GREAT NEWS: DOJ Drops DEI Case Against St Louis Brothers After TGP Report
August 28, 2025

The DOJ has dropped its case against two brothers who were targeted by the Biden regime based on a DEI program ran out of the City of St. Louis.

TGP reported 10 days ago on a case involving DEI in St. Louis.

Under the watch of pro-BLM radical mayor Tishaura Jones, St. Louis incurred the highest murder rate in the country, and the steepest population loss as families left the city by the thousands to escape the war zone atmosphere. Things were so bad that the state had to step in and take control of the city’s police force.

But what were Mayor Jones and the Democrats who ran the city focused on? Not crime, or development, or quality of life – They focused on pushing Reparations, Closing prisons, Installing a “Deputy Mayor for Racial Equity”, and creating a Rube-Goldberg-machine DEI program that encourages graft and grinds development to a halt.

Even though Jones was tossed on her ear in a historic landslide defeat in April—losing by 30 points—progressive prosecutor Hal Goldsmith is still pushing to send minority builders to jail for the “crime” of trying to navigate the city’s ridiculous DEI maze.

The Case Against Brothers Sid Chakraverty and Vic Alston

A building company owned by brothers Sid Chakraverty and Vic Alston stepped up to develop housing in blighted areas of St. Louis.  Even though the brothers are themselves racial minorities and worked with a number of minority- and women-owned subcontractors on the buildings, progressive crusader Goldsmith and the DOJ indicted them on fraud charges for the alleged “crime” of not filling out their DEI reports accurately.

Let’s be clear: the city got what they wanted. Brand-new quality buildings in blighted areas. No money misused. No investors robbed. The only “victim” even alleged is the DEI bureaucracy—the St. Louis Development Corporation—charged with administering the racial quota system.

However, progressive prosecutor Goldsmith (below), and former mayor Tishaura Jones were obsessed with “racial justice” at the expense of real justice. In a similar prosecution from a few years back Goldsmith, described the DEI program as intended “to right the wrong … of years and years of racism” and that the City should be “merciless” in enforcing it.

Illegal and Unconstitutional DEI Racism

This year the city of St. Louis was forced to shut down the same DEI program Sid and Vic are being charged with misleading. Why? Because the Supreme Court has declared racial discrimination in the name of DEI unconstitutional. And the Trump DOJ is going after local governments and institutions for violating the Constitution.

In early August the newly elected Mayor of St. Louis announced that the city’s DEI policy was a great step forward –

However, the city would pause the policy as of August 4th.

As reported previously

Vic and Sid’s case looked worse and worse the more we dug into the details of how St. Louis runs its DEI maze. The “goals” the city set up for minority participation were just a bureaucratic trap, vague and constantly changing, with regulators seemingly making it up as they went along, saying “we don’t have written processes” and “whatever we say it is, that’s what it’s going to be.” How do you comply with that? You don’t. The arbitrariness is the point.

There was no victim, no theft, nothing missing or lost. This is a politically motivated prosecution driven by the desire to protect a collapsing DEI program, not uphold justice.

Federal law was being weaponized to enforce an unconstitutional policy—and even the City of St. Louis is backing away from it.

Update – Great News Today

Today the DOJ’s US Attorney in the Eastern District of Missouri, Thomas Albus, moved for the dismissal of the indictment in the case.  Here is his motion.

Motion to Dismiss Indictment STL Builders by Joe Ho

As a result, the attorneys on the case issued the following statement:

Statement on behalf of Sid Chakraverty and Vic Alston on dismissal of their case by U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Missouri

Per spokesman Jim McCarthy

With a sense of relief and confidence in our integrity, we are pleased to know that the case brought against Sid and Vic last summer is now over. They are enormously gratified that this lengthy and unnecessary ordeal is finally behind them. That resolution is a credit to the superb acumen of their attorneys, Brad Bondi and Renato Mariotti, whose filings made compellingly clear that this case could not withstand either a jury of St. Louisans or the constitutional scrutiny of the federal bench.

