So, while the peace process may progress slowly, reports arise that business ties are already being privately rebuilt.

American and Russian biggest energy companies are setting up a plan to go back into business, exploring offshore oil-and-gas fields on Russia’s far-east coast.

Wall Street Journal reported:

“In secret talks with Russia’s biggest state energy company this year, a senior Exxon Mobil executive discussed returning to the massive Sakhalin project if the two governments gave the green light as part of a Ukraine peace process, said people familiar with the discussions.

Such is the sensitivity that only a handful of people at Exxon knew the talks had taken place. One of the U.S. oil major’s top executives, Senior Vice President Neil Chapman, led the talks on the Exxon side.”

Exxon executives have reportedly asked the U.S. government for support to go back to Russia, with CEO Darren Woods recently discussing a possible return with President Donald J. Trump at the White House.

“Resuming business in Russia would mark a dramatic rapprochement after Exxon’s messy breakup with Moscow when Putin attacked Ukraine in 2022. The West’s biggest oil producer dived deeper into Russia than most other companies after the fall of the Soviet Union. Its retreat after the invasion was correspondingly more acrimonious.

Sakhalin-1, named after a Russian island near the three oil fields, was one of Exxon’s biggest investments, first agreed in 1995. Exxon ran the venture, and owned 30% alongside state-owned Rosneft as well as Japanese and Indian companies, which are still there.”

It has been revealed that following the 2024 presidential election loss, Kamala Harris’s senior advisers and the Democratic National Committee (DNC) entered into a private handshake agreement to address outstanding campaign bills. Under the terms of this deal, the DNC committed to covering approximately $20.5 million in post-election expenses from Harris’s 2024 campaign. The arrangement was designed to enable Harris to publicly state that her campaign concluded without any debt.

In exchange, Harris agreed to raise funds through ongoing solicitations to reimburse the DNC and keep it financially intact. The deal was negotiated shortly after the election results were called and was not publicly disclosed at the time, with details emerging from anonymous sources familiar with the internal discussions. Small donors contributing received nearly 100 email appeals from Harris’s operation in 2025 but were not informed that their donations were effectively earmarked to cover these leftover campaign bills sparking major criticism of the DNC and Kamala Harris.

The 21-year-old American hero who was stabbed in the face by a Syrian “refugee” harrassing 2 young women Saturday night in Dresden (Gateway reported) has come forward and identified himself as John Rudat, a student and male model from Albany, New York. John’s modeling career is “over now” due to the scar in his face, he said, but he would stand up and defend the woman again “without hesitation”, he told German journalist Anabel Schunke for Junge Freiheit newspaper.

Anabel Schunke: How are you, John?

John Rudat: Today was an important day. I feel better, and some of the bandages have been removed from my wound. Now I can see the cut more clearly.

Anabel Schunke: Please tell us what happened. How did the fight start?

John Rudat: It all happened very quickly, as is often the case with violent confrontations. Fortunately, the police are investigating and will see justice is done. When the attackers started harassing a woman on the tram, I tried to calm everyone down. My instinct was to put myself between her and the perpetrator, so I stretched out my arm to create distance and protect her. So the main attacker immediately turned on me. It escalated almost instantly, while I continued to shield the woman. After I managed to create some distance, another man suddenly appeared, slashed my face and disappeared. He is still at large, but I have full confidence justice will be done for this senseless and brutal act of violence. My actions were completely justified. I intervened because someone was clearly in danger, and I would do the same thing again.

Anabel Schunke: Did other men help you?

John Rudat: No, no one helped me, apart from my friends. They called the police and made sure that I remained as safe as possible after the attack. Unfortunately, the other passengers did not intervene at all. I have to say I understand them – many people are scared or don’t think they can do anything. They have their own lives, their work and their responsibilities, and fear makes it hard to intervene.

Anabel Schunke: How did your friends family in the USA react?

John Rudat: Well, they were very worried when they first heard about the attack, of course. As a freshly graduated paramedic, I know a lot of police officers and first responders. Everyone strongly backed my decision to protect the woman and is helping me in this difficult time.

Anabel Schunke: Why are you in Germany? Would you come back after what happened?

John Rudat: I was visiting my former host family in Dresden. I spent a year here as a student in 2022-2023 and fell in love with the city. Dresden is my favorite city in Germany. Unfortunately, I saw crime and violence grow here. I feel for the people of Dresden who have to live with this fear and often have the feeling they can’t talk about it openly. When lives are in danger, it transcends politics. We have to be open about what’s going on. But Dresden is like my second home, I would definitely defend it.

