A Florida college has announced that it will commision a statue commerorating the legacy of the late Charlie Kirk.

As the country continues to digest the reality of his brutal assassination during an event at Utah Valley University last week, many institutions are finding ways to honor Kirk’s legacy of conservatism and promoting freedom of speech and civil discourse.

Among them is the New College of Florida, a public liberal arts college based in Sarasota.

“Today, we announced that we will commission a statue of Charlie Kirk to honor his legacy and incredible work after his tragic assassination last week,” the organization wrote on the X platform.

“The statue, privately funded by community leaders, will stand on campus as a commitment by New College to defend and fight for free speech and civil discourse in American life.”

“The location for the statue will be announced in the coming months.”

Having once been a left-wing liberal arts college, the New College of Florida was taken over by appointees of Governor Ron DeSantis back in 2023.

After the removal of the progressive leadership, the college has eliminated all its Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) programs, banned critical race theory and taken a solely meritocratic approach to admissions.

The faculty were left so distraught by the changes that 40 percent of them resigned.

Since these reforms, the college has seen a large increase in student applications, including among minorities.

DeSantis said the tribute to Kirk was evidence of the “positive changes” that have been made in recent years.

“When New College of Florida was a de facto Marxist compound this would have never happened,” DeSantis wrote on the X platform.

“Glad to see the positive changes that have been made over the years,” he continued. “Good job!”

Another evil leftist has learned that the reality of consequence culture after mocking the assassination of Charlie Kirk this week.

As The Gateway Pundit reported earlier on Tuesday, a viral video emerged online showing a student at Texas State University taunting others at a Kirk memorial event hosted by the local TPUSA chapter.

In the footage, the young man mimicked the shooting by tapping his neck and writhing while his ‘friends’ film.

“Charlie Kirk got hit in the neck, b**ch!” he said. “Look, I’m Charlie Kirk!

He then walked up to a statue and mocked Kirk getting assassinated once again, and fell to the ground while his friends continued to guffaw.

While leaving, he turned to a video camera and said “f**k that n****!”

Texas State University President Kelly Damphousse and Texas Governor Greg Abbott both released statements following the incident, which occurred Monday on school’s San Marcos campus. While Damphousse did not say what punishment he would enact, Abbott demanded the student’s expulsion.

Following the national uproar, Texas State University announced on X that had identified the student responsible and kicked him out of school.

“TXST has identified the student in the disturbing video from Monday’s event,” the post reads. “The individual is no longer a student at TXST.”

“Federal law prevents the university from commenting on individual student conduct matters.”

Texas State University also attached a follow-up statement from Damphousse on its X post. The university president confirmed the student’s expulsion and also scolded unnamed social media users suggesting the student’s actions were a reflection on the overall student body.

“These kinds of insinuations are unfair to our student body and cause some of our students to feel unsafe,” Damphousse wrote. “The actions of one person do not reflect our community or the individuals in it.”

Rose Unplugged: From Vision to Legacy: Charlie Kirk (AUDIO)

Please enjoy this interview Rose Unplugged did with Charlie Kirk.

“Like many of you, I remain stunned and deeply saddened by Charlie’s death,” Rose Unplugged wrote.

I truly believe Charlie was a modern-day prophet. Like the prophets of old, his message often disturbed people — not because it lacked truth, but because it called for faith and repentance. That kind of message doesn’t always sit well, especially when it confronts people with their need for change. But I believe he was divinely appointed to call us back to obedience to God’s Word.

He makes the point in this interview that it is “time for decent people of the West to rise up and defeat evil”.

In this interview, he also shares what he envisioned for himself as a young man and how he feels about his accomplishments.

There is also a special message for parents at the end.

At one point during our conversation, he said: “I am applying myself to be a better version of myself.”

HORROR: Illegal Alien Drunk Driver Mows Down, Kills 16-Year-Old Girl Who Rejected His Lewd Advances

HORROR: Illegal Alien Drunk Driver Mows Down, Kills 16-Year-Old Girl Who Rejected His Lewd Advances
September 17, 2025

An illegal alien drunk driver mowed down a 16-year-old girl who rejected his sexual advances on Saturday.

On Tuesday, Fox News reporter Bill Melugin revealed the drunk driver, identified as Edwin Cruz-Gomez is an illegal alien from Honduras.

A very drunk Cruz-Gomez was reportedly hanging out near Prima Donna in New York City at 4 am on Saturday when he made sexual advances at Jhoanny Gomez-Alvarez as she walked by with her mother and friends. After an argument, Cruz-Gomez got into his Chevy Suburban, drove up on the sidewalk and pinned Jhoanny Gomez-Alvarez against a pillar, according to The New York Post.

Cruz-Gomez was driving on a suspended license when he killed 16-year-old Jhoanny Gomez-Alvarez.

Jhoanny Gomez-Alvarez’s mother survived.

The New York Post reported on the drunk driving and murder:

The crazed drunk driver accused of mowing down a 16-year-old on a Queens sidewalk after she rejected his lewd advances was charged with murder Saturday night — and it’s not the first time he was nabbed driving under the influence.

Driving with a suspended license, Edwin Cruz-Gomez, 38, allegedly plowed a 2009 Chevy Suburban into teen Jhoanny Gomez-Alvarez following a heated fight with the girl, her boyfriend, her mother and the mother’s friend Saturday morning outside an Elmhurst bar.

Earlier in the year, he had been charged with driving while intoxicated on the Southern State Parkway in Long Island, according to court papers obtained by The Post.

His license was suspended following the Jan. 26 incident.

Fox News reporter Bill Melugin: Per ICE sources, the drunk driver arrested by NYPD for murder on Saturday after he fatally mowed down a 16-year-old girl who rejected his sexual advances is a previously deported Honduran illegal alien w/ multiple prior DUI arrests. I’m told he was also ignored by ICE after an October 2024 arrest for possession of a forged instrument because the Biden administration didn’t consider him an immigration enforcement priority.