The Paul Hastings team has worked with diligent expertise on this case for more than a year and Mr. Mariotti for over a year before that. All throughout, their perseverance and wisdom was unwavering. That was clear when, just two days after the team filed our motion to dismiss, the City of St. Louis withdrew the very program that had been the entire basis of the litigation, obviously realizing it was legally untenable. They also demonstrated how federal jurisprudence has plainly rejected the legal theories at issue in the case.

Sid and Vic also want to extend heartfelt thanks to the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of St. Louis, Thomas Albus, for his professionalism and sensible action in resolving this matter so swiftly after taking office.

Even during the most difficult days of this process, Sid and Vic have continued with their hard-working vocation to build first-rate, affordable residential apartment buildings for the communities where they have lived and worked for years. That’s the kind of entrepreneurial spirit that we can all celebrate in the United States, the greatest country in the world.

Former White House press secretary and MSNBC host Jen Psaki is facing brutal backlash after comments she made mocking Americans who turn to prayer in the wake of horrific tragedies.

Following the devastating mass shooting at Annunciation Catholic Church and School in Minneapolis on Wednesday morning, Psaki arrogantly declared:

“Prayer is not freaking enough. Prayers does not end school shootings. prayers do not make parents feel safe sending their kids to school. Prayer does not bring these kids back. Enough with the thoughts and prayers.”

The statement came just hours after a peaceful back-to-school Mass turned into a nightmare when a deranged trans gunman opened fire through the stained-glass windows of Annunciation Catholic Church and School in Minneapolis.

The shooter, 23-year-old Robert Westman, legally obtained a rifle, a shotgun, and a pistol before unleashing a brutal attack during Wednesday morning Mass. Two children, ages 8 and 10, were killed.

Seventeen others were wounded, including fourteen children and three elderly parishioners. Thankfully, authorities have confirmed all injured are expected to survive.

Westman, a former student of the school, took his own life on the scene. Authorities later uncovered a disturbing manifesto praising past mass shooters. The FBI is investigating the rampage as both a domestic terror attack and a hate crime targeting Catholics.

Psaki’s performative outrage about prayer didn’t take long to implode. Internet sleuths dug up her own history of offering “thoughts and prayers” when it was politically convenient for her.

In 2017, after Republican Congressman Steve Scalise was shot by a left-wing extremist, Psaki tweeted:

“Thoughts and prayers with @SteveScalise and officers shot. And thank you to members, hill staffers for your public service.”

In 2020, she lashed out at then–Vice President J.D. Vance, sneering, “I am sure the families of the 200k people who lost their lives appreciate your thoughts and prayers @VP.”

Americans are fed up with the hypocrisy. Faith and prayer have always been a source of strength in times of tragedy.

Jen Psaki can mock it all she wants, but millions of Americans will continue to pray for the victims, their families, and yes, even for those so lost in their arrogance that they can’t see the value of faith.

South Korea’s Church Raids: A Political Assault by the New Administration Disguised as Law Enforcement

Yoido Full Gospel Church Outdoor Cross

Guest post by a Citizen of the Republic of Korea

Introduction: A Pattern of Persecution

In the span of just a few months in 2025, the South Korean government under President Lee Jae-myung has launched a series of unprecedented raids against major churches and senior Christian leaders. What makes this wave of crackdowns so alarming is not only its scale, but also its unmistakable political targeting.

The churches under attack—Yeouido Full Gospel Church, SaRang Jeil Church, Segyero Church, and Unjeong Chamjon Church—have something in common: they are at the forefront of defending freedom, practicing biblical convictions, and voicing opposition to the impeachment and imprisonment of former President Yoon Suk-yeol and former First Lady Kim Keon-hee.

Since the National Assembly forced through the impeachment bill in December 2024, these churches have been the backbone of nationwide protests demanding Yoon’s reinstatement and release.

Public opposition to impeachment surged above 50%, largely driven by church-led movements. Today, the overwhelming majority of citizens who still reject Lee Jae-myung’s presidency and call for Yoon’s release are Christians.