Anabel Schunke: The suspect has a police record and is still at large. What do you think of how the police handled it?

John Rudat: I believe the police are doing everything they can. They are part of the community like all of us, but they face the gravest danger. The officers I spoke to were very professional and had my back. Since I come from a family of police officers, I have great respect for what they do. It’s not an easy life, and only a few people really understand it. If we want real change, we have to recognize the police are here to protect us, and work with them as a partner.

Anabel Schunke: Will you be scarred for life? How will this affect your modeling career?

John Rudat: My modeling career is over now. They told me a scar will remain, any I can see it. But I don’t regret defending her. For me, my scar is a symbol of strength. It reminds me I’m alive, and thankfully I still have my eyesight. Instead of being sad, I feel strengthened. My scar sympbolizes standing up to senseless aggression.

Anabel Schunke: Would you do it again?

John Rudat: Yes,  I would defend that woman again, without hesitation. She was in serious danger and unable to protect herself. Every injury I got was worth it to protect their lives. For me, it was my personal duty and an expression of the values I was raised with – to stand up against violence and oppression.

John’s family has set up a GoFundMe for his support. His brother’s girlfriend, Molly Sheldon, wrote:

My boyfriend’s brother, John, was brutally attacked on public transportation while traveling in Germany on August 24th, 2025.

Fresh from completing Paramedic school, and having worked as an EMT for the last year and a half, John’s passion for saving lives drove him to heroically intervene when he saw two women being violently assaulted by, according to Law Enforcement reports, two Syrian Nationals. One of whom was detained briefly by authorities but released shortly after, and the other remains at large.

John sustained critical injuries from his attempts to protect these females, including a deep facial wound from a 6-inch blade, requiring immediate and extensive surgery in Germany.

This horrible act against John leaves us devastated and seeking justice. He now faces a challenging recovery; physically, emotionally, and even financially as he works to heal from this incident. We are all heartbroken but determined to support him through this ordeal.

John is a kind, selfless soul who put his own safety on the line to help others, and now we’re rallying to support him.

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth declared a full-scale investigation into Microsoft for its reliance on Chinese Communist Party (CCP)-linked engineers in highly sensitive Department of Defense (DoD) cloud contracts.

Hegseth revealed that the scandal traces back nearly a decade to an Obama-Biden era program called “Digital Escorts” — U.S. citizens with clearance, but limited technical expertise — to act as go‑betweens for Chinese engineers.

While initially framed as a “compliance workaround,” the program handed the CCP direct access to some of the most sensitive infrastructure protecting the nation.

According to Hegseth, the Pentagon has issued a formal “matter of concern” to Microsoft, demanding a third-party audit of every line of code and submission tied to the Chinese engineers.

The investigation will examine whether malicious code or backdoors were inserted into U.S. military systems.

He announced that every DoD software vendor must immediately identify and eliminate any Chinese involvement in their systems.

I mean, if you’re thinking America First and common sense—this doesn’t pass either of those tests. So, I initiated an immediate review of this vulnerability, and I want to report our initial findings.

The use of Chinese nationals to service Department of Defense cloud environments—it’s over. We’ve issued a formal matter of concern to Microsoft, documenting this breach of trust, and we’re requiring a third-party audit of Microsoft’s Digital Escort program, including the code and the submissions by Chinese nationals. This audit will be free of charge for U.S. taxpayers.

I’m also tasking Department of Defense experts with a separate investigation of the Digital Escort program and the Chinese Microsoft employees who were involved in it. These investigations will help us determine the impact of this workaround. Did they put anything in the code that we didn’t know about?

We’re going to find out.

Additionally, all Department of Defense software vendors will identify and terminate any Chinese involvement in DOD systems. It blows my mind that I’m even saying these things—it’s just common sense—and yet we ever allowed it to happen. That’s why we’re attacking it so hard.

We expect vendors doing business with the Department of Defense to put U.S. national security ahead of profit maximization. I’m committed, like the President is, to ensuring that our national security networks are secure.

Again—it’s America First and it’s common sense. This never should have happened in the first place. But once we found out about it, we’ve attacked it aggressively from the beginning, and we’re going to follow all the way through the tape to make sure that this is addressed.

So, DOD is working in conjunction with our partners and the rest of the federal government to ensure that all U.S. networks are protected.
