also potential criminal charges for harboring and smuggling,” he continued.

“This is as real as it gets, Sean.”

Miller also recently went off on California Governor Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, saying, “They are guilty of crimes against humanity for their facilitating child trafficking and sex trafficking. They think this is a game. They think this is a joke. This is life and death!”

Previously, Miller has said that sanctuary city and state leaders are violating 8 U.S. Code § 1324, which carries penalties of prison time for anybody who “brings to or attempts to bring to the United States,” “moves or attempts to transport or move” a known illegal alien, or who “conceals, harbors, or shields from detection, or attempts to conceal, harbor, or shield from detection” known illegal aliens.

Miller told The Gateway Pundit in April that “These cities are engaged in systemic criminal violations and that they are engaged in a scheme to nullify and obstruct the duly enacted laws of the United States of America.”

The level of criminality “defies our ability to even catalog it,” he said.

Hannity: To me, it's aiding and abetting. If I went down to the border, and if I were to pick people up that were illegally in the country and transport them around the country and maybe give them a place to stay and protect them and let them know when ICE was going to raid, what would happen to me? Wouldn't I be charged with aiding and abetting?

Miller: You'd be facing felony charges, numerous felony charges, charges for trafficking, charges for smuggling, charges for harboring, charges for concealing, charges for illegal interstate commerce, charge after charge after charge. Let me just break down for your audience, Sean, how severe the crime committed by these sanctuary cities is. So you'll have a situation where local police in Boston will arrest an illegal alien, who's a child predator, and ICE will then send what's called a detainer request or a hold request and will say, “Don't release this person. Hand them over to ICE, and we'll remove this child predator from our community.” Instead, these sanctuary mayors will order the police department to ignore the federal request to set them free, out of the jail, out of the prison, and they will go back into the community, and then they will re-offend. They will hurt another little girl. They will hurt another little boy, and then ICE has to spend weeks, scouring the community to find this public safety threat. What they're doing, Sean, is evil, and President Trump will see that they are held to account for their crimes.

The number of dead and seriously wounded Ukrainians is apparently much higher than imagined.

Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine some three and a half years ago, the Western media has promoted a non-stop barrage of disinformation about the military developments, trying to present a rosier picture than reality can afford.

Perhaps no other aspect of the hostilities has been so blatantly misrepresented as the number of casualties and fatalities.

We got to the point where Kiev regime leader Volodymyr Zelensky had the nerve to say that Ukraine had had 35 thousand losses.

That is particularly absurd since we know that Kiev’s adventure incursion into Russia’s Kursk region alone yielded 70 thousand dead troops in just 7 months – including some of the best and most battle-ready ones.

Just yesterday, Russia handed over another 1,000 bodies of deceased servicemen to Kiev, while the Ukrainian side had a grand total of 19 bodies of deceased Russian servicemen to exchange.

Besides that, the shocking expansion of the country’s cemeteries can’t be explained away.

Now, a Russian hacker group has announced that Ukraine lost no less than 1.7 million soldiers during the war, including the killed and the missing in action.

This information was reportedly uncovered from a hacked database of the Ukrainian Armed Forces General Staff.

The leaks detail the cause of death, personal information of the soldiers, contact information for closest relatives and photographs.

Voennoe Delo (Military Affairs) reported (translated from the Russian):

“The digital records from the Ukrainian General Staff show staggering numbers: over the course of three years, Ukraine’s military has lost 1.7 million personnel. The breakdown includes 118,500 deaths in 2022, 405,400 in 2023, 595,000 in 2024, and a record 621,000 in 2025.

This data was obtained through a large-scale hack of the computers and local network of the General Staff’s employees by hacking groups including Killnet, Palach Pro, User Sec, and Beregini. The cyberattack utilized a malware known as ‘Nuance’, which is designed to function only within Ukraine’s borders. This malicious software infects victims’ devices, downloads sensitive information, and locks the devices, rendering them unrecoverable.”

Of course, there will be those who will object to giving any credence to data provided by ‘Russian cybercriminals’ – but in essence, this is not different from everything we learned from the (equally illegal) revelations by Wikileaks.

“The hackers now possess terabytes of information on Ukraine’s military casualties, personal data of high-ranking officials from the Special Operations Forces (SSO) and the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR), along with detailed lists of countries supplying weapons to Ukraine. Additionally, they have compiled records of all weapon transfers to Ukraine from 2022 to 2025.”