The government knows this. And by striking at churches, it is attempting to dismantle the very infrastructure of resistance.

Case 1: SaRang Jeil Church (Rev. Jeon Kwang-hoon)

On August 5, police raided Rev. Jeon’s residence, church, and media studio, citing allegations that he incited the “Seobu Court riot” in January.

Reality: The event in question occurred hours after Jeon had already ended his rally.

Church stance: Jeon insisted, “I am an emeritus pastor, not even in a position to give such orders.”

Criticism: The raid was not about genuine evidence but about punishing a pastor whose church spearheaded anti-impeachment protests.

Case 2: Segyero Church (Rev. Son Hyun-bo)

On May 12, police stormed Rev. Son’s office and even seized his personal phone, citing alleged election law violations. His crime? Hosting a candidate for a discussion ahead of the Busan superintendent of education by-election and uploading the video online.

Church stance: Over 1,200 Christian and civic groups immediately gathered at the National Assembly, calling the raid “unprecedented religious persecution.”

Their point: Son never told congregants whom to vote for. He merely urged participation. Using microphones in a 5,000-seat sanctuary was treated as if it were unlawful campaigning.

Criticism: A blatant overreach. The state reinterpreted normal pastoral duties as criminal acts.

Case 3: Unjeong Chamjon Church (Rev. Ko Byung-chan)

Just two weeks later, on May 26, Unjeong Chamjon Church was raided alongside Segyero.

Church stance: Leaders decried that police intruded during worship and even seized pastors’ personal devices. “This is not mere procedure—it destroys the sanctity of the church itself.”

Criticism: Crossing the threshold into active worship space represents a dangerous precedent. Once the sanctity of the pulpit is violated by the state, no faith community is safe.

Case 4: Yeouido Full Gospel Church (Rev. Lee Young-hoon)

On July 18, prosecutors raided the world’s largest Pentecostal church and Rev. Lee’s home. The pretext: alleged “lobbying” for a former Marine Corps commander implicated in the controversial death of a soldier.

Rev. Lee’s response: “I never even received a prayer request related to the case. There was no lobbying, no words exchanged with officials.”

Criticism: To drag the nation’s most influential pastor into a political case was to send a chilling message: no church is untouchable.

Case 5: Far East Broadcasting (Rev. Kim Jang-hwan)

The same day, authorities raided Far East Broadcasting, targeting Rev. Kim Jang-hwan, a veteran Christian broadcaster.

Political response: The main opposition party, People Power Party, issued a formal statement: “Raiding revered senior pastors on flimsy grounds is an abuse of power and a violation of constitutional religious freedom.”

Criticism: This case revealed that the raids were no longer “law enforcement.” They had become a naked political tool.

The Common Thread

What ties these cases together is clear:

  1. Each targeted church has been central to the anti-impeachment, pro-Yoon movement.
  2. Each raid intruded on constitutionally protected spaces of worship, from sanctuaries to pastors’ offices.
  3. Each case demonstrates inflated charges—turning sermons, discussions, or even silence into “crimes.”

By labeling pastors as criminals, the government aims to delegitimize church-led protests and break the spine of resistance.

Constitutional Implications

South Korea’s Constitution explicitly guarantees freedom of religion and the separation of church and state. Yet in 2025, churches have been raided in ways unseen even under past dictatorships. Police entered sanctuaries during worship. Prosecutors seized pastors’ private devices. Judges rubber-stamped warrants without restraint.

This is not the rule of law. It is the weaponization of law.

Why This Matters Beyond Korea

These raids are not just a domestic Korean issue. They strike at values that the international community, and especially the United States, hold dear:

  1. Religious freedom is the first freedom. If South Korea abandons it, the impact will be felt globally.
  2. Alliance at risk. South Korea is America’s closest ally in Asia. A government that suppresses faith and freedom while leaning toward Beijing undermines the trust that alliance depends on.
  3. A global pattern. Around the world, leftist regimes and Soros-backed networks have weaponized law (“lawfare”) to silence churches, conservatives, and pro-freedom movements. Korea today is part of that same pattern.
  4. Aligned with Trump’s vision. President Trump has always stood for freedom of faith, freedom of speech, and opposition to socialism. The crackdown on Korean churches is an assault on all three.

Conclusion: A Warning for the Free World

The world should understand: these are not isolated cases. They are coordinated moves by a government fearful of its people and determined to silence its most organized opposition—the church.

Korean Christians, by their faith and their courage, have stood against unjust impeachment and called for the release of their elected leader. For this, they are being punished.

Religious freedom is the first freedom. If South Korea, long considered a beacon of liberty in Asia, abandons it, the consequences will reverberate far beyond its borders.

Monkey Pox Dr. Demetre Daskalakis

Back in September 2023, Joe Biden announced a new team to lead the White House’s national monkeypox response.

Biden named Dr. Demetre Daskalakis as the White House National Monkeypox Response Deputy Coordinator.

Demetre Daskalakis Instagram

On Wednesday Dr. Daskalakis turned in his resignation at the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). His resignation came hours after news broke that CDC Director Susan Monarez was ousted from the agency.

His resignation comes on the same day that Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced a slew of changes to limit access to the COVID-19 vaccine.

On Wednesday the FDA officially rescinded the Emergency Use Authorizations (EUAs) for the COVID-19 vaccines, the authorizations that were used to justify medical mandates, lockdowns, and mass coercion under Joe Biden’s failed regime.

RFK Jr., fulfilling a major campaign promise of President Donald Trump’s administration, made it clear that the era of unchecked mandates is over:

“I promised 4 things:

1. to end covid vaccine mandates.

2. to keep vaccines available to people who want them, especially the vulnerable.

3. to demand placebo-controlled trials from companies.

4. to end the emergency.

In a series of FDA actions today we accomplished all four goals. The emergency use authorizations for Covid vaccines, once used to justify broad mandates on the general public during the Biden administration, are now rescinded.

FDA has now issued marketing authorization for those at higher risk: Moderna (6+ months), Pfizer (5+), and Novavax (12+). These vaccines are available for all patients who choose them after consulting with their doctors.

The developments were too much for Dr. Demetre Daskalakis. He submitted his resignation earlier today.

He will be missed.

Dr. Demetre released a long-winded screed following his resignation. He signs it he/him.

My resignation letter from CDC.

Dear Dr. Houry,

I am writing to formally resign from my position as Director of the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), effective August 28, 2025, close of business. I am happy to stay on for two weeks to provide transition, if requested.

This decision has not come easily, as I deeply value the work that the CDC does in safeguarding public health and am proud of my contributions to that critical mission.

However, after much contemplation and reflection on recent developments and perspectives brought to light by Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., I find that the views he and his staff have shared challenge my ability to continue in my current role at the agency and in the service of the health of the American people. Enough is enough.

While I hold immense respect for the institution and my colleagues, I believe that it is imperative to align my professional responsibilities to my system of ethics and my understanding of the science of infectious disease, immunology, and my promise to serve the American people.

This step is necessary to ensure that I can contribute effectively in a capacity that allows me to remain true to my principles.

I am unable to serve in an environment that treats CDC as a tool to generate policies and materials that do not reflect scientific reality and are designed to hurt rather than to improve the public’s health. The recent change in the adult and children’s immunization schedule threaten the lives of the youngest Americans and pregnant people.

The data analyses that supported this decision have never been shared with CDC despite my respectful requests to HHS and other leadership.

This lack of meaningful engagement was further compounded by a “frequently asked questions” document written to support the Secretary’s directive that was circulated by HHS without input from CDC subject matter experts and that cited studies that did not support the conclusions that were attributed to these authors.

Having worked in local and national public health for years, I have never experienced such radical non-transparency, nor have I seen such unskilled manipulation of data to achieve a political end rather than the good of the American people.

It is untenable to serve in an organization that is not afforded the opportunity to discuss decisions of scientific and public health importance released under the moniker of CDC.

The lack of communication by HHS and other CDC political leadership that culminates in social media posts announcing major policy changes without prior notice demonstrate a disregard of normal communication channels and common sense.

Having to retrofit analyses and policy actions to match inadequately thought-out announcements in poorly scripted videos or page long X posts should not be how organizations responsible for the health of people should function.

Some examples include the announcement of the change in the COVID-19 recommendations for children and pregnant people, the firing of scientists from ACIP by X post and an op-ed rather than direct communication with these valuable experts, the announcement of new ACIP members by X before onboarding and vetting have completed, and the release of term of reference for an ACIP workgroup that ignored all feedback from career staff at CDC.

The recent term of reference for the COVID vaccine work group created by this ACIP puts people of dubious intent and more dubious scientific rigor in charge of recommending vaccine policy to a director hamstrung and sidelined by an authoritarian leader.

Their desire to please a political base will result in death and disability of vulnerable children and adults. Their base should be the people they serve not a political voting bloc.

I have always been first to challenge scientific and public health dogma in my career and was excited by the opportunity to do so again. I was optimistic that there would be an opportunity to brief the Secretary about key topics such as measles, avian influenza, and the highly coordinated approach to the respiratory virus season.

Such briefings would allow exchange of ideas and a shared path to support the vision of “Making America Healthy Again.”

We are seven months into the new administration, and no CDC subject matter expert from my Center has ever briefed the Secretary. I am not sure who the Secretary is listening to, but it is quite certainly not to us.

Unvetted and conflicted outside organizations seem to be the sources HHS use over the gold standard science of CDC and other reputable sources.

At a hearing, Secretary Kennedy said that Americans should not take medical advice from him. To the contrary, an appropriately briefed and inquisitive Secretary should be a source of health information for the people he serves. As it stands now, I must agree with him, that he should not be considered a source of accurate information.

The intentional eroding of trust in low-risk vaccines favoring natural infection and unproven remedies will bring us to a pre-vaccine era where only the strong will survive and many if not all will suffer.

I believe in nutrition and exercise. I believe in making our food supply healthier, and I also believe in using vaccines to prevent death and disability. Eugenics plays prominently in the rhetoric being generated and is derivative of a legacy that good medicine and science should continue to shun.

The recent shooting at CDC is not why I am resigning. My grandfather, who I am named after, stood up to fascist forces in Greece and lost his life doing so. I am resigning to make him and his legacy proud.

I am resigning because of the cowardice of a leader that cannot admit that HIS and his minions’ words over decades created an environment where violence like this can occur. I reject his and his colleagues’ thoughts and prayers, and advise they direct those to people that they have not actively harmed.

For decades, I have been a trusted voice for the LGBTQ community when it comes to critical health topics. I must also cite the recklessness of the administration in their efforts to erase transgender populations, cease critical domestic and international HIV programming, and terminate key research to support equity as part of my decision.

Public health is not merely about the health of the individual, but it is about the health of the community, the nation, the world. The nation’s health security is at risk and is in the hands of people focusing on ideological self-interest.

I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for the opportunities for growth, learning, and collaboration that I have been afforded during my time at the CDC.

It has been a privilege to work alongside such dedicated professionals who are committed to improving the health and well-being of communities across the nation even when under attack from within both physically and psychologically.

Thank you once again for the support and guidance I have received from you and previous CDC leadership throughout my tenure.

I wish the CDC continued success in its vital mission and that HHS reverse its dangerous course to dismantle public health as a practice and as an institution. If they continue the current path, they risk our personal well-being and the security of the United States.

Sincerely,

Demetre C. Daskalakis MD MPH (he/his/him)

New Jerseyans are feeling the pain of higher electricity bills. They should blame Governor Phil Murphy and the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (BPU) for inviting this energy crisis.

The BPU was slated to approve a 20% rate hike in June, but delayed the rate hike until September 30. On August 14, the BPU announced a $100 Residential Universal Bill Credit to help lower bills in September and October. This is a way to use taxes to disguise the cost of utility bills, but New Jerseyans are still shouldering these costs.

When announcing this relief measure, Governor Murphy didn’t accept responsibility for higher prices. Instead, he blamed PJM Interconnection, a grid operator servicing New Jersey and 12 other states, for creating a “cost crisis.” Earlier this summer, he urged residents to set their air conditioners to 76-78 degrees Fahrenheit and delay appliance usage until 8 p.m. But Garden Staters aren’t buying what Murphy is selling.

Earlier this month, a Farleigh Dickenson University poll found a plurality of New Jersey residents blame utility companies (26%) and the Murphy administration (19%) for higher electricity costs. Utility companies that deliver electricity, however, don’t set prices. But the BPU—officials appointed by Governor Murphy to carry out his climate agenda—does. It’s Governor Murphy and his radical plan to force New Jersey to change how the state gets its power that have caused this crisis and driven prices up.

The governor’s Energy Master Plan mandated a transition to 100% wind, solar, battery energy, and electric vehicles by 2035. Murphy’s green transition plan, if fully implemented, will result in $1.4 trillion in lost income, or $140,000 per average New Jerseyan over the next 25 years, while yielding no meaningful environmental benefits. It’s understandable New Jersey families feel pain. Some family energy bills have exceeded $500 per month.

Since Governor Murphy entered office in 2017, six power plants—including five coal plants and Oyster Creek nuclear reactor—were shut down. This represents a loss of 2,500 megawatts (MW) of net capacity. As a result, the state consumes more energy than it produces. It imported 20% of its electricity from out-of-state power generators—namely, Pennsylvania. Imported electricity is more expensive due to higher fuel and transmission costs. One analysis found NJ’s green “transition” “has outpaced its replacement infrastructure, raising concerns about grid stability, cost volatility, and energy independence.” Yet, there is no transition occurring. Natural gas and nuclear have cumulatively supplied over 90% of the state’s net electricity generation since 2011. Renewables, including solar, barely supply 8%.

But don’t take my word for it. States with clean energy mandates—including renewable standard portfolios (RPS) that mandate electric utilities set renewable energy targets—generally have higher electricity costs compared to states without them. As of this writing, New Jersey electricity rates are the 12th most expensive in the nation, averaging 20.49¢ per kilowatt-hour (kWh). That’s 17.3% higher than the national average (17.47¢ per kWh). For context, the average American household uses about 10,800 kWh annually.

PJM warned against prematurely retiring power plants and replacing them with solar and wind. The North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) equally stressed in its 2025 Summer Reliability Assessment that solar and battery additions will “introduce more complexity and energy limitations into the resource mix.” Nevertheless, the Murphy administration continues to scapegoat PJM and energy producers, instead of looking inward.

Even net-zero proponents concede the Garden State’s green policies have increased electricity prices. The Regional Plan Association (RPA), a pro-renewable civic organization covering the New York City Metropolitan area, said New Jersey’s green agenda could raise electricity prices when not enough power from renewables is generated and renewable energy goals can “increase prices if the states do not meet those goals when they are supposed to….”

The Murphy administration could fix its self-imposed energy crisis in two ways: exploring the feasibility of small modular reactors (SMRs) and reforming the Energy Master Plan to deemphasize unreliable solar and wind energy. With New Jersey already boasting two nuclear power plants, smaller reactors that are portable and easier to construct will supplement existing projects, produce more reliable energy, and help the state reduce its reliance on imported electricity. Instead of learning from its mistakes, the Murphy administration wants to codify its costly Energy Master Plan into law by year’s end.

Our organization, Independent Women’s Voice, recently polled swing voters about energy issues in the state. The poll revealed 80% of swing voters expressed concern about energy reliability. When respondents learned that the Murphy administration’s climate policies, including Energy Master Plan, invited the 20% electricity rate hike, 53% of women were less inclined to  support phaseouts of oil, natural gas, and coal.

Governor Murphy’s Green New Deal is exacerbating the Garden State’s energy crisis. Decline is a choice, and New Jersey voters plan to choose energy reliability at the ballot box.
